god only another week til you find out...how exciting! I think it's the most exciting bit (apart from seeing the baby for the first time in the flesh) finding out what it is. Is it Tues for you?

I'm the following weds!

My scan must be the day before yours then DHW because I am a week Tuesday (think it is the 25th). I doubt if I will ask to know the gender because I love the surprise but the suspense is killing me this time and I would love to be able to tell the children so they don't get their hopes up too high...

RosiePosie · 12/10/2005 17:33

Yes, Tuesday. This week is going slow slowly!Actually, I've never experienced that Wow factor as soon as they're born - I hand them to dh and demand a cup of tea, lol. I just think "oh, it's a baby, thank goodness that's over". It takes me a few weeks to bond, it seems. Maybe this time will be different, you never know.

RosiePosie · 12/10/2005 17:34

so slowly, not slow slowly. ..must stop being too lazy to preview.

munz · 12/10/2005 17:44

ooh that's intresting RP - I was hoping that this baby would be nice and relaxed after the scan where it just didn't move apart form to strech the legs - but after today's little i'm gonna make u have a flutter fit every 10 minutes (or felt like that!) might be wrong - so could be a boy after all

so who's next for scans then? - is it u rosie?

toothyboy · 12/10/2005 20:36

Hi everyone!

DHW - I'm going to try for a VBAC this time. I had an emergency c-section last time due to ds' heartbeat dropping with every contraction in the early stages of labour, after being induced. Personally I couldn't contemplate having an elective section! I am so squeamish, the prospect of knowing this far in advance that I was going to be cut open again would finish me off!
At least last time I only had less than an hour's notice that it was going to happen and there were far too many other things going on to dwell on it! If I have to have another section, then so be it, but I couldn't voluntarily put myself up for it!!

Frizbe · 12/10/2005 20:39

Thanks for the offer DHW, but I'll stick with what I've got! have to say this one is a bouncy bean, like its sister!! so that disproves the girls are quiet theory (Munz breathes sigh of relief).....dh says they all have my energy and his stubborness....
Looks like your next then RP!
Cadmum, do you think you could know and tell the kids without dh finding out?? just find out and tell us lot, promise we won't tell him
Well had good news tonight, in that a friend who I was pregnant with last time, who was 1.5 mths behind me with her ds, is 3 mths pregnant again! so our new babies will have playmates too hurrah! also someone to whinge with in person about our aches and pains

Frizbe · 12/10/2005 20:39

Oh Dh also brought me home a lovely bunch of flowers (and that doesn't happen very often!)

toothyboy · 12/10/2005 20:46

Lucky you Friz! Dp has never bought me flowers in the 7 yrs we've been together!!
I've just read through and seen you're all talking about scans and finding out what you're having. My scan's on 26th and I won't be finding out the sex. I've got the little boy I always wanted so really don't mind what this one is!

spiker · 12/10/2005 21:01

Frizbe - my best friend and I managed to have our first ones (both boys) 3 days apart, and now we're expecting our seconds on the same day!

DHW - my DS is an (admittedly very bouncey) sweetie and is terrorised by a vicious biting little girl at his nursery (I think the last bite is going to leave a permanent scar). Don't think I've ever met a little girl who was less lovely, gentle or quiet!

I'm hoping for a boy again purely because DH and me have agreed on a great name already and we have no common ground on girls' names at all. So I'm going to find out the sex this time in case we need to start picking names out of hats or something. I'm convinced it's a girl because I've been so sick though.

poppyh · 13/10/2005 10:53

Friz, you lucky thing!!my scan is monday 24th,cant wait.Would love another girl as have the clothes.Cant help thinking its a boy this time as my sickness hasnt been so bad.Oh well, lets see how long 10 days drag!!
Hope everyone else is ok.

newgirl · 13/10/2005 11:15

Wow lots to catch up! here goes (although I should be working!)

dhw - I don't have the mag anymore as i tend to drown in them. It would have been easy living or eve. I think it was early spring. you could hire them for a weekend or week hol and it was quite expensive - £500 a week I think. I am still not sure what to do about VBAC - I had emergency c last time and I am not sure what to do this time. I do know a friend who had a home birth after a c-section and was fine - very pleased. I also know one who had an elective after an emergency and she was fine too! She was offered hers though so didn't need to argue for it.

lizzie - I think I just look fat too. I had to stand on the train yesterday and stuck out my tummy but no one offered...

munz - how crap about your boss. my bosses have always been crap about pregnancy - even though I always had appts at start of day and never missed a day of work. i wonder whether these people would just rather that the population fizzled out and noone had babies at all.

cadmum - i didn't know that about the thanksgiving - its nice to learn something new!

RP - great tip on the spatone - i will get some too as i feel anaemic - all blurry and tired - and the tablets made life very tricky last time I took them!!

rom - I'm 18 weeks and I still don't feel blooming to be honest - too tired and spotty for that!!

spiker - i was just thinking about the biting - that sounds awful. at our nursery, a parent was asked to take the child out for a while until she got over her biting phase.

my top tip for the day is TOP SHOP do Maternity!! I got some very cool jeans in there yesterday and the dresses were gorgeous - shame I don't need one. The swimsuits were a bit skimpy on me. Liked it a lot!! also they gave us free bottles of water when we were got to the changing room!

Cadmum · 13/10/2005 13:02

Hello!

Hope you are all well. My SIL was admitted to hospital yesterday at 32 weeks with what my FIL described as some kind of a 'show'. I am hoping to hear that all is well soon. Her other children were all a few days late and born at home... She must not be very happy.

I have nothing exciting to report but the next few weeks should be fun with all of the scans coming up. I am excited to hear what everyone is having. (How pathetic am I?)

munz · 13/10/2005 13:16

oooooooooh friz - thank you for tellin me u have a bouncing bean! I said to DH last night I thought it was gonna be a boy and he refused to accept it - so when I said well it will be tough, he sulked a bit but will get over it! lol - found out my cousins g/f is having a little boy (another one) - she has a 2 year old from a prev relationship it's due on the 28th feb apparently so i'm really hoping for a girl now so we have one of each - besides I still love pheobe althou isobelle is back in the running again. - prefer pheobe thou. the flowers I've only had one lot and I had to ask for those! lol, choccy's/teddys/bars of diary milk he's good with thou! (ooh apart form the ones when he was abroad and I accused him of sending flowers to someone else! lol)

cadmum - I hope all goes well for ur SIL. I don't think u're sad wanting to know whta everyone's having - so do I lol! - i'm retracting my girl theory and gonna say u're having a boy!

NG - he's ok about being PG esp as i've now told him i'll be coming back after leave - we're entering negotiations in dec time but i'm aiming for 20 hours per week max - 3 mornings at home and one in the office, a £1.00 p/h pay rise to reflect extra costs - ie internet and electric etc. and gonna see what he says - i'm hoping he'll go for it. (the pay will just be the issue really I think) he might want 2 mornings in the office which wouldn't be too bad as it would be one in nursey and one with DH looking after baby.

hope everyone's doin ok today. off to finish my tomato pasta!

Cadmum · 13/10/2005 14:09

Munz: I guess you can test your theory about this baby being a boy in about 5 months then!!! I think that it is a girl but I really don't have a preference either way and neither does DH... We also haven't agreed on any names so whatever happens, happens.

romilly · 13/10/2005 15:08

cant keep up with you idle chatters

spiker - your last paragraph could have been me talking. we also want to know the sex, for - amongst other reasons - ease of naming. it at least counts out half the problem, as we cant seem to find a name we both love.

munz - my scan is the 27th (cant remember if i told you that) - as cadmum said i am really looking forward to hearing about everyones scans too. so its DHW, rosieposie, poppy, you and caddy, then me.... who else coming up?

newgirl - glad its not just me who is tired and blurry - but sorry for you at the same time IYKWIM

munz · 13/10/2005 15:15

lizzylou's the same day as me rom.

soo exciting hearing what we're all having.

Frizbe · 13/10/2005 15:24

Hi all!
Spiker cool re same day babies! umm what to do about the biting girl tho....might be worth taking it up with nursery to do a bit more about it me thinks....
Cadmum hope your sil is ok

Well could have done with out what just happened this afternoon, out with dd, nearly got into town, a few streets walk away, dd is insisting she walks, so I'm holding her hand and pushing the buggy...hear her peep, look down and she's trodden in some bloody dog do....which she then proceedes to get on both shoes, up the side, as I try and put her in pushchair to race home and clean her up, up her skirt and tights, onto her finger, which she then tries to put in her mouth....I must have looked like a psycho off supernanny, dragging her down the street by the arm, as she kept refusing to walk, or trying to run off up peoples drives, covered in poo .....all clothes and coat now in wash, along with shoes sitting in bleach after a scrub....grrrrrr so mad at the people who don't clean up after their animals.....wouldn't mind, but the street actually has signs all over it warning of fines, and some residents have them in their windows, so looks like they're up in arms about it already....argh! slowly starting to see the funny side.....so long as dd doesn't go down with some horrible disease.....

munz · 13/10/2005 15:30

oooooooooooh friz - I can't stand it when dog owners do that! - and I am one!

Frizbe · 13/10/2005 15:34

Thaks for the support munz, really gets on my nerves too!

Zephyrrywitchescat · 13/10/2005 16:38

Hi all Can now officially confirm that I am actually pregnant lol Just been for my booking in and heard the heartbeat Really has put my mind at ease. She said i'll get a letter for a dating scan so it should hopefully be around the same time as some of you are getting yours - I thought the way things were going I was going to be waaaay behind. She had a feel around and said I could be 14, 15, 16, 17 weeks - anywhere around there lol - that helps!!
So still no official date but at least now I know for sure there's something in there!!

RosiePosie · 13/10/2005 16:59

That's great news, ZC. Hopefully now you're in the system, your maternity care in Southampton will improve!

Yuck, yuck, yuck, Frizbe! I think that would have made me vomit!

munz · 13/10/2005 18:51

it's sooo annoyin thou isn't it - down home the lady across the street (about 70 odd) walkes her pit bull terrier - about the same size of my german sheppard - but twice as stocky (which I might add she has no control over) on our side of the road to do his toileting and it really gets on my wick not only cos of thaht but also I refuse to walk mine when she's out with his as even on a lead if he pulled her she'd be off.

zeph - glad u got on well honney - good news u're further along that u thought? how long till they get u a scan?

spiker · 13/10/2005 20:40

newgirl - did removing the child from nursery work? The biting has been going on (and getting more aggressive) for about 6 months. Nursery supposedly has somebody dedicated to watching the biter all the time, but us mums of bitees are not convinced. However they have just called in an educational psychologist from HQ to advise. Difficult when the biter's so little (22 months).

frizbe - heartfelt sympathy and eeuuws a plenty on the poo-incident. The last thing you need in your life is more poo to deal with.

My scan's not til late Nov. Other than my booking appt (ages ago) I won't see a midwife/GP until I'm 25 weeks. Is that other second/third/etc timers' experience too?

romilly · 13/10/2005 21:30

friz - gross! cleaning up baby poo is bad enough, lol

sorry spiker - cant help you there, being a first timer

rosieposie - do you remember what your Hb level was when you were taking iron supps.?
