OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 13:36

susi - lets hope things get moving soon for you.....

WHY do i hurt so much, yet nothing is regular or painful ENOUGH to be the real thing?!

BigBumpBonnie · 26/09/2005 13:38

Anyone ever tasted castor oil? Isn't that supposed to really work? I don't know what it is or where to get it from though.

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 13:43

Castor oil is disgusting disgusting disgusting! Leave that for when you're so desperate you're contemplating buying yourself a crochet hook - even if it doesn't work it'll most likely leave you with horrid guts and make you vomit...

Mix it with orange juice if you do try it! You have to drink like half a bottle I think as well.. Chemists stock it.. but don't let them see you try and buy it with a bump, send DH or a friend!

BBB I never went off my food last time! At all! Don't worry!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 14:00

Dh has just got home, and ive told him about castor oil - his reaction "are we going to the chemist then!"

REally TMI here, but i made DH try and give me a sweep last night too - told him to have a rough rummage and see if that helps.... god im so desperate!

BigBumpBonnie · 26/09/2005 14:07

lol J&BM. I was thinking about a DIY sweep! God we're getting desperate on this thread.

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 14:09

Girls! It's not bloody October yet!3

BigBumpBonnie · 26/09/2005 14:12

I know, we're an impatient bunch. I feel sorry for those left on the September thread.

Us lot on here will all be deranged by mid October

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 14:13

i know i know but im just too desperate and too depressed to carry on any longer!!!

Everything is ready and waiting and theres only one thing missing.... the bloody baby!!!

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 14:27

You can do it girls! You caaan!

I feel drunk on hormones, not good... DS has destroyed the house, maybe we'll be able to just fall asleep and wake up to DH swearing at the mess...

Maybe I'll go find some pineapple before I try and get him in bed..

morningpaper · 26/09/2005 14:28

You lot are TERRIBLE! Am I the only one that wants it to STAY IN? Those babies are NOISY you know and they chew your nipples off! At least they are quiet at the moment!!!!

Went for a swab this morning and the student nurse was a bit of a clutz with the speculum - not v. comfy but I cracked lots of jokes and she apologised a lot. She said it might trigger my labour off and did I mind? UHM well I'd rather not have the baby JUST yet frankly but I always feel obliged to be extra nice to the nurses who are cranking my bits open with a car jack so I said "Go ahead dear!"

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 14:29

Dh is trying to pack me off to bed..... just dont know if ill sleep, or if i do, ill be up half the night again like last night!

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 15:19

Hmm, all this talk about pineapple but nobody has mentioned nipple tweeking! DH seems thrilled with that idea. But I've told him no way in hell! But if you do get desperate, you're supposed to stimulate a nipple (one at a time as two together has been shown to cause distress to the baby) for about an hour, then do the other. How the hell people know this stuff works is beyond me!
And for those desperate to try pineapple but hate the taste, be aware it's supposed to be the fresh stuff and tinned does not work. Just saving you the agony of eating something you don't like for nothing. Luckily I love pineapple and am off to buy some later!

Still got backache, but it's not hurting too much and am more concerned about feeling like I want to boff. Could be due to the fact that we've got no decent pop in the house so I've been drinking loads of black current juice.

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 15:22

Oh and got consultantion tomorrow about my C-section. The appointment is down for two hours as I have to see everybody and their dog. Bit concerned that I've got another urine infection, as last sample showed blood in it (doc said was probably related to last infection, even though I'd finished the treatment for that) and now my wee looks a funny colour!!

As much as I have loved being pregnant, I must admit I will be glad NEVER having to wee on demand again and never having to discuss my pee again with anybody!

SusiS · 26/09/2005 15:32

gosh, managed a walk into town and i am completly shattered now!! luckily dp was with me and did the pushchair driving

wow, walking around is really getting exhausting and painful now!!

and i do want this baby out - although mp you've got a point there: they ARE loud and stinky and chewy - but then again i hope i'll be able to sleep on my front again!!!!!!!

oh, also had a show in the morning but no constant pains really

hmmm, maybe they did some testing in a lab somewhere. women exposing their breasts and students tweeking away for an hour or more 'yuk'

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 15:39

I read about the nipple tweeking thing in the Mums on Pregnancy book by Mumsnetters! I think that it's a Sweedish thing...
DH keeps saying he's willing to try... I'm okay to give it a miss!! Got a few pains in my side now so getting a bit irritated. Maybe it's fate that I've been too lazy to order my shopping from Tesco for tomorrow morning... it could be a sign from above that the baby is coming tomorrow. Either that or I cant be arsed to bother faffing about on the Tesco site when I can be here on Mumsnet!

Jockey · 26/09/2005 17:08

Moomin - thank goodness for the internet access. At least something to hopefully keep you sane.

BBB - I haven't gone off food either. In fact, the opposite.

SusiS - a show!!! Wow. When are you due? (Off to check stats thread)

Elf - hang in there - it sounds as if it won't be long before something happens. Hope boo obliges.

JB&M - get as much rest as you can (if you can!).

I'm not at the point of crochet hooks yet as I'm resigned to being late once more and will probably be chatting away to myself on here!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 17:10

awww Jockey..... you'll pop before me, im certain of it! Im at the down-hearted "this is never gonna happen" stage!

Pains just keep tailing off and coming to nothing - thats what annoys me the most!

If there is anymore blood after the extra curricular bedtime activity tonight, i may phone the hospital and see what they say!

Jockey · 26/09/2005 17:15

Poor you J&BM - that must be particularly irritating - keep thinking something's happening and then it comes to nothing. Were you early/late with Jessica?

Actually I don't mind being late as for me "late" is normal IFYSWIM. But I could get caught if I'm not careful .

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 17:22

I was induced a week early with Jess because DH was in Iraq with work so ive never experienced "going into labour" - its a real PITA!!!

morningpaper · 26/09/2005 17:33

My midwife said that if I got a show not to worry - it can happen up to a comouple of weeks before a second baby apparently.

Glad that things are going ok Moomin - can't believe you've got internet access, fabbie!!

Jockey · 26/09/2005 17:46

I've heard that about a show as well. I only noticed a show with baby no 1 and he came a couple of days later.

I don't want this baby yet as dh still laid up with really bad 'flu and I won't be able to bite his knuckles! He shouldn't be allowed to get off that lightly.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 17:47

lol Jockey!!! Tell him to get over his man-flu because you need to have this baby!!!

DH is off tomorrow which is quite nice...... even if he has got to go to work for a meeting at 9am..... bloody army - never a proper day off!

Lexie100 · 26/09/2005 18:22

I'm exhausted, have backache, period pains, braxton hicks constantly yet i still have to clean the house so it's spotless. Why, why, why does the kitchen floor need bleaching again!

This really can't go on much longer

OP posts:
morningpaper · 26/09/2005 19:22

I've been in a right state all afternoon - feel like my pelvis is literally cracking in half! Paracetamol's not doing anything. Been sofa-bound - thankfully my mother was here!! Feel like I'm about 80. Off to bed now to cry.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 19:32

MP, Lexie - we are all suffering quite badly arent we!

EVERYTHING has stopped again this evening, so im even more of a bad mood than i was earlier!

Jessica is now goin to bed, so give it an hour and me and DH will be going up for a bit of extra curricular activity!
