Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fastasleep · 18/09/2005 19:07

Aww JM I'm sorry I made you imagine horrible c-sectiony things I'm so forgetful... have been forgetting to talk to my friends in the real world even (duh!) the doctor really is taking the biscuit, felt like slapping him but DS was having a screaming fit so just left it and thought bugger it! In all honesty I could have gone to the hospital for a look at but I just can't bring myself to do it which is really pathetic I know... hangs head in shame

ohhhhhhhh god my bath oh dear! Paddles to bathroom! (My brain will grow back after the birth right?!)

mawbroon · 18/09/2005 19:09

Fastasleep - that's terrible. I can't believe that doc wouldn't even have a look Especially as you have had to wait so bloody long for an appointment.

Good luck for Tuesday. Kick ass when you get there!

Glad your ok FA!! Got us all a bit worried though? I was IKEA yesterday bought 99p toilet brush for ds1 who?s off to uni next weekend! Just about to have lovely lamb roast that dp cooked while I had a bath.

Have now got 2 new born vests, a crib (no bedding) and a pair of scratch mits, do you think that?ll be enough J&Bmum?

morningpaper · 18/09/2005 19:16

FA that's BAD! I hope it's something that can be cleared up QUICKLY.

I'm due on 2 October which is EXACTLY 2 weeks today - I've started packing my bags but don't have enough tee-shirts / clean pants / bras to pack so I'll shove a few in when I go into labour...

ButtonMoon · 18/09/2005 19:30

Goodness we are getting close now...people keep telling me about them having their babies a month early "any time now!!" I am packed, just about, just need a few nibbles and beverages in there. Tried to book my epidural (LOL!!) with the mw and she has written it on in big letters on my notes. Failing that she said to try a waterbirth!! Sounds good but I'm really scared of pain so am hoping that the nice kind anaesthetist WILL be around......my worst nightmare is them telling me I'm too far gone for one or I've got to wait. Mum said her second only took 3-4 hours, think I could probably just about cope if it doesn't go on a s long as DD did. Don't think that I am as scared as last time, just know it will hurt and it's got to come out within the next 5 and a half weeks (eek!) just seeing if i can beat DD's weight!! Oh and don't think I mentioned that we are due to move house at some point during the next couple of weeks (LOL!!) The race is on; baby arrives or house move first!!! Place your bets............I'm hoping for the option of leaving one house in labour, giving birth and coming out the next day to a new house , all done and unpacked!!! Take it easy all and I can't wait to hear which bundle arrives first!!! Take Care

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 18/09/2005 19:35

i cant believe some of you are so unorganised still!

FA - dont worry - i know you are safe and sound now so thats all that matters!

Have officially decided to do ANYTHING possible to get this baby moving now - ive had enough! Had a few BH earlier and nearly doubled over in pain.... god i hope it isnt a sign of what labour will be like! THis may be number 2 but i havent had a "proper" labour yet!

Redtartanlass · 18/09/2005 20:01

Och, just lost out on Ebay for 100 pieces of 0-3 mths girl clothes. Thought I was sorted then!!

I?m just hoping that?ll I go to the loo and she?ll just pop out!! Well you read about it in magazines don?t you?

nervousmum2be · 18/09/2005 20:52

Hi All. I had a lovely lunch, ate far too much (still, my stepdad was paying..!), and have just been vegging out on the sofa all afternoon while DP fitted the final kitchen worktop (one more job to cross off the list). Have really bad backache again this evening - going to have a bath and see if i can ease it a bit, otherwise i'll never sleep (hmm, no change there!)

nervousmum2be · 18/09/2005 20:54

Bummer on the eBay stuff Redtartanlass

I'm watching an auction that runs out in 10 minutes for a rare children's book from my youth. Fingers crossed...

nervousmum2be · 18/09/2005 21:13

Yay! Got my book. Goodnight, NM2B x

morningpaper · 18/09/2005 21:31

Oh god just been reading some of the postnatal threads and now feel like I need to drink a bottle of wine ... what are we letting ourselves in for?! ARGH!

Redtartanlass · 18/09/2005 21:34

what threads mp? or should i leave well alone!

morningpaper · 19/09/2005 08:21

If you go to the top of this page and go to Find Discussion > by topic then under Parenting there is Post-Natal Clubs, and then you can indulge in a bit of panic-reading...

BigBumpBonnie · 19/09/2005 08:53

If chatting a lot is a sign of labour approaching, we're all going to have our babies very soon!! Only not looked for a day and there's loads to catch up on . Glad you're ok FA as was getting a bit concerned about you as well.

RTL, I know what you mean about the heartburn tablets not working very well, but Gaviscon makes me heave. It's the consistency of the stuff. I wish i could keep it down as its much more effective.
Anyway, I haven't been eating healthily at all throughout this pregnancy. I've just craved carbs constantly.

Due in about 2 and a half weeks. I've been going by 5th October which was my EDD by scan, but by LMP it's 8th October. If it's less than a week I've been told I've to go by 8th October. Doesn't really make a difference as my babies never come on time anyway!

I'm really starting to get scared of the birth now it's getting closer. Read a thread on waterbirth on here the other day and that's starting to appeal so I'm going to have a chat with the midwife on Thursday, although knowing my hospital I'll doubt if I get it. If not it'll have to be an epidural. Did it without for dd and can't imagine going through that again. It's weird as it's my third birth but they are all so different it could be the first again. You never know what to expect! My first birth was by far the easiest and least painful and that was just with gas and air!!

Oh well, hope everyone's enjoying 'nesting', I'm still waiting for it to start.

speak soonx

Joseyjo · 19/09/2005 09:34

hello!!!

well, i am about ready to move over to the post-natal threads!
I had my beautiful baby boy on Thursday. A little earlier than planned (37 weeks and a week before the planned section dated) as i went into labour at 3 in the morning. Quite pleased about that actually as it proves he was cooked and also means that i have experienced contractions which i felt a bit wierd about missing out on.
He is called Daniel James and weighs 6lb13oz. He was born by "emergency" section - although in reality we had an hour and a half notice and it was amazingly calm. I came home on day 3 (saturday) and so far so good! he is quite good at sleeping, but not brilliant at eating, so we are learning together. Anyway, best go and have a wee nap before the next feed. HOpe you are all well and happy and i will log back on soon to read all the stuff i have missed!

Jockey · 19/09/2005 09:44

CONGRATULATIONS JJ!!! How lovely.

fastasleep · 19/09/2005 10:14

Awww congratulations!!! That's brilliant, I'm glad it was a calm experience! I hope he gets the hang of feeding soon, littlies are so much harder xxx (then again he's not that little, he beat my last one!)

fastasleep · 19/09/2005 10:17

I discovered after hunting madly through cupboards that I have enough newborn unisex and girls clothes (which I bought because I forgot about the unisex ones lol) to clothe an army of Sophias...they're all drying, just got to iron them tonight hospital bag nowhere near packed (not that I want to go into hospital anyway) but I haven't got any of my labour stuff like pads, which I really should!

I'm off to read the postnatal threads for a minute before I tackle the hell DS has caused already this morning... if I was nesting you wouldn't be able to notice, DS is on a complete rampage at the moment so even if I tidy it's just disgusting in 5 minutes flat

Lexie100 · 19/09/2005 10:55

Sat here sipping raspberry tea. Have backache from hell but maybe because i have just got back from walking the dog for over an hour.

Anyone started eating hot curries yet? I think sex is out of the question, DH wouldn't even touch me on my birthday!

Very emotional at the moment, had a huge cry yesterday. Feeling better today as off to see Dr and hear heat beat again.

OP posts:
fastasleep · 19/09/2005 11:01

AAAAAAAAAAARGH is anyone else losing their temper at the drop of a hat? I'm really really horrible at the moment the slightest thing and I'm yelling my head off!

I don't know what you're all on eating curries and talking of sex I've got 5 weeks left yet lol

DS has trashed the house in one fell porridgy swoop.. but I've got to the point where I'm thinking f... it just f... it I'm leaving it, I have to go out at 1 and I really don't give a sh.. about whether our house is a hellhole. I've officially given up!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 19/09/2005 11:57

Ive given up!

HUGE congrats to JJ.... and welcome to your little bundle!

2 births down..... we're getting there!

Ive got 4 weeks and 4 days left and i am seriously considering the raspberry tea..... sex is also out of the question here - too sore down there - talknig of which must phone docs for swab results!

Am thinking about going and getting some sleep before madam wakes up and is let loose on the house again....

Redtartanlass · 19/09/2005 12:33

JoseyJo ? CONGRATULATIONS, so glad everything went well.

MP ? think I?ll leave the Post natal clubs for a while, getting a wee scared as well BBB, and same as you it?s my 3rd! Galveston makes me retch but anything to get rid of the heartburn. I?ve got 23 days to go, but ds1 was 9 days early and ds2 was 2 weeks late and had to be induced.

Fastasleep ? I was angry, angry, angry a couple of weeks ago, felt like I had PMT from hell, but just woke up one morning and was gone!

On leave from work this week, so am just going to relax?..ds1 off to uni next week, so knowing my luck one?ll leave just as the other makes an entrance.

I want to be next?..

triceratops · 19/09/2005 12:48

Congratulations JoseyJo and welcome to your little boy. I am glad that you had a good birth experience.

I have a bad back and the opposite to all you folks with constipation.

I am fed up, didn't get any sleep last night. I have had a good shout at the PC world customer service team which always makes me feel a bit better (I have to do it at least once a week).

ButtonMoon · 19/09/2005 13:13

Congrats JJ and well done!! Had a very bad night last night with heartburn last night due to balti...never again!! Don't think I'll be indulging in curries to hurry things along, can't think of anything worse than being in labour and needing to rush to the loo every two mins because of a hot curry...not very pleasant for the mw! Feel crappy today....DD is being goodish but a few little strops this morning that have caused me to lose it and ended up in floods.....like an emotional wreck at mo and my eyes are sore now. Keep getting twinges down below...not contractions but I think the baby getting it's head right down ready (gulp!) Just bought last few provisions for bag...all done now. House move looking further and further away now...think baby will arrive first.......

Redtartanlass · 19/09/2005 13:18

Hey trice, do you think your bad back is anything to do with digging out tree stumps at the weekend?

Can you believe that I have just eaten not 2 not 4 but 6 bags of cheesy puffs. How stupid, I should really go for a wee lie down as ds2 is having a kip. But can?t be bothered, does that make sense?
