I'd been using the phone version anyway (when on my phone) as although I could browse, read messages, etc. on my phone using the main site it wouldn't let me log in.

WanderingSheep · 25/11/2010 14:26

Oh Zero bless your friend Grin! Are you going for WB? The ones I've seen on TV always look so wonderful. The baby always comes out really calm, no crying as they aren't coming out into such a different environment. I was unsure whether to go for one myself this time. I'm not sure how many pools there are at my hospital.

The emoticons look tiny on this phone version of MN!

Want a water birth at hospital but no idea if ill be able to have one or if there will even be a pool free when I do. But love the idea of it, it looks so painless [optimistic emoticon]

Just had YET ANOTHER cock up at the doctors who ONCE AGAIN got my appointment date wrong causing me to take lots of time off needlessly. And they were so unapologetic about it too. I am going to look into complaints and whether we can change surgeries. Anyone know if its easy to change doctors or not?

We changed drs when DD was born. It was easy, just a case of going to new DRs, asking to join and filling in form. We also needed to have a medical with the nurse. I'm not sure whether it was so easy because we had moved though. I wouldn't have thought so. I think if you just explain that your usual Drs are a PITA, I don't see why they won't take you on, particularly as you are having a baby!

Liking the new Xmas name btw!

I imagine a WB makes it easier for baby to come out too, as you are squatting which is the best position for them.

Off to pick DD up from pre-school! I'm sooo cold!

Thank you. Will probably put up Christmas tree this weekend in order to cheer myself up. After having gone completely off chocolate for the first part of my pregnancy I am now very much back on it. Very much.

Thanks for support - honestly this group is so nice as it feels as though I can winge without judgement! Have spoken to boss today, am going to cut down to 22 hours over 3 days so hopefully rest days will help matters...

The idea of a water birth seems nice in theory, but (maybe this an urban myth) I was told that the father is often handed a little net in order to catch any rogue poos that may escape during birth and float in the birthing pool? This really put me off - I have a DP who genuinely likes to think that women don't fart, burp or generally have unpleasant bodily functions... if he were to see me poo I think he'd withhold sex for ever! Anyone had a nice experience of a water birth to inspire everybody?

angels1 · 25/11/2010 18:00

am feeling fed up as just had my message deleted somehow :(

I think the jist was the hop[e PDR is OK and feeling better now.

Jealous of zero putting up christmas tree so early as we arn't having one this year for first time ever due to moving on boxing day.

I had the worst bloating ever last night and super painful indegestion - not sure what I ate that caused it though. My tummy was so big and bloated I measured it and it went up by over a whole toilet roll sheet from bloating Shock.

xkatyx · 25/11/2010 18:23

hi everyone,

Im 29 weeks with my 3rd baby.

Just woundering if anyone feeling a tad scared about it all at the mo, being that it is my 3rd i thought i would be ok but i am very nervous.

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 25/11/2010 18:35

Not an urban myth mizk although they probably wouldn't ask the father to do it. Though you obviously could do a poo having a regular birth, supposedly its easier to clean up and less noticeable. Although your dp might want to accept now that you have bodily functions if he's going to be at your birth ;)

tadjennypumpkinpie · 25/11/2010 18:49

The water birth with my dh was lovely and much less painful. I am also a little bit scared xkatyx as am in a different country now so systems will be different.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 25/11/2010 18:51

Sorry, dh was there helping of course, but I meant my ds!

knittakid · 25/11/2010 19:41

PDR hope you are much better by now, what a scare!

I obviously blagged to early about feeling absolutely fantastic, for the past two days I just want to cry all the time. The ending of a book i was reading still makes me cry even though I finished it a week ago!

To top it all I finally requested a copy of my employment contract and found out that the dates are wrong and it will not be enough for getting SMP and probably not even MA! devastated by this, have to go a fight a bit (they wrote up my contract two days ago, even though I 'signed' [or thought I had] in July!) and see if I can get them to change it. It's not a school, it's the council.

Anyway, sorry had to moan about that.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 25/11/2010 20:19

I thought you could get MA anyway? I got that after I'd changed schools half way through my first pregnancy but I'd worked enough weeks to qualify. I thought I'd have to apply again for when ds was born as a school had not renewed my part-time contract (despite the dept wanting to) but I'd worked for the qualifying dates so the school had to pay! HTH

wigglesrock · 25/11/2010 20:59

knittakid I have just applied for MA, you need to have worked 26 weeks in a 66 week period. You need a form from employer stating why they won't pay you SMP. It might shame them into getting you sorted!!!

MizK Well done on getting work sorted, hopefully the rest days will help. My best friend had a water birth a few months ago, she really recommended it, but the poo net is true Grin although you may poo anyway during labour.

It's also my 3rd and I am really nervous, not sure why. Think it's because I know how fantastic and how much I've enjoyed my dds and am worried incase anything goes wrong!! Or else it's the panic of having 3 under 5.5 Wink

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 25/11/2010 21:16

Hello katie by the way, is there anything in particular you're nervous about? Just the pain generally? They do say that when you've had a couple any more after that are just like shelling peas (so says a wise old relative of mine)... no comfort to those of us on our firsts though...

PDR · 25/11/2010 21:16

Test

PDR · 25/11/2010 21:20

Wiggles when do you have to submit your MA claim? And can you choose which date you want to start?

PDR · 25/11/2010 21:22

I can't post anything longer than 1 line?

PDR · 25/11/2010 21:22

Maybe they are trying to say I shouldn't post so much? Blush

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 25/11/2010 21:31

Are you on a mobile PDR? They rejigged the mobile site today and I wonder if it's got "issues"

wigglesrock · 25/11/2010 21:51

test, trouble posting

wigglesrock · 25/11/2010 21:52

PDR I am 28 weeks and just sent mine in, you can do it up to 3 months after birth.
