Nothing to say really, just here it is!

Still thinking of you all!

Reading your posts about getting out of maternity clothes - don't get too excited!! I had forgotten how big your boobs get when milk first comes in - I literally feel like Jordan with a very bad boob job where they used rocks instead of silicone - none of my maternity tops are big enough!!!!
Having said that, I got my jeans on this morning - not quite done up, but no worse than when I was wearing them at 18 wks pg.
Nell was fantastic last night - did 4 hours then 3 hours between feeds and went straight down each time in her cot! So unlike the boys when they were this age. I'm sure it won't last, but nice to have a night with more sleep than when I was pg!

RZ - we'll be there soon...she says trying to make herself feel better at the same time!

JM - be a bit ironic all three of us on the same day, but hey we can but hope. Know what you mean about starting with big boobs, i've only got up 2sizes was expecting to go alot more. 34F to a 36FF isn't really all that bad i suppose.

singleteenagemum · 26/09/2005 12:40

Good luck with sweeps tomorrow JM and rhumba...what time are they? mines 14:20

RedZuleika · 26/09/2005 12:50

But there are four of us (kiwifruit, STM, katts and myself) who are having our first, aren't we? So you might have expected they'd be a little slow in their arrival... not saying it isn't irritating though.

STM: you're taking the same size bra as me (36F / 36FF). I was rather irritated to note that some of the more attractive nursing bras were not available in an F / FF cup. I ordered a whole load from Figleaves in the end and am sending back the designs I don't like (zip cups?? whose stupid idea was that??? And don't get me started on the design where the clip on the drop cup was like passing a camel through the eye of a needle...). Think I've settled on the Anita (with and without underwiring).

jessysmummy · 26/09/2005 12:52

Thanks mymama for gen on chickenpox. DD last saw her cousin 2 weeks ago this Wed so if she doesn't have any spots by then I suppose we'll be all clear?
STM - MW says she's coming round at 9.30am so, obviously I'll have my little package delivered by teatime...positive thinking!!!
Your DNM sounds like he's making up for all of those months you had with no one to spoil you. Tell him he's making all the other DH/DPs look bad!
RZ - I've just sent an email off to about 20 friends/colleagues to let them know the state of play and hopefully head off those irritating comments.

singleteenagemum · 26/09/2005 12:53

I've gone for most readily available...not as if anyone's going to see my bra anyway, so have gone for some M&S ones, they're cotton and were comfy when i tried them on lol. I only got 2 and know i'll need more but thought they'd do me until i know exactly what soze i'll be, maybe then i'll look at some other types.

singleteenagemum · 26/09/2005 12:54

JM - tried that with a multi text and all but one text back saying "o i got all excited then, dont forget to let us know when he comes" grrrrrr...i might just not tell purposefully now!

He is lovely.... the chocolates were nicer though lol

jessysmummy · 26/09/2005 13:02

Can't win, can you STM? - either we're getting everyone excited everytime we phone/text/email or we're keeping everyone on tenterhooks, thinking "has she/hasn't she" if we don't get in touch. at DNM and chocolates...Won't he be getting a glimpse of your lovely new nursing bras?
Last time...seem to be saying that a lot!...I didn't get any nice nursing bras as I thought I wouldn't need them for long. Didn't realise how successful my breat feeding would be and 6 months later I was still wearing the naff cotton plain bras. Going to spoil myself this time but wait until boob size settles down. I've got my "Old faithfuls" until then. Don't think DH is too bothered, after all he's going to see a lot worse than that before baby finally arrives!

RedZuleika · 26/09/2005 13:04

M&S sell size 36F???? I gave up on them years ago - which is why I order online.

JM: I appreciate that this isn't the best time for your daughter to get chickenpox - but in general I'd encourage it while she's still young. I had it when I was 28 - and really... it's hideous. And much worse (I'm told) than getting it as a kid. Plus - a number of people who've had it as adults have gone on to suffer chronic fatigue problems for some months afterwards. I was lucky: I was signed off work for two weeks (by which time the pustules had dried up and largely fallen off) and wiped out for a month / six weeks. It also gave me crippling headaches along the facial trigeminal nerve, down into my teeth. Next time there's chickenpox about, send them round to play with the infected child until they show symptoms!

RedZuleika · 26/09/2005 13:05

I was wondering about the new man and the nursing bras, but I didn't like to ask...

jessysmummy · 26/09/2005 13:07

OK - am going to go for a little lie down now. Only the second afternoon nap I've managed in the 4 weeks I've been off work. So, if you see anyone I know - hey, even if I don't know them, please tell them that all has gone quiet but I HAVE NOT GONE IN TO LABOUR!
Hoping that when I get back in a couple of hours someone will have good news for me. Hey, I might have some news for you - having given birth in my sleep - I wish. x

singleteenagemum · 26/09/2005 13:08

if he's really lucky...

I had chicken pox really young and caught it from my sister, mum said it was easier with us having it at the same time. my cousin is 20 and just got it after being in hospital, she's suffering really badly, apparently adult immune systems are harder to break into so it takes longer to pass and like RZ said longer to get over.

they go up to a 44GG...well thats the biggest i've seen...dont need it quite yet though!!

jessysmummy · 26/09/2005 13:10

OK I lied - just seen message from RZ. Thanks. Yes, ordinarily I would have sent DD right round to myDS's house. Apparently my nephew isn't too bothered by the chickenpox at all and I'd rather DD got it now. But ATM I would prefer her not to have to be kept away from new baby when it arrives.
Night night all (for now) x

Daisydot · 26/09/2005 13:38

Dear Girls,

Just to let you know that little Grace Olivia came into the world at 5.10pm by c-section. It was discovered at my consultant's appointment the day before that Grace was breech. Amazing! I am under a consultant for my scans and another for my antenatal care and neither picked it up. A midwife did the day before Grace was born.
I was totally shellshocked by the news as I so wanted a natural drug free birth.
Grace is absolutely beautiful and my stitches are healing well. Have just read to my dismay that both the pain killers the doctor has put me on should not be used if you are breast feeding, despite the fact that I double checked this before leaving hosptial. I am about to call them and complain. No wonder Grace screams when I put her to the breast for feeding................ Have been given Volterol and co-codomil (codene and paracetamol). Has anyone used either while breastfeeding?
Haven't managed to catch up with the latest, but congrats to all those who have given birth and good luck to those who have not.

bubbles2904 · 26/09/2005 13:51

congratulations daisydot and welcome to grace. i don't know why, but i was under the impression that i read last week you'd had a boy???? must be tired and imagining it LOL

Laura032004 · 26/09/2005 14:03

Hi Daisydot - just noticed your post in the active conversations. I was prescribed both of those drugs post c/s and was bf. Nobody ever mentioned that they weren't to be used if bf, and I think virtually everyone in the ward was taking the same thing. I took them for about two weeks before the pain was really gone, and ds has no apparent after effects. Hope you get it all sorted.

singleteenagemum · 26/09/2005 14:08

Congratulations daisydot

beatie · 26/09/2005 14:24

Congratulations Daisydot - I love the name.

I was given voltarol after my first dd was born, just for general perenium swelling. I was taking codeine/paracetamol a few weeks ago whilst I was pregnant with dd2.

Kiwifruit · 26/09/2005 15:05

CONGRATULATIONS Daisydot and family - love the name!!!

Thanks for you lovely message Cabe - I really shouldn't be getting impatient just yet, due date was only yesterday!!

Just got back from the day assessment unit (should really just move in there !) and my BP is back down to nearly normal - yay! Trace of protein in my urine, but apparently not enough to worry about. The lovely MW gave me a stretch and sweep, and apparently I am 1cm dilated, and baby's head is well down, although cervix is still long and a bit thick. She said it can take up to 72 hours for the sweep to have any effect... So have booked another acupuncture session for tomorrow to see if that gets things moving...

Hope everyone is well - guess we should really be making the most of the time we've got to ourselves at the moment, as we're not going to have it for much longer!!

jessysmummy · 26/09/2005 15:11

CONGRATULATIONS Daisydot! Was beginning to get a bit worried about you. Did grace arrive on 21st? Sounds like you had a long wait from 8.30 until 5pm. Well worth it I suspect - I bet she's beautiful, like her big sister!

kelli22 · 26/09/2005 15:24

Hi girls, im new to this board but been hanging around on MN for ages, Congratulations to all new mums & babies!!!!!!!!!!!

im 4 days over my dd and im booked in for a sweep tomorrow at 2.30pm (looks like there could be four of us giving birth tomorrow then)

Kiwifruit · 26/09/2005 16:01

Hi Kelli22 - great you have joined us, as our numbers are dwindling!

mummyhill · 26/09/2005 19:06

Hi all.

Welcome Kelli22.

COngratulations Daisydot and welcome to Grace Olivia.

Feeling exhausted. Had a bad night with David then DD Woke up at midnight barking and wheezing, couldn't get her inhalers into her and subsequently got DH out of Bed to race her to A&E whilst I stayed here pacing the floor with david trying not to cry. Turned out to be croup and dr was a bit snotty about waisting time. Not that I care cause at the end of the day I would rather make a wasted trip to A&E than ignore an asthmatic child who is having difficuties breathing.
