Last post from work!! Thanks Enthusia - will log on in local libray to keep updated re: arrangements. You are very good with your walking!
Sarahsausage, could download you pictures, but sure they are adorable! Lots of admiration re: knitting; very impressive! Have a nice time in Cornwall BoB; mmm ,clotted cream teas...

Diege · 04/10/2005 15:52

sorry sarah, that should read could 'not' - my outmoded work computer I think, rather than a problem at your end!

twinkle1 · 04/10/2005 16:16

enthusia (and anyone else who could make it)
mon 10th sounds good.If you are staying near man united you are close to salford quays which has the lowery outlet mall or trafford center both good places to meet and both have tram links from where you are staying. They are better for me to get too as getting into center of manchester in car is a bit of a nightmare Just let me know which.

ChaCha · 04/10/2005 18:12

SS - Had a look at the pics - what a beautiful DD you have and the cardigan is gorgeous! The pic in baby robe/towel is adorable.

Rodeo - Think it was you who mentioned the iron tablets making you sick. I feel that may be the reason that i'm throwing up so much these days. I'm taking 400mg a day as opposed to the 15mg the osteopath would describe before PG!!! Have you noticed changes in anything else? Well if I can't ask this question here don't know where else I should ask it but what about urine colour? Could the tablets cause it to be stronger and almost yellow? I'm sorry if that's too much info for anyone but it is an ante-natal thread afterall

Back to being masterchef

ChaCha · 04/10/2005 18:13

'prescribe' NOT 'describe' Duhhhh...

rodeo1 · 04/10/2005 20:35

Evening!

Chacha, the iron tablets are probably making you more sicky. If you have a talk with your doc or MW they might be able to precribe you a type more compatible with you (well that's what my MIL said when I told her about how sick they were making me!) Not sure about wee colour though, we have a blue toilet so mine always looks green!

Would love to do meet up Enthusia, Twinkle and Diege but unfortunately I'll be in hosp having my baby! Argh, getting closer!

Just waiting for 'Class of '76' to start on ITV. Did anyone else see it last night? Scared myself to death, but it was v.good!

I sorted my baby clothes out! Sent loads of old stuff to charity though - was really ruthless! But feel loads better now I've done it, was beginning to dread it!

Going to IKEA in the morning! Need to get some new bedroom curtains as I washed ours the other day and they shrank about a foot! Anyone seen any bargains there lately? Getting a haircut as well in the afternoon,

Right better get off, catch up tomorrow

6 days to go!! x x x

Enthusia · 05/10/2005 08:41

Morning all

I have a busy day Hooorrraaayyy. Am off to lunch with a friend I made at NCT and then seeing an old frind in the evening. DH is away again tonight, so another night of not sleeping well ahead of me - mind you what with the bump and toilet needs last night was pretty normal.

DH has not found out about hotels yet, he might hear today, will let you know.

Hope you are all well, not too sicky today ChaCha I hope!

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 11:26

hi all..
Enjoy your day Enthusia..sounds lovely!
We have booked a b&b in Porthcurno for this weekend, and our friends have decided to come along too which is great!
will be lovely to get away for a while...mmm..fish and chips, pasties and yes, cream teas!
We have taken a new approach to dealing with mil, last night we screened all phone calls..and after she rang five times in a row (jesus just give up if we're not answering!) just unplugged the damn thing and enjoyed a relaxing , quiet , evening.
Felt a bit mean, but ho humm...
I'm going to wash and iron all the baby clothes today..just wondering is it okay to use fairy or such, or should I get a hypoallergenic brand like Surcare?

rodeo1 · 05/10/2005 11:43

Morning!

Didn't get to go to IKEA, the blooming car wouldn't start! Cold mornings, eh? It better not play up on Monday! I've got to be on the delivery suite at 8am! Dp'd just managed to fix it but it's too late to go now, oh well!

My mum brought me a mamas & papas baby bath round that she ordered of the internet but it's too big for the bath! Oh what to do? Shall I keep it to use on the bathroom floor? That sounds like a pain in the bum! Oh but it's got little bath feet, it's really cute!

Bob have a lovely weekend! I'm v ! Maybe you can move down there without telling the MIL!! Fairy will be fine, I washed mine yesterday in Asda Non Bio, used a bit of softener too (maybe shouldn't have done that)

Enjoy your day Enthusia!! Sounds like you're loving your mat leave! Good for you!

Haven't heard from BEKS or Nova for a while. Wonder if Beks may have beaten me to 'first baby' title?! Hope you are both fine and well ladies

5 days to go x x x

Ooh..rodeo.forgot to say..gasp! at how soon you will have the baby...eek, how exciting!
I admire you for attempting an ikea trip..I'm not sure my hormones could handle it at the moment..hehe

rodeo1 · 05/10/2005 11:55

Beks hasn't posted since Sunday, hope she is ok, she did mention in her last post that she thought baby might be early...hmmm?

novadandypowder · 05/10/2005 12:01

hello ladies

I've been feeling a bit blue (in a sad sense not a rude one!!) so i've been staying away for a bit. It may sound strange but I'm feeling a bit weird about having a baby. I get hit by large waves of hormones/emotions sometimes that make me want to curl up in a ball, cry and be sick. It freaks me out that there's a little human being inside me, and find the extreme body change difficult sometimes. I'm trying my best to ignore it at the moment and am trying to keep myself busy so I don't dwell on it. The feelings pass quite quickly, but I find it hard to try and explain them to DH. He doesn't really understand what I'm feeling (of course!) and I can't find the right words to help him.

Just writing this is making me cry, but I probably need it to let it all out. No-one else I can really talk to about it all.

rodeo1 · 05/10/2005 12:04

Re Beks, I bet she is in hospital, copied this from her last post on Sat night (not Sunday) -

'I think I'm likely to go early with this one as all the same signs are appearing just a bit earlier this time, & they are a bit more obvious even I'm a bit concerned this time.'

Hope everything is well, how many weeks is she? About 34? Sending her love and best wishes

She may just be away, I suppose, or can't be bothered to log on but she usually posts daily. Hopefully just a false alarm.

Oh Nova, Lovely to have you back, sorry you're feeling down, you do look beautiful in your piccies, maybe that is why dh can't understand. It is very overwhelming in these last stages (think I may have bawled every day for the last 2 weeks) as the enormity of it all seems to gulp you up.

It is an all consuming job in those first few weeks and you do at times want to chuck it all in and leg it, but you'll be surprised at how quickly those first weeks pass (and also how well you'll do). And you will get back to being yourself again sooner than you'd imagine. And looking lovely for it too

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 12:16

hi nova..glad to see you are okay (well..ish)..sending you hugs!.
i think this is totally normal..it is an enormous life change, and a huge responsibility, and as d-day approaches you are bound to be upset and anxious. Hope you can see the positives and this is just a temporary thing.

rodeo1 · 05/10/2005 12:21

Twinkle, I'll be 36+6 on Monday! It was going to be done on Tues at 37 but there where no free slots available.

My friend works on the post-natal suite, and there's only 4 babies in there at the mo! But it was completely jammed the week before! I'm praying for it to be quiet

And I'm not calm - I'm quite frantic, with regular bouts of tears! I'm terrified more than excited at the mo TBH!

OP posts:
twinkle1 · 05/10/2005 12:31

i have prob forgot but why are you having your section rodeo???

novadandypowder · 05/10/2005 12:34

I think it's just got me thinking about the idea of 'family'. Mine is very screwed up and I crave a normal family. It's almost reassuring to read that quite a few others on here have issues with their parents (not that I would wish that on anyone). The sad thing about my situation is that it won't resolve itself without a huge upset, but I'd rather have the upset at times then carry on with how things are going. However, the problem isn't mine to solve, I try to stay away from it all so I can try and get on with some form of normal life in London.

I'm actually looking forward to the baby arriving, it's pregnancy I'm finding difficult at times.

Went for growth scan yesterday, we couldn't really see much as it's too big to fit on the screen, but we saw baby putting its hands in it's mouth and suffering a case of hiccups. They reckon it's about 5 1/2 lbs at the mo which would give it an estimated delivery weight of 7 1/2 lbs. Apparently the head is below average circumference - hurrah. Had final bloods done and got screened for group B strep, then met the consultants who are covering november who seem really nice.

Have put in complaint about the classes and they're taking it very seriously.

Thank you for being there everyone xx

ChaCha · 05/10/2005 12:45

Morning,

Hope everyone is well. Rodeo, I'm very excited for you, I can't believe that you are going to have a baby in a matter of days! Can't wait to hear the news.

Nova - It's nice to see you post again. I'm sorry that you've been feeling a bit blue and if it's any consolation I think it's just normal! I mean, this whole PG thing is life changing. Sending you a smiley face {{{}}}

BoB - Have a lovely weekend away and is probably a good idea to keep your phones on divert! Enjoy and relax. Would love to go away too but feel like a fat duck at the moment. You can't imagine what I looked like TRYING to get out of the car yesterday - I just want the baby here now. I've seen a gorgeous 'long sleep set' on Isabella Oliver that I really want to treat myself to but just can't justify the 95quid. It is really lovely though...hmmm! Anyway..

Enthusia - Have a lovely day!

Well we have 16 people over for dinner so I best go and finish off downstairs. I am sooooo tired today, am still being sick and sleep can be such a joke. When i eventually get comfortable and fall asleep DH's alarm goes off constantly (thanks to wonderful snooze function) and then i'm up!! Karma/Twinkle - why are some women like myself this sick at this stage until now?

Time to waddle my fat backside off downstairs!

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 12:48

nova - i can sympathise..as you know my DP has a messed up relationship with his family too, and i think he is going through the same feelings. his concern is that our baby doesn't end up in a similar situation.
fortunately my family are wonderful , so that gives us some support..how is your relationship with dp's family?
good news for you on baby too..especially head circumfrence! hehe
are growth scans given as standard? it's just that I haven't heard mention of one..or is it just beacuse you are private?

twinkle1 · 05/10/2005 12:52

chacha,
If its any consolation i have started to spew up like a fountain again
at this stage its often a lack of room for stomach and intestines to hold food, plus baby pushing feet into stomach just after dinner does nothing for the digestion Also hormones are at very high levelsnow so could be a combination of all of these

SharonTW · 05/10/2005 12:58

Hi everyone, just got up ! didn't sleep again last night getting really fed up with it now.
Nova bless you - hope you're feeling better soon sure you will, I keep getting panics and DH just says it's normal women have done it for centuries calm down - big help huh ?
Everything will be ok though , we'll all be here after the babies come too, bet there'll be some night posts then !! x
take care
going for a nice bath now - will never get the ironing done like this.
