oh u and me both right now - can u believe JM&B hasn't had them - or heard of them so i'm sending some over for her! lol.

lol@ur DH being stuck on the M1 - oh well lol. as long as u and bump r safe! lol.

think I might get DH to see then if he can feel anything - althou in his words his hands aren't exactly soft and gentle lol.

RosiePosie · 17/10/2005 13:21

Hi all

I was feeling very obvious movements, but for the past few days they have felt much more muted (if you see what I mean!) and my bump, which was hard, now feels softer. I think the baby must have shifted round and is facing the other way - kicking me inwards. . .atleast I hope that's what it is! I sold my doppler, because I was feeling movements so well, and now I wish I hadn't, because I could do with the reassurance! Oh well, I have my scan tommorrow at 1.30 . . .

poppyh · 17/10/2005 13:34

Rp, scan tomorrow, lucky thing!!
Munz, Friz is right am sure only really aware of movements as its my third baby.
7pm scan, yes its weird, but at least I can park at the hospital for once without getting a ticket!!
I can actually see baby move if I look at my tummy sometimes which is very weird!!

desperatehousewife · 17/10/2005 13:50

I am not really feeling any movement - a couple of times I've had the vaguest flutter but nothing else. I'm 19 weeks and this is my second baby! How late am I?! But I didn't feel DS move (flutters) until about 23 weeks. Guess I'm just a late developer!!!!!!!!

Munz, totally normal to worry so much - I was consumed with worry about everything with DS. I believe that from the second you get pregnant you worry thereafter for the rest of your life. Won't be as intense as the first time your'e preg though.

Will do Friz - am very excited about my little business venture. Always have ideas, but never get round to pursuing any of them and for once in my life i feel we've hit on a good idea and desperately want to do something drastic in our lives and spend more time together as a family. Don't want to bore everyone on here - but Friz, can I CAT you a paragraph about what I'm planning to offer for your honest feedback?

Hi all! Quick qiestion for those of you with dopplers - I want to get one so I can let dd have a play with it and listen to the baby. She heard it the other day at my appointment but was a bit confused because she expected it to sound like her heart does with her stethoscope - bless her
So, are there good/bad ones, are they expensive, can you hire them for a short time etc etc?

desperatehousewife · 17/10/2005 14:31

you can hire them, not sure where from though. I bought mine from someone on mumsnet - but you can get them on ebay too.

Expect to pay anything from £60 upwards, normally around £80 I think.

I got one as I thought I could ebay/mumsnet it afterwards.

Frizbe · 17/10/2005 14:54

RP good luck with scan
DHW course you can cat me!

RosiePosie · 17/10/2005 15:29

I bought mine for £80 and sold it 3 months later for £55. You can hire them - just google it and several places come up, for about £25 a month I think.

newgirl · 17/10/2005 21:49

hi everyone

munz - my scan is 3 on friday!! just found my sample pot so I am all organised. No idea if they want one but I best be organised!! I got some pains when I moved the other night - I think it's muscles creaking. It is worrying but I think babies are pretty tough in there.

dhw - that website was right - no idea why she isn't advertising the yurt - maybe she wants it for her personal use! Why not email her and go on a recky - would be a laugh.

feel quite perky at the mo - I think the pregnancy vitamins have kicked in. Or maybe its the fruit cake.

munz · 18/10/2005 08:05

RP - gpod luck today.

NG - r we ment to take a sample? - mine doesn't say just says to drink 1L of fluids! lol.

catch up properly in work.

Lizzylou · 18/10/2005 08:45

HI all

Been busy for a while, so no posting, but "at work" for two days so will be making up for it!
Good luck for those with scans...mine is 11.20am on Friday...very excited, although I won't be finding out the sex! Last time this scan was amazing, I loved it...
Re: movements, mine come and go, I normally get some movements near to bed time, but they are not that frequent, the size the baby is at the moment and the size of my belly, I am not surprised!!!

xxx

Frizbe · 18/10/2005 09:29

Good luck with the scans today ladies!
I didn't drink anything before my scan this time? and all was ok.....you don't need to pee in a pot for the scans either! as sonographers don't look at that sort of thing, although you will still see a midwife straight after to discuss the results...... usually you'll have a midwife appt for the week after as well.

Jackstini · 18/10/2005 14:10

Hi all - feels like ages since I have been on. Was on my hols for 2 weeks and you have all been very talkative - taken me an hour just to skim read!
Feeling tiredness so much more now (am 18 wks today) Found heartbeat with doppler last night and felt relieved baby had enjoyed hols ok too. DH loves hearing heartbeat - is about 150 bpm so quite healthy. Am getting a few aches & flutters but no definate kicks yet. DH can hear 'sloshing' though when he listens to my belly.
Glad you are all doing well - such an exciting time with all the 20 week scans!!! Have got to wait til 3rd Nov for mine but looking forward to hearing all about all of yours

RosiePosie · 18/10/2005 14:39

Well, I'm just back from the scan . ..and. . . I was right! It's a boy . I was so certain it was, if they'd told me it was a girl I would have fallen off the bed I think! There was no mistaking it either .

I'm slightly mourning the little sister that my dd will never have, as I have two brothers and miss not having a sister even now, but thrilled that all seems okay.

Lizzylou · 18/10/2005 14:43

Congratulations RP! Boy babies love their mummy, they are fab!
I have no definite feelings either way about what the sex is with mine, although last time I was convinced it was a girl and it wasn't! I really don't care either way though...ooh, I really want to find out though!

RosiePosie · 18/10/2005 14:47

I just knew because having one of each already, I was comparing this pregnancy to the other two, and this one has been almost identical to how it was when I was expecting my ds. I didn't have a clue with the other two, lol.

Lizzylou · 18/10/2005 14:49

Well, this pregnancy is very different to last....and the heartbeat was a lot faster....sooooo, oh b*gger it, I really want to know!!!!!!

poppyh · 18/10/2005 15:06

Congrats RP!!Im think Im having a boy as ive had no sickness.Only 6 days till D Day!!Have you got any boys names yet?

RosiePosie · 18/10/2005 15:33

That's the same as me PH, I was nauseous for a few weeks with the boys, and very sick for much longer with my girl. And the boys have been much wrigglier! We think he will be Francis, but it's not set in stone yet.

desperatehousewife · 18/10/2005 15:35

RP - that is SOooooo exciting! The first baby sex announced on here! Congratulations.

Getting real now isn't it?

hope you enjoy being able to visualise better now what you're having and not calling 'it' but 'he'!

Frizbe · 18/10/2005 16:13

Welcome back Jackstini, take it you had a good time!
Congrats on the boy RP! so that's one girl and one boy on the thread so far, whose next?

desperatehousewife · 18/10/2005 16:52

Who else has announced? Oh my god, i've missed an announcement....who is having a girl????? .

Friz, thanks for your fab feedback on my yurt site idea! Really appreciate that.

Hello chaps,
I joined the 'due Feb' thread yesterday and have become addicted to MN already, so thought I'd pop my head in here too!

I'm due 28th Feb with my first - it will probably turn up at some point in March, but the Feb ladies are that bit ahead for warnings and advice!
I feel quite certain I'm having a boy, but for no special reason - I get to find out at my scan tomorrow!! Terribly exciting

I've been pretty sick - all day sickness only began to abate at around 18 weeks and I still get horrible queasies in the morning. But then again this baba bypassed the 'fluttering' movements and moved straight to kicking me. So make of that what you will! Can't wait to find out and see the bean wriggling around again
