Just saw Kara's nappy advice too - I used 2 buckets too and I couldn't even hazard a guess on how much I've spent on nappies. It's still so much better than wasting money on disposibles which just end up in the bin - at least we still have all the nappies we spent all that money on.
Ooohhh I can't wait to wash them all in preparation and have them all flapping in the breeze on a sunny day - might have to buy some new ones too Grin

santamaxx · 30/12/2010 19:44

Oh LAST POST I promise Blush
Has everyone spotted the voucher for a FREE bumgenius AIO in the bounty book?? Wink

bananarama05 · 30/12/2010 20:04

jasmine I can't say I'm enjoying it too much so far and I'm 24 so don't put it all down to age! I too feel like I've been ill for 17 weeks but just have to keep thinking it will be worth it in the end. I think part of me is so worried about something going wrong I can't quite relax which can't help but just got to focus on the positive.

I've found having my first few (what I think) are movements over the last few days has helped me a bit more connected to bump so looking forward to them becomming stronger and DP being able to have a feel.

santamaxx my local sainsburys have run out of bounty packs :( They just said to keep checking back as and when, I would go to Boots but want the extra nectar points :) I told DP there must be a bit of a PG boom on locally (3 more people have announced at work since me too) and he told me it was just me noticing it more!

santamaxx · 30/12/2010 21:29

bananarama that's rubbish Sad - the voucher was in the book though - that the midwife should have given you.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 31/12/2010 08:45

Santaax - yep I have my BG voucher ready to use, want to wait until I find out the sex as if it is a girl I want a pink nappy!
Luckily all of my nappies are neutral coloured or patterned.

Any wraps that you do have until baby has solid poos should have gusseted legs - ME Airflow are like this, so they contain runny poo better.
Oh and if you're bfing don't bother with liners until after you introduce solids as bf poo is very runny and slimy and I found that it slid right off the liner!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 31/12/2010 08:46

Oh and I don't enjoy being pg - morning sickness and being fatter than usual.

jasmine51 · 31/12/2010 08:47

I havent had any bounty packs at all, I feel left out!

Mummynumber2 · 31/12/2010 09:03

I wish I could be one of those people who enjoys being pregnant but it hasn't worked out like that at all. Sickness, bleeding and constant worry are making me really dislike the experience to the point that I'm fairly sure this will be my only biological child. Sad

It's our Xmas eve today! We've got all the ingredients for a sit com here. A woman with altzheimers, a very hormonal teenager, an over tired 12 year old, a very over excited 9 y/o and pregnant woman. And then poor dp trying to hold it all together! Xmas Grin

That's rubbish about your bounty pack jasmine why haven't you been given it? I don't think I was given a voucher for the second don.

jasmine51 · 31/12/2010 09:27

Not sure mummy it hasnt been mentioned or offered. I think I'm supposed to be on the second one by now arent I? Well, no sign of even the first. I'll ask the MW next week but it might be because she is leaving (with no mention of replacement in my area) so perhaps they are running down on stocks.

Good luck with your christmas eve...sounds like it could be 'amusing'...make sure the camcorder is out, could be some money to be made out of 'You've Been Framed' moments!

Woohoo! Great news Leroy!

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 15:25

ahhh congrats leroy :)

jasmine51 · 31/12/2010 17:56

Yay Leroy welcome to the boys club!

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 18:03

i think we need a tally of who is expecting girls/boys :)

jasmine51 · 31/12/2010 18:34

Boy for me on the tally!

Question - is anyone elses bump lopsided? When I'm using my doppler the bub is always on the left side and that side it noticably harder than the right. In 2 weeks I havent noticed any time when the bump has been on the right.

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 18:41

jasmine- hmmmm i havnt noticed its wonky yet, but i havnt really been looking i will prob start noticing now youve mentioned it

jasmine51 · 31/12/2010 19:03

Maybe its because my 'cheese belly' is in the way!
Im just wondering because with a retroverted uterus there is a little more shuffling and movement to be done and my imagination has come up with the idea that its got stuck! Got my MW apt next week (if they recruit a new one in time) and will ask then...just another question on the long list
Happy New Year everyone...its going to be a big one for all of us!

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 19:26

wots a retroverted uterus?

jasmine51 · 31/12/2010 19:30

Points backwards rather than forwards.

milliemuffin · 31/12/2010 19:36

Hi ladies - guess who's DS has chicken pox!

I had it when I was little so hopefully all is ok but looks like we're all housebound for the next week at least! We didn't have any plans for tonight but we were supposed to be spending tomorrow with the in-laws (including DP's pregnant sister) like we do every year then dinner at my parents on sunday.

He's not bothered by the spots at the moment but they only came out this afternoon. I met a friend who's 32 weeks pregnant on tuesday so I've had to ring and let her know, don't want to worry her but I think she should know.

I'm just wondering if DD is going to catch it aswell. In a way I hope she does to get it over and done with but I don't fancy dealing with two spotty irritable children! And not to mention DP's never had it and it's his 40th birthday in 3 weeks!

Happy New Year all!! xxx

Jasmine - I've been the same obsessing over the same (regarding more babies!) so much so that dh and I have had several long chats about it over the past week or so and I've been glued to loads of threads on here regarding family size. This is number 3 for us and although for a while there we were definately saying there would be a number 4 and maybe even a 5, I think we've finally decided this will be our last.

If it makes you feel any better I absolutely hate being pregnant. I dont even think its down to feeling rubbish (despite being really ill with this one, I had a relatively "easy" pregnancy with ds and still counted the days until it ended (and I mean literally!! on a calender PML..). I dont feel like myself when Im pregnant - theres so much I cant do - not just drink and smoke (although that would be nice!! Grin) but lift heavy things and various diy things. I like being independant and doing things for myself and hate that Im vulnerable and somewhat perceived as delicate when Im pregnant. I like nice clothes and wearing heels and looking ok.. when Im pregnant I look like an elephant.

Its not an age thing, I was 19 when I was pregnant with dd (had her 3 weeks after my 20th birthday) 24 with ds and will be 25 with ds and I find it hard. Dont let me put you off though, obviously the end result is worth every single second (and more! otherwise I wouldnt keep on having them). Ive often said I'd have 10 newborns in the house, just hate the process to get them here!!!. I am cant wait for this little one and I cant wait for all the things I can do once Im "back to myself".

I've also just realised (including MC) I've been pregnant for almost 68 weeks in total since Jan 09!!!!

PML at Banana's michael jackson sneezing image

Kara, how lovely of you to think of me!! thank you so much. Water back on day 11!! Just dont know myself!! have been wafting through piles and piles of washing since so havent been on much. Am so delighted - really appreciate it now!! have had about 6 baths Grin. Myself and DH were like kids turning on and off the taps and flushing toilets when it came back PML..

Hope everyone is really well and having a fabulous new years eve - quite one for me, dh is working, kids are in bed and Im looking forward to eating chocolate, MNetting for a while and going to bed with Royle family box set. Sad, arent I Smile

Happy new year all!! imagine, after 12 our babies will be due this year...

BarbieLovesKen · 31/12/2010 22:09

Ooooh am definately feeling kicks!!. Was slightly concerned as I'd felt ds move sice 16 weeks but over 18 now and nothing. Thought in the last few days there was something "stirring" but couldnt be sure but yep, tonight, lots and lots of definate little prods in the fanjo Grin

This is the one part of pregnancy that I do really adore - I love to feel baby move (and feel it get stronger and stronger and then see it!!) I usually miss this once baby is born.

Ooooh very happy.
