Lots of love to you and the girls jjkm - hope they're home with you asap x

holidays2010 · 17/11/2010 19:09

Hope all gets better soon jjkm.

Im sure I wake every hour. My thighs hurt today because of sleeping on my side.
I just admitted to my OH that ive been staying in bed after DD1 stirs at night so he can see to her. I am the pregnant one after all and getting out of bed is hard enough :o
But I dont think he was impressed :P

Amberc · 17/11/2010 21:17

Oh jjkm - what you must be going through. What expenses have you got - are you not NHS then? I know it sounds silly but every night I pray to St Gerard who is the patron saint of mothers to say thank you for everything . I was TTC for 16 months and went through a failed IVF. my sister got me a prayer to St Gerard blessed by her priest which I put under my pillow and I then got pregnant.I will include your daughters in my prayers tonight jjkm and hope it helps x

Thankfully you have savings. I'm sure lots of friends and family will want to buy you things too. You really don't need much to start off with.

This thread has become quiet?
The cold ive got is really draining me I hope im better soon.
How is everyone else?

smokeybacon · 18/11/2010 19:42

Hi all,

Gosh jjkm I had no idea that if you were insured you would still have to pay. However, am sure it will be worth every penny/cent when you have your girls home. Sending more good vibes over the Atlantic to you all.

All is well here. The boys are doing good but they are still in the sleepy first two week stage where all they do is, well, sleep. Lulling us into a false sense of security no doubt. They are back to their birth weight now though.

Feeding takes agggeeeeesssss. I am doing a bit of boob and a bit of bottle for each, every feed. I'm not sure how much longer the boobs will be open for business as with the DH going back to work next week and the other two DCs around, I probably won't have time to continue, but I will give them as much BM as I can until it really gets too much.

Wonder how jenz and swazzee are doing?

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 18/11/2010 19:44

Well wishes to your double bundle jjkm and thank godness you had some savings, you will find the money, where there's a will there's a way.

Hope you feel better soon holidays, made myself some iron rich lentil soup today, think I need a boost. Got my GTT date though today, joy. Still, finished work for the week and going to get all the baby stuff out this weekend for a sort out Grin We are doing a local TAMBA seminar thing tomorrow night and quite looking forward to meeting up with some other twin mum/dads to be.

Ooo Cerubina how did you get on yesterday? Are you doing the twins parent craft course in Jan?

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 18/11/2010 19:46

Glad all is well Smokey and well done on the BF'ing!

holidays2010 · 19/11/2010 09:58

I slept much better last night but DD1 kept having bad dreams so it was broken sleep.
Hoping for a good rest tonight god knows I need it!

I may take a nap soon-have to go to a work focused interview later even though im ill and pregnant :-(

When would you say is not too early to start giving out xmas cards?

tabbycat76 · 19/11/2010 10:35

Remember me?!?!?

Haven't been on here for absolutely ages for one reason or another, so about time I caught up and read up on latest events! I see a few more have delievered so many congratulations to those that have!! My name on that list I see is growing ever closer to the top - I remember when it was way down the bottom - crikey how time flies!!!

Well I'm almost 27 weeks now and this pregnancy does seem to be moving along quickly! I'm looking forward to our next scan on 29th. Forgive me for forgetting but I read one of you had 3lb babies and long femur lengths at this scan?!? Wow! They're fab sizes - I can't imagine mine are that big yet. A colleague at work is 10 weeks behind me with one, and people have commented that her bump is as big as mine. Another colleague is that same gestation with one and she is the same size!! Dunno where mine are hiding!!

Had a bit of a scare last night tho. Wondered what your thoughts are. Woke up at 0130 with abdo pain and a hard belly. Not a lot of movements felt and they're normally nocturnal creatures. Anyway, the pain (lasted only a few minutes) subsided and I drifted back to sleep. My tummy does flit between hard and soft with no pain but last night was different for waking me up. I've felt them move today but perhaps not as much as I'd have expected. What to do?? Wait and see or phone up? Don't want to sound like a worry-wart as I sometimes can be!! Tummys nice and soft now and no pain at all. This pregnancy lark can be very stressful!!!

Anyway, enough from me. Hope everyone is ok and for those that don't remember me, well, you'll soon get to know me! :)

Right off to read your birthing stories now!! So excited that new lives are entering this world from our thread!!!

tabbycat76 · 19/11/2010 10:45

p.S - Has anyone else been leaking milk antenataly?!?! Especially after a shower. My husband wont come near me now! He says the milk is just eugh, and the babies are too big and wriggly now that it'd just be wrong!! I told him is this my life now.... no 'funnies' until next spring and his reply was, well, that's when the sheep do it!!!!! Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!! May as well be a nun!

Hi tabbycat, I'm sure all is well but you know they say it's better to be safe then sorry, get it checked out so you can put your mind at rest. :)

Amberc · 19/11/2010 11:58

Tabby - welcome back - I wondered where you were! That sounds like Braxton hicks to me. Hard and soft. Shouldn't have pain though. No milk leakage thank God!

Oh I have a date for my C Section - 7 January 2011. That is exactly 37 weeks. That's only 7ish weeks away! And it was me Tabby who had the 3lb babies but at my last scan they were 3.8lb! Ihave another one on Tuesday so lets see what comes out of that. I am certainly enormous and I am getting no sleep at all now with all the back and leg pains Sad

Good luck Amberc, sorry to hear about your trouble sleeping - hope you get some rest soon.

tabbycat76 · 19/11/2010 15:25

Thanks guys - yeah next time I may well phone up and ask for reassurance. It woke me up from sleep so was already lying down, and I'm drinking loads (can never seem to drink enough at the mo) jjkm but I thought it might be Braxton Hicks, but so soon?!??!

Wow for the c-section date Amberc - not far off at all!! I wonder how big they'll be at delivery if they were 3lb at 28weeks!! Can't wait for news. I'm looking to transfer my care to our new local hospital at 32 weeks and will be pleading for a section. Fingers crossed I get one - the thought of a vaginal twin delivery.... very pleased for those that have had a normal delivery, but not for me thanks.

Good luck for your scan Tuesday! Keep us posted. I start my frequent scans from 29th for growth so hopefully all will be fine.

Swazzee · 19/11/2010 18:39

Hi all! Still here, and hating the NHS. Came in to be induced yesterday morning but was told that because I'm having twins, they can't induce me on the normal ward, only on the labour ward, which is unfortunately 'chocablock'. So I've been in 'Hope Ward' ever since, 'hoping' for either a bed to open up in labour ward or for the twins to start things off naturally. It's so frustrating just waiting! DH and my mum are sat here with me and we're just whiling away the hours. I offered to go home and come in when they're ready but they said it was best to be here.

Having worked myself up for yesterday the whole episode is a horrible anti climax and I've spent most of today quite tearful. Bit better now though. So, tomorrow is my mum's birthday and we're all hoping the twins will arrive then. Fingers crossed!

holidays2010 · 19/11/2010 19:52

Hey swazzee hope a bed becomes available soon and all goes well!

At least twice a day one of the twins decides to fidget at the lowest point they can- its abit uncomfortable! :P
How are you getting on magic?

Amberc · 19/11/2010 20:31

Swazee how awful- that's why I am so hoping my two decide not to turn up before my private c section date!

OP posts:
smokeybacon · 19/11/2010 20:51

to tabby. Just PM'd you. You beat me here so some of the pM is now out of date!!

swazzee understand your frustration, but try to rest tonight and get your strength up for tomorrow, and hope you get to meet your DTs soon. Good luck, will be thinking of you.
