Oh Barbie that sounds HORRIBLE. I bet you did much better than you think in the exam though, even with the stress. Hope you can have a really relaxed evening to get over it. Hugs xx

BreastMilkmakesagreatlatte thank you for having the best username I've ever seen Xmas Grin And congratulations on baby.

Welcome to everyone who's just appeared.

Moog Congrats on your scan. High fibre stuff includes whole grain cereal (weetabix has nearly as much fibre as All Bran and most people prefer it, Fruit and Fibre is OK but is high in sugar), wholegrain bread, porridge, fruit juice, esp fresh. Adding bran (can get from health food shops) to yoghurt is a good way to up your intake. Apparently we should be eating 18g per day, but most people don't get that.

8rubberduckies yeah that's what I thought as well, loads of extra blood! Will I have bleeding gums to look forward to as well? :(

Congrats Featherblue Xmas Smile

NurseSnowflake · 10/12/2010 20:33

Oh Moog I forgot to add, raisins, prunes, dried apricots etc are good for the old bowels.

bananarama05 · 10/12/2010 20:33

Hello new people, ooh expecting I'm another 4th June dd too! I've only started venturing to the supermarket again in the last week or so as I was sick of having nothing to eat as DP was just going without (meaning nothing for me either) if I didn't plan, buy and cook some sort of meal each, grr! Luckily I've calmed down on the random retching and gagging this week!

DP's sister also asked if pg was planned, his mum then proceeded to tell her not to be so bloody rude!

Barbie sorry for your horrible horrible day. I hope DH is looking after you this evening? Would you be able to re-sit if needs be? (Although I have no doubt you will have done fanastically and will suprise yourself :) ) And don't apologise for long ranty posts, I am the QUEEN of long ranty me me me posts!

Moog I also can't stop weeing recently, didn't have any problems in the 1st trimester either.

Moomin I'm off out in London tomorrow night and am contemplating a trip to find myself some maternity jeans tomorrow as think everything else will be WAAAAY too cold, I'm quite excited, not so much at the prospect of 100's of mental christmas shoppers everywhere though!

TTL I cracked and told my boss at about 8 weeks as felt so bad having so much time off for "doctors appointments" when I've probably only had 1 doctors appointment the whole 2 years I've worked there pre pg. He was more than happy to keep it quiet until I wanted to tell HR this week and it made it much easier that he understood why I kept disappearing looking a bit green every hour or so!

Bauble my nuchal was combined scan and bloods, with results a few days later, is pretty standard in these parts I think.

Nurse hope the house hunting went well!

Well thats the last time I bugger off for 2 days and don't post, I shall apologise for the length of this before I even post it and see how big it is!!!

NurseSnowflake · 10/12/2010 20:35

Thanks banana, am trying to talk them down on rent for one of the places so am waiting to hear back.

Keeping up with this thread is like a fulltime job!

bananarama05 · 10/12/2010 20:36

nurse my bleeding gums started about a week ago :( makes teeth cleaning rather fun. Probably not as much fun as the lucky people who get teeth cleaning induced gagging though!

NurseSnowflake · 10/12/2010 20:40

Oh no. Looks like we're all well and truly into pregnancy related horror side effects by now doesn't it. There is no hope for us now, we are doooooomed Xmas Grin

bananarama05 · 10/12/2010 20:48

I still miss my MS a little bit though does that make me wierd?? Grin

Was the only thing making me feel pg. Wish my bump would hurry up, I had a right strop before I got in the bath the other night thinking I looked like a giant marshmallow and remembering a time i used to have a waist. So glad I don't have any scales at home (says the girl who's just eaten chippie chips and fishcke for dinner!!)

Clarkiee · 10/12/2010 21:04

Hello everyone. I recognise a few names popping back which is lovely. Welcome new people too.

I just cried at Corrie it was sooooo sad Sad

Sounds like you've had a horrendous time today Barbie And I cant believe that your dc has been off for two whole weeks Shock

moomin I bought some lovely maternity jeans from next today. I was down to my last two pairs that only fit me because they were so low cut. Dorothy Perkins keeps having 30% of deals on line. Quite a lot of good maternity stuff on there- espcially evryday wear and work stuff. I have stuck a load of regular clothes in the loft, no point them cluttering up my wardrobe.

Still attempting to hide my bump from parents (I'm a primary school teacher) when its home time I stick on my big coat or my poncho thin its doing the trick.

bananarama its Friday chippie is allowed (we had dominos pizza)

Mummynumber2 · 10/12/2010 21:14

Barbie sounds like you had a terrible day. Hope you've managed to relax this evening.

I've not had the best day myself. My ms has come back, I've got a terrible headache, sore throat and slight temperature. And I fell down the stairs today. I'm in bed now, where it's safe!

NurseSnowflake · 10/12/2010 21:22

Oh no Shock hope you're OK MN2. Did you hurt yourself falling down the stairs? Hope you feel better soon x

expectingbabyno2 · 10/12/2010 21:28

Oh Barbie so sorry to hear that. If you feel that you haven't done as well as you were expecting, do push it so the exam board can take the vile weather conditions into account. They will be able to see from other examinations how you normally perform. I finished uni in May (thank god) and was late into one exam as DS decided to sick up on me just as I handed him over to the ladies at nursery (!!!!!) and it took me a good 20 mins to calm down.. I couldn't even hold my pen and was a jittering mess! Luckily I did ok, I bet you will too.
Bananarama 05 I've given up on supermarkets and now get the food shop delivered. Hopefully it won't be too long as the £6 delivery charge was a bit steep!! And yes.. I wish my bump would show Sad I had a friend who came over this afternoon and as she walzted in, declared that I didn't look pregnant, c'mon bump!!

santamaxx · 10/12/2010 21:38

OMG I just cannot keep up Shock
What a terrible day Barbie. WRT the skin tags - one of my friends developed loads of them on her chest but I think they just froze them all off after the birth. Think it barely hurt as well.

I am so shattered - but so glad it's the weekend. Smile

BarbieLovesKen · 10/12/2010 21:56

MN2 are you ok? are you hurt?

Oh you all are gorgeous!! I felt like bursting into tears when reading your supportive and sympathetic posts. Thank you all so so much xxx.

Am feeling so much better, am lounging on couch in pyjamas, big fire on, DH went out and bought gorgeous italian takeaway and lots of chocolate. SIL is bringing dd away for fun filled weekend to her house tomorrow and a sleepover so we're going to do the toy shop for Christmas and Im really looking forward to it, will have to bring ds but dont think he'll notice, being 10 months Grin.

santamaxx thank you so much for advice on skin tags, feel a little better. Oh the joys!! they are really annoying.

BarbieLovesKen · 10/12/2010 22:02

Oh and also meant to say at least today's events would really restore your faith in people i.e. helpful neighbour man and his brother (who both when eyeing my bum insisted on holding my hand and helping into jeep and out of jeep)and lovely woman who brought me tea...

BarbieLovesKen · 10/12/2010 22:02

Oh my God!!! BUMP!!! eyeing my bump!!! absolutely peeing myself laughing...

takethatlady · 10/12/2010 22:15

Grin barbie - I really couldn't work out whether that was meant to be sarcastic or not. I was thinking 'but they DID help' and then 'maybe they only did it because of barbie's ass' and then 'maybe barbie was pleased they were looking at her bum' Grin

Bums and bumps are definitely not to be mixed up, I think!

Been out for drinks with uni friends who might be moving to these parts (one had a job interview today at Addenbrookes, where I'll be giving birth Grin). But we'll be moving away as they get here Sad. Still, it was nice to see them. DH got drunk on three pints, ate a steak, which would usually be enough for him since he never has an appetite, and then demanded McDonald's on the way home Grin. He's lying on the couch now, snoring his head off ...

Sorry about your exam barbie but I bet you did great anyway.

Thanks bananarama, and keep safe mn2!

motherofsnortpigs · 10/12/2010 22:45

O barbie you've made me laugh and cry in the space of a few minutes! I don't have a bump - I just have a bum. I tried on a dress to go out in last night and I looked fat, it was scary and horrid.......

clarkiee any hints from the inspectors as to how the ofsted went? (Not that you should care - just grow babies)

I bought DH an online supermarket shop for his birthday (too cheeky) because he used to spend an entire Saturday evening once a month in Sainsburys. If you spend enough money in one go the delivery is free!! I kind of miss his outings though because I used to have a bet with a friend on exactly how long he'd be, how many clarifying texts/phone calls I'd get and how much he'd spend - well, I guess there are more exciting things to do on a Saturday... He is now positively evangelical about supermarket shopping online, mainly because he is such a stickler for the budget. banana he also doesn't bother to eat if I don't put a meal in front of him. So lazy - marmite on toast is NOT dinner.

I am now fairly convinced this baby is a girl as I am still feeling queasy and I'm 14+3. I stopped feeling sicky much earlier with DS and with the DDs was sick well into week 17.

Worst symptom this week is headaches - I am SO BORED of them. Bleeding gums is yuk too, but the worst thing you can do is stop brushing. FIL is a retired dentist so DH is hot on oral hygiene. His outburst about the state of the children's toothbrushes had be hiding in the loo laughing.

DH out tonight at his work Christmas do. I have watched too much iplayer and not capitalised on the early night. Needed to recover from tea time. My dramatic DD2 (who is 3) often changes for dinner (o yes) and the quotation of the evening has to be 'I can't eat my tea, I'm in the middle of my wedding'. She is very hard to get cross with. Well, I obviously have no one in RL to talk to so you are getting all my random musings. Will find those stats now and add myself.

NurseSnowflake · 10/12/2010 22:45

LOL TTL the exact asme thoughts went through my mind!
Glad you're having a lovely evening Barbie and have a fun weekend to look forward to. Nyaaaw I can't wait to be buying christmas presents for my ickle babeh :)

Clarkiee · 11/12/2010 08:03

Morning (unable to lie in again- been up since 6.30am and I don't even have any toddlers waking me up).

Thanks for asking about Ofsted motherofsnortpigs. We were in NTI (notice to improve) category (one above special measures) and the past 15 months have been the most stressful of my whole teaching career. Now we are Satisfactory- woo hoo! Crap word but much better than the only other way it could have gone (Special measures). They will return in 12- 24 months. Fingers crossed its 12 months Grin.

So you think girl cause of ms? Well I think boys- no ms and I have a bit of a hairy tummy- yuk!!!

Mummynumber2 · 11/12/2010 08:27

Morning clarkie, I've also been awake for hours for no reason. I've also got a hairy tummy Blush I was going to ask if anyone else had it too! I've also had bad ms....

Lol Barbie at you neighbour and his brother eyeing your bum!

Thanks for your well wishes, I didn't really hurt myself when I fell down the stairs. I have a carpet burn on my elbow and a bruise on my bottom and leg. Am I the only one who's become this clumsy?! I haven't done anything like that for years. It did shake me up a bit because I think I may have hit my lower back although def not my stomach. So stupid Sad

I'm also a bit worried about having a temperature as I know that can be dangerous for baby too.

Sorry for all the moaning!

Clarkiee · 11/12/2010 09:04

I think doing something like falling down the stairs really shakes you up, which is often worse than the injuries you occur mummy2 Take it easy. And this the best place to moan especially when its pregnancy realted Grin

In most lights you can't really see the hairy tum but my DH noticed it last night Blush rank!

My joints have been clicking lots too Confused if I wiggle my ankle it cracks about 4 times- yuk.

I seem to have a reverse bump! My stomach is getting smaller and smaller. Really wish I could say the same about my bum! Grin
