Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry the sweeps did not turn out as hoped!

singleteenagemum · 27/09/2005 21:36

KF - i've been tired all day to...cant sleep between 4 and 7 in the morning but thought i make up for it by not getting up till 9:30...maybe...today was a busy day though am going to bed now..feeling very crampy and achey to, i'm just glad i've got a date to look to now, that;s the one thing i hatewd about prrganacy, not knowing when they're coming. i know i still dont know, but at least i know it's this time next week at the very latest

kelli22 · 27/09/2005 21:36

Kiwi i know thats what i thought, apparently there isnt time to do them at the surgery - unfair but then i dont think she was expecting me to ask for one, it took her a few minutes to understand that im almost a week over! she wanted to wait til thursday but i insisted i wanted one sooner rather than later, i was so disapointed anyway im off to bed just incase tonight is the night. Good luck to the rest of you girls x nite nite

singleteenagemum · 27/09/2005 23:41

I cant sleep. No particular reason but am absolutely shattered. hope youre all sleeping, building up your energy for birth..which will be soon!

KiwiKate · 28/09/2005 02:12

Sorry to hear that you are all still hanging in there, and that sweeps did not go as planned. I can highly recommend Caulyphilum 200c (don't get the 30c as it is too weak) - it is a homeopathic remedy - and it will help if you show early signs of labour - It helps to get things going from that point. It does not get things started, but it makes sure that contractions become effective and keep going. I had a week and a half of stop-start contractions and this remedy did the trick (4 drops on the tongue every 15 minutes for 6 doses).

Good luck

kelli22 · 28/09/2005 02:24

anyone up?

beatie · 28/09/2005 07:59

I wonder if anyone popped last night It's so exciting waiting for these final deliveries. Is there anyone who doesn;t know what they are having?

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 09:00

Sept Mums-to-be roll call...I'm still here! Who else didn't pop in the night?
Looks like we've all had a sleepless night. Hope all were due to the onset of labour rather then my reasons. DD awoke at 1.30am (I was blissfully fast asleep) vomitting. This is very unlike her, she's never been a sicky baby, even when she was tiny. And so it continued every half hour to hour until 5.30. She woke bright as a button at 7am, though has brought back some water this morning. Am trying her on some toast and then hopefully she'll be tired enough to sleep. I won't be wondering whether I should go back to bed today!
Kelli - best of luck with the sweep.

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 09:01

Oh, Beatie - we don't know what we're having. Decided to leave it as a surprise like last time.

kelli22 · 28/09/2005 09:05

last nite was not the night i woke up at 1am with pains, my stomach went really hard and the whole of it was hurting i stayed up til 3am to see if i would get any that were as strong as the first and i couldnt sleep anyway in the end i did fall asleep and was up at 7 and have been cleaning the house ready for MW (is this nesting or cuz i want the house to be immaculate for when she comes..........)

took dd to school and for the first time in 3 yrs the other mums started talking to me - weird what pregnancy can do.......i thought i was quite an approachable person but obv not from the way theyve all ignored me for yrs, nice theyve started talking to me now though

Hope everyone is ok

kelli22 · 28/09/2005 09:06

meant to say JM, good job you didnt pop last night, hope you get to catch up on some sleep today at some point !

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 09:29

Oh Kelli, last night sounded pretty promising. May be today will be your day.
Re: mums at school - aren't some people fickle? It's not as if you haven't got anything in common with DD going to school with their DD/Ss.
Well if baby wanted to pick a day when I wasn't ready for him/her, today would be a pretty good choice. I'm shattered and have heaps of pukey washing to do - logically the perfect time to go into labour!
BTW, my post date appt is on Tuesday too. Doesn't it seem like a lifetime away?
Oh, and apparently if a mw or hv accepts the offer of a drink then they have judged your home sufficiently hygienic! Just to be on the safe side I never offer, for fear of being turned down!

Rhumba · 28/09/2005 09:33

I'm still here. Had some bleeding after the sweep and was convinced something could happen. All that did was I kept waking up with every ache and thinking "ooh what's this" Had a shocking night's sleep made worse by DS getting out of bed at 1.30 and wanting the toilet (not unreasonable I suppose but he did have a nappy on and has never done this before - lets hope it's not a going to be a habit) So JM has all my sympathies (my wake up call only last 5 minutes)

Kelli sorry your Midwife wouldn't do the sweep. Mine did although I know they prefer to do them at home. it's so frustrating the way maternity care varies all over the country.

Hang in there everyone else and thanks to all those who have popped and are still keeping in touch. I thought I might be the only one come October!

andif · 28/09/2005 09:37

Come on September babies !
We can't have you all joining the October postnatal thread!!! Get bouncing! Agree with whoever it was about caullophyllum 200 - I started taking one tab every 10 mins when early contractions started slowing down and it seemed to do the job!

RedZuleika · 28/09/2005 09:45

Morning morning. I slept really well last night, so I'm in a better humour today. I don't cope well with sleep deprivation - not sure that bodes well for the future...

We don't know what flavour peanut we're having either: it's not their policy to tell you here. Also - in both the 21 week scan and subsequent growth scan, it was playing coy and hiding its bits.

I've heard that about midwives accepting a drink meaning that they approve of your living standards. Mine always has a drink and partakes liberally of the home baking. She even plays with the dog. On the other hand, we are paying her - which I'm sure takes the edge off disgust at my hygiene standards .

I'm sure there's someone I didn't congratulate on their birth. Not sure who it was now, but whoever it was... congratulations!

Anyone know, by the way, how often you're supposed to take the Caulophyllum 200c if you have it in tablet form...?

Rhumba · 28/09/2005 09:59

So where do you get the Caulophyllum 200c? i looked in Boots for it and Holland and barrett but couldn't see it.

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 10:00

So, STM and Kiwifruit could have done the deed last night - hope so...we've only got 3 days left in Sept.
Don't worry Andif - I'm going to have to join the sept postnatal thread even if this baby arrives in Oct, which is looking pretty likely now. I'm sure the oct lot are lovely but I've spent the last nine-ish months getting to know and moaning to and congratulating the sept mums.
Don't think I could go through all that again so I'm afraid you're stuck with me (us?).
RZ - did you see andif's post about the caullophyllum tabs just below yours?
Rhumba - mw warned me there might be a little bit of bleeding after the sweep but I didn't even get that.

RedZuleika · 28/09/2005 10:11

JM: Absolutely not. Seems I can't read today. I'll get my coat...

I got mine from Neal's Yard, ordered online. Tablets, as I said though, not the liquid. The woman I asked in Holland and Barrett hadn't heard of it, which I thought a little bizarre...

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 10:52

Don't worry RZ, think we're all a little preoccuppied this am. Phoned my mum this morning to tell her about DD's sickness and it took me a while to figure out that she thought I was ringing to let her know that I'd started in labour. Had forgotten all about giving birth what with all the puke from last night!

singleteenagemum · 28/09/2005 11:13

Sorry to disappoint but am most definately still here. With on joining the Sept post natal thread JM. Not had any proper contractions since 19th Spetmember not had any braxtons either.

Fingers crossed for today kelli.

The washing machine has just packed up so guessing this week will be my week (by induction or not) repair man coming Friday so it's not all bad....

Did anyone get a good sweep?

kelli22 · 28/09/2005 11:50

im feeling rather excited, im booked in for induction on monday (she said wednesday to start with but my dd has a hospital appt that day so she said monday to make sure im up n about to take dd)

she said baby is in a good position and that she has swept all membranes away (ive had abit of a show) and a few tightenings but she said to expect that oh she also said that i should be in for a short labour as baby is ready, said she could feel my waters bulging (sry if im going into too much detail btw) said the cervix is soft and i've got a 50% chance of it working today (unlike what she said yesterday about 25% chance)

Baby is being very quiet today, MW said if she doesnt start moving about by 1pm then i should go for monitoring, i've had a cuppa tea and an ice lolly to try n get her to move but shes being lazy n ive only felt her a few times all day.

Anyway sry for babbling on im just hoping today will be the day!!!!!!!!! Hope everyone is ok

singleteenagemum · 28/09/2005 11:52

Sounds very promising kelli, hope it works and that she wakes up a bit. my bump has been quietening down last few days, they say it's coz they're storing up energy for delivery

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 12:13

Kelli - doesn't sound like you're going to have to wait for your appt on mon.
My bump has been very quiet during the day for the last couple of months but then does a mad dance in the evening. Obviously going to be a night owl...whoopee!

bubbles2904 · 28/09/2005 14:21

hi everyone, sorry all the sweeps didn't work but sounds v promising for you kelli.

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 14:25
