i know i should be grateful that he is excited and wants to be involved especially hearing stories on here from other peoples DP/DH who are not being very nice or supportive......guess they just cant win LOL

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 14:21

On a lighter note........what cravings are people having. Mine is fizzy water, dont normally like it and i am drinking so much of it. Just cant get enough. Its so wierd.......wish it was something more exciting though like chocolate or cakes LOL

Hi everyone, had an awful week last week with snotty, fluey virus and then cystitis. GP gave me some antibiotics which I had an awful reaction to and made me more poorly than I was to start with. Hoping this week is going to be a little bit easier.

A very strange thing has happened to my belly button. It has sort of 'opened up' into a perfect circle and I can see right to the bottom of it, whereas before it was like a frown. It was a bit itchy so had a bit of a rustle around in there with some tweezers and pulled something out and told my brother it was my original umbilical scab (whilst wafting it in his face) which make him feel sick Grin

Hope everyone's snow troubles are getting easier and it's a better week for us all.

Take care.

DaisyFields · 13/12/2010 14:24

Anything pickled for me, Moomin, I'm off to raid the pickled onion jar!

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 14:25

oh i opened the christmas pickled onions yesterday, they were delicious with a big chunk of cheddar

knackered76 · 13/12/2010 14:30

Carbs, carbs and more carbs. Really need to stop though as am resembling a weeble already Blush!

8rubberduckies · 13/12/2010 14:45

Hi all, hope you had lovely weekends Smile. Mine was a mixed bag, had a lovely day yesterday putting up the Christmas tree and getting all Christmassy, but had a massive row with dp Saturday afternoon. We seem to row so much at the moment and our relationship just seems to be filled with misunderstandings and bad communicationSad. I hope things sort themselves out; we were so happy during most of our 1st pg...

Moomin good that you and your dp have had a good chat. Oh, and put your foot down about those lie-ins; ever since DS was born DP has given me a lie-in every weekend he wasn't working, even when I was b-feeding he would just bring him up for a feed then take him off again. In return dp gets left alone to sleep to his heart's content once a week as well.

Glad you've found somewhere to live potentially nurse. Let us know how it goes.

Milliemuffin hope your bleeding has stayed away.

Barbie hope the weather has thawed a bit ain Ireland. We have escaped in Bristol with just a smattering of snow and manageable ice, but your story reminded me of my trials and tribulations last winter, although I never had my ass eyed up by helpful men in tractors Wink Grin.

8rubberduckies · 13/12/2010 14:47

PS Think yourself lucky Moomin you're craving fizzy water, I am craving sugary fizzy drinks, and carbs, carbs carbs, especially if they are the sort of carbs doused in sugar Smile.

jbells · 13/12/2010 15:01

8rd- i am also craving carbs but i do anway, i am a big rice and pasta eater, strange as in the first trimester i cudnt stomach anythin except, plain food like burger and chips now i want lots of flavour and spicy food

well i am exhausted today DP decided that because he was not feeling good and cudnt sleep he wud wake me up pawing at me, i tried to ignore him but it didnt work, so he woke me at half 3 so annoyed and he had the cheek this morning to say he didnt try and wake me up he was just snuggling me lol, then DD woke up at 6am shes got a bad chest normally she doesnt get up till btween half 7 and 8 made me wonder how i will cope with a new born waking up at stupid oclock for feeding, keep remindng myself that the sleep deprivation wont last forever

jbells · 13/12/2010 15:02

oh and moomin, your DP is rite about the not sleeping but thats even more of a reason to get lots and lots and lots now while u can, tell him your storing it up hehe

8rubberduckies · 13/12/2010 15:10

Jbells my dp is a midnight pawer as well - drives me absolutely nuts. He can't get his head around why I'm not frisky at 3am when I was fast asleep 10 seconds before!

jbells · 13/12/2010 15:17

i know its so annoying, but then once im wide awake it takes me foreva to go back to sleep, while he happily snoozes away, tonite i will be sleeping with a pillow btween us lol if hes anythin like he was last time once my bump becomes more obvious he wont want to come near me anyway ahhhh peace lol

8rubberduckies · 13/12/2010 15:20

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 16:42

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 16:56

cameli · 13/12/2010 17:15

Speaking of cravings the only thing I crave is pur orange juice. Am only eating food cos I know I have to but I fancy nothing-ever!

I'm eating Heinz tomato soup with crusty bed at the moment but I'm only eating cos I have to. I want my appetite back :(

santamaxx · 13/12/2010 17:36

Why on earth have I been feeling queasy all day today - I haven't had nausea for ages and BAM it's back - at 15+2 Xmas Shock

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 17:59

that was like me last week santamax.....no nausea for 14 weeks then whambam 3 days of retching and vomitting. All gone away again now

bananarama05 · 13/12/2010 18:04

cameli I'm dreaming of the day I get my appetite back too. I used to love cooking but just can't stomach it these days.

I had about 4 weeks of not wanting anything but really bland food, mainly out of a tin. Thank good thats over and I can look at fruit and veg again!

jasmine51 · 13/12/2010 18:46

mummy I promised I would ask the EPU about the cramps..... apparently around this time in pg, the uterus begins to move upwards This movement shuffles things around and quite often causes odd pains and cramps. As long as the cramps are not rhythmic or accompanied by bleeding, they are fine. If they get too painful then ring mw or epu. santa One other thing she said that was interesting...as the uterus moves it might also produce a surge of hormones to safeguard the pg and this can be why nausea suddenly returns for a while.

I've had an educational day!

Hope everyone is well and those of you waiting for thursday scans are getting excited!

Had another EPU apt today where they detected protein in my urine. Mind you whilst I was there they said the same to at least 5 other women..perhaps they had a duff batch of testing papers.

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 18:50

jasmine thank you for that information, its really helpful and explains my sudden bout of sickness and all these strange pains lots of us have been experiencing

jbells · 13/12/2010 18:52

like everyone else, i completly lost my apetite up untill about 14 wks, however it then can bak with vegence lol, now at 17wks i cud constantly eat, ive already put on 5 and a half pounds ooops oh well time to get fat hehe

Adding myself to the list as I had my 12 week scan today. Just waiting for the triple test results now, the nuchal was good at 1.58, but the sonographer made it very clear that the bloods could say something different. It wasn't an easy scan for her, the baby was standing on its head and not keen to move!

petitech · 13/12/2010 19:10

jbells you have already put on 5.5lbs!!! That is nothing, I was just about to post on here that I'm worried I've put on way too much, I'm about 15.5 and have now put on a good stone. I looked online and apparently that's abotu 9lbs more than I should have gained by this point! I have quite a prominent bump now too. I have joined up to a local country club / gym so that I can start doing some gentle exercise - swimming etc and pregnancy yoga starts tomorrow.
I'm 5ft 1 and usually pretty petite at a small size 10.
Does anyone think I should be concerned that I am gaining too much too quick?!?

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 19:21

i think i have gained about 12lb......at 15.0, so not far off you petitech, but im usually a size 14 and 5'5. My neighbour has just been round and said i dont look any different which i think i should take as a compliment as i feel really fat, not pg just fat. i wouldnt worry too much, you can always lose it again afterwards
