Try doing it to him Leroy and see if he feels in the mood after you've pointed out every minor flaw on his body. Even if you did have lumpy bits and spots, which I bet you don't, you're flipping pregnant, what's HIS excuse??

I just cried at a picture of a baby in my pregnancy book Hmm

NurseSnowflake · 11/12/2010 12:14

Anyway, I am the spottiest around here for sure. I am like a gigantic spot with a girl attached. I am gross.

bananarama05 · 11/12/2010 13:00

nurse I would put money on being spottier than you, I'm spotty at the best of times, now I'm the same as you all spot, not so much me :(

Leroy my maternity jeans shopping trip was a failure this morning...I found 5 long sleeve dresses instead (off to london tonight and am convinced I will freeze) but was good and just bought 1....and some tights....and some jewellery Grin

DP hasn't attempted to come near me recently (thinking about it in about 10 weeks since holiday...), not sure if its becuase I'm fat, spotty and miserable or because of his shift work he spends 95% of his time at home sleeping, is beginning to knock my confidence a little bit though!

mummyno2 I'm clumsy at the best of times but I have lost any co-ordination I had since pg. Have come to the conclusion the fact my boobs are so bloody ridiculously huge these days means I've lost my centre of balance, thats my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it!

bananarama05 · 11/12/2010 13:21

aaaaaaaaaand speaking of clumsy have just dropped pan of broad beans (and boiling water) all over the kitchen floor... god job I cleaned the floor this morning!

Turns out the dogs a big fan of beans Grin

milliemuffin · 11/12/2010 15:29

Hi ladies, reassurance needed please. I noticed I felt wet when I was out earlier and when I popped to the loo there was quite alot of discharge with a definite pink tinge to it. I'm hopefully 11+2. Last time I had this I miscarried at 8 weeks. Thursday can't come soon enough. Struggling to be hopeful :(

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/12/2010 15:57

Millie - it is probably nothing but for your peace of mind can you speak to your EPU?

Barbie - fingers crossed you did well on your exam - how nice of the farmer and the examiner to help you Smile

Nurse, I'm seem to be getting spots along my jw line and my forehead!

I still look fat rather than pregnant....

TabithaTwitchet · 11/12/2010 15:58

Ohh, Milliemuffin, how scary for you, hope you are OK. Lots of people have bleeding, discharge, all sorts of things and it all turns out fine.
Put your feet up if you can and try hard not to worry too much. Maybe phone your midwife for some advice and reassurance too.

Mummynumber2 · 11/12/2010 17:43

Millie I'm thinking of you I know it's a very scary experience. Are you able to beg a scan before Thursday? I'm sure all will be well but it's good to put your mind at rest asap. In the mean time I think you should really try to get some rest, preferably spend some time in bed and make sure you really keep your fluids up. I'm always told to avoid sex and baths too. Let us know how you're doing.

I'm still feeling pretty crappy but have managed to get and keep my temperature below 38 (it was only slightly over this morning). Managing to get myself out of bed for the x factor final though! Grin.

Mummynumber2 · 11/12/2010 18:05

Leroy how horrible of your dp to be saying you're fat etc. Does he know it's upsetting you? I'm really Angry about the way some of your dp/h/ex's are treating you. Don't they understand how vulnerable we all feel at the moment?! It makes me feel very lucky I have my dp.

expectingbabyno2 · 11/12/2010 19:48

NoMoreSnowPlease you actually made me lol! Just the pick me up I needed.. I have spent half the afternoon in the out of hours doctor surgery at my local hospital. I had a urinary infection which they discovered when they took my urine at my booking appt and then had a course of antibiotics to clear it. They didn't do very much and I have been having pains around my kidneys and last night it got so bad. Called the midwife and she is a star, called me back first thing this morning and sent me there. Can't help but think that this doctor didn't know what he was talking about but hey, here goes another load of antibiotics.. x3 a day! I have been googling this evening and have scared myself senseless! Why do I do it??

milliemuffin My thoughts are with you but could be a urinary infection? Discharge was a symptom I eventually got and apparently there was blood in my urine. Try not to worry too much xx

expectingbabyno2 · 11/12/2010 19:50

Oh and because of our trip to the hospital, my ds missed a friends birthday party so I am feeling like a bad mummy.. boo hoo to me!

Mummynumber2 · 11/12/2010 20:37

Can anyone explain to me the difference between stretching pains and contraction type pains? I've had a few stomach pains today and I'm a bit worried especially after the fall yesterday and temperature today. I've read a few things on line saying stretching pains are fine but contraction pains bad but I don't know which one I have! It's very low down, kind of like period pain and comes and goes a bit. I've had it before but it seems worse today.

Expecting poor you. Please don't worry about taking the antibiotics I'm sure they wouldn't prescribe them in pregnancy if there was any chance at all they could harm your baby (if only because the nhs doesn't want to get sued). And you're by no means a bad mummy for missing the party.

BarbieLovesKen · 11/12/2010 21:12

Just flying in as dont want you to worry MN2 - that sounds exactly like the stretching pains I have experienced on all 3 of my pregnancies (and strangely enough, not at all on the pregnancy I miscarried with). Sounds very very normal to me, that said, if you feel at all that things arent quite right or would prefer some reassurance it would be no harm taking a trip to GP.

namechangedfor3months · 11/12/2010 21:43

milliemuffin hope everything's OK..

Mummynumber2 I'm getting some crampy-stretchy type pains this weekend. Hope you're OK.

Anyone see seX-factor tonight. Boy I feel grose at the moment and all the ladees their undies made me feel even more frumpy!!! :(

Put up and decorated a real tree today. Scan on Monday afternoon - will be 13+6. Very nervous - but DP and DS are coming with me so that will help Hmm.

Baublepink · 11/12/2010 21:44

Thanks moomin for the nuchal information, that has filled all the gaps for me! My scan is next Thursday neenewps. I think it'll only all seem real when I see the baby on the scan... 12+1 today although I think the scan will shift the dates around by a few days. DD's shifted twice - an early scan put the due date back 3 days, and the 12 week scan put it back another 4 days on top of that!

Urrgh barbie what a horrible morning you had getting to that exam, I bet you've still done really well Smile Good luck.

NurseSnowflake · 11/12/2010 21:45

Hey MN2, I'm sure Barbie is right, I hope so at least as I've had some pains in the same sort of place. I think you would know if it was contraction pain.
The fall won't have done anything. You'd only be at risk of harming the baby if you had a big bump and fell forward straight onto it, I think you said you knocked your back and legs? And anyway, baby is still pretty low down in your pelvis so protected by your bones. How's your temp now? Please don't hesitate to take paracetamol if it creeps up, it's totally safe for pg and better to take a couple than have a high temp which isn't great for you or the baby.

Thinking of you Milliemuffin xxx

Mummynumber2 · 11/12/2010 21:46

Thanks for the reassurance barbie. I think i just need to chill out a bit and maybe get a doppler to stop me worrying all the time!

Mummynumber2 · 11/12/2010 21:52

X posts with a few people. Thanks nurse my temp's 37.1 now so all good. I've been taking paracetamol today, didn't want to take any drugs but better than having a temperature. And no, I didn't hit anywhere near my stomach, as I've been telling myself all day! I've become a real worrier over the last couple of months.

nicki1978 · 12/12/2010 09:34

Hi All,

Thought I'd drop in and say hi, I am also due in June, yeah with my first child, had our first scan on 3rd Dec and all is well baby was doing the caterpillar dance and refused to lay still for a photo, hehe Xmas Grin

We are soooooo excited about it and am counting down the weeks to our 20 week scan to find sex of our baby.

I'm secretly hoping for a girl as we just can't agree on a first name for a boy at all, lol.

Nic xx

jasmine51 · 12/12/2010 09:54

Hello all
I'm going to be a girly swot again...there is alot of talk about needing to pee more. Well, when the lovely consultant at the rmc clinic drew up a timeline of key stages of pg for me - there was an important one around 10/12 weeks when the placenta takes over the production of the key hormones from the corpus luteum - in particular producing the progesterone. He told me that good signs of healthy progesterone production would be needing to pee more, possibly headaches, even bigger boobs and hopefully a lessening of nausea, maybe spots. Later on, the need to pee more might be pressure on the bladder, but at this stage it should be the progesterone.

MN2 I have had scary cramps for the past couple of mornings - really alarmingly strong period type pains. I really dont feel they are the same as general stretching ones and will be asking about them tomorrow as I am having (yet another) scan - this time a cervical one to assess cervix function after previous colposcopy. I'll let you know what they say

Lastly - does anyone else have an old scar on their tummy - from apendix or previous cs...and is it itching? I had my appendix out when I was 12 but the scar has just started driving me mad with itching - is this just stretching?

Clarkiee · 12/12/2010 10:02

Hi nicki welcome to the forum (a good place to have a moan, share good stories and get reassurance). We are the same can think of loads of girls names but stuck with boys names.

Leeroy my DH has also made a few teasing jokes about being fat, I believe that he was joking around but I told him straight that its NOT actually funny (and it never will be) and hes now stopped. Have a serious word with your DP or if all else fails, like someone suggested, have a few 'jokes' about his body see how he likes it!

Just watched 'How to look good naked' it was a mum who hated her post baby body, made me cry. It had a happy ending though.

nicki1978 · 12/12/2010 10:20

Am having a very weepy day today, started last week when someone "bumped" into the back of my car and thought it was just chipped paint on bumper (bumper is plastic), so we all went on our merry way until I tried to use my boot and found the boot lid is misaligned, been to garage and the boot base has been damaged.

Then yesterday two blooming male drivers (one in a massive 4 x 4 the other in a tiny sports car) decided to nearly run me off the road. The guy in the 4 x 4 was blatently in the wrong lane at the roundabout and just cut me up (nearly taking my wing with him) to get onto the right road. The guy with the tiny sports car undertook me on a roundabout (in the wrong lane, again) in my blind spot then had gall to shout at me for not seeing him, moron!!! grrrrr!!!!

Its fair to say I came out with more expletives that I could dare to mention and then have been in floods of tears since.

See am even crying now just writing this, hehe.

Hope it doesn't last too long otherwise I could probably bath in my own tears, omg. Xmas Smile

jasmine51 · 12/12/2010 10:38

Ah nicki, sounds like you have had a rubbish time. Blub all you want, get it out...for tomorrow if the pg hormones are like mine, you'll be laughing your a**e off at something inconsequential.
xx

bananarama05 · 12/12/2010 10:49
