Hello anchovies - good to hear from you again

Frizbe, we were all set to buy second hand until FIL very nicely said he would help us out with the purchase of a new one . . .so how could we refuse?! As I'm the only one who drives, and it is literally for pootling around the island and doing the school run, I can't see us getting another car for atleast 7 or 8 years, so a new one kind of makes more sense.

romilly · 04/10/2005 21:30

just a quickie (knackered today) to say that is great news expressmummy, you must be so relieved.

newgirl · 04/10/2005 22:11

anchovies - i had a big bleed about three weeks ago and I think all is ok now. Its awful isn't it? The only good thing I can add is that I have now spoken to loads of people who had similar and went on to have bouncing babies no worries

Cadmum · 05/10/2005 00:59

Glad to hear from you again, Anchovies. I am sorry to hear about your scare. What a nightmare! I hope it doesn?t happen again. Take care of yourself!

Frizbe · 05/10/2005 10:13

Morning all, just a quick hi, then I really am off to paint the kitchen! catch you all later, glad you all seem to be ok x

munz · 05/10/2005 12:07

so of all u girls buyin new cars. ours is 5 years old and we're still paying for it mega probs right now thou speedo's gone and the ignition/fuel injection light keeps coming on after 5 miles or so of driving - asked DH to ring the garages for me today.

anchovies - poor thing witht eh bleed, glad it all worked out thou - u get an put ur feet up thou and rest.

friz - that goes for u as well!

had more flutterings today - they seem to be a bit more regular/noticable now. (could it happen if my trousers are squishing tum when sat down?)

Frizbe · 05/10/2005 16:26

Aww Munz, glad your feeling flutterings! well have finished painting kitchen, 100% better, so that's a happy me! and its now all wipeable paint, so fingers x'd if we sell during the next few years, will get away with a quick wipe over rather than a re paint! and still have enuff paint left to do the utility too (once we repair the hole in the celing where the bath leaked....)hurrah!
Have to say tho, left leg, pelvis thru bum to top of leg giving me gip today.....was my right leg last pregnancy, looks to be the other one this time...fingers x'd it doesn't go to both, or it'll be crutches for me...

desperatehousewife · 05/10/2005 17:55

Friz - sounds like you shoulnd't be doing too much...painting...? sounds like a job for someone else. You need to look after yourselves (you and the bump!).

Munz, probably would feel more when you sit down with tight things on as it's feeling restricted and moving away from the uncomfy bit!!

I have had my first real proper flutterings today. God, it's lovely isn't it?!

New thread when we all get to 20 week scan stage? Are we all having 20 week scans or not?

Zephyrcat · 05/10/2005 18:08

Hi all Good to see you're all ok and fantastic news for anchovies and EM. Also to Cadmum for your scan going well

I've been lurking a bit lately and spending an awful lot of time on the africa webcam - so addictive!!

Still in agony and still can't decide if its muscles or spd!!

I'm starting to feel really paranoid about this pg. I think it's because I haven't even been booked in yet so I don't know how things are going along Not very reassuring and I'm going to complain. If it was my first pg I think I'd be terrified! For those of you that have had a bleed, how did it start? Was it just straight away? Today I'\ve noticed on the tissue really faint pink colour so wondering if a bleed is likely - I really haven't a clue as I didn't have it with dd and ds.

Are any of you past the tired stage? It's killing me!!! I physically haven't got the energy to move. Taking dd to school 10 minutes away wipes me out for the whole day and all I want to do is sleep! Mind you doesn't help that ds has been waking up in the night lately and last night he had his first ever 'night terrors' I'd never heard of them and watching him go through it scared us to death!!

Don't wait for my 20 week scan to start a new thread or half of you will have given birth the way I'm going!!!

desperatehousewife · 05/10/2005 18:32

oh Zeph - poor you. How many weeks are you now? You really should push for a booking appointment. Why have they not seen you yet?

OP posts:
Zephyrcat · 05/10/2005 18:38

I've got my booking in appt for next week (13th) so am going to see what the midwife has to say and ask why it's been left so late. I should have rung them up but I haven't got the energy to argue!! When I finally see them I'll be 14+2 i think - although according to their dates they've put me down for i'll be 18 weeks!!!

desperatehousewife · 05/10/2005 19:59

I know it seems like an eternity to wait - and it's hideous. I wasn't seen til i was 10 or 11 weeks and thought that was outrageous. Apparently many of them aren't interested til you are past that crucial 12 week mark. So try not to feel too stessed about it, it's not mega late to be seen.

OP posts:
Cadmum · 05/10/2005 20:12

FWIW I was not seen until I was over 16 weeks with my last pregnancy despite the fact that I had already had 2 missed miscarriages. ZC: Do you live in London?

Frizbe · 05/10/2005 20:35

Crikey Zephyr, I must have been mega lucky, they saw me at 8 weeks! even tho its my 2nd....
DHW ah, how I would love to put my feet up! but I'm such a fidget! that is, once you actually get me out of bed as I can sleep for England, but once I actually get up, I tend to go for it! lucky really as been waiting for dh to do the kitchen for last 2 years...he only did dd's room 2 weeks before she was born.....he's half painted the hallway and part way up the stairs, but he never finished the top bit by the celing, so we have a nice colour gap! luckily its all a magnolia of sorts, so doesn't look too bad, but I'm of the opinion if I want it doing, do it myself!

Lizzylou · 05/10/2005 20:42

HI all, just having a peek to see what's going on before I sleep the sleep of the dead until morning (if I am very lucky!).
Last night DS woke at 1.10am and I misread the digital alarm clock and thought it was 7.10am, started getting us up until I realised....luckily DS went back until morning, well...5.30am! Am exhausted and DH isn't back until late Friday night........
Hope you are all well xx

romilly · 06/10/2005 14:04

hi everyone. sorry my postings have been a bit sporadic but even if i dont post i usually manage a quick check in to see what you are all up to.

when do most people start getting flutterings - i am 18 weeks tomorrow and v.jealous of you munz - i really really want some too!!!

friz - when did you first get them?

munz · 06/10/2005 14:08

rom - mine are more regular today/yesterday - seem to be esp when I sit down

romilly · 06/10/2005 14:11

are they quite obvious flutterings or just subtle?

munz · 06/10/2005 14:12

(apparently the girls in work think i've put on weight this last week might explain it!) either that or bean's near the surface! lol.

munz · 06/10/2005 14:14

subtle really - when I move my trousers they tend to stop, did think it was wind - but no one can have that much wind! lol.

also my tummy getting hard now esp when i'm lying down. (didn't notice it at first - though I was imagioning things)

RosiePosie · 06/10/2005 14:16

Is this your first, Romilly? I didn't feel movement until 22 weeks with my first.

romilly · 06/10/2005 14:21

yes rosieposie - its my first (that has got to this stage), so i am just being impatient i guess

newgirl · 06/10/2005 14:23

hi all

zeph - apparently at this stage in preg bleeding is common and not that worrying (to the docs at least..!). They told me spotting without pain is nothing to worry about but it would be worth mentioning it at your appt next week. If you get anything more than a tiny bit on a tissue you could phone your doc to see what they say. But apparently it is common and can happen right through a pregnancy with no problems at all.

When I had a bleed it was out of the blue - went to the loo and suddenly there was blood everywhere - lovely. Then spotting for a week and then it stopped. Had lots of checks at the hospital and it was all fine. They reckon it could be fibroids or a burst vessel and nothing really to do with pregnancy other than the fact that it is all getting a bit squashed in there. Hope this helps.

take care y'all

Cadmum · 06/10/2005 14:48

Romilly: I can feel movement regularly now whenever I am still. (The baby is happy when i am not being an Oxygen Bandit!) It is slightly more than a flutter. I also did not feel anything with my first until just beyond the 20 week mark. I think that this is more typical actually.

I am still sore from having tumbled down the stairs the other night but less than I was yesterday so that is good.

A friend just rang and invited us ?round to play and I could just cry! I am so excited by the prospect of NOT spending any more time in this house. (Crazy hormonal woman that I am! )

Frizbe · 06/10/2005 16:25

Cadmum, that's great! have a fab time out! is it today or another day tho?
Rom I got flutterings at 15 weeks this time around, but it was 20 odd weeks like Cadmum, during my 1st pregnancy.
