Hi DQ, early for you to be on here. Sorry you had bad dreams last night.

What have you got planned for today then?

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 09:19

george, I'll have a look for a travel system for you. I've got to look into mortgage deals today too - SNOOZE!!!

Bonkerz - great news about your car, you must be relieved!!

Ebbie - I did post about the tickets a few days ago. They are £10.95 in advance or £12.95 on the door and children under 10 are free. here is the website It has a list of all exhibitors and details of the day.

DQ - just think, it's nearly time for the babies to move down and engage ready for birth. Then you'll have more room for food. You choc brownies sound nice - I might have to try making them when I'm in domestic godess mode on mat leave

Had a very odd dream last night about having the baby, breatfeeding, expressing milk, and ski lifts in Milan or Rome or somewhere like that !?!?!?!?! Still, at least I slept which is better than for some of you poor ladies!!

scully · 27/09/2005 10:22

Probably shouldn't tell you night owls that my sleep is ok, even when our little stalker wanders in between 3-6am for a 'quick' cuddle. Good thing we have a large bed
Have a question for you - anyone had what feels like sore stomach muscles? It's hard to describe but it feels like I've pulled something, it's very sore to touch on the outside but also feels sore on the inside, when the baby moves or if I move the wrong way I get a sudden twinge of sharp pain. Didn't have this last pregnancy, and have no idea what is causing it, but doesn't feel very comfortable and I'm not sure if I should be worried about it. What do you think?

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 10:38

scully - I think I might have posted about this recently?!?!?!

I had a feeling like this the other day. I must have turned over in bed too quick or something but I got a pulling pain (Sort of like a stitch) in my side and it took hours for it to go. I think it's just where everything is stretching so much now. I don't think it's anything to worry about, you probably just slept or moved funnily.

If it persists and you are worried though you should phone your mw.

dramaqueen72 · 27/09/2005 10:49

scully also had this few days/week ago. its def stretchy stuff not ......er.stretching very well. it should pass, mine was horrendous for a few days then just as I thought I ought to go check with midwife, it went. its esp when uterus/baby is causing belly button or near there to stretch further.....its apparently not so flexible as the rest. HTH. just take it easy some.
s/h you are font of all knowledge this morning
george, not much planned, downloaded some audio books fro stocking fillers, tidied up abit, and may now go do some baking. have to top up lunch box selection, but will prob eat quite a few myself. banana and choc muffins first I think. dd2 is requesting a movie on so should get most of it done without her 'help'!

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 11:02

pram ideas for george:-

Graco Sterling) ink{http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/BruHome/BruTravel/BruTravelCollections/BruTravelCollectionsBlueMoon/708151Graco Quattro

you could get this with.....

this

But it doesn't have an in car base. Does that matter? I've brought a travel system similar to that - it doesn't have a base in the car.

you can get a base with this one seperatly

with a base

you can buy base seperatly

some to be going on with.....

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 11:04

PMSL - at font of all knowledge - now ask me where my keys are, or why I put my remote control in the fridge

lol - you can't really go wrong with the internet!!!

dramaqueen72 · 27/09/2005 11:05

mamas and papas do a stay in car base, with click on and go seat.........if you dont mind me making you even more confused george, and have toooooo many to choose from

scully · 27/09/2005 11:11

thx for those answers. Thought it must have been ligaments, as it happened after I had been grocery shopping and unloaded the car.....haven't managed to find groceries that unpack themselves though
dq it is all around my belly button, so that would make sense, but will mention it to my midwife on Friday if it hasn't improved. Felt different to the stitch like pain I'd had previously which is why it took me by surprise.
On a completely different note, I finally got around to weighing myself on Sat, first time all pregnancy - have put on 5kg so far so happy with that, considering I have been exactly what I feel like. Just have to not go overboard now in the next 12wks [grn]

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 11:13

Do mammas and pappas do a pram thats under £300? I thought all their stuff was realy ££££££

bonkerz · 27/09/2005 11:16

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 11:16

lol How to confuse me - put it in Kg's!!!

BUT just converted it and thats only 11Ib

I've put on about 30Ibs!!!!!

bonkerz · 27/09/2005 11:19

Well im still 23lbs lighter NOW than i was at 5 weeks pregnant!! (smug face) although im morbidly obese anyway!! Measured with TP again today and strangley still the same as i have been for the past few weeks give or take 1/8th ish!!! Am all bump out front though!

bonkerz · 27/09/2005 11:21

Im sure will put on loads tho after scoffing all that chocolate from my SS tonight!!

scully · 27/09/2005 11:29

kg's always sounds better
I used scales at the hospital on Saturday when I was picking up dh's prescription. We don't have any at home, and I found these ones at the hospital in a nice quiet corridor, as the idea of weighing myself in Boots or somewhere similar always put me off
I measured with tp on Sunday but can't remember what it was, maybe 8?

Harrizeb · 27/09/2005 11:51

DQ please please please can I have the banana and choc muffin receipe - have a pile of banana's I need to use and they sound scrummy, I have CAT switched on if you don't mind .

Thank you

Harri x

ei23mummy · 27/09/2005 12:03

morning all!!!how is everyone? im surprisingly wide awake considering it was another late one for me last night!
DQ you should have stuck around last night as a lady from the sept thread came on and wanted someone to talk to whilst she was in early labour how exciting!!
scully, im sure the pain is nowt to worry about. iv been getting similar pains whenever i do too much ie carrying shopping bags etc. its settled into a kinda achey feeling around my bump so im not too worried!
george, iv bought the graco mirage travel system and got it for the bargain price of £150.00 thats from the price set by graco themselves so you could prob get one for around that price! it includes a car seat with in car base and comes in loadsa different colours!! toyrus do the same one only bigger for £220.00 so still within budjet!
s/h dont forget that alot of the weight you have 'put-on' is due to the baby!! youve got at least 2 1/2- 3 lb of child then the same for placenta, 5lb or so of water in your womb, then added fatty tissue in your boobs- 3lb at least and also the lining of the womb is about 2lb and any excess water you are carrying- again up to 5lb and then you get added blood volume in pg so thats another 3-5lb so all in all youve only really gained around 5lb!!- your 3/4 weeks ahead of me aint you? iv got back up to the weight i was before i found out i was pg so iv gained 1st in weight but not really as im back to my original pre-pg size (apart from the big bump!!)
ill have to do tp in a mo!! i doubt iv changed but i do seem to have changed shape again![smile

just read the update from the lady in labour and it turns out it was a false alarm!! ah well it was v exciting whilst it lasted!

dramaqueen72 · 27/09/2005 12:36

blimey, I make some brownies and muffins and you lot fill a page!!!
talking of which can we start a new thread??

s/h I dont know if m&P do I just know our first baby carseat is by them (with wheels)and I mmust get it out the loft! I think they ahve ceom down in price recently. but not sure.
thing is george, there are a billion fabulous choices out there for you......you really need to find a great pram shop and wheel a few about. try peering at the brands you see out and about and like as they go by
bonkerz, wow, that sounds like a lovely gift!
harrizeb - will email you the recipe later, they smell very nice indeed
I've not weighed myself for ages, and no intention of doing so. theres not much i can really do if its bad news, am eating little an often, am eating fruit and veg etc, (AM eating homemeade brownies but we'll skip that bit....) and dieting is a no no when pg anyhow. They say anything over 2st put on during pg is going to be almost impossible to shift, so as long as its around or under that relax alittle ladies.
s/h stop worrying hun, have a virtual muffin, they are v low cal

scully · 27/09/2005 12:46

actually, I would love that one as well, and that fish recipe you mentioned earlier. might inspire me to cook interesting things again, like I used

scully · 27/09/2005 12:56

& your height makes a difference with weight as well, you can carry more if you're taller. I'm 5ft nothing and was a size 14 before falling pregnant so look slightly different to my sister who is 5ft6 & a size 10
Had wanted to something else on here as well, but do you think I can remember what it was.....oh well, time for lunch, maybe it will come back to me.....

sweetheart · 27/09/2005 13:32

Ei I love you so much!!! I'd like to give you a big kiss 5 Ibs sounds great. Plus I weighted myself at lunch and I haven't put on 30Ibs, I've put on 28Ibs so that means minus baby it's only 3 Ibs! WOOHOO

DQ - loving the virtual muffin, cheers hun

george32 · 27/09/2005 13:40

SH, Ei, DQ, thankyou so much for all your suggestions.
Just got back from being out & about so I'm going to have a look at them all now.

ei23mummy · 27/09/2005 13:49

no worries s/h its the thing thats keeping me sane!! youv gotta remember that were carrying lodgers with ALOT of baggage so were gonna put some weight on!! and its mostly gonna go at/soon after the birth!! so not much to work off down the gym!!
your welcome george its so hard to choose a good pram as theres so much choice and they can be soooo expensive- my friend bought hers at a sale and it still cost her £500!!!! shes really silly with her money tho and spent £200 on ebay a couple of weeks ago on beanie babies!! youd think she had nothing better to spend her £ on as shes got two children AND is on benefits!!!! i love her to bits but it makes me so that every penny of my wages is accounted for but she can just spend her £ on whatever she wants and gets away with it!!
