poppyh · 15/11/2005 08:31

Frizbe · 15/11/2005 08:34

ooooh I'm so jelous of all your new cars!!
I was hassling for the money I'm waiting for last night, looks like it will be january.....I made a point of stressing I was hoping it would be dec as baby on way.....grrrrr.....bleedin investments......still new car then, so long as all proceeds as it should!

Lizzylou · 15/11/2005 09:14

Hi all, been offline again but working today and tomorrow so catching up!
Spiker- my bloody arm/shoulder is agony, from where I did my flump stuntman roll to avoid crushing DS and bump! Went back to music group yesterday and they all made such a fuss of me! was still v embarrassing though...I haven't fallen like that since I was 5..unless you count being under the influence in my past life!
Klara/Newgirl- I am the same, am really up and down when I'm pg, just feel low and not like "me" anymore and am v emotional and snappy!
Munz- I haven't had the leaky boobs until post birth but my friend got married when she was 24 weeks and her boobs chose that day to start leaking!!! Imagine! Just shows all in good working order...get those pads out!

Hope all others are Ok, very jealous of those with new cars......
xxx

munz · 15/11/2005 10:43

m/w apt this avo so will catch up properly then - I must be a late bloomer with the bump as today i'm 9 loo roll squares - 9 I tell u! hopein it's not all baby!

thell · 15/11/2005 15:12

Just a quickie chaps - more packing to do. Moving out tomorrow, and not sure when our broadband line will be up and running. Could be a couple of weeks.

RP- I did a bit of research into water pools a while ago, but in usual style have forgotten! I too wanted to get one with a heater and filter, but having chatted with a woman who used one that wasn't heated, I feel fairly confident that they don't lose heat very quickly and we'll be able to top it up, like a bath. Makes it a bit cheaper too! The Good Birth Company look quite good, but I'll look into it. The only one I've seen with a heater and filter is by Gentle Water I think.

Sorry about the Rod Stewart thing!!

Zephyrcat · 15/11/2005 15:27

Hi guys Hows it all going? Am still trying to catch up on all the posts here! Seems to be lots of new cars (even though i don't drive!!) and Rod Stewart in a birthing pool wearing a thong??!! pmsl!!

Has everyone had scans and sexes now? (those that wanted to know) I can't believe how quickly these March threads get upto 700 posts!!

I haven't had another scan date through yet but to be honest I can't be bothered anymore!! I've got my consultant appointment next week so will maybe get my date for my cs - knowing the date your baby will be born is soooo weird! I rang to get an appointment with the midwife and couldn't get one til decimber 1st so I tried for an ante natal appt with the doc and was offered 22nd december!!! Have you guys seen the midwife loads? It feels really strange that at 20 weeks i've still only seen her once and that was to book in!!

Have any of you got the heartbeat thingy from Tesco? (or probably most shops!) We were looking at it the other day as an option instead of buying/renting a doppler - it just straps on to youur belly and you listen through headphones! Only 30.00 so not sure if it'd be any good...

munz · 15/11/2005 15:39

zeph - i've only got a bebe doppler found it fab. seen the m/w a total of 5 times and never once have I had the same midwife twice

had apt today, urine's fine (no GD but they'll do bloods next tiem 28 weeks) jnr is being v active at the mo.

slightly worried about my BP, it started out as 120/70, week 16 was 105/60 and today's was 100/60 - any of u know if that's right? - m/w said it's 'healthy' but I thought it was too low - I do get quite a few nose bleeds but not as much as the first trimester. the lenght of bump is measuring 25 cm now - the higher side of 'average' so getting worried again he's goin to be a big boy - but according to the 'personalised' chart they did it's all average! - no idea! apparently my consultant doesn't typically induce for a big baby, only if GD/SPD.

Zephyrcat · 15/11/2005 15:52

Is that the one i've seen in tesco Munz? If so I'll def have to get one

Sounds like it's all going really well Munz I wouldn't worry about your BP, I think if the midwife thought it was too low she would have said as it's one of the things they are quite hot on.

catj · 15/11/2005 15:52

ZC I haven't seen the midwife much. Seen her twice at 12 + 16 wks,not going again til 26 wks. Had 12 + 20 wk scans and the hospital don't need to see me again until 36weeks! Seems strange as last time with the DT's it felt like we were constantly at the clinic.
Sorry to boast but I've got a new car too
It's a Seat Alhambra and, yes,I'm having trouble parking it esp as we had a towbar put on it.

Lizzylou · 15/11/2005 15:53

Munz, my blood pressure is always around 100/60, the midwife is always really pleased with it...
I wouldn't worry about bump size, I don't think it's too much of an indicator...smaller framed women show more and have a more defined bump earlier from what I can tell from my friends etc.

munz · 15/11/2005 15:58

at all these new cars - ours is going in for fixing - well to be priced up if it's too much then we'll see what we can arrange I think. lol.

zeph - don't know hon, mine's a doppler type thingy - u have to hold it in place and listen thru head phones. this is my one here I borrowed it from next door. she had trouble with her DD and finding the heart but with DS ther's been no problems.

M/W say's he's got a v healthy heart beat which is good. - and he was v responsive to the doppler - what eva that menas! lol.

LL - I think that's the problem - I had a bit of a belly b4 but am only 5" and a fag end tall (rather small) guess as long as the m/w is happy - ooh who'd be a first time mum! lol. glad to know my BP isn't that abnormal! lol.

Jackstini · 15/11/2005 16:13

Munx - mine was 100/65 last time and only 100/50 the time before and doc said it was fine? Today I am 8 loo roll squares - but I am 2 1/2 weeks behind you!
Zeph - I have got a doppler too - very reassuring and nice for the rest of the family to hear too. I have only seen m/w once - got another appt 29th Nov.
Have booked my 4-D scan!!! Very excited, even if I have got to wait another 5 weeks (so it is at the optimum age apparantly)

Zephyrcat · 15/11/2005 16:14

loo roll squares??? I must have missed that one!!

Lizzylou · 15/11/2005 16:19

Loo roll squares ??? I am so glad that someone else was wondering what that was as I thought I was the only one and therefore a bad mummy!

Jackstini what is a 4D scan? Will you find out the sex? Is it pricey and what made you decide on one? Sorry to be nosey...am v intrigued!

Zephyrcat · 15/11/2005 16:21

Have a look here at some 4d scan pics - they're fantastic!!

Lizzylou · 15/11/2005 16:30

WOW! I want one too!!!!

Zephyrcat · 15/11/2005 16:32

me too! lol quite expensive though and seems to be more of the places for doing them based up north so too far for me

munz · 15/11/2005 16:38

WOW!!!! I want one as well - no chance around here thou!

loo roll - sorry girls it's from our beanie thread. - just a way of measuring without gettin all i'm 39inches or what ever! lol. (i've gone an extra square in 2 weeks!)
Jack - that's low isn't it - I shouldn't worry then.

desperatehousewife · 15/11/2005 18:59

still don't get the loo roll squares - what are you putting them over your tummy? when lying down or standing up?!!!!!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 15/11/2005 19:56

TP Tuesday, Munz I'm only a week ahead of you and I'm 9 squares too, and was last week as well
DHW you measure around your bump, whilst standing up!!! people generally seem to go up in size, then drop a square or 2 just before they have the baby, as it drops down!!
Catj, Grrrr at your new car so jealous!

Jackstini · 15/11/2005 20:26

I bid for mine on Ebay - usually costs about 195 but I got for 116. That includes a DVD of the baby moving during the 4-D scan (about 15 mins), a CD with all the still photos on & 6 colour prints.
This company was called windowtothewomb.com but I have seen others too - Babybond, Babyultrasound, Babypremier, Babyscanning & Babyview all have websites so there may be some bargainous scans near you all

spiker · 15/11/2005 22:40

newgirl - lol at your boobs tingling...and is your nose wrinkling? and your topknot twitching? (sorry, won't make any sense unless you're forced to watch cbeebies regularly).

lizzylou - really feel for you. Know what you mean about falling like a child. I ended up with ripped jeans and nasty grazes all over my face and knee when I had my pregnant-fall with DS1. Not sophisticated is it. I am such a klutz at the moment - I keep dropping (and breaking) things. I heard that you can lose some sensitivity in your fingers during pregnancy. Mind you, just before this pregnancy I walked straight into some high level equipment at the playground and nearly knocked myself out...in front of how many mums?! I couldn't go back for a fortnight - they were all so nice to me, and I was so embarassed...

Finally had my scan. Baby OK but most unco-operative and refused to uncurl itself, despite 2 attempts and lots of jiggling in the waiting room inbetween. So no chance of seeing what sex it was. Or indeed of seeing much at all. Bit of a downer is that I have placenta praevia, but chances are that it will move up as I grow and will be clear by delivery. Bonus of an extra scan at 32 weeks!
