Hi all, hope your all ok today!

Ah see what you mean Munz, orrible having to wait for paydays isn't it! (be glad your not self employeed, it gets really hairy sometimes!)

Spiker, I think SPD is usually the whole of your pelvis, affecting both legs?

Well not much to say, so I'll bugger off for now!

RosiePosie · 03/11/2005 19:33

Hi

My SPD is centred in my groin, which is quite common I think, although sometimes the pain radiates all around the hip joint. I only suffer from it on the left hand side. Pain is particularly bad after doing anything which involes opening my legs, ie straddling anything, stepping sideways, so I have to be really careful how I move at the moment. And turning over in bed is also painful. SPD pain is most common at the front, around the groin area, as this is where the pubis joint is, but is can be felt elsewhere.

Jackstini · 04/11/2005 10:50

Caught up again now - lol at the over the bump jeans - I could not do without mine either. Seems to ease the 'heaviness ache' when everything is tucked in!
Well I had my scan yesterday and everything fine Still think it is so amazing - especially when she was focusing in on the organs etc
Have felt 2 flutters but nothing else so far. So glad I am at the halfway stage now - 19 1/2 weeks to go!

thell · 04/11/2005 10:58

Hello!
The Feb girls have just started talking about SPD - some of them seem to have it quite badly. If you look at the Due Feb thread, there's a link to a web page describing SPD pains and why it happens.

Hope you're all well

Jackstini · 04/11/2005 12:01

Have added a scan pic under member profiles now.
It kept it's legs shut like a good baby so we are still having a surprise!

desperatehousewife · 04/11/2005 12:47

Jacks- fantastic scan pic! So sweet. Love the cigar - sign him/her up for a Hamlet ad soon!'

OP posts:
Frizbe · 04/11/2005 16:27

Thell you've posted the same as I was thinking!

Jackstini congrats on the scan, will go and look at the pic soon!

Well bit miffed this afternoon, as our house is relativly new (4yrs old now), but the front door has recently warped, and there are bits starting to fall off the windows, a bit of grouting needs doing etc etc.......so I rang NHBC who said only grouting covered, but has to be over £680 worth, which I don't think it is (Yet!) so can't get that done, doors n windows not covered unless there is water inbetween the double glazing.....they suggested I ring the developers, who would tell me if still guranteed by the fitting co, and guess what, yep the fitting co have gone out of business, not * surprised considering the state of their items......grrrrr....will now have to pay for new door and asstd bits to be done on windows etc......pah!

poppyh · 05/11/2005 07:44

Oh Friz, you poor thing.
Jack, gorgeous photo, very clear!
Hello to everyone!Having a bad weekend tbh.
But thats another story!!
Take care all.

auntymandy · 05/11/2005 07:46

just thought I would pop in and say hi!!
Hope you are all doing well and have lovely big bumps!!

munz · 05/11/2005 09:41

morning all.

spiker - we're no closer to finding a name tbh, theres 2 contenders Jake (but is a tweenie) Joseph (joe for DH)but tbh neither are particually standing out at me. back to the drawing board! only one apt?? - how many weeks will u be for ur scan?

rom - I think it gets ur more anxious if they on't try to find the heart beat. have told DH to remind me to ask for my urine ot be tested this time and check about GD, althou bless him he said it's not the end of the world to have diabetes - well no but i'm such a woos, when mum does the sugers when she's down I cringe! lol - don't like needles like that!

friz - yes it is a hassle init! lol - gonna get off into town today and see if we can't do one of those order everything and then pay it monthly till baby comes - althou we've left it a bit late - oh well! lol. do babies r us do those? - our local story is a mama's and papa's outlet and whilst I don't mind quality for some things I'd rather average for others if that makes sence. about ur windows/doors. what are u going to do from ehre? - will the contractors not compensate u in any way? another thing to do b4 the winter's fully here eh!

Jack - glad ur scan went ok.

pop - all ok with u honney?

I have aquired 3 strech marks on the side of my boobies how embaressing - touch wood none on the bump yet. alos had mega pains in the bump - not sure if it was wind or not - althou that dept's been normal of late. it woke me up - went on for about half hour - even when turning over it was painful. do u guys have that as well? 23 weeks tomorrow where has the last 10 weeks gone?

poppyh · 05/11/2005 11:36

Im fine thanks Munz, just hassles I can do without this weekend!!
But on a cheerier note sold my Yaris yesterday, Renault Scenic here comes Poppy!!

Frizbe · 05/11/2005 15:31

wooo hooo Pop's getting a new car

Munz, no pains in bump here, could just be a growth thing tho, so far no stretch marks either....but then they only turned up in last month last time too!
Can't do owt now re the windows n door, but Tabs on the Feb thread has had a similar problem in the past and has advised the next place we buy, to ensure the contractor is backed up by an insurance policy as well! (oh hindsight eh!!)

munz · 06/11/2005 12:12

a senic DH has decided to look for a verso, but I think we'll stick with what we've got - least for another year then re assess.

we picked out the pram - or at least I did! lol. he likes a differnet one but it was way over budget! lol. mama's and papa's have a huge sale online at the mo. so we're gonna go for this one here in our local store they wanted £380 - but for the whole set inclu postage online it's £255 so I think we'll try that one.

coppertop · 06/11/2005 13:53

I'm glad to see that all your scans have gone well.

My 20wk scan had to be abandoned in the end as the baby refused to move - despite numerous walks around the hospital. Apparently he/she was too comfortable lying on their front with their legs tucked up behind them. The bits that the sonographer could see were all fine though. I just have to go back again next week so that they can get a better view of the heart and measure the legs etc. I have a feeling that this baby will be as stubborn as their big brothers are.

RosiePosie · 06/11/2005 18:08

Atleast you get to see him/her again, coppertop. Will you be finding out the sex if you get the chance?

We're picking up our new Picasso next Saturday... I'm sooooo excited! Especially as it's killing my back/pelvis now bending down in the little KA whilst strapping the children in. Last baby I got a new house, this baby a new car - what will I get if I have another one???

jenny180283 · 06/11/2005 19:52

Frizbe · 07/11/2005 08:32

Hi Jenny, welcome to the thread, sorry to hear your feeling down, if you have a look in the topics section (I think its health) 3k from the Feb thread and a few of the other girls who have experienced natal and post natal depression have started a thread over there, so they may be better qualified to help from experience? Hope you feel more positive about things soon {{{Hugs}}}

Munz, pram looks good, I take it the car seat is seperate?

Coppertop lol at your beanie, probably a girl, they like to stay comfy!!

RP at your new car! we haven't even started looking yet dh won't let me until I have the cash to buy (waiting on some monies owed us coming in)

Hope everyone else had a good weekend, enjoy your mondays!

desperatehousewife · 07/11/2005 09:45

Hello Jenny,

sorry you're feeling worried. I totally understand. I had PND with my DS who is now 3. CAT me if you like anytime and we can have a good old moan to each other and bolster each other about this next baby!!

OP posts:
poppyh · 07/11/2005 10:22

Jenny, I too had PND with first born, now 11.I was paranoid last time when pregnant with DD now 2 and a half.I know how scary it can be to feel like that.Especially as when you mention it to mums in baby groups they seem to clam up!
Our scenic will be with us this week, its a second hand one.Im worried about driving it as Ive only ever had small cars.Munz, I want a verso!!Bit pricey though for us as weve just instructed builders to do our loft!Probably have no roof in the cold winter they keep warning us about.
Had a horrid weekend.Dh was working. My sons father turned up on my doorstep on Friday night.(Havent seen him in over 2 years.)He has never had anything to do with our DS,and it was a bit of a shock. He is a nasty man.Luckily my dad was here as I dont know what i wouldve done on my own.But hes gone now and hopefully he wont come back.Must go as Dd still in her pjs.

RosiePosie · 07/11/2005 10:41

Hi Jenny, welcome to the thread. I know nothing about PND, so I'm not going to pretend I do, but I hope you get the support you need here and on the rest of Mumsnet. I will say though that things are usually VERY different the second time around, even with another child to look after, the newborn stage is usually easier to handle because you've been there before.

PoppyH, I've never driven a larger car before either, and I hate driving when I'm pregnant at the best of times - my concentration goes out of the window. But I have no choice - I'm the only one with a driving licence.

romilly · 07/11/2005 11:23

hi girls and a big welcome to jenny. jenny it may be worth you starting a special thread on pnd - as those threads will attract people who know what they are talking about, ie. have first-hand experience of it. like rosieposie i dont know enough to give you advice.

rosiep - know exactly what you mean about driving and concentration - my concentration is appalling at the moment! i can hardly be trusted as a pedestrian let alone behind the wheel, lol

sorry for all suffering from SPD. i am still sick, which is just great at nearly 23 weeks! and starting to get back-ache and rib-ache which is partly due to my crap chair at work i'm sure! no support at all. complained to my boss who said "well thats your fault for being pregnant!" he said it jokingly but no mention of getting me a decent chair.

Frizbe · 07/11/2005 13:19

Ooooh Rom do I feel a H&S matter coming on re the chair!! did you know your work has to do a survey of your area now your preggers to ensure all is present and correct new chair for you my lady, if its not supportive enough! contact HR for details

Poppy H for you having to put up with ex ptr turning up on doorstep with no warning, not a nice experience...hope he doesn't come back again.
Congrats on loft and car how I want to go car shopping, must wait, must wait!

newgirl · 07/11/2005 14:00

Hi everyone

Hi Jenny - welcome to our thread! I'm really sorry to hear you are feeling fed-up. I'm similar to you - my dd is 3. All I can add to the others is that is there lots you can join now so you know lots of people when new baby arrives? I'm thinking of nct refresher classes, aqua natal, nct bumps and babies groups, or even a local book club? I just found that being really busy was a good distraction when I was pissed off eg something to get out for and to look forward to, and I found one or two good friends.

dhw - i heard from a midwife that the reason 2nd timers can feel a baby moving lots is because their muscles are slack!! So I reckon you can rest easy thinking you have toned inners!!

Munz - I think the littlies have their own personality and then you throw in some more for good measure! Eg my dd is very like me in what she says and her facial expressions (although she doesn't look like me at all) and sings like my mother-in-law. great. Genetics I'm afraid!

desperatehousewife · 07/11/2005 20:03

thanks newgirl!! Ha! can't imagine that's the case but can dream!

Since my last post about movements - I am now feeling my little boy moving quite a bit - the last couple of days it's getting to be quite obvious movements which is lovely. SO relieved! God, there's always something to worry about isn't there?!

Jackstini · 07/11/2005 22:04

Hi Jenny - welcome and hope you are feeling a bit better today. You will get lots of support on here anyway.
Rom - hope you get a decent chair soon. I have just started with the rib and back ache.
LOL at all the new 'sensible' family cars. I have driven lots of different cars with my job but it's still wierd having a new one. This one feels higher up and is an automatic too. Loving the parking sensors - no more car park panics about 'can I fit in that space or not'!
