Im thinking ill get my oh to trim me then when the big day nears.
Are you private or nhs tabby?

For the last 4 days I havent been able to walk on my foot properly, I have no recollection of hurting it and I only where trainers, so it cant be my shoes. Confused

Amberc · 10/12/2010 09:21

I've done my bag but not put any baby things together yet. I keep meaning to but I'm too knackered.

When I was first pregnant with DS my midwife said that they never noticed anyone's downstairs as they see so many of them. I asked her whether I should shave or trim for the birth and she said not to bother (I still did a little bit though)

I'm nhs holidays Can't imagine what youve done to your foot tho! Is it just your foot or does it radiate up your calf? As for what midwives have told you before amberc yeah that's right.... I saw so many that it became such that when you've seen one you've seen them all and ordinarily it wouldn't make any difference to delivery what state you're in. But for suturing purposes.... it may make it easier for the midwife and be more comfy for you as you heal.

Told my hubby about my hospital bag last night and he said we'll sort it at the weekend... ha, I've heard that one before so we'll see.

Have people quite far on in their pregnancy found that their movements have changed? Mine, since yesterday lunch time haven't been as strong and unless I hold my tummy I'm not so aware of them which is unusual. What are peoples thoughts or what have you been told about movements?

holidays2010 · 10/12/2010 12:01

After doing a little extra walking today and carrying two slightly heavy shopping bags home I think I know what's wrong with my foot.
Because now my other foot has started up a bit!! I think it's just the extra weight from my bump. Its putting extra pressure on my feet!
All the walking I'm doing is good but I guess my feet just isnt used to the extra weight yet.
As for hospital bag - I'm not going to pack that until I'm at least 30 weeks - havent got everything for it yet anyhow.
Is anyone bringing a breast pump with them? I might bring mine but not sure yet. (Havent actually bought that yet either) :P

Amberc · 10/12/2010 12:02

Mine aren't anywhere near as kicky. Much more squirmy now and less of them. They do get less when you get bigger due to lack of room but my cons said as long as you feel 10 movements a day you are OK.

The hospital bag is such a shag. Especially when you know you are having a c section as you need 4 days worth of stuff Sad

Snowfalls108 · 10/12/2010 14:16

Do the hospitals provide breast pumps? I think they do.

Just ordered some new nursing/maternity bras - got them from www.nursingbra-shop-.co.uk - very good, arrived in 2 days, and they were a bargain. Pretty Hot Milk one for about £18.

Hospital bag is a hassle - AmberC, aren't you going to the Portland? They provide most things for the babies which helps a bit with the packing. With DS I found I needed so much although I was only in for 2 days after cs.

holidays2010 · 10/12/2010 14:52

I got two non wired bras from Bravissimo for £20 each.
But il have to get more, already can feel im bigger plus il need nursing bras.
Im trying to avoid spending too much as weve decided this is my last pregnancy so its not like I can reuse any of this stuff.

Amberc · 10/12/2010 17:39

Snowfalls yes the POrtland do provide practuially everything but I may not get that far and need to pack for my local hospital just in case.

Yes hospitals do provide breast pumps

I hate nursing bras - they are so unsupportive and when you have mega mangoes like mine they're not comfy. I need UNDERWIRE!!! I have found this one bra so once I get fitted I will buy a couple - a bit ££ though. Got the NCT woman coming next week to fit me but I don;t like any of her bras. I ffeel a bit bad as she is making a special visit to my home...

couple of things just had a mini melt down.... discovered mould in our bedroom around a week ago, am freaking out! it cant be good for the babies.... we live in an expensive flat in a very nice area, my DP rang my agency a few days ago to ask someone to come out and they said they would get back to us..and guess what ?? no one has been out!!

They have been aware of this for a week now and noone has come to look at it. I want to move out, but they have told us if we do we loose our LARGE deposit. I am so angry... came home took one look at the wall and bust into tears Angry

Have been researching mould on babies but apparently they dont breathe in the same air as you? they are breathing in the amniotic sac..but I am going up to the agency tomorrow to give out to them....pregnant woman on the rampage..look out!!!. DP said he would come with me..think that is for there sake not mine !

Have my first xmas party tomorrow with friends and am excited but know that by 10 everyone will be talking rubbish and drunk and ill want to sneak off to bed... and we are staying at the friends as its a couple of hours away and DP will want a few drinks...

Feel tired and emotional today. Dont know why... on a brighter note have signed up to a TAMBA ante natal class beginning of jan so cant wait for that and physically feel great so cant complain too much. will have too look into getting a good bra fitting as well...I think im growing by the day !

sorry rant over..think my DP thinks im a loon....

Snowfalls108 · 10/12/2010 18:57

Hippy - I'm sure your babies will be fine, but go and give the agents hell.
So there's a really good local twins club here, should I bother joining Tamba as well?

hippy3 · 10/12/2010 20:00

I joined both TAMBA and my local twins club..although I dont know how good they are yet ?? figure the more info and support I can get the better....Smile

Hey girls hope you enjoyed your wkend?
Feeling abit out of breath today, even when I sit down!
OH is annoying me again. If I let my DD1 dress herself he takes over and starts dressing her as if he has to because im neglecting her. But shes nearly 5 and im trying to teach her to be independent! Afterall I cant be so hands on with her once the twins arrive but its like he doesnt get it.
Its the same thing when I encourage her to go toilet by herself-if hes about he starts huffing and puffing telling me to go in with her.
She has to sort herself out in school or does he think the teacher follows her everywhere!?

Ok rant over, apart from that im ok.
Oh I also have mould in my flat, been waiting over a year for oh to paint it...
Story of my life.

Snowfalls108 · 13/12/2010 15:03

Oh my god the sickness. Nothing has stayed down since last night. Horrendous!

holidays2010 · 13/12/2010 19:04

Aw poor snowfalls, hope you feel better.

Had my 26 week scan today. Its as I thought - one twin is head down, but the other is lying across the top of the bump Xmas Smile
But everything is fine with them so im happy.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 14/12/2010 09:38

Morning all, it's been quiet around here the last few days, how is everyone doing?

Glad all good Holidays, I have a scan next week (27 weeks). Bless your OH for mothering her but step away from the little lady and give her some independence, little girls love to do all that stuff for themselves and you are def not neglecting her!

Snowfalls how are you feeling today? Managed to keep anything down? TAMBA is good for the discounts so worth joining just for that.

How are your girls jjkm?

What's happening with the mould Hippy? How was your party?

How you feeling Amberc?

I am 99% certain that the hospital will provide a pump. Not sure if you will need it that early on though.

Tabby I think the general consensus is that any change/reduction in movements should be reported to your midwife. The movements must change as they are so cramped in there, bless 'em!

Have half done my hospital bag........everything except clothes.

Anyone heard from Victoria? and Cerubina? Hope you are ok girls if you are lurking.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Cerubina · 14/12/2010 13:02

Hi, I'm here! I have been struggling a bit with a stiff back which makes sitting at my desk or walking/standing for any length of time quite uncomfortable. And I'm only 21 weeks - it needs nipping in the bud, so I went for physio this morning and the girl said it was probably bad posture catching up with me (I have always had rather round shoulders - attractive!) and the bump is exaggerating the curve of my spine. I've booked to have a pregnancy massage tomorrow so hope that helps click something back into place.

Also tomorrow is my anomaly scan, so please cross fingers and send good vibes for that. The babies are moving quite a lot and just about getting to the point where their movements can be felt from the outside (my husband can't wait for this) so I do feel everything is OK with them, but will be nervous nonetheless. Cervix being scanned too and I hope to get their thoughts on whether there's any reason to think I should finish work earlier than I'm expecting (around 30 weeks).

Snowfalls hope the sickness was a one-day blip and you are able to eat again.

hippy I bet the managing agents didn't know what hit them when you gave them what-for! Will they get it sorted for you? I have also signed us up for a Tamba course - it's an evening seminar by Carol Cooper who wrote one of the few books on expecting twins and supposedly is all about the practical aspects so think that'll be useful.

holidays glad all was well with your scan. How are your sore feet?

Victoria hasn't been seen round here for weeks - where are yoooou? Hope all is well.

holidays2010 · 14/12/2010 19:10

Ditto on points made by magic and cerubina, wheres victoria?

My feet still hurt :( it means im waddling like a duck and not because of my bump!
Its the joints and toes, they ache but I can still walk so im ok.
I should really book a physio too.

I have the glucose test coming up just before xmas - not looking forward to that.

Hope youre all well! Xmas Smile

Snowfalls108 · 14/12/2010 19:39

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 14/12/2010 19:46

I have mine too holidays was supposed to be on sunday but the bloody nurse didn't turn up Angry Your poor feet, god we are all a mess in our own special ways! I am just one itchy tired heartburny wreck! I now waddle pretty much too.

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow Cerubina and enjoy your massage.

Snow get well soon, great that you have your own room. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep :)

hippy3 · 14/12/2010 20:24

cerubina how did the scan go??? I am feeling surprisingly good..im not too far behind you am i?? I dont feel pregnant apart from the bowling ball I feel im carrying in my stomach.!

I noticed you said ur cervix is being scanned.... is this standard with twins mine was checked about two weeks ago and they said it was fine.... should I ask for it..?

Thanks guys...x cannot get it into my head that it is xmas in a few days !!Xmas Shock

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 14/12/2010 21:13

hippy I think they check cervix at all scans but not sure if it is routine - except possibly at 20 week anom scan, unless you have had problems in the past. No harm in asking for it though. To get an accurate measurement they usually do TV scan.
