RTL - im with you on the thrist thing..... would rather drink than eat, but saying that, managed my tea tonight - ok so it may have been a kids sized portion but i ate it all!

Redtartanlass · 26/09/2005 21:09

Only thing is, what to drink? Didn?t use to be a problem?vodie and coke please barman.

Not a fan of water, fruit juice gives me even worse heartburn, fizzy drinks=heartburn. Cordials=heartburn. Any suggestions? Already paying out about £20 a week on Canaston.

Redtartanlass · 26/09/2005 21:10

Canaston omg I meant Gaviston

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 21:12

RTL - get it on prescription hun!!!

Drink wise - i drink a lot of milk and squash..... the only things im fine with. Fruit juice on occasions.

Coke only if i REALLY fancy it.

My other great drink at the moment is Orange lucozade, but i have to go steady as it causes heartburn for me too.

morningpaper · 26/09/2005 21:19

Water, water, water - bottles of it all day. Also I keep sucking on the sponges and flannels in the bathroom. I am DESPERATE for moisture. Our bodies must be busy!

mawbroon · 26/09/2005 21:31

Blooming heck girls. I am without internet for ONE day whilst I get my laminate floor laid and we have a new arrival (congratulations alterego ) and a thread a mile long!!

Nothing to report on bump front here today apart from manic cleaning..... Still breech. Going to see midwife tomorrow.

Hope all of you who are cheesed off and sore etc get moving soon!

MB

Redtartanlass · 26/09/2005 21:50

You can get Gaviston on prescription OMG I suppose it's too late now.

Should we start another thread, it takes for me to scroll to bottom.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 21:54

RTL - just click add message at the top and it takes you to the bottom!

I cant believe you didnt know you could get gaviscon on prescription! Its one perk of being pg!!!

Dont take the stuff myself becasue its vile.... i prefer Rennie Soft Chews but i havent needed them that much in this pg!!!

Redtartanlass · 26/09/2005 22:06

I reckon I must of spent about 400 quid on Gavisont, I could weep. I'm gonna phone docs tomorrow.

hester · 26/09/2005 22:07

Alterego!!!! Congratulations and I can't wait to hear the full story

Well ladies, I still have no hot water . I am NOT allowing this to interfere with my nesting, though: the kettle is on the boil almost constantly as I attack the pigsty that is aiming to be home to my precious firstborn. Sunday morning I was standing on a table, in my nightie, hanging half out the window (I live in a third floor flat) trying to clean the outside of the glass. I'm sure you're not supposed to do that at nine months pregnant (or at any time, probably) but it suddenly felt urgent...

The good news is that I have finished work! Am delighted; feeling SO tired now, and even walking is uncomfortable now she's 2/5 engaged. Unlike most of you, though, I don't want to go into labour yet. I'm desperate for at least a couple of weeks to rest, nest and have a bit of time for just me and dp before our lives are transformed.

Had a baby shower at the weekend! It was lovely. I now have enough baby clothes to keep a small baby army going...

All this talk about people's tummies going a bit dicky before labour. I've felt nauseous and a bit dicky all week, and been having achey pains in my lower back and pelvis. Signs of getting ready, oh wise ladies who have done this before?

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 22:21

Mawbroon - maybe your bump will do a acrobatic turn tonight! I swear that since I had my section date through that Boo has turned which would be and I'd have to have words with my naughty baby!

I shall let everybody know what happens with the consultant tomorrow. Hopefully I wont be there too long!

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 22:23

Got a huge list of questions to ask tomorrow as well, all logical ones like what types of stitches do they do, and what vitamin K method do they use etc how long long the section will take. Anybody got any logical questions I can ask that I may have forgotten?

SusiS · 26/09/2005 22:28

yep, i am thirsty too!
and terrible heartburn!!!
milk for me most of the time or squash
the only problem is i can't drink/eat much at once because somehow i feel so full in an instant and it hurts - and i am still hungry/thirsty

omg hester, STILL no hot water! that's terrible!!! hope you'll get your 2 weeks off though

jm i am with you on pain/aches on and off! sometimes i can't get off the sofa without being in terrible pain, or walking can be awefull too. then 20 min later i am fine again.
quite frustrating really. because every time i think 'this is it!'

Moomin · 26/09/2005 22:34

SusiS · 27/09/2005 07:08

pheww 5 days to go and just nothing!
can feel her being quite low now but that's about it. let's see what the day brings ....

danishmummy · 27/09/2005 07:31

NM2B -- Huge congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
In Danish: TILLYKKE!

Elf and Mawbroon -- looking forward to hearing what your consultants and midwife said today... thought baby was doing The Turn the other night, as lots of commotion and bump felt very "bottom-heavy" (can you say that in English?) the next morning... but not so sure today.

Panicking a bit as I have still got things to get for new arrival. But Dday is 28th Oct so still time. Or??? Anyone as late in October as me? Would hate to do the last stretch alone... Redtartanlass asked for thread with everyones due dates -- I would like to know too. Anybody?

Lexie100 · 27/09/2005 07:33

Fab news, congratulations

Slept well last night and only had to get up three times. Talk about drinking loads i have been counting and got to 4 litres most days. But i haven't got fluid retention so i think it's a good thing

OP posts:
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 27/09/2005 07:50

Slept ALL night without getting up once! Not talking to DH - decided to promptly fall asleep last night without even a hint of the activity i wanted!

HUGE CONGRATS to NM2B - not that she is 2B anymore!

Everything quiet again here, so just going with the fact i WILL be pregnant FOREVER!

SusiS · 27/09/2005 07:57

ehm, hope this works
