Ok well this is the only time I get to talk to you when I'm on nights...

...but if you don't want to talk to me fine...

munz · 01/11/2005 15:56

don't worry - done a new thread here to chat so we don't have to harrass these girls any more.

RosiePosie · 01/11/2005 16:26

Thanks munz - I'm sure your dh doesn't want to hear about my pelvic floor or other pregnancy related problems

munz · 01/11/2005 16:44

lol - sorry girls I did explain that to him! (sure he doens't want to hear about mine either! - in fact he doesn't! lol)

marne · 01/11/2005 17:31

Had my scan today, only just got home as had to go in 3 times as baby was curled up in a ball and refused to move, Anyway all was ok, having a little girl (another one) dd will be pleased.

catj, how did your scan go? did you find out the sex?

catj · 01/11/2005 18:21

Hiya!
Scan went well. I had to go in twice as baby was being unhelpful-even yawned during the first scan-cheeky monkey! I think they were being extra vigilant too as the nt scan showed high risk but thankfully nothing abnormal was found. I feel I can relax a bit more now & start planning properly. Think I might go for the P&T's after all. As this the last its about time I bought a brand new pushchair, even dd1's was 2nd hand at the time.
BTW don't know the sex as its not "hospital protocol" round here.

desperatehousewife · 01/11/2005 18:49

well done cat and marne - fantastic news. Sorry if there is anyone else that has had scans - I haven't had time to catch up on thread yet (been away since thurs). Glad to hear everyone is ok.

Great news about your scans girls

poppyh · 02/11/2005 10:23

Glad everyone ok.Have just bought some fab jeans from Topshop maternity. They are lovely.About time as I didnt have anything except a massive skirt from Primark to wear!

Lizzylou · 02/11/2005 10:25

Glad everyone's scans went well.
I have some fab maternity jeans but they keep falling off...I'm no skinny minny (have put on 1 1/2 stone!!!) but my bump seems very high and my ass just ends up on show permanently with mine!
Loving black and long cardis!

desperatehousewife · 02/11/2005 10:30

anyone know of any good maternity skirts?

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 02/11/2005 10:32

I have a nice dressy one from Next Directory and there seem some nice ones in Mothercare for casual..have to say I have been going to cheapy shops and bought massive sizes in "gypsy" skirts and they are really comfy...

munz · 02/11/2005 10:36

I got one from a metter - think it was DP one it's a wrap around jean one - v nice.

RosiePosie · 02/11/2005 10:58

I can't wear under the bump jeans - they just fall down, so I'm wearing some very sexy elasticated over the bump things.

newgirl · 02/11/2005 11:33

Hi everyone - lovely to hear all the news!

Is there a limit before we have to start a new thread?

Hello to Klara!

Well ladies, so much to catch up on. I'm fine and found out yesterday that another good friend is pregnant (may) so am really excited about that. I don't think I will have time to go back to work now - too much coffee and nattering to do!!

I had to look after a new baby girl the other day (just for a few mins) and me and DD were both very gooey over her so I am very excited now. Also very pleased about the fortune I will save on clothes.

Munz - hello - your dh sounds a laugh! I honestly wouldn't worry about the bonding thing - I love my dd more each day - they never fail to amaze you! I certainly didn't feel like that at first as I was getting to know the real her. Certainly didn't feel a bond with my bump - was more obsessed with getting the baby out!

Beef = big baby. Well, I think that was what did it for me!! I ate all beef things - even got upset at a burger van once insisting that I wanted one and my DH said I would probably poison myself and I got quite emotional. My Mum said 'if she needs a burger you must buy her a burger!!' my poor DH - two hormonal women! Being two weeks over due was probably the clincher though

marne - glad to hear you are ok. My huge tum is proof that bleeding doesn't have to be bad news.

poppyh - I am a huge fan of the topshop maternity stuff! My jeans from there are charcoal grey under bump and they are so comfy - expandable elastic keeps pinging off though!

romilly · 02/11/2005 14:47

great to hear everyones scans are going well

lol @ the munz's hijacking the ante-natal thread munz, sounds like your muttley is a sweetie-fiend too

lizzylou - i am also loving black and long cardis! well i always love black so nothing new there. i have the same problem with the jeans though, constantly hiking them back up as they make their way down my hips southwards! i am dreading the over the bump option though seems a bit drastic, lol

desperatehousewife · 02/11/2005 14:50

god, i'd be lost without over the bump by now. Loving the cosy tummy covered feeling! Bizarely still not feeling my little boy (feels weird being able to say that!)

RosiePosie · 02/11/2005 16:35

How many weeks are you now DHW? If you're worried, I'm sure the MW wouldn't mind popping in to see you, or you popping in to see her mid-appointment to listen to the heartbeat and reassure yourself. . .or have you got a doppler? I can't remember who has and who hasn't.

Frizbe · 02/11/2005 16:46

Rom et all, stick a belt on the under bump ones, that's what I've had to do! just loosely stops them falling down...

Marne a dd congrats and Catj congrats on your scan too!

I don't have any skirts that are maternity, just a large dp one! which is doing the trick at the mo, but 2nd the mothercare ones, look very nice, I just can't justify buying any more clothes at the mo...

Frizbe · 02/11/2005 16:47

Munz, if I were you I'd try n drag dh along shopping early to mid Jan, what if your early??

munz · 02/11/2005 18:26

ok caught up again,

friz - it all coms down to money/pay days etc - my money dopesn't go in till the 20th of each month so we'll be going out around then in january and hope/pray baby doesn't come sooner! lol. (we will have a crib, and hopefully mum will get the pram in the shop for us so (what with thaht and a few clothes/some nappies we will manage if he is early! lol)

DHW - no flutters or anything? - how did ur scan go/are u due one soon? (it is odd saying DS isn't it - ooh take it things were ok then - might be worth mentioning it to the m/w when u see her - are u going at 24 weeks?)

marne/catj - glad both ur scans went ok.

ng - don't think we have a limit on threads - god we'll be onto our fourth one next! DH has his moments of humour - althou it's normally laughing at me! lol. - that's how i'm feeling - just want this baby out safely. Is it right they have their own little personalities from the start? - or is that one of those debat things the whole natureVnurture thing?

rom - our dogs a little mare! will ahve to do u a piccy of the pair of them. unfortunatly I didn't have much of a choice with over the bump - besides which I hate hipster jeans pre PG - (I prefer to tuck it all in! lol) - and what a load there is to tuck in! lol - the girls commented today i'm really showing now

desperatehousewife · 02/11/2005 19:35

I'm 21 and a half weeks and no flutters really yet (had a couple which might well have been) but really expected more by now - bizarre. Not worried as had 20 week scan last week - saw him moving around, and yes I do have a doppler.

So maybe I just have a very chilled out baby, or just a very large, cavernous tummy (that's most likely!)

OP posts:
munz · 02/11/2005 19:36

if it's a quiet baby! lol.

spiker · 02/11/2005 23:45

hello all

Things have been very hectic and I haven't been able to check in for a while. Took me ages to read it all!

munz - my vital statistics are age 35, expecting no 2 on 23/03. I'm in SE London. You said you were thinking of Isaac as a name? I'm biased of course, as my ds is Isaac, which we shorten to Ike. I like Zachary.

lizzylou - i too have put on a scary amount of weight - about 1 and 1/4 stone - and I'm only halfway! I was slim(ish) to start but still, that's too much too soon (she says, helping herself to another choccie). I won't even have my first m/w appt until I'm 25 weeks (not including booking appt). I'm all for a relaxed, hands-off approach but, honestly, it seems verging on negligent!

My scan's not til 14 Nov and I'm getting quite impatient now. I've gone from non-flutters to full-on kicks and pokes, which DH can feel too.

SPD sufferers - where exactly does it hurt? I have a preg- related back problem (both pregnancies, but worse this time), but I don't think it's that. I could really do without having to carry a hefty toddler up to my second-floor flat every day. And if I bend over - I can't straighten up!

romilly · 03/11/2005 13:00

spiker - your midwife system sounds a bit like mine - and i am in SW London. its a little bit disconcerting when its your first! mine dont even let you have a listen to the heartbeat which pees me off a bit. they say "we dont want you to go home anxious if we dont find it". Nice.
