HI all, just caught up after a barren few days with no computer...network probs or something!
Hope all are well, very at all talk of new cars.
I had a bt of a shock yesterday, I fell over in the car park walking to music group, I was holding DS (He was fine, so was bump) and have cut my knees and hurt my shoulder, as I was twisting to make sure bump and DS were OK. Very shocked and embarrassed by all the fuss by other Moms whose kindness made me cry and I kept crying all evening and night...it just really shook me up. Had my flat sensible boots on too!
DS was shook up but was soon off dancing and singing and jingling bells whilst I sat there like a 5 year old with blood pOuring thru my trousers!!! Felt like a little kid who fell over in a playground!
xxx

Frizbe · 08/11/2005 10:05

awww Lizzy lou, bless I can totally symphasise with you, as nearly landed on dd the other week,luckily my mother got in the way Hope your feeling better and less shaken up today {{{Hugs}}}

Newgirl, I can go with that theory, my muscles are totally slack kinda hoping that'll negate the stretch marks, although somehow I doubt it

Jackstini, is that just parking sensors, or one of the new cars with cameras in ( I was in a mates Rep car the other day with the cameras they're fab!)

Hope all are well, catch you soon

Lizzylou · 08/11/2005 10:10

THanks Frizbe, am shocked at how shook up I was...DH says that in my sleep last night I was moaning and tossing and turning! Just so glad DS and bump OK.
Newgirl...this time round my bump is not as "firm" and have lovely flabby bits on top! Have been swimming and Aquanatalling in vain attempt to firm up and stop my massive weight gain!

newgirl · 08/11/2005 11:14

Lizzylou that sounds awful! I am most impressed by the advanced sideways roll that protected toddler and baby - what a nice mummy you are!

I'm getting worried about the stretchmarks - I can't be bothered to put on my bio oil - it takes so long to cover all areas!! Saw myself sideways the other day - I am enormous! And ages to go yet good god.

desperatehousewife · 08/11/2005 15:20

LL - you poor thing - it's terrifying falling over when an adult - esp. when preg. I really feel for you. They say at 5 months your'e sense of balance goes out the window - BE CAREFUL everyone! Your centre of gravity changes when you have a bump I guess.

NG - I've just started on the bio oil. My stretch marks were so bad last time round that I'm hoping I won't get anymore - as I've stretched so much before.

I am absolutely enormous too - scary. Can't imagine how big I'll be in a couple of months. Feel really embaressed telling people i'm not due until march!

Lizzylou · 08/11/2005 15:25

DHW, I have experienced the raised eyebrows when I say when I'm due...people just look amazed that I am not due at Christmas or sooner!
I am clumsy normally, but particularly so at the moment....so, everyone be careful and stay upright!

Frizbe · 08/11/2005 16:34

Girls, the ladies on the feb thread are starting to get the dreaded stretch marks, 28 weeks appears to be the mark!

newgirl · 08/11/2005 17:03

28 weeks for stretchmarks - yikes - that will just about coincide with all the mince pies I plan to eat. Right, I'm going to put some bio oil on NOW.

ps had a lovely cuddle with a baby yesterday who had just been fed so dozed off on me - sooo cute. Very warm and snuggly. I had to hand her back when my dd poured apple juice over herself - attention-seeking? surely not...

thell · 08/11/2005 17:08

Jackstini - I could definitely do with some parking sensors. On me and the car! Yesterday I tried to squeeze between some people on a busy bus and squished my poor old bump on the stair rail. Misjudged my size a bit there...

Thought I had stretchmarks on my arms this morning, but turned out to be creases from sleeping in my cardigan...!

Jackstini · 08/11/2005 18:45

Friz - just the sensors - although the cameras sound fab!
LL - I know what you mean - our dog knocked me off balance the other day - luckily I was near a door and grabbed the handle so went down kind of gracefully!
So glad others are getting the raised eyebrows at your bump size. How annoying are people saying - "ooh, only a few weeks to go by the look of it!"

munz · 08/11/2005 19:54

just a quick one girls - DH isn't on nights till thurs and my comp in work's crashed out - hoping the bloke can revive it long enoguh for me to get some files off - then it's a new one - YAY so a whole new MN addiction! lol. hoping all my MN stuff's been wiped - ie the log of time I spend here! lol. (damn as will the stats have been - oh well)

hope u're all ok - hopeing to be back online tomorrow avo some time - cna't waitcos I've actually gotta work now! lol.

popsycal · 08/11/2005 19:57

sorry for peeping in,i have a march 2005 baby.....march is a great month!
good luck girls!

Zephyrcat · 08/11/2005 20:03

Hello all! Seems I'm going to be here for a few hours catching up with this thread!!!
Hope everyone is doing well. I've got my dating scan tomorrow (at 18 weeks!!?) so will finally have a date - got a horrible feeling they are going to put me into April as when I said my last cs was done 2 weeks early the midwife was quite surprised - can I stay here though?! Would feel strange going to a new thread now!!

Lizzylou · 09/11/2005 09:02

Course you can Zephyr! Can't believe you've had to wait so long for a scan..you must be very patient!
Popsycal, I have a March 2004 baby as well as expecting a March 2006 and agree March babies are fantastic...I just feel frisky in June it would seem!

romilly · 09/11/2005 16:11

lol lizzylou @ frisky in june - sorry to hear you had a nasty fall but well done for saving bump and kiddy!

good luck for your scan Zephyr

sorry to hear you are suffering from back and rib ache too jackstini. i am a bit ouchey in the rib department again today. guess its just making room.

i am getting pretty mammoth too, its hard to imagine that there is another four months of growing to go!

talking of stretchmarks, just read a stretchmark thread on here and not liking the sound of "looking like you've been attacked by a tiger"

Zephyrcat · 09/11/2005 18:12

Well after all that waiting it was a bit of a disaster!! The lady who was doing my scan was a right grumpy old bag and and a bad mood DD was really excited - I had shown her her scan pic and ds's and explained what it would look like and what she would see but the woman went over everything really quick and sort of mumbled "That was an arm, that was the other one, there's a leg" but she whizzed over them so dd couldn't see She couldn't get the right measurements because it was too hard to see apparently - although she was digging the thing into my stomach so hard i'm surprised she didn't see right round it's back!!! I asked if it was too soon to see the sex and just got a "Yep" so didn't dare ask anything else!! I told her my next appointment was with the consultant about having a cs so she said "well maybe he can scan you, ring the midwife instead of me booking you in now"
We got a crap picture too that cost a fiver lol

So all in all it was a bit of a waste of time!! Hopefully will get my next one next week or week after and hopefully with someone nice!
If it's not I might consider a private clinic - anyone looked into that option?

Jackstini · 09/11/2005 19:09

Oh Zephyr what a shame after all your patience. We have been looking into getting a 3-d scan done and some of those places also do regular scans too. Start cost is around 60 quid for 2-d, about 150 for 3-d but can go up to over 400 depending how many pics/dvds you want
Still got the rib ache - wondering if I am sitting too long at the computer!

Frizbe · 09/11/2005 19:57

re the rib ache jackstini, probably just growing....

Zephyr for you tho, just cause she was having a bad day, no need to take it out on you. Hope you get a better experience in a few weeks and of course your welcome to stay on here!

Newgirl lol at your dd!

Lol at Lizzylou too, frisky indeed!

Hi to all else, have just realised that in my busy state today, I've missed my midwifes apptmt which was this afternoon....argh! do you think she'll kill me.....oopse.....

poppyh · 10/11/2005 10:23

Hi everyone!!Hope all is well today.
Just got our Scenic, but havent had the nerve to drive it yet as it seems so big!!
Dh is taking me out for the day on Sat so hopefully will master it then!
Nothing much else going on bit bored really!
ZC, sorry your scan wasnt very nice, some people are so moody!
Better go, DD smells of poo!!Yuk!

desperatehousewife · 10/11/2005 11:55

very jealous of your scenic - it is my perfect car! I love them. Is it the new design?

I'm now feeling movements every day which is really nice - can't believe how late it is though (later than with DS!).

Nothing much to report. Was in hospital room for half an hour with friend in labour this week - quite freaked me out! She now has little girl.

poppyh · 10/11/2005 12:05

Hi DHW,
no unfortunately it is not a new model scenic, its an older one.But it has everything I need. All those kid friendly features like trays and drinks holders!
Never had such a modern car!

desperatehousewife · 10/11/2005 15:05

fantastic - they are lovely cars - we test drove one and I was really hoping we'd get one, but it was £2k more expensive than a same age Ford Focus C-Max, so DH insisted we got that instead !! Still great to have a big car though with a decent boot! I love it

OP posts:
romilly · 10/11/2005 16:36

zephyr - sorry to hear your scan lady was a miserable old trout how unnecessary for her to be like that, it really doesnt cost anything to be pleasant! lol at her nearly going through to your back with the thing on your tummy! makes you wonder if she is not a mother, surely anyone who has been pregnant must know what a big deal scan days are. having said that my sonographers were all men and they couldnt have been nicer and more sensitive.

Zephyrcat · 10/11/2005 19:33

I left a message for my midwife with the docs today that she needs to book me for another scan. I told my Mum last night as well and she said that she knows a doctor/consultant who runs a clinic for 3d/4d scans for about 100.00 so she's going to do some phoning around and see what she can find down here (she's a medical secretary) So that will be handy

I still haven't caught up with this thread - I must sit down with a good hour to spare and get reading!!!

Frizbe · 10/11/2005 19:54

Poppy congrats on the car must be lovely to have a new one.....{soon, sooon, soooon)
Well dh has started clearing out dd's new room today, but so far hasn't finished, he's still on the case at the moment! can't see dd moving rooms until next week tho.....
Have chucked another van load of junk today tho! hurrah! must be doing our Feng Shui some good!!

Have made another midwifes appt for 2 weeks time, as surgery can't get me in until then...oopse....they told me to ring midwife re this as it could be a problem.....her ansa tel, said to text, so I have done, awaiting reply.....argh!
