Have you got a girl followed by a boy, ZC?

Another reason why a girl would have been useful, lol - I have all of dd's clothes left over and none of ds's because he's that much older. And dd will have to share with her baby brother for the time being (once he's out of our room ) because they'll be so much closer in age, and I don't think it will be fair on my five yr old ds to share with the baby - not when he has school etc. I don't think boys and girls sharing is a problem when they're little though - I shared a bedroom with my brother until I was 10!

Zephyrrywitchescat · 21/10/2005 10:20

Yes i've got dd first, 3.10 and ds is 16 months. They are very close. I see 3 like my Mum and her brothers - my Mum was the eldest followed by 2 and it's always been my mum and the youngest brother - they've always 'disliked' the middle one and I can't bear to think of ds being a middle one!! I'm sure it's not like that with everyone though. I hope!!! I'm the other way around - I've got bags and bags of ds clothes and no girls ones left!!

I'm also trying desperately to nag dp into getting the snip!! The good thing is that I always felt like I might want another with ds but this one has given me definate closure!! No more. Ever!!!

RosiePosie · 21/10/2005 10:30

I know what you mean, although after two we said "no more" and this one was an accident, I've always felt that I would like three, it just seems "right". I don't think I felt left out because I was the middle child, more because I was the only girl, but that was made worse because I was the only girl in the whole family - all my cousins are boys too. I should stop comparing it to how my childhood was, and just enjoy it!

Zephyrrywitchescat · 21/10/2005 10:32

Snap - this one was very accidental and a big shock but it feels like i'm finished now - never had that with ds, i hated thinking he was the last one! Could just be that I'd forgotten how much I hate being pg!!

munz · 21/10/2005 10:33

just quickly girls b4 we gointo town shopping- i'm back - baby's fine measuring between 20-21 weeks averaged out. all healthy wasn't impressed by us nosing about! lol - I see the face clearly, opened eyes and the hearty beat etc.. found out sex as well - cheeky monkey opened the legs then closedthem tight again so we couldn't see! but pleasse to announce we're having a boy.

(sorry rom guess u were right and I was wrong! lol) now got to think of a boys name - DH is OK abaout it we'll keep on trying apparently till we have a girl - oh really!

Zephyrrywitchescat · 21/10/2005 10:36

Awww bless!!!!!! Congratulations on your ds Munz

RosiePosie · 21/10/2005 10:38

That's fabulous news, munz! Little boys are gorgeous . Mine was lying there with his legs splayed, so there was no mistaking it, lol - you can even see it on the scan picture. Enjoy your shopping - go and buy a little blue outfit!

poppyh · 21/10/2005 11:50

Well done Munz!!Glad your boy is happy and well.
RP, Can completely emphasise with you. This is my final baby and i really want a girl.Would love Dd to have a sister and they have to share a room.Have a girls name too.Am convinced that im having a boy though and although I dont really mind, I guess its more final when its your last isnt it.

Cadmum · 21/10/2005 12:43

YEAH munzie! (I told you it must be a little man!!) Boys are so lovely and every little girl needs a big brother. Hope you and DH are not too disappointed. (At least you have 18-20 weeks to get used to the idea...)

poppyh · 21/10/2005 13:26

Cadmum, whens your scan?

Jackstini · 21/10/2005 13:45

Yea Munz - congratulations on your boy! My scan is not until 3rd Nov and then if we have a 3D one it will be a month after that. Have had an antenatal this morning though for my 2nd lot of blood tests. MW said everything fine from the first lot & baby feels ok. I have only put on 1.5kg so far so dh is constantly reminding me I am not eating enough. I am reminding him I will eat what I want, when I want & he can butt out!

Cadmum · 21/10/2005 13:56

My scan is on Tuesday. I have not really put on weight either but I also eat what I want, when I want...

thell · 21/10/2005 14:20

I'm currently at my pre-pregnancy weight at 21wks, after losing 1/2 stone during the first trimester, and I seem to be holding it. Hopefully should put on weight from now - but no-one has shown any concern as baby seems fine. I've heard other people tell me they lost loads of weight in pregnancy at the beginning, so I really wouldn't worry. 1.5kg is good!
Some preg bible type books do mention that some women lose weight in the first trimester, so if you can find an excerpt like that to show DH he might be reassured!

munz · 21/10/2005 14:35

thnks for the congrats girls, it's just a relief to see he's ok.

we're too upset - just got to pick a name now! I don't mind, i'd have loved a girl for pheobe as the name - but tbh deep down I wanted a boy first as I have an older bro and it's nice to have an older bro I think - so i'm OK - DH is ok really - says as long as he's born ok two arms/leg/ healthy etc.. baby's today head down - and feet are in my left rib cage - which is what I thought as I keep having pains there! lol. MW seemed happy enough.

i'm still 8 loo papers - think so far i've put on 2 kg - (perhaps now 3) as last time weighted was at 12 weeks - and I was 7 tp so prob now another kg which isn't too bad as they do say 12lb to put on isn't it?

RP - i've bought half of adams, ethal austin and anything else! lol. (well not quite half! lol) we went to a nice cafe for brekkie as well - so am v happy today - all that needs is for me to tidy the house

hope the other girls got on OK.

Frizbe · 21/10/2005 14:50

poppyh · 21/10/2005 14:51

Sorry!!

munz · 21/10/2005 14:54

friz - I know spoke to SIL (they've been together for 5 years) and apparently she really slapped him one - tbh he deserved it so no sympathy at all! I really feel for her still v at bro - but he is bro and tbh it could be worse iycwim - just hope he's not cuaght anything that can't be treated. apparently he said to DH don't tell sis as she'll tell mum damn straight I would - if I can't get there to slap him then mum can do it for me! lol.

pop - what a bargin eh! lol.

Frizbe · 21/10/2005 15:03

Munz, I'd have done more than slapped him.......lets hope its treatable, so have you told your mum?

munz · 21/10/2005 15:05

no - bloody cheek she already knew and didn't tell me - so when I told her today I knew she went all oh ok then still not to worry - I don't know if she'll stick with him after this - highly doubtful - althou DB's not sure he wants to be with her as she won't commit - ie marriage/babies etc and he's 25 feeling the clock ticking! lol.

(can't say much about the cheating part as I did do that to DH b4 we married - but the other bit - well I mean he should have taken precautions - I just hope the unbrella thingy they do really hurt)

Frizbe · 21/10/2005 15:13

OUCH! Munz I can't believe you'd wish that on your db!

munz · 21/10/2005 15:29

lol - well i'm sorry but if he's gonna be doing things like that and be silly about it even if he's drunk then well I hope it did hurt! - apparently that was the first time he spoke to DH about it - I assuming he was asking if DH ever had one done (which he hasn't I might add) lol - he's hoping it's just a water infection but with all the risks about he couldn't take any chances so had to come clean to SIL as well. still say serves him right! lol.

Frizbe · 21/10/2005 15:39

off to the std clinic for him then

munz · 21/10/2005 15:41

he's been and they gave him some pills and said it should clear anything - he's gott o wait for a month then have the aids test - which tbh is the one he's most scared of - I had it at 12 weeks and I was scared enough knowing i'd only been witih DH! - just hope it serves now so he remebers to keep everything covered up. i'm so glad I don't ahve to worry aboutt hat any more.
