mouffloncake · 20/12/2010 15:20

I'm rubbish at adding links, "try here

KaraStarbuckThrace · 20/12/2010 15:24

Congrats Catherine!

Thanks for the link Moufflon :)

Clarkiee · 20/12/2010 15:25

Oh dear sounds like there are a few of us suffering Sad. My mum has just been round and made me soup Grin Not even bothered getting dressed yet!

Congrats catheriine only 5% of birth happen on the actual due date so you might be a June girl yet (I'm certain I'll be giving birth in May anyway) x

jinglebellssantasmells · 20/12/2010 15:27

catherineps- congrats glad the scan went well :)

Clarkiee · 20/12/2010 15:27

Hmm never heard of that Coconut water stuff- ot looks like something you'd find in Lidl {grin] I like coconut so when I eventually leave the house I'll have a look for it x

mouffloncake · 20/12/2010 16:12

Excellent news catherine was thinking of you this morning :)

clarkie lol, yes, it does look like something out of lidl. You can get cheap stuff in a can in Tesco but its got sugar & stuff added & is really yucky.
It's not really coconutty iykwim? Its the water from indide the coconut. Not coconut milk or anything (altho I do like a splash of that in a pina colada, mmmm).

Moog72 · 20/12/2010 16:32

Congrats catherine.

Sorry so many people are feeling rough - fingers crossed you improve soon!

How is everyonme getting on with finding names? we have a girl's name sorted but don't have any boys names we really love - it's so hard - boys names are hard..

jinglebellssantasmells · 20/12/2010 16:50

I am not alone with the boys names issue then!

Reuben was on my list too Leroy but DH knonws someone with that name that he dind't like.... on wiht the search I guess!

knackered76 · 20/12/2010 17:32

Catherine Grin fab news on the scan!

I think we're pretty much sorted on names for either. It helps that we reduced the names down to ones beginning with J! I had loads of boys names I love but dh wouldn't have any of it! We now have a couple of boys names, of which my favourite is slowing growing on him so I'll keep up the work and in a few months he'll like it fully :)

jinglebellssantasmells · 20/12/2010 17:33

oh i also like jayden and jackson for boys

mouffloncake · 20/12/2010 17:43

moog We are having dificulty with boys names too :( We only have Jacob.

Girls names a plenty, think have decided on Imogen Summer.
(thumbs up jingle)

So, of course, its bound to be a boy.

Glad to see we aent alone with the boys name dilmma!

mouffloncake · 20/12/2010 17:46

Had anybody else started looking at pushchairs/prams/buggies? Think Im getting excited.

Quite like the iCandy Cherry or Apple & the Bugaboo Bee & Chameleon but trying to investigate cost & weight.

When does one buy such things? Or indeed anything for lo?

Im my head, I am looking forward to the 20wk mark & think will feel brave enough to suggest we go look at "stuff" with dh after then.

NoMoreSnowPlease · 20/12/2010 17:47

Mouflon and Merilon (sorry about sp) just reading through and saw your bit about hairloss and iron. I lost quite a bit of hair with DS and had no iron in my system by the time he was born (was raging about the MW who didn't do the iron test at 24wks because I was about to move out of the country). This time I haven't lost nearly as much hair and have been taking the prenatal vitamins, partly because I was so anaemic last time. So find that rather interesting. Hmm!

Not personally going for the flu jab because I never get the flu jab. I'm more prone to colds and other things that can't be vaccinated against anyway.

At least I'm over the weekends virus and want to eat. And eat and eat some more. Have some crispy M&Ms ready for after dinner Grin

Good news on the scan Catherine

I have my girl name sorted (left over from DS and still love it) Ds took 3 days to name, so if it's another boy we'll probably have the same issue again.

Dinner time! first time I've been excited about dinner in AGES Grin

jinglebellssantasmells · 20/12/2010 17:56

moufflon- thats a lovely name, i do love the name summer but i wud really like a boy this time so trying not to think about girls names too much

DD is driving me nute today wud not eat any ofthe dinner i made her and have just gave her juice and she poured it all out over the tv cabinet grrrr

Northernrose · 20/12/2010 18:43

Hello ladies...I know I am very late but only just discovered this birth club and wondered if I could join in the fun?

I am 14 weeks today, due June 20th, it is DC2 and we have DD1 who is 10 months old. Sooo looking forward to our 20 week scan at the very end of January to see bubba again, and DH very keen to find out whether it's a boy or a girl so I think I'll let him! Did last time, and we both liked knowing although I hadn't wanted to!!

Thinking about names too...we think we know what we'll choose...

GoodVibrations · 20/12/2010 18:52

jasmine just checked my M&S maternity and nursing bras and they all have seams down the middle. Bfeeding pads may well help, as long as you get the more expensive ones (such as Johnsons) or even the washable ones (though never used those so no advice there).

catherine hurray - great news on the scan!

Leroy I feel baby kicking but it is still very very early. Some of my friends who are on baby no.2 only felt movements around 20-22 weeks. It all depends on your shape/ body size, position of the baby, position of the placenta etc. Don't worry plenty of time yet! (then you will be complaining about kicks in the ribs in the middle of the night!!!)

expecting I would say that your immunity is passed on to baby, but check with your midwife (I had horrendous stomach bug and was told that baby was fine, it was me that was suffering, your body puts baby first)

moufflon I have a bugaboo bee. It's been fab, but is quite small so not sure how much longer it will last size-wise (though DD is nearly 2). It's lasted well so will use next time aswell. It's great for shopping and turning in small spaces with one hand, but not great for off-road.

Sorry for those feeling unwell. We're all still full off colds here but really looking forward to Christmas. Pretty organised, just a bit of wrapping left to do! Might start on the Christmas goodies tonight (yum Grin)

santamaxx · 20/12/2010 18:56

GV I've used the washable breast pads. They are VERY visible under clothes and don't work for me since I leak like a leaky tap and they soak through in moments.

Clarkiee · 20/12/2010 18:58

We can't think of boys names either and we need two!! argh! Had one we both liked but not sure if I've gone off it.

Middle names -I think we should go with DH's dads name Michael and my Dads middle name John (his first name is Donald and he hates it- goes by the name of Don). I like the name Michael generally but my brother, DH's brother and DH's dad are already called Michael!

Welcome Northernrose Xmas Grin

Started looking at prams- I want the lightest, narrowest double buggy around please. Baby jogger has good reviews (can't jog with it apparentlt but thats fine by me).

santamaxx · 20/12/2010 18:58

Welcome to the group northernrose Smile

Is anyone else still thoroughly exhausted all the time and can hardly bear to leave the armchair?

I'm 16wks - surely this should be passing by now!
