That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

We had venison casserole from the freezer with mashed potato - just the thing on a cold night. The baby seemed to approve too.

That sounds a lovely walk home, Scorps.

I had to kind of abandon my car outside, as I drove it backwards and forwards for ages, but kept grinding up and down the snow, so MrM fixed it for me when he came home :)

I'd love to be finishing work sooner than the end of Feb (and it may well happen anyway as I am contract) but could do with staying on for financial reasons, plus I would probably be bored.

Scorpette · 30/11/2010 20:55

Sounds scary, Medee, glad you managed to basically got home. We've just been worriedly watching buses struggle to get up the hill. Think TYF might be 'forced' to have the day off work tomorrowGrin This does mean, however, that he will want to watch the Willy Fogg dvd my brother bought me for my birthday. Yes, Willy Fogg. I am 38. I was not amused - he knows I prefer Mysterious Cities of Gold

Muse, on what channel is this classy baby shower? Am intrigued (we've got Freeview - bet it'll be some channel we don't get).

Muser · 30/11/2010 20:57

Oh it was some awful Sky one, Home & Health or something like that.

Venison casserole sounds delicious. My cottage pie was very tasty and there's just enough for my lunch tomorrow. Yum.

Scorpette · 30/11/2010 21:17

God, I wish we could get quality crappy channels on Freeview (iykwim).

ChoChoSan · 30/11/2010 21:26

You lot are such a bunch of fuckers! I have had a shit day with sciatica, mild SPD, work stress, and had to come to bed at 8:45 because I was being driven nuts by restless legs...made worse by being unable to fault the Boyf for laughing at me because I burst into tears 'because my legs are all tickly'. My only solace was to come on here and vent, and now I have got to be all nice, bah humbug! Grin

Well, one thing I would say, is that all of the above would be tolerable if I had started ML...(note the goal here being ML, not baybee...keep your eyes on the prize girlfriends!)

PollyPoo · 30/11/2010 21:52

Well if you will insist on wearing ridiculous spikey heels Cho... How long until mat leave starts?

And don't try being nice. I like the black-hearted black-humoured Cho best. Wink

Seriously though, I am sorry to hear about nasty back and pelvis pain, you have my sympathies. How about a pint of sambuca and chinese burn to take your mind off it?

CluckyKate · 30/11/2010 21:54

ML can't be too far off tho Cho - you iz getting close to the top of the list!!!

Had 30 week check-up today - BP normal, bump size normal, wee normal, baby's HR normal, iron levels normal. in and out in about 5 minutes. Dull, dull, dull Wink

Scorpette · 30/11/2010 21:57

You've got to be all nice, Cho? Why break the habit of a lifetime, etc., etc. Wink Grin

Restless legs is a fucker of a condition. I had it for years but it's miraculously gone with pg (a rare health silver lining!) When do you start ML?

Scorpette · 30/11/2010 21:59

Not dull, MotherClucker - FAB! :)

PollyPoo · 30/11/2010 22:00

Dull is good when it comes to MW visits Clucky! I like dull.

I had 37 week check up today, BP the same, all other stuff good, although possibility of thrush infection. Nice! Fingers crossed, all still good for homebirth. Smile

ChoChoSan · 30/11/2010 22:06

Spiky heels make rare show these days Polpette, flats all round at work now, and couldn't even be bothered changing out of Nikes last week!

Not sure about ML yet...we shut down for two weeks over Xmas, so I might be rested enough to cram another coupla weeks of work in until week 37/38, but I am beginning to seize up now and waking often in the night, so we will see!

31 weeks now Clucky!

Medee · 30/11/2010 22:15

Hello Cho, sorry to hear about your woes.

Scorps I am still aggrieved about the interschool quiz rival team who got the point for answering "Willie Fogg" when I knew fine well the actual answer was Phileas Fogg.

Medee · 30/11/2010 22:16

Keeping fingers crossed for HB, PollyParrot

WTEWYE has diagnosed my bump-side pain as being "round ligament pain" - nothing to worry about on its own apparently.

Medee · 30/11/2010 22:16

ooh, look at that number of posts - need to start thinking about the list again.

LadyGoneGaga · 30/11/2010 22:19

Mmmm, venison casserole. I made Beef Chilli. Warming. Only a bit of snow here. Boo. Have to visit family in the homeland at weekend though so hopefully plenty there.

Scorpette · 30/11/2010 23:00

LadyGG, you're the latest addition to the Deli, I think. Wanna do the honours with the new fred (if that's okay with everyone else)? Come up with a good line for yourself, too :)

Medee, these things cut keen. I lost a point in the school book quiz for correctly asserting that the last in the Heidi series were not written by Johanna Spyri. But I haven't held a grudge or anything. Grin BTW, good news it's 'just' RLP.

Poo, keep up the good work, hope the thrush suspicions come to naught

A propos of nothing, if I see that fucking Amanda Holden Xmas Tesco advert one more time I will not be responsible for my actions. Angry

SilverSky · 01/12/2010 00:14

Tis official GaGa is Hilarious.

AlpinePony · 01/12/2010 05:24

medee The rug will may be fine for years to come. I have a white sofa - Bear's not touched it, I've thrown a cup of coffee over it though in my sleep-deprived state. But who cares? We all know what we're getting in to in this game. If you want a white rug, enjoy it. Even if the baby doesn't destroy it in about 4 years you'll be hearing "mummy, canni havva puppy?" 500 times a day. At which point I think you should say yes and then let them run up and down Benachie 5 times a day - although could also prove useful for weaning.

Pol I've always found you acutely observant and very funny and I hope you're feeling better because the whole gammy leg around Tesco thing was just too vivid a mental image! Grin

laurielou · 01/12/2010 08:20

Its Chrrrriiiisssttmaaaaaas!

OK, so its not quite, but I do get a leetle bit excited at this time of the year.

So, pull up a chair by the fire, put on your manky Nana Christmas jumpers, help yourself to a Snowball (glace cherry optional) & lets all sing some carols.

laurielou · 01/12/2010 08:23

I'm starting to look around my death trap of a home & thinking about baby proofing. I think it'll just be easier to house proof the baby. I'm going to have to learn to relax a bit - if Mr Loz leaves his shoes in the hallway my teeth start to itch.

AlpinePony · 01/12/2010 09:01

laurie Bear is only just getting to not being where I left him at 5 months. So you've got a bit of time yet! Wink

rocketleaf · 01/12/2010 09:04

Me too loz have been thinking about all the dangerous cleaning products under the sink. and the bikes in the dining room, imagining a squashed toddler under a pile of spokes.

SilverSky · 01/12/2010 09:14

Los live with HI and you will soon get over the shoes thing cos HI leaves about ten pairs in various locations. Drives me frigging insane. Have given up keeping on top of it!

AlpinePony · 01/12/2010 09:17

Given okie's "poo in a shoe" tale from yesterday, I'm sure things will reach a natural conclusion laurie - i.e., he'll start throwing putting them away.

laurielou · 01/12/2010 09:54

Think I may positively encourage babyLoz to dump in his shoe - teach him a lesson.

That reminds me, we were dog sitting for his dad once, & the dog was obviously a little put out at having been deserted for a whole weekend. To illustrate this distress she crapped on the kitchen floor overnight. Mr Loz got up in the morning to lovingly make me breakfast in bed & stepped barefoot into the poo, which squelched up between his toes Grin
