Alterego - congratulations!
Elf - so excited for you, as you havent written again!!! Is this it? Thinking about you.
NM2B and Moomin - thinking about you too and looking forward to hearing your news.
Redtartanlass - thanks for your supportive, encouraging words from 24th sept. They warmed my heart and made me cry!!!

My baby was extraordinary busy last night, me nearly flying off the chair with the activity! Does this mean head down finally?

triceratops · 26/09/2005 08:44

Congratulations Alterego and welcome to your little boy. Does his head smell of baby? I am a babys head sniffer , I love them. I also gush over little grippy hands.

I am in denial now though and not expecting to meet my daughter for at least a month.

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 09:18

Well done Alterego! Sorry about your homebirth, it looks like my stupid kit won't be delivered before 38 weeks at the very minimum so I'm just going to be naughty and demand to have one even if it's just with paramedics - I'm adamant! (Although I have nothing scary like back to back to worry about!) can't wait to hear all about the gorgeous little man, he sounds just like my DS sniffle

4 babies and it's not even October, I really am going to be sat here probably till bloomin November chatting to myself

Then again DH and me went at it again and I got the funniest pains in my back that went right the way through to the front for a couple of hours OooooOooooh lol gone away now though, although I'm heading off to the hospital for my bloods (make me go don't let me avoid it any more don't let me just not mention it in the hope it goes away! Lol) maybe Sophia will sniff hospital smell and try to do me out of my homebirth plan

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 09:21

Ooh I had to poop 5 times yesterday too - 5!!

Bet it's nothing though, I'm not exactly off my food either...although I never did go off my food last time fondly remembers sitting there eating bright pink dohnuts with sprinkles as they induced her and then one right after with her cup of tea...

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 10:11

Resisted phoning the hospital yesterday and went to bed instead. Managed to sleep after a while. Woke up at six with an upset tummy and stomach ache. Went to the loo and then back to bed and slept for another four hours. Now feeling okay again.
Think Boo is trying to torment me...
By the way, whats this about going off food? Is that a sign of impending labour?? If so, I've been waiting for two weeks!

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 10:16

The no eating can be a sign... I think all our boos are trying to drive us mad! I'm pooping away again today and feeling decidedly sick... although that might be nerves about my dreaded bloods... right anyway I am going now!

Good luck Elf, I wonder if you or JM or MP will be the next... oohh

BigBumpBonnie · 26/09/2005 10:41

OMG....Alterego, congratulations Someone needs to start stats!! Can't believe these babies are coming already. PLEASE let mine come soon! NM2B will prob be next. I'm off to eat some pineapple. 39 weeks this week and counting....

jai38 · 26/09/2005 11:32

This is scary thread now, I am reading it thinking oh my god some of you are so close (I think I had not realised that Ocotber was 31 days!!! ) and thinking why do I have so long to wait and then someone goes and gives birht - so now don't know what to think. Stuck between wishing bubs would hurry up and pop out and stay excatly where it is!

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 11:42

I wasn't counting NM2B, she's probably just NM already now!

I'm not due till the 23rd... Jai, pleeeease will you be hanging around till almost November too so we can chat? Lol!

I'm I just trudged the 30 min walk (and back of course) to the hospital to go to the blood test clinic because my GP mw couldn't be arsed to do it last time (it was already late mind, this was meant to be my 30 week iron test!) and the blood test clinic at the hospital doesn't do pregnant women! FFS! Firstly why the hell didn't the mw know that and secondly why the hell don't they?! Stupid people!!! I got all scared and shivery and everything waiting there and then that happened... herrrummph!

Flumps around the house for the rest of day

Lexie100 · 26/09/2005 11:45

I have visitors for the weekend and don't get a chance to chat and such exciting things happen

Had sex !!!!!!! twice and the most amazing BH i have ever had all day saturday. Eating pinapple today while supping resperry leaf tea. I have also gone off food!!!! Ohhh so many signs. Every twinge i now think is this it!!!! Probably be ages though

Managed to paint my toe nails just in case. Shaving legs is beyond me.

Moomin · 26/09/2005 11:52

hey guess wot? have got internet access on my bedside consol! am typing on keyboard the size of a grain of rice tho, with my big sausagey fingers so posts wont be too long! am in big room on my own as i am 'long timer' hurrah!

congrats to alterego fab news!

will try to keep up with all the news. ttfn x

jai38 · 26/09/2005 11:54

don't worry fs I am sticking around.

My midwife won't bother trying to take bloods any more as she ifnds it impossible so I have to go to the hospital everytime - up one very steep hill.

I am off to make lunch for him now (the pleasures of working together) then off to do the banking in town for my daily constitutional. Mad aim to help baby drop as hurting too much at top now

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 11:57

We all seem to be having promising signs!

Just back from toddlers with Jess and got my wish - we did the hokey cokey again, and true to form, twinges have started up again!

Jess has just gone for a sleep, so i might try and rest - if not, DH is home at 1.30pm so he can take over then!

Still off my food.... managed half a slice of toast this morning!

All the girls at toddlers are getting really excited and want this baby out more than me!

Elf1981 · 26/09/2005 12:49

Is it okay to be off food?! I've had three pringles today and am about to force myself to have something to eat like soup or something. Just hoping that baby isn't going to dig their heals in and say "I'm not coming out unless you give me a big dinner"!

Ohhh, Moomin, at least theres internet access and your own room - little things can make a big difference.

Just sitting here trying to come up with a list of logical questions to ask the hospital tomorrow about my section. So far the most important one I have is "can I wear my contact lenses" as I want to see my baby when they are out!!

And Gawd isn't daytime telly rubbish?! Spent the last two hours flicking between the music channels. Cant go out at the mo as my aunt is supposed to be coming up, so house bound grrr. Tomorrow I'm going off to M&S to buy myself something to cheer me up before going to hospital so wont have to endure car booty and stuff like that! I do like 4:00 each day though when I can watch re-runs of the X Files on FX!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 12:52

Elf.... apparently going off your food is normal in the run up to labour.... ive managed half a slice of toast today and thats it - and to be honest, ive eaten bugger all since friday!

Babe doesnt seem to care much at the moment - still very active and these twinges had better be doing some good down there! May have to ask MW on wednesday if she will jsut check me over if bubs has decdided to stay put by then!

YOKEFLEET · 26/09/2005 12:59

Moomin - good to see that you are still around!!
Alterego - Congratulations on the birth of your little boy.
FA - My old mw in Yorkshire was forever giving out duff info
Well am now 39w and yesterday we tried the curry and sex.... but nada not even a twinge!! Maybe I should try the hokey cokey too!!! Any other suggestions ladies??? (I can't stomach pineapple though!!)

Redtartanlass · 26/09/2005 13:11

Moomin ? Brilliant to hear from you, thinking of you and NM2B all day. Anyone head from NM?

I?ve been off my food for a week and have had a bad tummy for 2 weeks, last week before the mw sent me to hospital, she reckoned baby would be here very soon. However there is no way my getting my hopes up, as I know how severly cheesed off I was when ds2 was late. AND loads loads of ulcers from eating 20 million pineapples

Mind you, J&Bmum and elf sound very close

NM2B will be number 4 who?s gonna be 5????

2 weeks left at work, so wold loooooooove bubs to come now.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 13:21

Not long now.... we must keep telling ourselves that!

The last few weeks are the wrost though arent they!

In absolute agony now, and cant get comfortable, so roll on DH getting home - jsut phoned him and he said he would be leaving in a few minutes so be here by 1.45pm.

Jess still sleeping and like hell am i gonna get her up before DH gets home..... ill wait til he's walking in the back gate and run upstairs and get her!!

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 13:24

I'm so off to do the hokey cokey while eating pineapple chunks! I had to force myself to make lunch and eat it, managed my usual large amount but had to really force it in there.... hope I don't feel like this for 4 more weeks!

Hi Moomin! Yay at least you have something to do (even if it is sitting on the net...ugh!) and a room to yourself

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 13:24

Aww JM I hope it's the real thing..

I'm again now!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 13:25

FA.... at least you can eat pineapple! Cant stand the stuff myself, and cant eat hot spicy foods because of my bowel problems, so im pretty much landed with sex and the hokey cokey!

fastasleep · 26/09/2005 13:27

pineapple's vile... I don't care... I'm fed up!

I may be sick though, especially if I eat it and dance around at the same time!

You had a show and everything

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 26/09/2005 13:28

well i dont know if it was a show or not.... just a tiny bit of pinky gooey stuff - but i did have sex..... so not sure of maybe DH was a bit rough?!

SusiS · 26/09/2005 13:32

omg ladies! so many signs now - getting exciting

been to see consultant today and got a sweep; well, she couldn't really do much - said it is already quite soft but not open just yet so she couldn't stretch it
got another one lined up for wednesday though
and then i'll be going in again on monday which will make me edd+1 - if nothing happened by then they might even talk of a c section!!!
still a week to go

i am off food too - well, got such a bad heartburn i don't want to eat anything really!!
but i heard that going off food and emptying everything can be a sign

woheyyyy moomin, great that you've got internet and a room on your own!! at least you'll get the rest you need

BigBumpBonnie · 26/09/2005 13:36

I'm not off food Must mean I've got ages to go
