That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

Medee · 09/11/2010 16:31

well done, Moo at the ass-kicking.

We've just rejigged the spare room a bit leaving more room for a cot and not requiring the computer to be removed, so happier at that. Still an issue when we have the spare bed as a double, but we've a year or so to really worry about that, and maybe by then we'll think about moving.

ooh, extra-sour haribo you say? They must have passed me by. I do still have a crate of Swizzels Matlow I am working my way through though.

rollerbaby · 09/11/2010 16:37

Oh polly what a headfuck. If they did drop to what you are paying now, would that make a difference? Why don't they put their family wiht baby in their I wonder?

cossy FESH bags are packed with extra stinking cheese and potted shrimp. I'll try and bring a case of wine with me too. And some sloe gin.

Cramps are starting up... don't dare to believe it...

PollyPoo · 09/11/2010 16:52

I am officially not thinking about it Moo. La la la. I think the house is way too big for a couple and a baby. TBH, it is bigger than we need too. It has 4 beds, a massive office, an enormous lounge and a hooooge kitchen diner (with rayburn!!) Plus a bathroom and two shower rooms and two staircases. It really is my kind of house. Wink I'm not sure they do want their family in our place, I just thought it might fit seeing as they seem so desperate to get us out Hmm

Yay for the cramps! I am really hoping it starts soon for you Moo. The waiting does get very tiresome.

Cosmosis · 09/11/2010 17:16

ooh cramps is goooooood

I really feel for you, I well remember how being vv overdue felt.

Casserole · 09/11/2010 17:42

Just stopping by to send Honeymoney all the good labour vibes and wishes in the world in case this really IS it! You will do grand Grin

Scorpette · 09/11/2010 18:35

You stay put, Pollypocket. It's not your job to move at the landlord's beck and call just because they want a house filled Hmm

Moo, cramps are a good sign (who thought a few years ago they'd ever write such a sentence?!). I hope when you're finally back home with your baybee that you'll be able to get the new PESH tv channel I'm setting up: as well as PESH Watch and Watch PESH (our flagship shows), all the adverts are for fast food places and comfy footwear, programmes include documentaries on obese Americans to make us all feel better, The Ginger Smashing Show (where differds blow up ginger biscuits with anti-tank missiles, etc., whilst do-gooders are kept in a cage where hyperemesis sufferers projectile vomit over them hourly), Sexy Naked Men Talk About How Hot Preggos Are, lots of costume dramas, loads of repeats of stuff like Supernanny so we can feel superior, a call-in show where pregnant women can ring in and rant about everything that winds them up and they're told they are entirely rational and justified, etc., etc. Sound good? Grin

Oh yeah, and the test card for the channel will be a screen shot of Mardy Joy BESH (from that ch4 Life Begins series on earlier this year) finally seeing her baby during her cs after over 10 years of ttc and AC :) God, I'm welling up just thinking about her!

rocketleaf · 09/11/2010 19:29

BESHTV sounds genius scorps

Practical question, I need to buy new bras, these ones are getting really uncomfortable. Question is should I buy breast feeding ones now or just buy a few bigger sizes and get those later on? I have no idea if my boobs are going to just keep getting bigger and don't want to spend a lot of money only to have to buy more in a months time. Or should I hold out for a bit longer? Plus seem to remember something was mentioned for or against underwires, what's the script on that please Oh wise PESH.

moo I 2nd the jumping MrMoo and avoiding 2nd sweep shens.

pol stick to your guns re the house move, gut feelings are normally the correct ones.

Scorpette · 09/11/2010 19:43

Yes, I need bra advice too. Am rapidly turning into Chesty Morgan Grin

(Anyone? Anyone?)

Medee · 09/11/2010 19:49

I've not moved on to new bras yet, but you can keep wearing underwires for a while yet I should think. Certainly I plan just to get a couple slightly bigger normal bras, before moving onto maternity bras.

rocketleaf · 09/11/2010 20:03

Yeah I am thinking that medee Then hopefully I will be able to use them when I stop breast feeding.

So what's with the underwires? Is it just a comfort thing or is there some esoteric differs reason why they are bad? TBH I think mine might be why I am finding mine so uncomfortable, they are proper digging in.

In further adventures of baby brain I managed to knowingly put my only comfortable white bra in a dark wash with 2 pairs of dark jeans. FFS.

Orchid12 · 09/11/2010 20:13

Rocket when I ws PG with MiniO, I bought a couple of cheap, normal, non wired bras from M&S in a size or two bigger around the stage you are now. They lasted me a few months before I needed bigger ones again. I only bought feeding bras once Mini O was here, partly because I felt wierd wearing feeding bras whilst not feeding, and partly because people told me my boozerkers would get bigger still once the milk came in.

I think the reason behind non wired is something to do with the developing milk ducts. If you have an ill fitting underwired bra, it can stop some of the milk ducts developing properly (or something like that I seem to remember!).

rocketleaf · 09/11/2010 20:19

Thanks orchid Thats good advice. Think I will miss the underwire shape but feck it I look like a lump already so spose I will just have to get used to it. You know TB has started saying on all questions of diffment "have you asked the hags?" :o

At a launch next week in the lakes, it should be good but there is a boat ride on the lake in the afternoon (already being referred to as the 'booze cruise') I am sooo going to use differs sickness as an excuse not to go and avail myself of the spa facilities in the hotel instead. Result.

OkieCokie · 09/11/2010 20:22

The under wired bras if ill fitting can damage milk ducts or something so they advise non wired to preggos. I just bought feeding ones so they could do for pre and post natal and I would get more wear out of them.

I am hoping baybee will come tomorrow now as the in laws have decided to come for dinner and I frankly can not be arsed even though they have offered to bring the grub. I am not the most sociable person in the evenings and tend to just want to have a bath and go to bed (although than on Mondays and Wednesday when TV viewing at 9.00pm generally means I stay up beyond my usual turn in time)

I have appt with hossie too tomorrow Moo and I am sure they will offer a sweep again. I was planning to say no but with the threat of the in laws coming maybe I will agree. Glad you got your money back from mardy cow in Pretty Preggers. A win for the consumer methinks! And I really like the idea of ESH TV. I reckon we have a fair amount of material to go with.

rocketleaf · 09/11/2010 20:37

ah bath and bed, what a good idea. Hope you manage to swerve the in-laws buy laying a baby instead :o

One person who would be banned from ESH TV is that Natalie Cassidy. Am I the only one who finds it very annoying that she seems to think she deserves a medal (IE: a tv show) for doing something that women have been doing, erm since the dawn of humanity? Hmm

PrincessBoo · 09/11/2010 21:26

Hello PESHes. Look at these :)

PrincessBoo · 09/11/2010 21:27

I'm not sure about the porn star names for them all but they are damn pretty for nursing / mat bras, which are normally boring boring boring.

PrincessBoo · 09/11/2010 21:29

Not so sure about the knickers though - are they stuck on with sellotape at the back to keep them up? :o

PerfectDromedary · 09/11/2010 21:42

Has Honey sneezed?

Bras: I reluctantly gave up my underwires a couple of weeks ago and was advised to buy a couple of non-wired bras in a comfy size and not to buy feeding bras until week 37ish. However, have found that I'm living in secret support vest tops - but am not that bountifully blessed with norkage even while pregnant.

Scorpette · 09/11/2010 22:04

I bought a non-wired bra a few weeks back but it is really painful, makes my nips itch for some reason and digs in my sides worse than an underwired (is not too small at all, just that it hurts) and it makes me look like I have tits like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=futurama.sk/pictures/bender_eyes.jpg&imgrefurl=peb.pl/grafika-i-fotografia/616583-poszukuje-rysownika.html&usg=__4mO0wF3nU59hwIGGv7QcU0bqKIg=&h=640&w=498&sz=80&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=Q9NqX8PMjhBlUM:&tbnh=119&tbnw=92&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbender%2527s%2Beyes%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D535%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=151&ei=g8LZTOnmJoGLhQeZ54nQAg&oei=g8LZTOnmJoGLhQeZ54nQAg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0&tx=54&ty=39" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Bender's eyes Hmm

I hate lace. It itches my tits off. WHY do they use lace for maternity/nursing bras when your boobs are at their most sensitive? Is it to make you feel more 'feminine'? Because trying to surreptitiously scratch your tits on a crowded bus is hardly the height of ladylike sophistication Angry

I fucking hate padded and moulded bras too. They look like the bottom of egg boxes. I hate what they make breasts look like too. Why are all bras padded nowadays? Why are maternity bras all lace or padded? FFS! I'm off for a hormonal bra-based killing spree! Angry

PS Someone should be executed for those Hot Milk bra names - 'Awakened by her desire'?!?!?! Awakened by her desire to what: fart like a dying hippo? Eat her own bodyweight in Percy Pigs? Chin the next cunt that suggests ginger will cure morning sickness? What about: hunt down the copywriter who comes up with this shit and cut off his knackers with a rusty penknife, fry them and make him eat them?

Muser · 09/11/2010 22:13

Bravado Bodysilk Scorps. No lace, they have removable padding that you can have in if you are worried about nips poking out, or take out if you don't want. V.comfy. Not hideous shape.

OP posts:
PrincessBoo · 09/11/2010 22:25

All my maternity bras were dreadful M&S ones that didn't fit properly.

When I went back to work after Mat leave and still couldn't wear wires I bought a Doreen bra. Looked hideous - felt wondrous. Do they do a Maternity bra?

PrincessBoo · 09/11/2010 22:26

oh and sorry I keep using a capital M for maternity. I really am off now, I promise!

Scorpette · 09/11/2010 23:45

Cheers for all bra suggestions, laydeez :) I like the look of the Bravado ones especially. I was going to get some M&S ones, but Boo doesn't rate 'em. Will still go and try some on, mind.

It's all quiet on the Honeymoo front...

rocketleaf · 10/11/2010 07:07

I find M&S bras rubbish in general, and they are hopeless at measuring too, (although this may be just my one) I am going to Debenhams as their own brand stuff is generally better but similar in price to M&S, they do nice plain bras in larger cup sizes sizes (instead of anything over a DD looking like its from the 50s) and the ladies who work in the bra dept actually know what they are on about.

AlpinePony · 10/11/2010 08:55

polly Here's one for you: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1080159-in-thinking-that-lots-of-you-must-have-had-surprise-pregnancies-which-were-actually-secretly-deliberate

There is absolutely no reason why you should abandon underwired bras during pregnancy.
