Frizbe · 18/10/2005 17:41

DHW = ME!!!! annouced last week

Hi Thell, nice to see you on here too! as you can see I'm also hedging my bets!!

thell · 18/10/2005 17:43

Yes - I didn't want to say anything just in case it was a secret!

romilly · 18/10/2005 19:05

poked my nose on earlier to check how our scan girls were getting on, but didnt get a chance to post

congrats rosieposie - fab news !!! so the next ones are dhw and munzie on friday, right? how about lizzylou and caddy?

i have to wait until next thursday for my scan. got v. impatient yesterday and had to go to docs anyway as my iron is still dropping lower and lower - so persuaded doc to check babys heartbeat for me which was all good .

welcome thell - as everyone knows i can fully sympathize with you on the sickness front - isnt it just so grim. like you, i had it all day/all night - no letting up - and now at nearly 20 weeks i still have the odd chuck! hate it! i still feel sick most of the time too. i just keep telling myself it will all be worth it.

thell · 18/10/2005 19:17

It is completely depressing, isn't it?
For a while I thought that if I was still sick after 16 weeks I would probably be sick all the way through, but several women have mentioned to me recently that their sickness only began to go away at 20 or 24 weeks.
There's hope for us yet!

Cadmum · 18/10/2005 19:19

Hello all!

Congratulations RP. How exciting! You were absolutely correct.

My scan is next Tuesday. Doubt I will ask for the sex though.

I am off to listen to DD read me a book!

romilly · 18/10/2005 19:26

hi caddy - oh do we have to wait 'til march for you then?!
i admire your will power

thell - i have to tell myself that it will stop at 20 weeks- i need to think that, at least for now! my mother had it for four months every pregnancy (4 kids) so she did warn me.

Cadmum · 18/10/2005 19:51

It is one of life's greatest moments for me when I get to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl.

munz · 18/10/2005 20:00

ok - u lot nattered again today!

Rom - glad u heard hte heart and all's ok, was DH there? - least sickness is hopefully easing up a bit?

RP - big congrats on the little boy - any names yet? (we'll have to up date our stats list now)

jack/EM - glad ot have u back, and all's well with bump. hope u both get on ok with ur scans.

LL - not long now - only 3 more sleeps

Zeph - i've managed to borrow my doppler - but would say borrow/hire them if you can.

think DH is home - gonna try to talk him inot letting me buy a new car! :0 - toyota carola verso - v nice by the looks of it - only an extra £5 per month for insurnace - just got to see if the payments are more than whta we're paying now - if they are he won't go for it - if not - might stand a chance!

Frizbe · 18/10/2005 20:32

Oh gaw'd better check the insurance out on the citroen we're thinking of buying....had 'forgotten' about that!
Whose doing the stats update then Rom, are you volunteering to keep track of us all?!!

RosiePosie · 19/10/2005 08:08

Hi Thell,

My original due date was 28th Feb, the 12 week scan moved it to the 26th Feb, but my lovely MW has written it on my notes as 3rd of March to stop them hassling me for induction if I go late (which I usually do), so that's what I'm sticking with! If this baby follows my pattern, it will come in March anyway.

I'm on such a high from the scan yesterday and feel more connected with the baby already - I was in denial a bit before I think . . . I couldn't possibly be expecting a third baby

Thanks for all your lovely words of congrats - can't wait to hear the results of the next scans!

Lizzylou · 19/10/2005 08:53

HI Thell,
Munz- I really like those Toyota Corolla Verso's..there was one in a carpark near me and I had a peak to see what it was (I am useless with cars) looks nice and roomy and Toyota's are supposed to be very reliable aren't they?
RP- Francis is a lovely name
Frizbe- congrats on having a girl, sorry I missed your announcement, any names?
Romilly- hopefully your sickness will stop soon, they do say you have similar pregnancies to your Mom, altho mine haven't been anywhee near the same!
Everyone else, hope you are all feeling OK xxx

munz · 19/10/2005 09:00

i'll do another stats if no one else wants to.

LL - yes - tbh from the outside they look a bit horrid - and small, but inside driving - I tell u they're so spacious - we'd get the two dogs out lugage a baby and pram in the back. bit on the wide side but only cos i'm used to a small car - and they got 5 stars - what ever that means for top gear?? tried to tlak DH into it - he said erm - only if we can get electric everything (as is in our current car) and cruise control which is looking at a lot more so doubtful the HP would be the same oh well we'll be keeping ours for a while longer.

Rosie - really glad u're feeling more connected to ur baby.

ooh spanish woman's finally given up the goast and said thanks for her figurers (which we all ok yesterday - just neede presenting in a differnt way to her)

Zephyrrywitchescat · 19/10/2005 09:44

Wow loads of catching up to do!! all these scans!! But so pleased for everyone Can't wait to get a date for ours - like RP, I might actually connect with it a bit then - I think I'm still in shock at this one!!! I'm more nervous with this one than I was with the first two but I'm putting down to the fact that I wasn't mentally prepared to be pregnant again so soon - if ever!! But then ds is sooooo cute at the moment (16 months) that I could quite easily have another one of him - but am convinced this one is a girl.

Will def show dp the dopplers and see what he thinks if we can find a way of hiring as we don't have a credit/debit card at the mo so might be a problem!

Am finally starting to feel a bit more 'energetic' than ill! (about bloody time!!) but am still unbelievably tired so am wondering if it could be iron maybe.
The SPD is killing me!! If it's this bad now I dread to think what it'll be like at 30-40 weeks!! Hows yours RP?

Frizbe · 19/10/2005 10:12

{{{{Hugs}}} with the SPD Zephyr, I get the odd day where everything seems to ache down there, if I stand/walk for too long, I'm getting pains down one leg, but bar that appear to be holding up this time.....you have my deepest sympathy hon....
LizzyLou, not many name ideas so far! think we might go with poppy as the only one we can both agree on at the mo!
Munz, phew re Spanish Woman....
RP I'm bound to be March too, be very surprised if I'm feb!

desperatehousewife · 19/10/2005 10:43

oh friz - i'm so sorry i missed your scan announcement! Maybe we should start another thread - this one is getting out of control!!

Really sorry about the SPD girls - must be hellish.

Had a really hot curry last night and woke at 2.30 with excrutiating sharp pains in my tummy - coulnd't get comfy and was awake for hours. Really scared! Think gut just didn't like the heat of the curry!

My scan isn't until next weds.

can't wait!

poppyh · 19/10/2005 10:47

Friz, Poppy, what a lovely name!!
Hi Thell, hope you are well.
LL, we were looking at the Yaris Verso, really ugly car but brill!!We are now looking at a second hand Renault Scenic as its a bit cheaper.
On the names front, Dh and i still cannot agree on anything.Hoping it will be easier after our scan.

RosiePosie · 19/10/2005 12:16

The SPD is okay as long as I don't actually do anything remotely strenuous. I can potter about, but I can't even hoover without it hurting! I'm just taking it as easy as possible. I'm very worried about what it's going to be like towards the end too. I had to go shopping this morning as our oven is broken and can't be repaired until next week, so I needed to stock up on things that can be cooked on the hob and microwaved and now it's really sore again

poppyh · 19/10/2005 13:45

RP, I have sciatic pain so I emphasise.I too worry about how much worse it will get.Cant pick up DD anymore.
waiting for a back appointment at hospital.

desperatehousewife · 19/10/2005 13:54

you ladies should be having tesco or whoever deliver your shopping. NO more lifting heavy things. Really look after yourselves...got a while to go yet!

OP posts:
munz · 19/10/2005 13:55

agree with DHW - either that or send ur HD/p's out to get it all.

thell · 19/10/2005 14:24

Hello chaps!

I've just spent TWO HOURS at the hospital having scan at 21 wks !!
Baby ended up co-operating, but in own sweet time!! Each time the sonographer needed to see a different angle, I had to wander off round the corridors and return to give babs the chance to move round.

All is well though - four beautifully clear chambers of the heart pumping away, all other bits in order. Fabulous to see little ankles crossed, hands up by face and mouth opening and closing! Bursting with pride .
Strangely one of the nicest things was being able to see the movements and feel them at the same time.

Took 1h1/2 of teasing us before we could see that she is a GIRL!!
So I was completely wrong, and we'll have to think of another name. Don't think Bertie is quite right somehow,...

poppyh · 19/10/2005 14:32

Conrgrats on your girl Thell!!

desperatehousewife · 19/10/2005 14:35

oh thell that's fantastic news! what abour roberta?!!!!!!

OP posts:
munz · 19/10/2005 14:37

Lizzylou · 19/10/2005 14:37

Oh Congrats Thell!
So, so far we have two girls and a boy....

I symphathise with those with back probs/SPD, last pg I was crippled with Sciatica and back ache, but no sickness, this time had sickness but no back probs (as of yet)...it is so painful and debilitating, so hope you feel better xxx

I am obsessed with new cars but have no money, so can only continue to dream!
