Some excting news! Felt baby kick today! Very lightly, but there were definitely two solid kicks and have since felt movement! It definitely is beginning to feel real because I have began feeling like an imposter of a pregnant lady!

moomin I can sympathise with you, I just cannot wait for baby to be out as I am finding it hard to even talk about baby in fear of something bad happening. Had to see consultant today and came over all funny when he asked to listen to heartbeat. Roll on June I say!

jbells · 13/12/2010 20:02

petitech- i am also 5ft 1 and a size 10 was a size 8 before i had DD boohoo :( i started my pg with DD at 8 stone and ended up ova 11.5 stone so i am hoping not to put on quite as much this time as i was 8stone 12 when i got pg this and im now between 9.3/4 i wudnt worry too much i think some people hold prob a good 5 pound of water weight to begin with, im just trying to be more sensible this time as last time with it being my first pg i took advantage and ova indulged Grin

expectingbaby- ahhh congrats on feeling the movement its such a nice feeling

listened to the heartbeat on my doppler today and found it pretty easily was very loud and strong i cud sit and listen to it for ages

GoodVibrations · 13/12/2010 21:12

Really busy at the mo so struggling to keep up!

Millie hope all goes well on Thursday, it's good that the discharge has gone clear

JBells and expecting - great news on feeling kicks, very exciting!! I have been feeling them every day but they are still gentle so don't notice during the day. I lie in bed at night and hold my tummy and after a while there they are. Lovely lovely part of pregnancy!

On the weight issue, I've put on 7lbs which I thought was pretty good at 17 weeks. Then I remembered that due to a stomach bug early on I had actually lost 5 lbs, so actually not so good!!.

I finish work for Christmas on Thursday, very excited indeed!! Off for 2 whole weeks :)

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 21:28
  • goodd vibrations) very jealous of your 2 weeks off. I have 2 days :(
moomin156 · 13/12/2010 21:29

think i need to learn to type.......lol

GoodVibrations · 13/12/2010 21:44

moomin only 2 days off, poor you! Do you have to work or do you not have any holidays left? If it's any consolation I have been working very long hours to try and get everything done for my hols, but will be worth it, think I'll sleep for the first week!

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 21:47

Annual leave ban over christmas and newyear period..........so just my days off. working boxing day and new years eve, so its not too bad.......

moomin156 · 13/12/2010 21:47

thats why i have a week off this week.......so i dont get stressed and everything will be sorted by this weekend.

GoodVibrations · 13/12/2010 22:17

:(

santamaxx · 13/12/2010 22:36

moomin and jasmine- thanks for the reassurance - and what interesting info about the hormone surge - it really explains things. Hope it's gone by tomorrow...wishful thinking??

petitech don't worry - I always put on large amounts - particularly early on. I'm also normally a size 10 - I think it's possibly connected and your body is trying to quickly make some fat stores so retains a lot of calories, and boosts your appetite. I really worried my first pregnancy particularly - but now I just think it's your body taking over - deciding you're not quite storing enough fat for bfing etc. Xmas Smile
Alternatively, as someone said, it could just be water reserves.
My face always gets really big right at the start and I quickly get a double chin which is the worst thing about weight gain lol

NoMoreSnowPlease · 14/12/2010 09:25

Sorry still catcing up, but Moomin don't wish choclate cravings on yourself! I craved chocolate with DS and I still haven't lost all the weight I gained (and no chance to for another year now)!

No real cravings here yet. Just eating food is a big thing sometimes. Do get occasional cravings for food from home though, just to be annoying.

Right back to catching up.

NoMoreSnowPlease · 14/12/2010 09:36

Oh oh I have my 20wk scan date already! it's in mid Jan, so I'll be about 18 weeks I think. I'm sure they wouldn't have booked me in then if it was to early. Mind you there is so much going on between now and then that I'm not really hanging out for it (yet). DH keeps asking if I've felt any movement yet. Like I'd forget to tell him something like that!

Right need to get ready to take DS to his first playgroup visit. Didn't think this day would happen. Last week it was snowed off and yesterday he had a fever all day, so thought he might still be unwell today. But no, he's well and there has been no more snow Xmas Grin

Morning everyone, I also have my 20 week scan date......20th January. It was booked when i went for my 12 week one. Its also my birthday on that date......i have mixed feelings about that, but i was sqeezed in so darent ask to change. It will be lovely to see the baby again though, just anxious as its the detailed scan and they will look at Downs markers for us due to our nuchal result......
Hopefully the MW will listen for the heart beat at my 16 week appointment (xmas eve), that will really help me feel better.

Thursday is getting very close for all you scan buddies.....Yippee.

moomin156 · 14/12/2010 09:52

Must stop trying to be negative........be positive and happy and enjoy the prgnancy.......LOL, this is my new mantra! it obviously didnt work

Right I am off to face Birminghams Bullring as it seems to be the only place that has shops that stock maternity clothes......forward planning as i think in another 2-3 weeks i will no longer fit into my jeans. Wish me luck......ive also decided to drive as its miserable and cant face the train and all that hanging around LOL

Good luck Moomin! You are very brave!

cameli · 14/12/2010 11:57

Just had to chase up my results from my Nuchal scan/bloods & the result is low risk at 1 in 9600. Really cheered me up-just have to be positive about my gender scan tonight altho I'm more than happy to just see a heart beat.

20 week scan is 12 jan :)

jbells · 14/12/2010 12:02

cameli- how exciting do u have a feeling as to wot your having?

moomin- goodluck braving the shops

cameli · 14/12/2010 12:29

I'd put money on it being a boy jbells.

neenewps · 14/12/2010 12:30

Just thought I would pop in and let you all know that my scan went well today.

I now feel excited and it feels real. I can honestly say that the scan was absolutely amazing. The baby was lying back at first with the left hand behind the head, the right hand up in the air and a leg outstretched - was very funny.

Then it rolled over and we could see the ribcage and the heartbeat.

I have also been brought forward to 22nd June. So I will add myself to the stats.

I feel completely overwhelmed by the whole experience right now. Am off to Sainsburys to bring myself back down to earth! :o

ps I hope everyone is well. Sorry I haven't caught up but will do later on x

Congratulations neenewps, we are due date buddies! (Not that that means we'll give birth at the same time, ds had to be crowbarred out at 42 weeks Grin).
