PDR you can pick start date, needs to be after 29th week of pregnancy. Direct gov website has good info, or you can pick up form from local dole office.

wigglesrock · 25/11/2010 22:02

PDR Apologies, only accepting short posts!! You need to supply 13 weeks of payslips during test period but they don't have to be consecutive.

PDR · 26/11/2010 08:14

Thanks wiggles I seem to remember when I claimed it with DS you couldn't send the form in until after you had stopped work.

Not using a mobile no Zero but the page keeps loading "with errors"?

ledkr · 26/11/2010 15:20

hello girls, are you messing up the site?
pdr I was having regular and painfull braxton hicks last night and i honestly went to bed thinking id be in hospital that night.Seems ok now tho.I have asked around and it seems that the braxton hicks not being painfull is abit of a myth.
Been busy cleaning the house and shopping as pil coming down for weekend :( haha
I am having my baby shower early so that mil can be present but she has acted as if im just muscling in on precious time with her ds (dh) i am bit pd off cos rearranging it means 2 close friends cant come.I cant seem to get it right with them at all.Still itwill be interesting to see if i get a gift from her as nothing so far.I mentioned somehting a bit sarcy to dh in morrisons today and he got all defensive,i told him if he wanted arow id give him one right there in the crisp aisle so he wisely shut up haha.
I def think teh 3rd trimester as hit me now.I am very touchy. I told dh last night he would have to move out as i wasnt very partial to him,he just laughed.
I feel all relaxed now cos the house is tidy. Does anyone else feel like that or am i obsessed?

ledkr · 26/11/2010 15:21

sorry about the typos,i think that is the sites fault too.

angels1 · 26/11/2010 15:37

Ledkr my mum had really painful braxton hicks with my sister alot and goes on to me about it. Makes me Shock and Confused and worried about when/if it'll happen to me too. Lucky you getting a baby shower Envy. Anyone else having one? I'm not :(

I think you can't please all of the people all of the time ledkr, so don't even bother trying.

Forecast here is for snow this weekend/next week

wigglesrock · 26/11/2010 15:41

Ledkr Tidied the house yesterday, sense of achievement strangely satisfying Grin Enjoy the inlaws Wink and have a great shower.

PDR Sorry for all the stop and start posts last night, felt like I was sending a telegram in WWII!!!

Had 28/9 week appt with midwife this afternoon, all good, baby still breech and being a bit of a bugger to find but we got there in the end. Had all my bloods done, managed to get a co-operative vein eventually.

angels1 · 26/11/2010 15:47

wiggles your veins sound like mine - they mysteriously hide at the first sign of a needle!

I think my baby must be breech practically all the time as I feel kicks very low down and hardly ever very high. Hope this isn't the start of her getting comfy in this position Confused

PDR · 26/11/2010 16:43

wiggles and angels a med student tried to take my blood three times! In the end I told him to go away and come back in 20 mins which he did and luckily the doctor supervising him came at the same time and saw all the bleeding holes in my arm and took pity on me LOL!

PDR · 26/11/2010 16:52

angels I am having a baby shower - being organised by my best friend - I'm not that fussed TBH but couldn't refuse! It's not going to be one with games etc, we're having lunch at a post restaurant then going to a spa and having 3 treatments each. We all have children under 3 so not up for much else! A couple of my friends cannot make it as have had babies in the last few weeks so it will only be small!

PDR · 26/11/2010 16:53

ledkr what are you doing for your shower?

EauRouge · 26/11/2010 16:57

I'm not having a shower. DH thought I should have one when I was expecting DD but I flatly refused- not my thing at all! I was meant to go to one last night but luckily DH was working late Grin

angels It could be that your placenta is high and that's why you're not feeling much up top. I've got an anterior placenta and I'm only getting kicks at the side and headbutts in the cervix Hmm

ledkr · 26/11/2010 17:19

I am looking fwd to it actually. We are having a nice lunch here playing a few games and having a raffle for my niece who has downs and needs a special bike. It starts at one and we all seem to have girls the same age so dd will have her own little party.
My movements are all over the place.I get some flickering on my bladder and lots of pokes on my right side.Last night dd lay her head on my bump and the baby kicked her in the head twice,it was so sweet as she was giggling and had tears in her eyes.
TMI alert but i have to ask.Are any of you finding it ahem-a bit difficult to keep fresh in the old lady garden?I have had to but some lady wipes for the first time and do shower or bath every day,i have no other symptoms such as itching or discharge im just a bit pongy Blush please reassure me.

JustOneMorePlease · 26/11/2010 18:03

ledgr you made me chuckle about not being partial to your dh!

I'm not all that partial to many things at the mo, was weepy about not being able to spring off the sofa last night.... Needed to go to bed (not that I'd admit it)!

Having loads of strong tight Braxton hicks, esp on an evening. Think my floppy uterus is going to take some some getting into gear.

No baby shower Sad but I don't need anything for this baby as I have kept everything from the previous 3dc's. Some choccies wouldn't go a miss though!!!

Have a lovely weekend all, hope the weather behaves (am terrified of slipping on ice on school run)!

lostfromoz · 26/11/2010 18:08

ledkr, I'm having the same with the 'freshness' issue. It's quite horrifying, I've become the Lady Macbeth of the vagina, scrubbing away like a maniac. I noticed it more last week than this, though, so maybe it's one of those fleeting symptoms that kindly disappear.
Am struggling with the emotional ups and downs. Yesterday I felt like the world was my oyster, today struggling to put one foot in front of the other. Would like to be even-tempered again some day.

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 26/11/2010 18:26

Oh I'd love a baby shower Envy! but I daren't suggest one in case my friends think I'm trying to get what I can out of them, although I'm sure we'll get presents anyway! Grin

I've still got loads to sort. Need to get our study sorted then we can put the baby's wardrobe and changing table in there but first we need to buy DD a new wardrobe and chest of drawers so that we can empty them of DD's stuff. We need to get all DD's old baby clothes/Moses basket etc down from the attic and figure out what we can use again and what we will need to buy. The stuff that we can use again needs washing and sorting AND I've only 13 weeks left AND it's Xmas and I've not finished Xmas shopping... And breathe!

Hello ladies hope everyone is well today Grin!

PDR · 26/11/2010 19:05

I know what you mean about ponging Shock I am also finding that my BO is stronger than usual sometimes and no amount of showering helps! I have changed deoderant for that and also bought some lady wipes for the other ledkr!

tadjennypumpkinpie · 27/11/2010 04:27

One of my friends here wants to throw me a baby shower as we are in the US anyway! I don't know, but it could be a nice excuse for a get together. I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet and have to send stuff a long way - I'd better get on with it! Grin

ledkr · 27/11/2010 07:21

Oh joy that you all smell too! I feel so aware of it. I have often wondered what fem fresh were for as i felt a daily shower kept things "in check"
Well the pil are here asleep as i write. They were stil not here by 10 so me and dd went up to bed.I thought that was abit rude tbh as im 30 wks pg and quite tired.of course poor dh had to saty up and wait and he was tired from all my whip cracking during the day.He came up at midnight,i have been awake since six so have been downstairs watching sat tv-yawn.I am so bored. We have had alight dusting of snow so will probably spend half the morning explainng to dd that we cant go sledging in a mm of snow. :)

ledkr · 27/11/2010 07:23

tad you could get your frinds to buy you a xmas pressie each instead of a baby gro or vests-that way you get your shopping done-sorted haha

wigglesrock · 27/11/2010 08:41

Morning Ledkr up as early as us, think I may be having lady garden issues, just noticed over the past few days. Hopefully those in-laws will be up to keep you company soon Grin Lovely idea having party for dd as well. We have some snow but am taking dd1 to Room on the Broom show in town today so hoping it disappears.

I would love a baby shower but probably don't have enough friends Shock and couldn't stand the stress of relatives Grin

Now officially having work problems, worked yesterday and went back in for a few hours last night, wanted to leave an hour earlier (9.00pm instead of 10pm) mainly because I was knackered having already done a 5 hour shift and weather was looking really dodgy. I popped into the office and asked, and the supervisor (who I don't really know) was arsey about it. I told her it didn't matter I would stay (don't know where I keep getting these children who would cut their nose off to spite their face from Wink) I then went to my little store room and had a cry, the shame Blush She then approached me twice to tell me I could go needless to say her offer was politely refused. Am off today anyway and not back until Monday, but sorry for rant just wanted to get it off my chest, couldn't be bothered talking to Mr Wiggles about it, he'll get annoyed (with them) and I just want to get the next few weeks over with.

Right wallow over, time to get excited about taking 5 year old to puppet show filled with hundreds of other 5 year olds Grin

PDR · 27/11/2010 09:28

Oh wiggles so sorry work are being so mean! God I thought having to work until 7.30pm was late - goodness knows how you cope with 10pm! What date are you planning on starting mat leave again?

We've got relatives coming tomorrow so just staying at home today and trying to get the house presentable. My mum has just popped to the shops for me (have not felt well enough to leave the house since hosp incident) as DS soaked right through his nappy last night Shock so need to get some bigger and more absorbant ones! He's got such a tiny waist I still buy quite small nappies for him so they don't fall down but think I'll have to start using a bigger size at night.

Sorry that's a really boring post!

knittakid · 27/11/2010 10:54

Hello all,
I guess it's normal to feel emotionally unstable, right? today I'm fine, two days ago I could not stop crying...

Thanks for advice re MA, will have to go and talk to HR about it, but it seems unlikely, basically I'm about 3 weeks short of the 26 weeks...

Bit Envy of those with baby showers...

PDR · 27/11/2010 11:12

knitta I am not sure if this would work - maybe someone in HR could advise you but could you possibly register as self-employed for the first few weeks you have off and then claim MA after that? Or maybe that's highly illegal and I should shut up now!!!!
