Thanks Ei, I've tried it, it's like the senokot but under a different name. Tastes foul!

I'm seeing the GP this week so I might ask her for something. Midwife mentioned lactulose, worth a try I guess.

(Obviously not going to stop eating the choccy!!)

Harrizeb · 26/09/2005 14:09

Excuse me gate crashing. George we used fresh apple juice to help DS when he gets constipated. Not sure how much you'd have to drink though Hope it helps.

H x

ei23mummy · 26/09/2005 14:10

ah well sorry i cant think of anything more to suggest to try george
SH did you eat your flake?? im currently munching my way through a bar of galaxy! mmmmmmmmm

oh george, how awful...my digestive system plays havoc now and then its either one extreme or the other its certainly messed up with being pg. one of the joys coffee or grapes work on me -have you tried them? LOL at the thought of your diet lately consisting of mumsnetters tried and tested!!!
s/h I imagine YOU are relaxed and wishing the baby here, you did your nursery MONTHS ago!!! I am getting there, but I want it all done NOW!
and forheavens sake eat the flake. life is tooooooooo short to spend time resisting one choc bar! now if you were going to eat fifty you might have a problem, but one will do you no harm. (and I am indeed over justifying it, because lately I find i dont fancy ANYTHING to eat aside from shortbread/apple pie/brownie type things with either water or (decaff) tea. I've gone right off main meals, sandwiches, anythinglike that. its abit of an effort to eat anything really, yet I'm hungry. so its a new nightmare! penance for not putting on much weight to start with!........it all catches up with you!) actually read somewhere that 90% pg ladies all put on approx same amount of weight, however and whenever thro their pg, they end up the same amount gained.. so eat the thing!!!!

george32 · 26/09/2005 14:23

Thanks Harrizeb, I'll give anything a try at the moment. Hope you are OK.

Oh, the day is passing so slowly. I've been saving my list making until I leave but I might have to start today. We are finally going baby shopping in October!!!

sweetheart · 26/09/2005 14:25

george - have you tried brown sugar disolved in water. I think thats supposed to relieve blockages!!

DQ - sorry to hear your off meals, still it's a good excuse to pig out isn't it. If I were you I'd go for scones with jam and clotted cream with that cuppa uummmmmmm!!!!

Yes, we did do the nursery months ago - and I have been feeling a little too organised IYKWIM. I get the feeling the baby will arrive and I will have forgotten something fundamental. Thats normally my style.

george32 · 26/09/2005 14:26

It is getting pretty random DQ. Shopping basket full of Polos, apple juice and grapes for me tonight!

george32 · 26/09/2005 14:27

LOL!!

Off to the kitchen to try the brown sugar in water.

SH, please help me, I've not planned anything [bluch]

george32 · 26/09/2005 14:28

Bluch??? Whats bluch?? Noise my insides are making I think

Nemo1977 · 26/09/2005 14:29

Nemo1977 · 26/09/2005 14:30

Am also another one who feels completely unprepared...sigh the only thing i had in mind was moving adam..now thats done i seem to have stopped again...lol

george32 · 26/09/2005 14:33

Last week in Oct for shopping rather than beginning of so still time for lists!

Oooh, wish I was in my PJs still

sweetheart · 26/09/2005 14:38

george - I'd be happy to help - you'll have to let me know of anything I can do

NO!!! I haven't eaten the flake - you lot are a bad influence

Nemo1977 · 26/09/2005 14:38

my little boy turns 2 a fortnight today. Just realised this tiem 2 yrs ago I was officially one day overdue..lol

ei23mummy · 26/09/2005 15:00

lol at your shopping basket george!!
im starting to feel completely disorganised now!! i have bought clothes for bub and the nursery is done apart from the storage but other than that i wrote a list with all the things i think well need for the baby that we havent been given/bought and it was like 2 sides of a4 paper long!! im panicking a little and when i showed dp he was like 'oh dont worry weve got ages left yet!!' he doesnt realise that time goes really quickly esp if your busy doing other things and your not getting prepared iykwim!
right panic over!! i might go and buy another bar of galaxy to ease the tension!!

Ei, I'm just banking on the fact that everyone says the last few weeks absolutely drag. Oh, I hope so, otherwise this baby is sleeping in an armchair!!

Why sad Nemo? I think it's lovely that your little lad is turning 2.

Right, SH, I need the best travel system I can get for £300, can you help? Only requirements I think I need are 4 wheels (unless everyone thinks 3 are better), a car seat that clicks on to a fixable base in the car, and not too sure what other essentials you look for really.

Only 10 mins to go - not been too productive today!!

ninah · 26/09/2005 17:11

OMG I thought I'd have a quick look to see how you all are before I go home and it's like War and Peace! with a lot of food porn thrown in ..
hope to catch up soon
TP tomorrow ladies!
Take care all
Ninah

dramaqueen72 · 26/09/2005 17:11

LOL at you ladies...
s/h It is a great excuse to pig out, and altho my nibbling isnt very healthy (tho its homemade so I feel abit better) its not alot of food. so I wish i oculd pg out. its a banana here, a bit of toast there, a brownie later........ guess belly bean is taking up tummy room now. well I dont have to guess I have to just look in the mirror!!!
ninah, where are you today? and kangel? and well.... lots of people really. its just a few of us on here usually isnt it? (did we scare 'em off?)
I am feeling pretty good about christmas, its getting organised well. -gifts and stockings I mean, nto food or relatives visiting or any of that tho! eek. our nursery is well...not done but quite do-able, iykwim. nothing a weekend of shopping wont fix and told dh he cant come home until hes booked the painter decorator.
of course this weekend I am stripping a new floor to ceiling old fashioned fireplace for the sitting room, which I am also determined to have up in place by christmas.......so i have heaped the pressure on myself actually. I'm quite good at that!

dramaqueen72 · 26/09/2005 17:11

oh there you are ninah!

Nemo1977 · 26/09/2005 17:12

george its gone to quick. I know it sounds funny and people tell you the years fly by but they really really have with Adam. I thought it would go slower with being at home etc. Just sad because this time next year he will be getting ready to go to nursery 5 mornings or afternoons a week...although by thne with a 10mth old i will probably be ecstatic..lol

ninah · 26/09/2005 17:13

I've had nose firmly held to grindstone dq! but I am trying to be here! oh no, more eating stories.
Fireplace sounds like a big job, how do you do it all?

ninah · 26/09/2005 17:15

nemo they just get better and better tho! ds will say such funny things now he's 3, don't be sad, it goes quickly but it gets more interesting every moment

Nemo1977 · 26/09/2005 17:18

ooo dq you would be proud am trying out a new sausage casserole recipe tonight...lol Although I do want you to email me a lovely brownie recipe..preferably choccie..mmmmmm

Nemo1977 · 26/09/2005 17:19

Ninah i know ds has got more lovely and feel less like being alone with the baby..if that makes sense..its just the fact they are little for such a short time..will just have to keep popping kds every couple of years..although if dh read that he would have a heart attack

ninah · 26/09/2005 17:22

I know, I look at ds's little face and want him to stay exactly as he is, but then again the more he grows the more I love him too!
