morning girls

good luck for all those going for scans today - cads that includes u! where eva u are! (or did u have ur's am I a week behind again?)

Friz - hope DD enjoys her day. glad it wasn't pox and she's doing OK.

catJ - we're now looking at the mama's and papa's selection of pramettes - tbh I don't have a bloody clue - taking DH up there on the w/e so far we keep(I keep) changing my mind! lol. althou travel system would be preferable.

RP/LL - i'm worried about the lack of bonding - tbh DH seems to be doing more than me with the talking to him and shaking him to wake him up - tbh I just feel like a fat bloater with huge boobies totally un attractive etc. (it's a shame as this is our first - when's the blooming stage start? lol)

hope everyone's doing OK today.

munz · 01/11/2005 10:23

friz - I knwo how scarey - in 2 weeks i've got my second m/w apt - i'll be 24+2 by then 6 months - 3rd trimester? - where's these 3 months gone??

Lizzylou · 01/11/2005 10:34

I've not got another MW appointment until 13th December! I'll be 28 weeks then! I did have another one the week after 20 week scan...apparently they have decided that they don't need to see you as often anymore, but I used to love going every 4 weeks and hearing baby's heartbeat! Helped with bloomin countdown too...

munz · 01/11/2005 10:46

LL - that's all i'm going for - and also to have my urine done - so far it's never been done is that normal? - friz - will also ask about GD whilst i'm there.

thell · 01/11/2005 12:37

Hmmm Munz....your urine should be checked at every mw appt, including the first/booking one - they check for glucose and protein. But I wouldn't worry - especially if your BP has been ok.

Hope everyone's feeling ok today.

munz · 01/11/2005 12:40

bp - first one was normal 12 weeks - 120/80 (or what ever the 'standard' is) as was the 10 week one. 16 week was 105/70 if I remember rightly - althou M/W said don't worry. didn't have it checked at 20 weeks. the week b4 my 16 week one it was 140/80 and the m/w said not to worry about it - as it was only a local nurse who did it and the room was v hot. - do get a lot of nose bleeds - I think i'll get the m/w to do it all at 24 weeks.

Klara · 01/11/2005 13:06

Are you all feeing your beanies moving around now? I felt mine for the 1st time last week and has been quite qctive for most of the weekend. Yesterday calmed down a bit (but heard the heartbeat at my midwife appt) and today can't feel anything much at all. SHould I be worried or has he/she just moved round to a different position?

klara

chjlly · 01/11/2005 13:22

Catj - I think you should be tight and buy your sisters travel system!!!

thell · 01/11/2005 13:32

Klara - I don't think you should worry at all. I first felt a gentle shifting at 17 weeks, which has gotten stronger but not necessarily more frequent. From what I can gather our beanies' movements vary a lot - it will only become predictable or more patterned in the last 8 - 10 weeks or so. And how much you feel will depend on which way your beany is facing, how active you are and the position you are in. My beany has discovered a new game of dancing around on the floor of my womb - it feels like she's trying to get out!

munz · 01/11/2005 13:35

thell - i'm so glad u've said thaht - i'm feeling - what can only be descibed as flutterings but really low down (so much so it feels ahem like i'm farting from the front - i'm not honest!).

klara - my movements come and go - I had a few days with loads of movement - althou i'vve found when I give hte dogs a really long walk and chase them about there's not much movement - I have quite a bit during the day thou normally. suppose it depends on where baby is.

thell · 01/11/2005 13:50

I've read that the baby is more likely to be still when you are active because you are essentially rocking them to sleep with your movements! (Altogether -ahhhhhh!)
That's why they tend to do acrobatics when you're relaxed and, yes, just when you're trying to get to sleep!

LOL Munz! - exactly!

Jackstini · 01/11/2005 13:57

Hi all,
I had a very boring weekend - did the food shopping and lay on the sofa a lot. Think I was just so knackered after Brighton
Have still not felt any movements but keep listening to the doppler so not too worried. Next scan on Thurs so will see it moving again!
Have started talking to bump more now and dh kisses it goodbye every morning. Is it easier to bond if you know the sex? (I ask as I don't want to find out, want a surprise but realise I can't start using a name yet)
Also doing the 'looking at travel systems' thing. DH is particularly keen on a mamas & papas one at the moment but we will see. He also likes one of their wardrobes but it is 800 quid!!! - Er....NO

Frizbe · 01/11/2005 14:16

Jackstini if you can afford the expensive wardrobe go for it oh how I dream of the day we can spend that much money full stop!!!

Munz, round here they test urine every time you go in?

Hi to everyone else, nothing to report here today, dd is officially 2! and she's at nursery as I've been out working all morning, and I start again in two hours until 10sih tonight! so just enough time to run around the house doing chores before I go! (poor old dd has to come with me later and wait with me whilst dh gets home for work, and comes to find us to pick her up!!)

Klara · 01/11/2005 14:17

to be honest - the other (pretty daft) thing is that I think that in the night I am still sleeping on my front, although it's getting to be a stuggle to manage and I am worried ai am squashing the bean - not possible surely though?

Lizzylou · 01/11/2005 14:30

Klara, I keep waking up on my front (not v comfy as I am a whale!) and have had a few very sleepless nights trying to get comfortable...I find I feel more movements last thing at night just as I am lying down and also after a swim...also if my knickers are too tight (all the time then!)
But this is my 2nd and I am 22 weeks now, so that could be why..

thell · 01/11/2005 14:32

Klara, I'm sure you're not squashing the bean! I still find it much more comfy to sleep in what is essentially the recovery position - on my front, but supported by bent leg in front. I think it supports the bump better than just lying on your side. You'll move when it gets to uncomfortable.

Also, I've always find I feel beany move more if I'm lying on my back or reclining on the sofa - because gravity sqhashes everything down inside making it easier to feel the wriggles. Could be why yours seems so quiet - there's still just plenty of space in there to move!

munz · 01/11/2005 14:46

Thell - that's how I sleep, don't mind back but it hurts when I turn over/if I strech too much. (so now do in v v slowly!)

jack - ditto friz - if u can spend it why not! we're hoping to save up about £500 to go shopping with at the end of jan and buy everyhting in babies r us in one go.

munz · 01/11/2005 14:47

is anyone else also finding their knickers gettin tight I got some new ones - not much elastic granted but at 24-26 inches they should be a snug fit - but the're too small after only 2 weeks of having them will ahve to buy some big granny ones! lol.

MunnziesDH · 01/11/2005 15:10
