need to yes normal fridge magnets will be fine. Flat are better so they are comfy. And no hidden cameras I promise!

Tarlia · 09/12/2010 20:23

I'm 42.5 inches. Scary!!

Can't believe that we will soon have baby arrivals and announcements! It seems so long ago I got my BFP, but on the other hand time has flown.

Whoever said about a crawler next Christmas made me go gooey Xmas Smile

smallblackfestiveflowers · 09/12/2010 20:39

zero I've not yet left my DD for 24 hours and she is 21 months! I do have a romantic Xmas Hmm night away with DH booked for 8th Jan though! I went to a wedding reception when DD was 2 months old and carried her in a sling for the small amount of time that she wasn't being passed around and cuddled. It's not recommended to leave your newborn in a rear facing car seat for more than 30 mins - 1 hour as the bent position can increase the chance of SIDS - the lie flat car seats are fine for longer periods though.

I feel massive too - haven't got around to TPT yet this week so no idea if I've grown, and the scales are now out of bounds until post birth!

I too experienced a pelvic floor failure earlier this week - it was when I was throwing up with the bug that I caught from DD Xmas Blush. It was a full-on wet myself too Xmas Blush

PDR · 09/12/2010 20:42

Serious breakthrough here!

DH and I have just agreed that we are going to call the baby George. DS said George earlier but I think he was referring to Peppa Pig's brother Hmm! Middle name undecided..............

PDR · 09/12/2010 20:45

Re: Pelvic Floor - I have been wearing those Envie (sp?) liners for months now - but then I do have a prolapse from giving birth to DS so was in a worse position than most to start with! They are fab though and some in cute pink wrappers so you'd think they were normal liners.

JustOneMorePlease · 09/12/2010 22:03

PDR love the name George Smile

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 09/12/2010 22:15

I like the name George! DD has a very good friend called George Xmas Grin my friend's DS. He's lovely and was DD's first ever friend as we met them at baby group.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 09/12/2010 22:38

Oh, corrie just made me sob! Blush

sbf so sorry about your bug, sounds nasty and messy! You okay now? I wish you luck with your romantic break, OH and I actually had a night of 'passion' Hmm a couple of weeks ago and it was a complete failure and ended up laughing, esp at my ahem, wind problems. Don't let that put you off though!

PDR Love the name George, we would have considered it if it weren't the name of OH's nephew.

Off to cover the mattress with fridge magnets.... thanks justonemore!

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 09/12/2010 22:53

Needtosleep, sorry but I'm pmsl at the thought of you going to bed in a bed full of fridge magnets! Hope it's comfy!

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 10/12/2010 06:44

debkr Your description is what it feels like... whether you're making a fuss or not is entirely up to you - if the pain affects your ability to go about your daily life then I would say that you're entitled to make a fuss.

Six days left of work before the Christmas holidays! Xmas Grin

santaslittleheroine · 10/12/2010 07:22

Morning all, it feels like a proper countdown now - one week of work and then christmas, then a new baby!!
Elle I'm a bridemaid in July too, she asked me as I told her I was pregnant! She is kind of jealous tho, so she's already said no problem about babies at the wedding. The hen night tho is a different matter... I think i'll just see how it's all going, and I think she'd be fine if I cried off.
I don't have a tape measure to hand, but will have to be weighed later at my mw appointment so i might share the shame later!
Happy friday Xmas Grin

debka · 10/12/2010 09:40

Thanks zero, it isn't that bad really, don't want to compare to you poor women who can barely walk.

PDR · 10/12/2010 09:46

If anyone shops at Isabella Oliver they are offering 21% off everything Maternity this weekend - code is PARTY :) Love their trousers so just ordered another pair!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 10/12/2010 09:55

spf what age can they go in car seat a bit longer?I didnt realise the risk was of sid, thought it was just back related. We were going to take baby to see dh elderly gp at easter which will involve 3 hr journey,we can stop but how long do you need to wait before putting them back in?
Cant remember who asked but yes that does sound like mild spd.Mine is not too bad to be fair but i think thats cos i dont walk anywhere due to the breathlessness.
It is a great time to have a baby,i had dd at the same time it flies by although be warned it will grag just after xmas so plan some stuff to do.

Deliaskis · 10/12/2010 10:57

debka what you have is what I have, and it has got noticeably worse since last weekend. Spoke to the mw about it on Tuesday and she said SPD and has referred me for physio and said to get a support belt.

It's obviously not like the poor people who have been in agony/on crutches for months, but it's still unpleasant. I'm fine sitting and lying down (on my back only oooouuuuchh if I try and lie on my side!), but when I've been still for a bit, getting up again is pretty painful.

It's also worse when I've been walking around a bit, so I suffered after Christmas shopping in Manchester last Saturday. It has also made me do the heavily pregnant lady's waddle, even though I'm not that heavily pregnant. I had always assumed that the waddle was just do to weight and 'cumbersomeness', didn't realise it was because it was the most pain-free way to walk!

But I guess it's still only mild for me really compared to lots of ladies, so I am both PO'd at having it and also thanking my lucky stars it is not worse.

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 10/12/2010 11:49

Hello! Am hopelessly behind, so will just drop in the realisation that someone on this thread will probably give birth on 11/02/2011 which is quite cool...

Will try to read and catch up now!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 10/12/2010 12:17

can anyone still manage any marital relations?we were trying the other night and i just looked at my belly and thought,i just dont know how to do it,dh said he thought the same thing. There was a thread on here few weeks ago and they were suggesting the use of fruit and veg ConfusedI think to be honest id rather pass on that,i am not particulary into eating fruit at the mo never mind doing anything else with it Xmas Grini prefer a doughnut and no sex ta.

santaslittleheroine · 10/12/2010 12:47

ledkr try spoons, it works for us and he has to do all the work!! 'People' say to try doggy style too, but that doesn't really do it for me.
Also, have you got one of those exercise balls......? Xmas Wink

snowangels1 · 10/12/2010 13:08

Took me three whole reads of ledkrs comment on fruit and veg to work out what she was talking about . And then, when I read santaslittle mention of spoons it took a double think that she didn't mean actual spoons (gosh I'm sooooo slow!). I think any kind of intimate relations is difficult with such a massive belly, huffing and puffing, general achiness and wind issues (and that's just DH Xmas Grin Xmas Wink Xmas Grin I joke of course). I can't believe DH finds me even vaguely appetising at the minute atm.

How did those with mw apts today get on? Just got back from mine and bp was high Xmas Confused. Mw was starting to tell me I'd have to go straight to the big main hospital miles away to be monitored straight away but was met by a massive Xmas Shock face. She rung them up but as I don't have any other pre-ec symptomes they are happy to leave me for the weekend but I have to do my bp at home with a special monitor and ring the labour ward if it gets any higher. Feel a bit Xmas Confused Xmas Shock Xmas Hmm. ANyone else had high bp yet?

EauRudolph · 10/12/2010 13:19

Marital relations? No. I'm far too bloody uncomfortable, knackered and achy. Poor old DH though, he keeps telling me how great I look but to no avail.

Exercise ball? I think you'd have to draw me a diagram santas, that sounds far too athletic for me!

My last MW appt was fine, iron levels are all good which means I can have a home birth but it doesn't explain why I feel so dizzy and knackered at the moment. Not to mention cranky.

PDR · 10/12/2010 13:37

I had high bp last time angels so am waiting for it to increase... Not that they did anything tbh, just had to go every day to have it checked. Then eventually so high I was admitted to hosp but so busy they could not induce me for a week Shock when I was 42 wks so no choice really! Am hoping hospital won't be so busy this time!!!!

Re marital relations - we are still managing ok - last night resorted to spoons but I am quite sore this morning (sorry tmi!) so not sure we'll be doing that again! DH seems to have long arms and my bump is not very big as I am quite bit normally so as long as he's quick it's ok Wink try lots of foreplay!!!!!!!!!

PDR · 10/12/2010 13:37

*big not bit!

cler · 10/12/2010 13:52

Hope everyone is well? Im getting fed up of pregnancy now and finding im getting alot of pain down below, feels like im alll bruised. All being well i will be getting induced around 12th Jan which only gives me 4 weeks next wed so asoon as xmas and new year is over it will be countdown for our little baby Corey.

TallulahBelly14 · 10/12/2010 14:06

angels I've had high bp all the way through, but I've known about that for a while (got diagnosed with essential hypertension a few months before pregnancy).

I don't have the other pre-eclampsia symptoms either, so no cause for concern there. But I'm told that if you notice any swelling at all, you should go in straight away.

For my high bp, I've been taking pills (Methyldopa) 3x a day since about 14 weeks - they work pretty instantly and are safe in pregnancy. I do have a monitor at home, but I'm not convinced it works as my readings are always very different to what the doctor says.

TallulahBelly14 · 10/12/2010 14:13

No idea what fruit and veg means either, I'm obviously far too innocent!! Blush
