Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

jasmine have they got a menu online????

i meant to mention that i also haven't actually gained much weight was only 1lb by my weight the other morning. (haven't weighed this morning) which considering all i've really eaten is crap for the last several weeks is a shock. (to be honest was another reason i was a bit worried, which is ironic considering how depressed i was about my weight all those weeks ago.) Confused certainly doesn't seem to take much to make me worry at the moment.

smething to make you laugh though, i was watching cars with ds this morning and almost cried at the end when he pushed the king over the line. Blush

jasmine51 · 25/11/2010 15:40

cep
Yes hence the ability to forward plan!

Can I hate you for not putting on weight? I really wouldnt worry about it as long as you are eating and drinking enough. I'm sure the MW tutted at my last scan when she weighed me, muchos kilograms gained!

re Cars, yeah well, its a moving moment! I would be more worried if you cried over a childrens traditional carousel in the local town steam fair this morning! I think I'm weird...but the music just got to me ha ha

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 16:05

cep I'm in the same boat as you.

Had a couple of weeks of thinking 'whoop whoop I'm pregnant and if I want a piece of chocolate cake who the bleedin' 'ell is going to stop me?' and eating lots of cake/chocolate/crisps and other junk I usually cut out except for the odd treat.

Have also replaced tea with hot chocolate and chocolate milk drinks full of sugar.

Now I'm sick I eat like a pig - biscuits, toast, peanut butter, grazing all day long.

And I weigh exactly the same as I did before I got preggo.

All this makes me wonder why I was ever sensible. Either the baby is actually a big worm eating all my food or I shouldn't have stopped myself from eating all those sweets for all those years Grin

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 16:07

neenewps the race is on Grin

I've got to work until the 17th, if possible, so I'm backing myself to win the race and go into labour in the middle of a lecture at the beginning of June ...

I'll give you 2/1 odds Grin

neenewps · 25/11/2010 16:11

:) @ jasmine you have beaten me on the 'I'm ready to give birth' clothing attire stakes!!

ttl I'm not working at the moment so I'm thinking you will be in labour before me as my LO will probably be too lazy to get going!!! :o

Can we eat peanut butter? I love peanut butter but have stopped my DH from buying it so I wasn't tempted to have it!!!

8rubberduckies · 25/11/2010 16:20

Jasmine anchovies are fine; all fish is fine apart from raw seafood (even smoked salmon is fine).

Lisascat fairplay to you for thinking of going to Glastonbury! I was thinking of going next year, but decided not to try and get tickets cos we've been ttc since last Christmas, so was kind of hoping it wouldn't be convenient by the time it came around! Some people are absolutely fine in late pregnancy physically, but I couldn't have faced camping and not being within flopping distance of a sofa / bed by 8 months gone last time! On the plus-side though for our babies, having a birthday around Glastonbury is fun; mine is July 1st and I've had some memorable birthday celebrations there, what with hailing from just up the road!

I have had a duvet day today; full of lousy cold, so packed ds off to the childminders this morning, phoned in sick and spent the whole day reading in bed.... bliss.... it's sooooo cold out there, am dreading having to go and pick wee man up in an hour.

I haven't got a clue how much weight I've put on, haven't got any scales, but I swear I could feel a hard band under all the flab just above my pelvic bone last night, a bit early methinks at 9+5, so am panicking about twins again!

Welcome by the way Frida Smile

cep · 25/11/2010 16:21

jasmine you're more than welcome to hate me if i can hate the slimmies with bumps. :o what's the restaurant called? we can all look and give you ideas. :o lol at the carousel i actually almost started crying when i told my boss this morning i couldn't come in again cause ds was still in pain. Blush

oooh TTL i keep craving hot chocolate and then forgetting to buy it on the shopping. :o probably a good thing though. I have to be really careful i can't keep on like this i gained about 4 stone with ds really don't want to go there again as i still hadn't lost all the weight before getting pg again. (and after 2.5 years Blush) lol at the shouldn't have stopped eating the sweets.

neenewps the ruling is on peanuts that you can eat them but need to be careful (or avoid) if you have specific illnesses in family such as asthma or excema. having said that dh has asthma and ds occasionally gets excema. I still eat peanuts occasionally and ds loves nuts i have to hide them.

cep · 25/11/2010 16:23

8rd i thought we were supposed to avoid smoked salmon. (not that it bothers me can't stand the stuff.)

8rubberduckies · 25/11/2010 16:24

neenewps the jury is out on peanuts. Some say eating them in pregnancy could cause your baby to develop a peanut allergy, some schools of thought say this is unproven. I am going with the unproven school of thought, as my partner has nut allergies, and his brothers don't, and my mil swears she scoffed peanut butter / other nuts throughout all 3 pregnancies.

cep · 25/11/2010 16:28

when i was pg with ds we were told to avoid them. this time when i saw mw she told me that it's made no difference in the amount of nut allergies being diagnosed so basically as stated before unless you have medical reasons to be careful you don't need to be. 8rd i think with your dh having allergies i'd be careful too.

8rubberduckies · 25/11/2010 16:28

I sound like I'm being very laissez faire about all the food stuff I realise, but a lot of what we are told is unproven / conflicting evidence, so I'm going with my instincts.

cep · 25/11/2010 16:35

8rd did i get that wrong? were you saying you were or weren't eating nuts. am so tired eyes and brain not connecting.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 25/11/2010 16:55

8RubberDs you've just made my day with the smoked salmon is fine comment. As soon as I can face real food again I am sooo making a smoked salmon pizza and sushi

Cep I'm like you, put on to much weight with DS and still haven't lost it all (ruddy choc cravings!). Am determined to craved healthy things this time around (hahahaha)

I had my last pilates class last week and tonight is my first night with out it. I am soo happy I get to stay inside all night - (lazy) Bliss.

Well the no hurling lasted just over 48 hours. Still it was nice while it lasted and I do feel as if I'm starting to feel better than I have been. Hoping to be well enough to go to a pyjama party on Sat night (rollers or pig tails?)Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 25/11/2010 16:56

PS yes I'm aware my spelling is rubbish. I don't care cause it's pregnancy mush related Grin

LisasCat · 25/11/2010 17:07

Definitely not risking giving birth at Glasto if a possible consequence is that I might end up appearing in the Daily Hate Mail.

On the other hand, the self-righteous indignation of all the commentators (who were probably wishing she had a foreign-sounding name so they could blame it all on immigrants)... ooooh, it might be worth it just to get their backs up!

8rubberduckies · 25/11/2010 17:09

cep I am eating nuts, yes. I don't eat a lot, as we don't have them in the house because of dp's allergy, but have the occasional nut or peanut butter sandwich when he's not about Grin.

The jury is still out on cold smoked salmon, so that's down to individula choice, but hot on a pizza is fine according to everyone - any food that may harbour listeriosis is safe if cooked through and served hot. I am avoiding mould-ripened, blue or rinded cheeses, liver and stuff with raw egg in. Apparently sushi is fine if the fish has been frozen for 24 hours before as well! Hurray! Wish I'd looked into all this more when pg first time as missed out on loads of yummy stuff!

My vote is for rollers chocbiscuits, embrace your inner fishwife yummy mummy! Wink

moomin156 · 25/11/2010 17:20

Hey all, you lot have been busy today. Didnt get much on the xmas shopping front but me and mom did do the ' lets just have a look in here......ie mamas and papas and john lewis baby section and prams' lol
Also mom has bought me a lovely tunic for xmas from 'white stuff' that isnt a maternity top but due to style will last for ages.

My midwife says you can have english brie and camambert as its pasteurised so next time im food shopping its Somerset Brie for me

8rubberduckies · 25/11/2010 17:21

Grin Lisascat I couldn't agree more!

An interesting thread on food in pregnancy here. This thread is where I pilfered the link to the Zoe Williams article from.

cep · 25/11/2010 17:48

8rd i did get it wrong then. sorry Blush i never got the whole peanut thing, i always thought it would have been better to introduce right from the beginning, than to suddenly introduce at 5 years.

nomore i think bunches would be nice, quicker too.

8rubberduckies · 25/11/2010 18:05

cep I don't think there's any wrong or right with the peanut thing, just a lot of different opinions and conflicting studies! I think we all need to do whatever we feel comfortable doing at the end of the day when it comes to making pregnancy and parenting choices Smile.

neenewps · 25/11/2010 18:06

Maybe I will just have the occasional peanut butter sandwich then :)

AND moomin thank you SO much.. I bloody love cheese and I really miss it. Some friends bought us a shed load a few weeks ago but it was all unpasturized so I just had to watch my husband eat it. It was from a really lovely cheese shop here in Edinburgh too called IJ Mellis and I felt really sad that I had missed out!! I'm going to see if they have Somerset Brie and Camembert now.. I love the goeey stuff :o Baked Camembert is a particular favourite!

Supposed to be going to see Harry Potter tonight.. Bring on the popcorn (we are allowed aren't we :))

petitech · 25/11/2010 18:24

I've been scoffing peanut butter on toast... good protein! I think I have now managed to upload those photos now, doh, I got part way through before but didn't hit 'store' :s

moomin156 · 25/11/2010 18:31

Its worked this time petitech......lovely to see your bean.

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 18:33

My midwife told me last week that they've scrapped the guidance not to eat peanuts.

Peanut butter is one of the few things I am managing to eat at the moment, plus it's full of protein. Had it on apple yesterday after reading about it on a tips-for-getting-through-ms website and it was surprisingly nice.

Been eating smoked salmon (well, I was when I liked food).

Now I hate food. Just told DH I can't see myself cooking any dinner until Christmas. He's never liked food much anyway, so he's glad to have me finally on board Grin

NurseSunshine · 25/11/2010 18:48

Here I am! Thanks for thinking of me :)

Sorry I'm not going to be able to reply to everybody.

8rd newest lit out is that you can eat peanuts till the cows come home unless near relatives have alergies to them in which case they advise you not to. I'm like you though and tend to go with common sense rather than blindly follow these flippin' rules they try to impose.

Congrats to everyone who's had a scan

Sasamaxx my belleh looks like yours and I'm 10+4. Though am possibly just a fattie and need to stop eating so much :(

Can't remember who posted scan pics, petitech? I've put mine up too Grin Wish I could show you a video. It was soooo cute when it did the little jumpy wriggle thing and waved it's little hand!
