Jenz best of luck for today - hope you don't get 'bumped' by more emergencies and get to meet your babies at last. Can't wait to hear about them when the time is right.

holidays if you are 'having' to do housework at two addresses then damn right don't be doing your OH's washing up - he made it dirty, surely he can make it clean again! The same would go for putting washing away too.

Lavita I adore your girls' names. So pretty. Are the Florence and Siena parts Tuscan influenced? Both beautiful places! Looking forward to hearing more about it when you have a chance to write up the story.

Spanner what a pity to be suffering with ms so early on. If you can, try to make sure your stomach never gets completely empty between meals (assuming you can eat anything) as this definitely seems to bring on the nausea. Hope you can find something that will stay down and calm things down. Also having a job where you feel people are dependent on you performing well can't be easy - there were times during my first trimester when I was only functioning on about half my normal power and I didn't even have bad ms. Do you think coming clean to your boss early on might be a good idea to make sure you can get extra support?

Hope everyone had good weekends. We had a lovely day with my mum and dad on Saturday, and yesterday managed to get a few more things unpacked and sorted out at home (we had building work recently, only moved back at the time we were having ICSI so have been a bit compromised on how much unpacking and sorting out could get done - slow and steady wins the race). Had a bit of heartburn last night after troughing a yummy sausage casserole, and I think I may have felt the babies fluttering a little bit. Very hard to tell how much is imagination/wishful thinking though.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 15/11/2010 11:11

Jenz Good luck today! Thinking of you :)
Holidays I am about the same as you and feeling it already too.....forget the washing up at your OHs, let him do it!
Beautiful, beautiful names Lavita :)
Spanner big welcome to you! As Cerub says graze all day......have to you tried rice cakes?
Swazze 51 weeks LOL!!! Grin fab! I feel about that now!
Thanks for your tips ladies for restless legs. Have had lots of irony meals and started taking my vits again (got a little slack after about 12 weeks). Have also been having a glass of milk at bedtime which is also helping with the heartburn (although I have already taken gaviscon this morningAngry). I am STARVING today

Amberc · 15/11/2010 11:19

OOOh - Jenz - good luck for today!

It's complicated, we basically live together but both our places are too small for 3 kids so soon enough we'll be moving somewhere bigger.

Magic, have you been feeling any 'low down' kicks? I dont know what they're kicking but it isnt comfortable! I assume it to be my bladder or something...

My DD woke at 5.40am and my OH walks into our room with her and says "Oh look at mummy, sleeping like a baby"...Had that been true I wouldnt have minded but when you've been tossing and turning all night because you cant bloody sleep - I just wanted to punch him!
Sometimes I really wish we could swap places... :P

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 15/11/2010 11:55

Hi Holidays am feeling lots of kicking down low especially when I am sitting (my last scan they were both breech and dancing on my bladder, don't think they have turned because the feelings are still the same?) but feeling pokes to my sides & above my belly button too now, much to my relief as I have anterior placenta which was cushioning the kicks and making me a tad anxious. Hope you can catch 40 winks at some point today! HOw are you Amberc are you feeling a little better?

Amberc · 15/11/2010 14:14

I still feel like pants Magic! My back is chronic!

OP posts:
Swazzee · 15/11/2010 17:37

Had my presentation scan today - Twin 1 still head down, so induction all going ahead on Thursday. DH can't wait til then though and keeps asking if I'm in labour every 10 minutes! Thursday seems a long way off! And the night time heartburn, drooling and carpal tunnel in my fingers couldn't end too soon!

SpannerPants · 15/11/2010 18:40

I've discovered the combination of hobnobs and gaviscon keeps the nausea at bay!

The busier work is, the more I have to focus on it so I forget about how rubbish I'm feeling. I'm definitely going to tell my boss though. I had a bit too much excitement today which led to me pestering the nurses for some gaviscon!

Swazzee good luck for Thursday! Bet you can't wait to meet them.

Magic8 How exciting to have them kicking - I can't wait to feel them moving around!

Cerub unpacking is a nightmare isn't it?!

Holidays I think OH should get used to doing 2 lots of washing up as it'll be left to him once the babies are here!

kingfix · 15/11/2010 19:24

hello, can I join? We found out I'm expecting twins at my dating scan last week, quite a shock!

I've got 2 children already but know nothing about twins. After hearing lots of terrible stories, I got some nice ones on here.

Hi kingfix I am in the same situation as you! 2 kids already and then twins. How old are your first two? I am still pinching myself that I am a mother of four.

Wonder how jenzopos is getting on.

holidays2010 · 16/11/2010 08:13

I'm still tossing and turning every hour at night, my legs have had enough of me sleeping on my side! I dont see how the genii pillow will fix that but I'll buy it soon enough anyway.
I think a memory foam mattress would work best but I'm not made of money! :P

My DD will be off school today, she's got another cough, sounds quite flemy so I'll keep her off today to see how it develops and hopefully the rest will make her well enough to go in tomorrow?

Just think, once these two arrive we'll have a constant turn of coughs and colds every week passing from one to the other in our house! :(

Actually on the subject of my OH, I did half the washing up then gave up (mixture of laziness and tiredness) and when he got in I told him, "Oh you can do that...I'm too tired". (first time I've used that one) and he said "Oh you're always tired"! But he didnt argue...the washing is still there but as it's his day off today he said he'll do it then. :P
I seriously thought given how much he hates mess he'd get the washing done immediately! Just goes to show how it's one rule when he has to clean and another rule when I have to clean! (i.e I should do it striaght away!).

Hope everyone is feeling well?

Amberc · 16/11/2010 08:54

Holidays I would like to give your oH a stern talking to

OP posts:
kingfix · 16/11/2010 09:47

smokeybacon mine are a girl of 4 and a boy of 16 mo, so I'll have 3 under 3 when the twins come along.

I feel I ought to be a bit more domesticated if I am going to be a mother of four.

smokeybacon · 16/11/2010 12:21

Same here kingfix. 3 under 3!! My DSs are 5 , 18 months and now the DTs who are 9 days . Can I heartily recommend a post natal doula to help in the early weeks? We've got one and although it's early days and dh is on paternity leave , it is great to have the extra help, breast feeding support and another pair of hands.

holidays2010 · 16/11/2010 15:39

I have an update on the washing up situation...He did it, but then got all moody because he realised he also had to clean the oven and grill...jobs I do usually, but I know because they were dirty he would say it's because I "never" clean them...not because HE made them dirty!

Anyway he's off washing his car now. I'm not sure he's happy with me at the mo.

He got all panicky when I set a dirty dish in the kitchen - telling me to clean it! It's like he thinks I'm just going to leave all the dishes to him now!
I have a good mind to but now I see I'm really going to get little if not no (complaint free) help from him.

Oh well.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 16/11/2010 18:15

evenin ladies anomaly scan went well today babies growing well and no sign of ttts. We didn't find out the sex and glad we are keeping it as a surprise Grin like to keep everyone guessing lol! One up one down and they were crashing around all over the place. One was having a right old yawn, bless very cute. Went to Mothercare on the way home for a splurge and to flash the tamba membership. Feel very smiley and excited today and m/w prescribed me some ratinidine for heartburn so hopefullt that will help as gavison has become my daily drink of choice and doing sweet fa.

Wonder how Jenz is getting on???????????????

Holiday don't sweat the small stuff, let your OH take care of the dishes you need to be putting your feet up. Good practise for him when you are feeding 2 hungry bubbas! Hope your DD is better.

Not long now Swazzee - exciting!!!

Welcome Kingfix!

Cerubina · 16/11/2010 18:30

That's brilliant news Magic - it must really put your mind at rest to get that scan out of the way and must be lovely to see your little ones that bit more developed and active than at 12 weeks. Don't blame you for going on a splurge after that - what did you buy?!

Welcome kingfix and I hope all is going well with your pregnancy so far. 4 little ones will be a hell of a handful!

holidays2010 · 16/11/2010 19:03

Glad to hear it Magic.

Oh he's not talking to me, he's in a huff, apparently he's wasted his day off...
And had I done the washing up he would have wasted his day off anyway...on the PC.
'sigh'
You just cant please some people.
But no doubt if he chooses to let me know why he's in a huff he'll make it out to be something much more elaborate.

I cant believe what a damned layabout I'm with. Feeling envious at those of you with supportive partners! Do let them know you appreciate it wont you girls? :)

holidays2010 · 16/11/2010 20:43

I just know im getting a sore throat, I cant believe ive caught at least 3 colds since DD1 started school in september. Not fair - on me or her! And it doesnt help that OH is puffing away in the bed next to me :-(

Sorry had to rant

Amberc · 17/11/2010 09:10

I have said it before but your OH is getting on my nerves holidays! You have the patience of a saint!

Magic - good news on the scan - I am splurging myself now and have spent a fortune but i've only bought necessities!

OP posts:
kingfix · 17/11/2010 09:54

Talking of shopping, what are you buying? What do you think the necessities are?
A bigger car (gulp) and a double (triple?) buggy for us, but i don't know what else we'll need.
IS it worth joining tamba?

holidays2010 · 17/11/2010 10:11

He's over his huff.
I'm feeling out of it just because of this cold! Might grab a nap in a min-screw the chores!

I still havent bought anything.

Magic how are you sleeping-any trouble?

Amberc · 17/11/2010 10:39

I've only just started buyiong thois week at 29 weeks holidays.

Kingfix, if you can be bothered to read backwards there are a few lists of essentials we did. And I have already got my money back on the TAMBA membership!

OP posts:
Magic8ballhastheanswers · 17/11/2010 11:58

Kingfix My Tamba membership has more than paid off already after my splurge in Mothercare yesterday and buying my dreamgenii pillow a few weeks back. Next stop Clarks for 10% off DDs winter shoes.

I started buying bits ages ago when I did my food shopping, little and often, especially when you can get 3 early baby babygros in Asda for £3.25 or something ridiculous! Amberc I am trying not to think of how much I have spent. I do have lots of put on Ebay actually from DD that we wont use (including 2 buggies).

Sleep? What is this sleeeeep???? Awake from 1-4ish no idea why, hence can't be bothered to do anything today!

holidays this time of year is shit for bugs and kids. So far DD has had cold & D&V bug and woke up with another cough this morning JOY. Hmm at your OH smoking next to you in bed!
