PPP I am also banking on being late (maybe we are twins?!) as DS was induced at 42 weeks. I wonder if it has any correlation that we were overdue the 1st time around at all? If anyone knows do tell! I have actually been telling people I am having the baby in March so I don't "get my hopes up" so to speak. If he comes earlier it's a bonus! On the -ve side - try telling people you're not due till March and see the Shock Shock Shock on their faces with such a huge bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tadventjennyp · 22/12/2010 23:23

Dh's work keep talking about sending him to various places like India and England during Jan - fortunately he's being proactive for a change and reminding them I'm due the 9th Feb. As there would be noone around to help me except look after the other dcs, I would be a bit nervous without him!

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 23/12/2010 07:31

Morning ladies, PDR inspired me to put up my own picture, if anyone wants to gawp look nicely. We're driving up to my parents today which is very exciting as we always have a busy Christmas with all the family round.

I'm especially happy right now because for the last two days I got very little movement and was really starting to worry that something was wrong, and then yesterday lunchtime I suddenly got loads so all was well Xmas Smile

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 23/12/2010 08:37

dont fret about the measurments ladies i am measuring 38 and not quite 34wks yet and the consultant just wasnt bothered, just said big baby which im unconcerned about as im having a section.
Have a great xmas zero and take it easy.

suzym1984 · 23/12/2010 08:50

Hi ladies!

Sorry Ive not posted in a while, I seem to have LESS freee time now that Ive finished work!

Been for my flu jab this week, which was uneventful...even for a wuss like me!

I am 34 weeks and measuring 31 cms...is that small?

Hope everyone is all sorted for Christmas and is keeping nice and warm and cosy :)

knittamerrykid · 23/12/2010 10:42

Hello ladies,
lovely pics! I'll be brave and take a pic soon too.
Can't believe I have just 9 weeks left, much less for most of you!!! is everybody ready? I have nothing yet! if he's early I'll have nothing. I wasn't going to buy bottles, but then worried about something hapening to me and poor dh having nothing to feed baby with...

In many senses I can't wait to meet him, but at the same time I am going to miss my bump, and feel as (who was it?), as this is probably going to be our only baby, the preg. has gone too soon and I've barely started to get used to it!

Happy Birthday angels, sorry, so late.
Ledkr hope everything is still well with you and your girl(s).

Have a nice day!

snowangels1 · 23/12/2010 11:03

knitta my friend was trying to bf but had problems and told me she got to the end of her tether at 3am one morning and sent DH out to buy bottles/formula straight away as they had a screaming hungry baby that she couldn't feed - they live in the middle of nowhere and think it took her DH ages to find a 24hr supermarket. I'm hoping to buy just a couple of bottles and a small amount of formula 'just incase' which would tide me over until I can buy proper stocks Xmas Grin

Love the bump piccies but I'm too shy to take one of mine. I accidently caught a glimpse of my naked self in the shower the other day and had a bit Shock at how massive I look.

Thanks for the advice re: size being large and what ceph means. I have a feeling this baby will be big (with DHs family having a consistent history of big babies), which is Confused Shock for me - ledkr at least if your baby is a big 'un you won't have to push her out!

They keep saying on the news about how terrible the flu outbreak is and how NHS direct can't cope with demand which keeps making me panic about not having had the flu jab yet (none left here until after christmas apparently). It's getting to the point where I'm not going out to get things (like I've run out of gluten free bread and need to get some bits for DH at homebase for our move) as I'm worried I'll catch something - I think I might be being a bit OTT but it's really concerning me Blush.

ledkr no matter how many pigs in blankets you cook on christmas day I bet they'll never be enough if they are like roast potatoes in our household Xmas Grin.

Am hoping to settle myself down to watching my DVD of 'the snowman' later - angels1s' christmas tradition. It will be nice to have a little person to use it as a good excuse watch it with in the next few years :)

wigglesrock · 23/12/2010 11:48

Well I'm done, all Christmas presents, shopping, extra bits and pieces in, even been to M&S!!!! It's supposed to be thawing a bit here I don't want to tempt fate but the skies look full of snow as my Granny would say!!

Polka with dd1 I went into labour the day before my induction date (helpful hint - loud action film in the cinema) and I was induced with dd2 although by the time I had dd2 the maternity unit had knocked a few days off the time they were happy with you to wait before being induced. So they were both born about a week late.

Re Size - with dd1 they told me she was quite big, only turned out to be 6lb10 and with dd2 they told me she was small, turned out to be 8lb8.

Deliaskis · 23/12/2010 11:57

Have just had my flu jab ladies, managed to get an 'urgent' appointment with the practice nurse this morning. Now just hoping it's not going to make me feel cr@p over Christmas, but there doesn't seem to be any reason why it would, and if it does, then it does.

Finally off work, feels great to be sat on sofa, blanket over me (even though it's not cold!), ham roasting in oven, presents wrapped and just mning on laptop.

Hope people are starting to be able to enjoy the festive season and that you all stay happy and healthy.

Dx

jackfrost · 23/12/2010 12:16

Hi all, I have put up a 32 week bump pic also if anyone wants a look!

Had awful few days, was in sooooo much pain early hours this morning that went to hospital, they have given me antibiotics for urine infection which may have gone to kidneys, it really hurts!!!

Also getting BH on top so i'm feeling very sorry for myself at moment!

Got some bloody discharge today, dont know if it anything to worry about or if it is infection related, anyone know about utis?

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 12:17

Afternoon!

We have all been very lazy and spent the morning in bed watching Mickey Mouse's Once Upon a Christmas Hmm Hope DS doesn't think this is going to happen every morning!

Managed to get my DMum to collect food from M&S yesterday as didn't think I could queue for long. She wants to go shopping in town this evening (late night here tonight open till 9pm) but I'm undecided....

Yay zero posted a picture as well :) Hope you have a good journey today! Will have to post another pic in a few weeks time - I am not sure my belly will stretch another 8cm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deliaskis · 23/12/2010 12:24

jackfrost, I don't know much about UTIs, except that I to have in the past had some light bleeding when I had one, so it could be related.

I've had a few BH, only the odd few, at night, woke me up, and just felt...strange really. I ended up accidentally waking DH up as I was making odd moaning noises just because I was waking up and wasn't sure what the odd feeling was, but he got the fright of his life and though it was the real thing!

Forgot to mention, when I went for my flu jab, I met a lady there who is also almost 32 weeks, and will be a my AN class next week, so I already have a fellow mum-to-be acquaintance!

You're all very brave posting pics, you have great looking bumps!

D

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 12:43

jack you poor thing - I have had a lot of UTIs and one which went to my kidneys and I was in agony. Glad you have anti-biotics before Christmas you wouldn't want it going untreated. I'm pretty sure one of the symptoms of a kidney infection is blood in urine - was it a lot? If it keeps coming I would phone the midwife and see what she thinks. Maybe wear a pad or liner to keep an eye on it.

Have you made a public profile as cannot see your bump pic? Might just be me though!

americanexpat · 23/12/2010 12:55

I saw the midwife today and am measuring 32cm at nearly 34 weeks - but I was measuring 30cm two weeks ago so I think he's just going to be a small baby (as I was). I asked the MW about the flu jab as I hadn't been offered it and was able to get one today from the practice nurses. Another excuse for me to lie on the sofa while DH does the housework. Xmas Grin

I do have weekly pics of my bump but I'm feeling a bit too shy to post one. Maybe I'll work up the courage soon.

debka · 23/12/2010 13:17

Feeling smug and relieved here as I had my flu jab today, although it did dawn on me that if my family gets it I will have to nurse them all through it...

Horribly windy and snow showers today (in SE), and have to go and get turkey this afternoon. At least I've done all the other shopping.

Loving the bump photos- I'm too shy not techie enough to do mine...

NeedToSleepZZZ · 23/12/2010 13:35

Hello everyone Smile

ledkr great that your son will be home, it doesn't matter how much food you make, in my experience it just disappears somehow Wink

jack i know it must have crossed your mind but could the bloody discharge be a show?

snowangels1 · 23/12/2010 14:07

needto the first time I had a flu jab I had exactly the same thing - within about half an hour my arm was aching so much I struggled to change gear whilst driving home - I thought I was having some kind of allergic reaction to it Confused. It lasted a few days and was quite painful - I couldn't lift or move my arm much (I remember going to an aerobics class the next day and having to do all the moves with one arm Wink ). It did wear off but I was very Hmm about having it done again so the next year to asked the Doc if this was just how my body reacted to the jab and was told that ocasionally it goes in a bit wrong (or hits something it shouldn't or sth) and can cause quite a bit of pain. I had the jab the next year and didn't have the same problem, so put it down to one of those things. Maybe you're unlucky this time?? Obv I'm not a medic though so for all I know there could be a very important reason for you to see your GP about this (wouldn't want you to not check because of what I said here).

NeedToSleepZZZ · 23/12/2010 15:29

Thank you angels, I've had the jab a few times before and was expecting the achey feeling, it's the hot itchiness and swelling that worried me. I called the nurse just now and she said to see how it is in the morning, if it's any worse then I'm to call back. I don't think it's anything other than my silly sensitive skin (eczema has flared up again) and the central heating but was a bit paranoid Blush

Hope you're okay Smile

jackfrost · 23/12/2010 15:30

Ok, pic should be visable now!

Needto- dont think it is a show but did also cross my mind.

PDR - trace amounts of blood in urine meant sample had to go to lab on friday, i dropped it in and called for results tuesday to be told docs had no record of it so could i do another and then wait a few more days so it has been going on few weeks now, just got really bad in last few days! But at least it is now being delt with!Smile

I also had flu jab, all seems ok so far fingers crossed!

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 15:34

Hello ladies and bumps

Sorry I havent been on very much lately, dont know where the time has gone. I have been thinking of you all though, glad everyone seems to be ok in the main (except for you JackFrost - hope the ABs kick in soon and make you well enough for a visit from Santa. I know how painful uti's are but not about the bleeding, sorry, might be worth calling your MW)

I am booked in for my flu jab on Jan 4th as my DS2, as he has 'asthma' - wasnt offered to either of us and the surgery dont have any explanation as to why, despite DS2 having his GP check up only last week and her not even mentioing it. I bet the surgeries are cursing the press this week!

Have been terrible mother today and let the kids stay in their PJs and watch telly al day while I get the house ready for Santa ;-) Our pipes froze earlier in the week so couldnt do any washing and am determined not to have any over the next few days! Oh what an exciting life I lead. Christmas used to be about parties and new clothes but now its all about cleaning, washing and hoping the DCs are too young to question why mummy and daddy have used the same wrapping paper as Santa, who is miles away....? Hmmm.

We are out for dinner tomorrow night though which is very exciting, My friend has lent me a gorgeous black mat dress but its quite short. How short is too short? It deffo covers my bum (and its entourage) but its well above the knee. I want to bt yummy mummy, not slaggy mummy - DH would never admit it looks tarty so need some rules of thumb please?!?!

Oooh polkadot we watched Mickey too! And Chicken Little is on for the third time....Xmas Hmm

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 15:36

Oooh how do I look at your pics - dont even know where to start with getting one uploaded...

40Weeks · 23/12/2010 15:38

OK worked it out - great pics - Polkadot you're very neat!

PolkaDotRudolf · 23/12/2010 15:51

I clearly photograph well Grin and am a size 20 normally so I guess more space to hide a baby in there?!!!!

40 I am now being subjected to reapeats of Special Agent Oso Hmm I mean they're not even fesive!!!!!!!!! Oh and about the dress - if it covers your bum then that's fine - or if you're feeling self-concious have you got any (dark) tights that will fit over the bump? When we were in Aus my staple outfit was tunic tops which only just covered my bum and leggings which is kind of the same... Enjoy and sure you'll look fab :)

Am currently on a mission to get DS to eat with us which means I have to start dinner ridiculously early so am off to cook a roast at 1549 Hmm!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 23/12/2010 17:43

Hi allPDR I have had loads of utis in the past and they are horrible.Blood in urine usually indicates its fairly bad.Poor you,The ant bs should work fast tho.
40 wks that sounds funky,i still wear short skirts and dresses with tights although my legs are abit chunky now but i wear long boots too.Its our 2nd wedding anniversary tomorrow. My son and his gf are staying so we might go out for a meal as we didnt do anything last yr.I am liking dh at the moment its dd who is annoying me now,she is excited and silly/cheeky.
Loving looking at the pics i am just enormous but it is a hard neat bump and i still use fake tan so quite brown. If i last untill after xmas my photographer friend Rob is going to take some tastefull bump pics and edit out al the stretchmarks and stray pubes haha. Will be nice to keep although i think ill be more Natilie Casidy than Demi Moore haha.
Went to town for last few bits.Had trouble walking round as kept getting braxton hicks low down,do they come on with exertion?
Dh calls them branston pickles.

tadventjennyp · 23/12/2010 18:20

Sorry about the UTIs and the sore flu injections. Dh had to have 3 jabs yesterday as part of his green card medical! Looked like a skinny pin cushion.

Glad it's not just me letting the dcs watch TV. Still tons of snow in the garden and we had such a busy day yesterday. They were both up in the night so feeling generally knackered! Also not techie enough to put up a bump picture but may get dh to take one as he is the last! Hope you all have a lovely evening.
