LOL Spiker.... another Fimbles fan here!
All you first time Mums will know exactly what Spiker is talking about so very soon....!

desperatehousewife · 16/11/2005 09:48

Will go and measure myself with loo roll immediately! Surely loo roll comes in different sizes though girls?!

When I had my fall at 7 months with DS I fell onto my hands which sadly i was wearing my friends eternity ring which had 27 little diamonds in it. When I stood up the ring was mishapen into an oval shape and 5 of the diamonds had popped out - 3 never to be found again. It was horrendous! I cried telling her I felt sooooo bad!

off to find some bog roll!

lol@dhw - well TP seems to be less erm stressful if u like than the tape measure! lol.

am nice and calm today about yesterday's visit to the m/w after talking to mum, she did point out the baby's heart beat sounds v healthy with is all I can ask for really.

glad all went well spiker.

munz · 16/11/2005 09:56

ooh and DHW - that's my excuse I think andrex is slightly bigger (least that's what i'm telling myself! lol - cos yesterday I used charmin! lol) back to andrex thou for next week! lol.

desperatehousewife · 16/11/2005 11:08

hmmmm not very scientific is it?!!!
So I guess you wrap the bog roll right round your self - like you would a tape measure?

I'm 9 squares !

desperatehousewife · 16/11/2005 11:09

I've got three words to say to you all this morning.....chocolate brioche rolls. OMG they are heavenly. Will be increasing my bog roll sizage considerably as Tesco have just delivered!!

newfimblegirl here!

I don't think I have enough loo roll to measure my huge bump - I must go shopping!

more klutz behaviour to report. I bent down in a shop yesterday to look at the label in a skirt and banged my forehead on the glass shelf just above it. Owww! It stil hurts a bit. So uncool.

Spiker - my placenta is previa too - they have said I can have a scan at 36 weeks - maybe I should try and get one at 32 weeks too?

munz - I wouldn't worry about 'big baby' thing - the antenatal teacher who does our aqua class was talking about it last week and she said that she has been to two c-sections recently for so called big babies and they were both 8 lbs which is national average. She was really cross about it. My baby was a big one and no one noticed so its all a bit random.

Lizzylou · 16/11/2005 11:17

Newgirl, I always do things like that..even when not pg!

9 squares here too....although that was kitchen roll!!!!
No, not really, Nouvelle.

RosiePosie · 16/11/2005 13:31

I'm only 8 squares, and that's small squares I think - we got to Sainsburys late on Saturday and they'd sold out of everything except this weird brand with pictures of fish on

I always carry small though - nobody even knew I was pregnant until I was 7 months gone last time.

munz · 16/11/2005 13:39

rp how rude! lol.

DHW - ah yes it's v scientific thank you! lol - (cos I was about 2 MM shy of 9 squares so I had to eat a choccy bar to make it 9!) lol.

LL - ooh u know if I do kitchen roll i'll only be about 5 - good plan that one! lol.

I think this baby's gonna be what ever size - and i'll have to deal with it - after all he won't stay small for long! lol. on to getting 6-9/9-12 clothes I think! lol.

did I tell u girls we'd picked Jake for his name? - althou DH last night said he prefers Jack/Josh (I don't like either so jake's the sticking one) anyone else got any firm name choices yet?

poppyh · 16/11/2005 14:16

Im def having Esme for our girl.Trying to agree on a middle name though.Son likes primrose!!DH wants Alice.I'll let them fight it out!!
Can I say did loo roll test and only 5 squares
But I am a small woman and the baby is average size.

munz · 16/11/2005 14:25

pop! lol. are u a size 6/8 to start with? I know one of us is (not me thou )

Lizzylou · 16/11/2005 14:29

Very at Pop!!!

we have definitely decided on Benedict and Thea for our names..thing is, I will be disappointed now at whichever one I don't get to use!
Esme and Jake are both lovely.

poppyh · 16/11/2005 14:41

Yes im a petite size 6.But my last baby was 7lb, so it goes to show bump size and baby size are both very different. But ive put on a stone and a half in this pregnancy, just seems I have a bigger bum and great big love handles now!!

newgirl · 16/11/2005 16:51

lovely names everyone!

Our baby is Polly - my DH likes PJ Harvey and I just like it.

Is size 6/8 american or UK poppy?

I sorted out some baby clothes today (I am so easily distracted from work!!) and they are SOOO small! How cute!!!

Did anyone see the postnatal depression slot on This Morning today? I think its brilliant they cover it on there - it was very helpful I think. Apparently the midwives think it can start in pregnancy though so we all have to pamper ourselves and have lots of fun and have a good moan on here if we get fed up. Take That on TV tonight if anyone needs a boost!!

Lizzylou · 16/11/2005 17:03

OOH, Howard from Take That with no top on...under that waterfall........YUM!

I'm all for pampering!

desperatehousewife · 16/11/2005 17:53

LL - woman after my own heart! I was the biggest Howard fan and am gutted that I am going out to the flicks tonight and will miss the TT doc. Have new recordable dvd player and can't work out how to record yet! !

OP posts:
Zephyrcat · 16/11/2005 18:23

Another one looking forward to TT tonight!! Wasn't a huge fan but quite into Robbie at the mo lol
Planning to get to bed to watch it - got a stinking cold as has ds and dd has had a temp all day so bed sounds very good!! Was up late last night watching a prog called This Life (or something like that) Did any of you see it? It was a bout a woman who was born with two wombs so when she got pregnant, she got pregnant twice in one go!! One baby in each womb - they were about 4lbs when they were born and soooo cute!!

munz · 16/11/2005 18:46

zeph - I heard about it yes.

LL - ah yes OMG I was such a TT fan! DH hasn't been warned they're on tonight. Mark Owen was my crush! lol - I feel so old now cos all the music we bopped to is now like 20 eyars old! lol- not to mention TT and new kids were the 'in' band! lol. (unless u were an east 17 gal!)

spiker · 16/11/2005 19:24

This loo roll thing is just too silly for words...I'm 7.5 squares.

newgirl - I get a scan at 32 then another at 36 if necessary. 36 seems a tad late to me, worth asking about it at any rate. Hope you are being a good girl like me and have regretfully sacrificed your marathon training and weightlifting programmes.

I like all the proposed names - particularly like Benedict and Thea though, Lizzylou. We've decided on Irving for a boy and are still clueless for a girl. Lilah is the closest we've come to an agreement. Iris is my favourite, but not allowed.

Whatever I suggest DH hates and all he has contributed so far is Meredith, which I don't dislike but I'm not keen on it either. To be fair, lots of the girl names that I suggest everybody hates, so it's not just him. Ursula anyone?

RosiePosie · 16/11/2005 20:31

I'm ashamed and embarrassed to admit that Gary was my favourite.

Frizbe · 16/11/2005 22:16

Some nice names coming out ladies, we're still bickering here.... Munz, I must tell you in case you don't know tho....Jake is one of the Tweenies, if it doesn't mean anything now, it will in a year!
Spiker and Newgirl, boo at the placenta's although sure all will be ok with both of you and they'll shift right out the way, I had it last time, but it shifted for me (phew no c-section) I got scanned at 34 weeks last time?! so was inbetween the pair of you, I'm guessing they'll just give you a section date at a 36 week scan if you need one??

Spiker also lol re Fimbles, was debating today whether to take dd to see them on stage next year, but its in May, so may have to work out some baby sitting for newbie!

DHW, grrr at Choc Brioche, no fair!

PR and Poppy H, how do you stay so small??

Frizbe · 16/11/2005 22:33

Yikes girls, just reading the feb thread, two friends of a feb threader have popped at 26 weeks!!
JuA is having twins and has been told to have her bags ready to rock from 30 weeks! all getting closer now.....

On a nice note, midwife saw me this am, and was running late, due to having just attended a first time birth, that happened so fast, the poor woman didn't make the hospital ouch hardly any drugs....

munz · 16/11/2005 23:05

bloody hell friz - 2 popped already! what u lot eating over there! lol. (hope all's well wiht them)

I know jake's a tweenie - which is why I initally discredited it, but it's the only thing we're agreeing on at the mo.

desperatehousewife · 17/11/2005 09:55

Just had 2 choc chip brioche rolls .

I can't think about names - was so SO set on Ruby if it was a girl that can't bring myself to think of any boys names!! Maybe it should be Howard after my love of HD from TT!!

Rosie - shame on you for admitting to loving fat Gaz! What were you thinking?
God I miss them and I'm old enough to know better!
