That's fantastic news, EM - you've made my day

newgirl · 04/10/2005 14:29

Fantastic news EM!!

Ouch cadmum - that must have been horrible especially in the middle of the night when you are half asleep.

munz - my dh thinks it will be ok yippee

Frizbe · 04/10/2005 14:34

Great news EM, and congrats on your little boy!!

munz · 04/10/2005 14:35

sorry NG- yes my DH said it would be OK as well - had to cover and say that it was a DVD I was buying him! lol.

poppyh · 04/10/2005 14:55

Thank goodness for that EM!!Was thinking of you all morning.

poppyh · 04/10/2005 15:07

Am going to look at bigger cars this pm.Ive realised I cant manage with 3 children in back of my Toyota Yaris.Love my car too!!

Lizzylou · 04/10/2005 15:16

Expressmummy, fab news! So pleased all is well.

I am really thinking I want to find out the sex now and DH won't have it! I want to know!!!
Have felt energetic today and done some work for a change.
May be on here more as Dh is away all well in London with work, which is good as won't have him snoring or hogging the remote but bad as will miss him (esp when it's DS's bath and bed time!)
Hope all are well xx

Frizbe · 04/10/2005 15:48

Ah don't worry Lizzy Lou we'll keep you company
Poppy H let me know how you get on with cars, and I'll let you know if we find any nice ones for three, I do know that the BMW estate doesn't cut the mustard with 3 seats in the back, cause I was talking to another mum at nursery the other day, and she had twins in the back and an elder son in the front seat, apparently they use their other car when dh is about, that they can all fit in!

RosiePosie · 04/10/2005 16:01

We have a citroen picasso on order - just waiting for the factory to build it - I'm so excited! I've never owned a new car before!

munz · 04/10/2005 16:03

oooooooooooooh I'm so pissed off with work! bloody spanish ppl wht is it with them how hard is it to marry the invoices to the order even if there is 2/3 invoices - FFS bloody spanish woman!

Frizbe · 04/10/2005 16:03

RP, do you know if you have to have, specific car seats for this car? or will any old make do?

Lizzylou · 04/10/2005 16:05

V Jealous of the girls with new cars/shopping for new cars...DH says we can't change mine (Punto) , I love it and it is easy to park (what a bird!)but it will be tiny with 2 little ones in!
I really like the Picassos and Vauxhall Meriva/Zafiras....

Frizbe · 04/10/2005 16:11

Lizzylou, trust me we need one, my current car is an F Reg! yes its still going!!

RosiePosie · 04/10/2005 16:18

We've got a Graco stage one and 2 Britax stage twos and they fit in fine. I think because it's a car that's designed for families, most car seats will fit in fine. I preferred the Zafira and others, but the Picasso was the only one within our budget. I'm really pleased with our decision now though. I loved driving the demonstrator, and for pootling around the isle of wight, it suits our needs perfectly.

LL, up until now I've had a tiny little Ford KA and we've managed with two children. Bit of a nightmare getting a buggy in the boot though!

Lizzylou · 04/10/2005 16:23

We have no money for a new car anyway...but I can dream!
I was worried more about shopping etc with a buggy in the back...we are going for the Phil and Ted's which will only just fit in........
Was really hoping you'd tell me I would NEED anew one and then maybe we could magic some money out of somewhere!

RosiePosie · 04/10/2005 16:55

I've got a Phil and Ted's - that definately doesn't fit in the KA - my little maclaren volo only just does. We just have to take the buggy out every time we go shopping ( or get the shopping delivered!

Lizzylou · 04/10/2005 16:58

Asda have just started delivering to our area....looks like I will never get out of this house then !

We tested the Phil and Teds and it just about fit in the boot of Dh's car...cross fingers for a lottery win, altho will have to start buying tickets!

poppyh · 04/10/2005 17:23

Were looking at a Toyota Yaris Verso which is a small mpv.Trying to find a second hand one at the mo.Three seats roomy in back, but being in London its still a smaller nippy car for me!!Plus cant afford the insurance on anything too big.
Dh has a ford estate and the back seats arent very spacious at all.I just need my 11 yr old Ds to be happy!!

desperatehousewife · 04/10/2005 19:31

hi all,

em that is such fantastic news - i'm absolutely thrilled for you...phewie! God, you must feel amazing!

Still not feeling anything I don't think - but then again, lots of layers of blubber to kick through poor little mite (although I feel I'm protecting him better!)

I am convinced I am having a boy - even though the 3 month scan pic looks so like a girl (yeah right, they all look the same dont' they?!)

Am pooped. Going for very early night tonight!

Hey everyone!

Have been missing for ages as have had no internet connection but have been here in spirit!

Everything still doing ok here, had a big bleed last friday which was pretty terrifying and the midwife on the hospital's delivery suite took an incredible 15 minutes to find the heartbeat - needless to say I was pretty relieved when everything was ok! Bloodpressure was 150/100 and pulse 100, think I was about to explode! All fine now though and feeling plenty of movement which is great (and very reassuring!)

Had a quick check through the thread, glad everyone is ok (glad everything was ok EM)

All this talk of new cars has got me on the case with dh as well! Having said that I know he enjoyed my mumsnet break so tonight might not be a good time!

chellebelle · 04/10/2005 20:03

Am soooo jealous of you lot having your 20 week scans wish I had one to look forward to. Not even feeling baby move much any more - was feeling it loads cause was wearing clothes that were too small - am in maternity wear most of the time now so it's not being squished as much so am not feeling it - had a little wiggle earlier so am not as worried now. Can't wait for the big kicks to (scuse the pun) kick in (tee hee).

Lizzylou · 04/10/2005 20:13

Glad all is Ok, Anchovies.

desperatehousewife · 04/10/2005 20:32

oh anchovies - what a nightmare - how terrifying for you. So glad everything is ok now.

Hi Anchovies welcome back, glad all is ok after your scare.
RP thanks for the info! I was hoping you'd say that, as I've been looking at the picasso as well think we'll be going 2nd hand tho, see if I can grab one fairly cheap! just hate the amount of money you loose buying brand new, but on the other hand, can totally understand the appeal!
