ledkr I'm with you on the fake tan, I only use a light one but I look like the living dead without it! I'm pretty sure exertion brings on BHs as that's the way it's been with me (even walking up the hill to my house really slowly brings them on now). Sometimes I feel like ds is headbutting my bottom, is that right?
Great idea to have some photos done (love the idea of being able to edit out bits!), my friend wants to do some of me for OH but I feel sooo big and ugly that not sure.

wigglesrock · 23/12/2010 18:32

40 weeks pmsl at slaggy mummy, also having a slight issue with dd1(5) and wrapping paper. I had bought a seperate roll of wrapping paper to wrap Santa presents but she caught sight of it and has asked about it, although I told her that mummmy and daddy leave out wrapping paper for Santa. Think Mr Wiggles is now slightly concerned about my newly discovered ability to lie very convincingly at short notice.

Managed to get dds to see Santa today, they really enjoyed it, although am slightly put out that dd2(3) appears to be so enamoured with her Poundland Barbie, could have got her 50 of them instead of her Santa presents Xmas Grin

Have also been suffering from BH lately, quite bad with them yesterday but that was after the "big shop"

Oneof4 · 23/12/2010 19:12

Hi ladies

Found some real bargains in Mothercare today - sterlisers and bottles half price, if you don't already have them.

I'm getting loads of braxton hicks too and they are definitely linked to how much I do and how tired I am. Great excuse to take it easy!

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 20:36

Thanks for the tips girls, I will wear with confidence! - sorry I went AWOL there for a while. My Mum popped in and then kids were a nightmare going to bed - also silly and giggly and excited, what on earth will I threaten them with when Santa has been and gone. The Easter bunny doesnt have quite the same hold!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY for tomorrow Ledkr hope you have a nice meal. How romantic getting married on Xmas eve!

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 20:38

Oh polkadot I feel you Oso pain too! I hate that programme but they LOVE it. Stupid bear!

tadventjennyp · 23/12/2010 20:46

Sorry ledkr - entirely missed the part about your anniversary. Hope you have a lovely day!

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 20:49

DH calls him stupid bastard Oso when DS is not around 40 Blush I much prefer Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to Oso. I love the Octonaughts on Cbeebies but DS is having none of it Wink

Just back from late night shopping - had to get a few bits for DS becuase various lazy relatives had given me vouchers to get something for him. I would prefer the cash as at least I could put it into his CTF but vouchers for specific shops are a PITA. Now I have to write down what I've bought with whose vouchers etc for all the thank you notes.

ledkr not me with UTI tis jack I was just imparting my nonsense very useful advice Wink

Braxton Hicks definately come on with excersion - I get them if I have been lifting DS around quite a bit.

Bought Baby Name book whilst out so DH is now looking at it as we need to choose a middle name for George. It has to be George now becuase I have ordered a name plaque for his door to be made up...

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 20:52

Oh and some idiot nice lady asked me if I was due before Christmas which I presume to mean tomorrow ??! I will not be wearing this top out again Shock

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 21:02

Oh polkadot I love changing the names of the kids progs - Big Barn Farm is Big Bum Fun, Numberjacks are the Numbertwats and Oso is Special Agent Arsehole (because DS couldnt pronounce it properly for a while there and thats what it sounded like!) He he. My boys do love the Octonauts though - werent many Octo-themed Xmas gifts though, only a few books available on Amazon.

Have raided the kids sweetie tin (not that I am inclined to have one but whenever someone buys them sweets they go in this tin - in case you thought I was a terrible parent!) as there is no choc in the house - not sure how this happened - 2 days tils Xmas and NO Chocolate. I have gone wrong somewhere.....

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 21:09

You know they had sold out of biscuits in M&S tonight - plenty of turkeys Hmm People obviously have got their priorities right this year Grin.

Love Special Agent Arsehole. Will call him that from now on under my breath.

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 21:16

OMG you have just reminded me we have choc biscuits. DH has hidden them somewhere but I KNOW they're around somewhere

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 21:26

Hehe wish my DH had a secret stash Envy I am craving really odd things though - pickled onion monster much, turkey & cranberry sandwiches, bacon rolls to name but a few Blush I may not have gained weight up until now but I might start this week if I carry on!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness for stretchy maternity trousers!

wigglesrock · 23/12/2010 21:33

I have just opened a pick 'n' mix box of tooty fruities, fruit pastilles and fruit gums, do actually feel like I'm eating a tiny slice of heaven. Baby is getting quite excited by all the sugar.

Not a fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, its a bit worthy, and is it just me or are there only 5 episodes of Special Agent Arsehole Oso, I am trying to persuade dds to stop watching Oso ever since dd1 told me she was going to start jumping rope Xmas Shock. It's skipping you sweet deluded child Xmas Grin

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 21:37

Oooh I love Tootie Frooties. Am just watching Celeb Millionaire. David Hay (boxer) spends £1k a week on grub!!!!

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 21:56

"jumping rope" hahaha! I agree that there seem to be very limited plots on Oso - a lot of them today involved missions to space which DS enjoyed as "rocket" is his new word. We are getting some respite from Mr. Tumble though which I am very thankful for.

DS wakes in the morning asking for "mouse" which goes to "mouse mummy" then "mouse mummy NOW" lol. For a child with a speech delay this is very good communication Grin

40 I could easilly spend £1k a week purely on Pickled Onion Monster Munch Grin Nom nom nom......

wigglesrock · 23/12/2010 22:11

Yes 'Now' is a very popular word in our house. My 3 year old also seems to think 'please' is a command meaning the same as 'now'.

I was on e-online looking at the pictures, I'll admit it it's my guilty pleasure, and there was a picture of Penelope Cruz looking gorgeous, blooming etc, no bad hair days for her and she was really big. She is due the same time as me and is twice the size. I know I may be vain and that its all baby etc but it has made me smile that for once in my life I may actually be thinner than Penelope Cruz. Now pass me the tooty frooties.

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 22:13
PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 22:19

Gosh wiggles yes she does look big - loving her coat by the way - maybe her skinny legs make her bump look bigger?

wigglesrock · 23/12/2010 22:35

Polka don't take away my Christmassy feeling of superiority Xmas Grin, her skinny legs don't make her bump look bigger, she's huuuuuuuuge Xmas Smile.

Right off to bed, Mr Wiggles is on his last night shift for a couple of days, he's due to finish at 7am tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed everyone is on their best behaviour and he has a quiet night at work.

tadventjennyp · 24/12/2010 00:46

ooh, post a link wiggles when you get the chance. I love Penelope Cruz when she is in one of Almodovar's films. She is fantastic in her own language. You are of course superior because you are on this thread! Xmas Grin

knittamerrykid · 24/12/2010 10:23

re braxton hicks, I also get them when I walk a lot.

Just saw penelope cruz, if you think she's big what are you going to say of me????

I get the same feeling needto, it's really low and at the back, definetly someone pushing down.

happy aniversary ledkr, it'd be nice to go out! Ours is on the 28th and I hope the ice on the pavs. has gone so I am allowed out (currently stuck in the house, everybody around has fallen at least once and i don't want to).

40 I think the trick is in the tights and not so much on the length of the skirt, very low dennier would be bad IMO. Also the shoes... I wish i could wear shoes like Dauphne in Frasser when she was pregnant... right now I only wear walking boots.
It also sounds to me like your kids have a mum with the right priorities, If I don't think it necessary to get dressed on certain days, why would they? Xmas Blush

snowangels1 · 24/12/2010 11:52

Morning,

Tried to look up Penelope Cruz but couldn't find the piccie Hmm. I'm sure she's not as massive as me though - my bump has truly blossomed into the huuuugggggeeee category in the past week or so - I'm too scared to do TPT Confused . Speaking of celebs, I spotted a clip of mariah carey singing whilst pg the other day and she's getting quite big too (she's not due till after us tho I think) and apparently she's having twins. I don't know where she gets her lung power from to still manage to hit all the notes and not be too breathless! I also often think of poor Lilly Allen still and hope she's doing OK.

Happy Anniversary ledkr - hope your DH makes you put your feet up today Xmas Grin

BHs - the closest I think I've got to one was when I was walking too (only to the local shop and back though - but I have been crammed in with the snow so this was my longest walk I've got in a week or so).

I was sitting in bed last night and reached to get a glass of water from bedside table and there came a massive click from my back and I was in complete agony - I felt like one of those old men who bends down and gets stuck! Poor DH has had to help lug me out of bed this morning and I barely slept with horrible back ache :(. I would have had some paracetamol in the night but I couldn't reach it Confused. Hopefully it will go quickly as it's no fun barely being able to move - I guess this is one way to stop me lifting a finger with the house move (was hoping to start unpacking some baby bits into the new (well, new to us) wardrobe in the nursery). Poor DH - do feel sorry for him having to put up with me!

Which reminds me - since I took him to my mw apt last week (only as he wasn't working anyway) he has been very protective and trying to take care of me more and ask me if I'm OK alot - I wonder if mw had some kind of words to him when I had to go and do my wee sample Hmm.

knittamerrykid · 24/12/2010 11:56

How interesting angels, perhaps she did! Hope your back is better today, but it goes to show you should not be doing anything for the move.

Have posted some pics, and please feel free to say I'm bigger than penelope, I know it and don't mind...

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 24/12/2010 12:06

Happy xmas eve all.
Dh is working so not much feet putting up for me.Just going top take dd to see santa at the garden centre and house and shopping all done.I am usually a clean demon at xmas but cant do it this year and find myself thinking why do i bother cos it ends up acomplete tip tomorrow, and i have 9 here for the day.Ds 3 is a chef tho so should be ok for the lunch.
I had amassive bh in bed last night,i had to breath it out like a contraction, was most concerned!!
angels good point,i cant even sing alongto the festive songs without gasping for airhaha.
A few yrs ago an irish band asked me to sing the Kirsty Mc bits in fairy tail of newyork,i did loads of gigs over xmas and it was great fun,i feel irrational when i hear it as it reminds me of my past life even tho i was in my late 30's with 4 kids-whats that all about?HAHA

PolkaDotRudolf · 24/12/2010 12:40

knitta you look fab! I think your bump looks quite like mine actually but maybe bcoz we are both wearing black? People always say I am very "round" Hmm Not sure what that means!

I have just put a 2kg ham in the oven Grin There are 4 of us so I may be over-catering somewhat Blush Going to have it tonight and then perhaps offer it along with turkey tomorrow... and the next day... and the day after that!

ledkr how great that DS3 is a chef! I might persuade DS1 to train as a chef as would be very useful in this house!
