Very jealous of all your weight gain ladies. I have put on 2/3 lbs at the very most & I'm 19 weeks with only a small bump.
Am normally a size 8/10 at the bottom & 12/14 on top due to massive norks (32/34 FF). I can't get into any of my trousers but I still fit into some skirts & all of my work dresses.
I mentioned it to the midwife just before Xmas & she wasn't bothered. I must admit to only just having got my appetite back over the last couple of weeks & I never suffered major sickness. I can still only eat small amounts. & don't 'fancy' much food but it's definitely better than it was. I have gone off all sweet things so haven't had chocolate or similar for months.

Excellent news TTL-glad all is well. I bled from 4 to 14 weeks this time & had a little brown blood last week but the midwife listened with the doppler & all is fine.
Not had any definite movement yet so feeling anxious but anomaly scan on 12 jan so hopefully it will be down to having an anterior placenta.

We had already decided on a boys name but now we know it's a girl it's sods law we can't agree on anything.

Btw-happy new year everyone.
May the next few months be uneventful for us all.

X

Just a quick pop in before I do a proper catch up and reply later!

TTL So pleased it's all okay for you :). I had some pinkish discharge the other day and I was in a stinking mood for the whole day because of it. It went away after a day so wasn't too concerned but it is a bit of a shock to have it when you've stopped the knicker checking!

Hope all who were ill are feeling better :)

OompaLumpa · 03/01/2011 17:21

TTL just wanted to say that I'm really glad all went ok at A and E. X

takethatlady · 03/01/2011 17:32

Thanks ladies. Still spotting, and annoyed with my mum because I let her know I'd been to the hospital (she gets really put out if I don't tell her stuff like that) but that all was fine, nothing to worry about. She then rang at 8am this morning (let the phone ring about 50 times, too, just in case it took me an hour to get there in our 2-up 2-down), rang my mobile twice, left a message, rang my DH's mobile, texted us both, then when I called her back set about telling me information I'd already told her in the most patronising of manners, and has since rung twice more with more 'advice'. I've affected total calm about the whole thing and told her I'm 100% reassured by the hospital, but she's gone nuts about it. Argh!

Jealous of all you ladies with the weight gain. I weighed myself at my dad's at Christmas (I don't have scales) and I had put on a grand total of 0 lbs since the doctor measured me. 0lbs! I've eaten my bodyweight in chocolate and cheese over Christmas too ... reckon it's the conspicuous lack of wine consumption ...

jinglebellssantasmells · 03/01/2011 18:08

oh my god 0lb now i am feeling like a big fat whale lol

bananarama05 · 03/01/2011 19:07

jingle, nurse and santa I'm with you on the humungous weight gain.

I'm 5ft 4 and show weight gain quite quickly, I've no idea on actual pounds gained as I don't have scales at home and tend to go by "feel" and clothes fitting, in which case I've piled it on!

I lost 2 1/2 stone doing weightwatchers pre-pg and was was down to a small size 12 from a 14 (probably really 16 in denial!) but tried a size 14 top on yesterday and have some definite arm flab going on.

I'm not to fussed in all honesty. I strangely enjoyed doing WW, liked the meal planning and organisation of it all and have every intention to get back on the case once LO is here but not beat myself up about it. I'm clinging onto the hope breastfeeding will work some magic!

TTL so glad thinks are looking good for you and you were looked after. No advice on the mum front I'm afraid but I hope she's calmed down a bit now!

takethatlady · 03/01/2011 19:08

I feel like a big bloated person who feels and looks fatter but is actually, inexplicably, the same weight as when I wasn't big, bloated or fat ... not sure there's a word for that, but I want the poundage to go with the flabbage!

takethatlady · 03/01/2011 19:09

Whoops - cross-post banana. I'm sure all you ladies look gorgeous and pregnant, and not just wobbly like me!

NurseSnowflake · 03/01/2011 19:43

I'm 5"4 as well banana, I feel like I've been pumped up with a bicycle pump! My boobs look massive (they already were so bigger is NOT better!) and my face looks fatter. I think my tummy looks pregnant not just eaten too much but I can't be sure. Bring on the massive bump!

Got my 16 week app with the mw tomorrow, need to ask about ante natal classes. Has anyone else sorted theirs out yet? Not really sure how to go about it! Am so clueless Confused

Tried going into mothercare today to buy a breastpump and brain went into some sort of spasm and I ended up just wandering around with a terrified expression on my face and then left without buying anything. Consoled myself with the thought that I'll wait till 20 week scan when I know everything is definately OK then I can buy more stuff. It all seems like too much!

bananarama05 · 03/01/2011 19:47

TTL despite saying the actual numbers don't bother me much I do feel a lot like a big bloated munchkin what with being a shortarse as well I have to admit :)

What are those toys that bounce straight back up when you push them over? Weebles or something? Thats how I feel most of the time at the moment Grin Ah well "it'll be worth it in the end" (repeats over and over and over...)

jinglebellssantasmells · 03/01/2011 19:51

banana- lol my dad used to say i looked like a weeble when i was pg with DD i put on over 3.5 stone :(

i am also clinging onto the hope that breastfeeding will whip me back to shape lol, i didnt breastfeed with DD i was to ill afta birth and decided bottle feeding wud be best but think im going to give it a whirl this time and c how it goes :)

bananarama05 · 03/01/2011 19:54

nurse Me and DP ventured into mothercare last week and have seen a really good deal on a Silver Cross travel system and car seat for £300 which I'm desperate to get before the end of the sales but it seems too early. The first time I went in I did the same as you, walked in, snuck about in case anyone saw me (we'd hardly told anyone at this point) and practically ran out!

I've booked NCT classes but now you mention it I've not been given any info on the NHS classes locally. I must remember to ask but haven't got my next mw appt til 23 weeks so would be interested to know what everyone elses involve too.

GoodVibrations · 03/01/2011 20:29

TTL Great news on the scan, what a relief, hurray!

Nurse I did the exact same thing during my last pg. Wrote a list of what I needed, walked into mothercare, felt too overwhelmed so just walked straight back out again! If it's any help, a cheap manual breast pump (avent one) worked best for me. I tried lots of different pumps as DD was in special care so I had to express for a while, then was a milk donor so carried on expressing!. I used a double electric pump in the hospital and I really did feel like a cow being milked!!!

I have my 20 week scan in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! V excited but a little nervous. Baby has def moved. Had horrible churning feeling yesterday and now need to pee every hour. Kicks are much lower down, but reassuring all the same. HALFWAY AT LAST GrinGrin

GoodVibrations · 03/01/2011 20:38

jingle if you want to breastfeed then I can highly recommend a breastfeeding counsellor (they are supposed to have one at every hospital, we have a team of 3). I really struggled and she was amazing support, she even came out to my house a few times to help me, I wouldn't have managed it otherwise. But hopefully things will be easier for us both this time!! Oh and it def helped me lose weight!! (burns 500 calories a day apparently!!)

Hello everyone! Having said hello once I'm afraid i've missed much of the thread but I'm back and glad to feel solidarity with others feeling larger and bloated as I couldn't remember when this would happen!
I had my 3 month scan on Dec 23 and they think we're having a boy! I don't know what that will be like so very excited. We were going to be over the moon whatever and have dd who is nearly 4.

Supersunnyday i'm so sorry about your dh's redundancy and well done for seeming to take it so calmly- what a thoughtless time to let him know!! And do hope all will work out for the best. My dh was made redundant a few years ago and it lead to a move too and was all a happy adventure in the end so I hope same for you

sasamaxx · 03/01/2011 23:15

Well, I can be sure that I'm getting suitably fat since a friend showed DD (2) a drawing of Macca Pacca and said 'who's that?' and she said 'mummy!' :O

Glad things are all fine TTL - what a relief!!!

bananarama05 · 04/01/2011 00:18

Well there I was saying I was going to have an early night ready for going back to work tomorrow and a 12 hour day at that...

Instead I've just spent about 2 hours creating the mother of all Excel sheets with various tabs of "stuff we might need to buy" + quantities including a lengthy hospital bag section. Control freak, much, me? Grin

Right now I really need to stop thinking and start trying to get some sleep!

cameli · 04/01/2011 00:40

I've just had to get up & have 4 Weetabix-what's that all about?! Maybe now I will start gaining some weight....

Merlion · 04/01/2011 02:32

At 16 weeks I was -2.5kg but think I may have made up for it over Christmas Grin. TTL I'm with you in thinking lack of wine consumption may have something alot to do with it!

Goodvibrations good luck for your scan

Banana I think you may have inadvertently nominated yourself for the position of thread statistician Grin. We had a lady on my previous ante natal thread who was fantastic with keeping us up to date on EDDs boy/girl tally etc and is a spreadsheet fanatic. She has even been able to confirm to a couple of us (me included Blush) when our periods were overdue and we should maybe be POAS!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 04/01/2011 07:57

Supersunnyday - oh no about your DH's job, what shit news on top of everything else :(

GoodVirbations - good luck with the scan

Nurse - nice to see you again.

18 weeks today!

jinglebellssantasmells · 04/01/2011 08:31

goodvibrations- goodluck with your scan today hope all goes well :)

jasmine51 · 04/01/2011 08:41

banana oooo, gis a copy of your spreadsheet! I was thinking of doing the same thing.

Not talking to DH at the moment. Hes got a new contract and is currently away. Hes back in Feb then away again til May when hes home again for 3 weeks...err DS is due mid June and he 'thinks' he can adjust his leave to get 3 weeks off in June instead. Unless this little one arrives early or bang on time hes not going to be around for either birth or the first couple of weeks. I'm furious. I'm so sad about being on my own through all this anyway but to even contemplate being away for the birth of your first son is beyond my brain. I cant face talking to him til I've calmed down so I've switched my skype off.
Why do some men think 'earning the money' is the most important thing in supporting their families?

Rant over

Hope those going back to work today have a good day. Those that arent...enjoy watching ebay for those baby bargains

xx

knackered76 · 04/01/2011 08:53

Honestly I will catch up with everyone Blush am just sooooo tired again in the evenings and desperately trying to get my studying in before the next course starts in a couple of weeks.

goodvibrations good luck with the scan today :) Just under 2 weeks until mine and i can't wait, just to put my mind at ease really as it's been racing again recently!

Supersunnyday rubbish news about dh. I'm glad you're taking it calmly. My dh was made redundant last year and things have all worked out so fingers crossed it's the same for you :)

Misshoohaa congrats on the wedding Grin How's married life treating you so far?!

Hooray for all those having boys. Having got one myself they are most lovely, as are girls :) To be honest we are all in a win win Grin

Right, more catching up later as my 'lovely' ds is about to kill my dd . . . . . occasionally the grumpalump raises it's evil head :) Oh well, back to school tomorrow!

knackered76 · 04/01/2011 08:57

x post Jasmine :( I know a few men who have a slightly strange view of what family life entails. I hope it all works out for you and for back up try and get a good support network around you. I have a wonderful friend here who is my back up birth partner but I totally understand the sadness at the thought of him not being there:( Hope your day improves.
