Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks Mel - hope you are okay this morning, sending you a big hug.

Star - good luck for your scan today.

Am feeling horrendous again. Had 2 coaching sessions with 2 of my agents last night, managed to hold it together but felt very sick while I was talking on the phone, when I ended the calls had to rush to the toilet to throw up after both of them.

My head is aching badly and I've been really sick again this morning. I have another coaching session, plus a big team member induction, and another coaching session this afternoon, so will have nap in between.
But don't want to cancel anything as I need the work!

Good news is I will move to my new role beginning of September.

sasamaxx · 06/11/2010 10:11

petitech - maybe we really are just easing out of the horrendous time slowly...hope so anyway.

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish today Kara

Off to the odeon this morning - both me and DH bringing both the kids to see toy story at 11am - £10 in total. Brilliant deal - they do kids films at most odeons on weekend mornings for this cheapness. They are premier seats too Grin - should be good fun.

10 weeks today - really glad to be into double figures.

catherineps · 06/11/2010 10:44

Morning everyone.

I am really sorry there has been so much bad news lately - my thoughts are with you mell and Issy and star

Let's hope we get some good news soon . . .

broughthimroundtotheidea · 06/11/2010 11:39

Hi Ladies, doesn't look like good news coming from me im afraid. Bleeding heavier now and cramping. Took myself sobbing to the out of hours doctor today who basically said I'm sorry but you can't have a scan or second blood test because it is a weekend and you don't look like you are suffering enough. Not in those words tho.
Maybe you others can take comfort from statistics I reckon we have had our one in four in this group now :(
Good luck to you all xx

Broughthimround I can't believe it, what a horrible time for you. Is your local EPU open on weekends, or is there anywhere else you can go for a 2nd opinion? Either way, please be kind to yourself this weekend, I hope you have lots of support in RL. I'm sending you a virtual hug now.

Melltobe your post, coupled with broughthimround's, has left me in tears, I so wish things could be different for all of us who've had bad news over the last couple of weeks, and I can't believe how strong you have all been.

No news here, except feeling very, very sick, more than I have before with ds. I haven't been sick yet, but wish I could in a way, may feel better! Sad

catherineps · 06/11/2010 12:47

I'm really sorry broughthimaround, I hope my post wasn't unhelpful :( What a horrible time. I hope you can find someone more helpful than that GP to look after you.

broughthimroundtotheidea · 06/11/2010 13:12

I was supposed to be having my booking in tomorrow with midwife, and I am still going and not leaving the place til they give me either a scan or a second blood test. Our epu isnt at the local hospital, and isn't open weekends. The out of hours did call down to gynea it was them that said no! Should have lied and said I felt dizzy and sick in hindsight, not that it will change the eventual outcome.
Just feeling so thankful for the 2 beautiful kids I already have, this must be alot worse for first time mums to be, don't actually know how they cope.
Thanks for all the well wishes and hugs xx

Really sorry to hear that news broughthimround what a horrible few days for a few of you on this thread.

Big hugs to everyone. Scary times.

8rubberduckies · 06/11/2010 13:59

Glad you've got your booking-in appt tomorrow broughthimround, hopefully your midwife will be more sympathetic.

bananarama05 · 06/11/2010 14:15

Can I come and say hello please? Smile

I'm (by my own dates) 10 weeks today and due early June with my 1st pg but will wait for my scan to confirm dates!

We haven't really told anyone yet. One of my close friends at work guessed as knew we were trying and I'd had a few doctors appointments and I told my line manager this week as was getting some pains and MW told me to get myself to my GP and felt bad saying i was off to another doc appointment - I normally probably only go once every 2 years or so!

So this is my place to lurk, read, vent, rant, share the good bits and the bad for the time being, hope that's ok!

Hi everyone. Another really sad time, I'm so sorry to hear everyone's bad news.

broughthimroundtotgeidea I just wanted to say don't give up hope yet. I've had 2 episodes if very heavy bleeding and so far and baby is still there and doing well. I can't remember if you've had a scan yet. I'm so sorry that you've been treated so badly by the 'professionals'. I would recommend you take it really easy until you can get a scan (know easier said than done if you already have children). Can you get some time in bed? I was told no baths, sex (appreciate it's the last thing on your mind now!) or lifting. Really hope you get a scan soon so that you have some idea of what's going on.

Mummynumber2 · 06/11/2010 14:35

Hello banana. You're definitely in the right place for all of that!

argylesocks · 06/11/2010 14:53

Hey I finally found the thread!

I should be due June 1st or 2nd but seeing as how I still haven't had a scan I really have no idea.

I haven't had any cramps or bleeding and have had pretty mild constant symptoms so I'm hoping things are OK but the thought that you just don't know is terrifying.

1st timer here so I don't know what to expect. My sister was horribly sick through her pg but I feel mildly crappy/ really tired but nothing serious.

Good luck to everyone in the 12-week wait. Hopefully after that we can all breathe a bit easier. 16 days to go!

Oh... one question! Grin In the first few weeks I had to pee constantly. That's kind of gone away and now i'm just peeing a little more than usual. Is that normal or should the 'really have to pee' feeling last more than a few weeks? It seemed odd that it went away.

sasamaxx · 06/11/2010 14:55

broughthimroundtotheidea - with any luck, the midwife tomorrow will be able to get you a quick appt at the EPU - really hope it's good news.

Welcome to the group banana

Well it's 'pregnancy-hormones-r-us' here today since I spent much of toy story 3 in tears. At the bit at the end I was in absolute floods - very embarrassing when the lights came up Blush

8rubberduckies · 06/11/2010 15:01

Congratulations banana and argylesocks, and welcome to the busiest thread on Mumsnet Grin.

Argylesocks I'm not quite at your stage yet (7 weeks), so still peeing a lot, but I remember hearing when pg with ds1 that when you start showing the pressure is off your bladder a bit as everything pops up out of the pelvic cavity, so maybe this is what you're experiencing, albeit a bit early. You'll be glad to hear that the urge to wee returns when things start getting really cosy in there towards the end though, I remember weeing about a thimbles-worth what felt like every 10 minutes in the last few weeks Wink.

takethatlady · 06/11/2010 15:05

Really really sorry for broughthimround but as others have said, don't lose heart. Good luck getting the scan today.

Welcome banana :)

Grin at sasamaxx bawling at Toy Story Grin. Don't think you're alone there - I cry at adverts and all sorts at the moment.

Quick question: have been constipated for a week. Just went to the pharmacy who gave me 'Fybogel Hi-Fibre Orange'. Has anyone tried this? The pharmacist said it's safe but I just wanted to check with others before I go for it. No word about pregnancy on any of the packaging.

Thanks!

sasamaxx · 06/11/2010 15:16

argylesocks - welcome!

takethatlady - unbelievable - I seem to cry at anything.
As far as I know, fybogel is just a fibry bulky food-type substitute - not a med as such, and I'm sure it's absolutely fine as my mum took them for years and years - and she had 10 children so must have been pregnant while taking them several times.
When you mix with water, drink immediately - and I do mean IMMEDIATELY because it starts to become a gel right there in the cup and you really won't want to swallow it then. It's fine before it does this Smile

sasamaxx · 06/11/2010 15:16

NOT substitute - SUPPLEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8rubberduckies · 06/11/2010 15:42

I had very bad constipation after having ds, and used Lactulose when I was breastfeeding, it is safe for use in pregnancy too, and you can get it over the counter.

Sarahmumtobe · 06/11/2010 16:39

broughthimroundtotheidea I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. I hope the midwife is kinder to you and that you get your scan. It seems that antenatal care is so inconsistent between areas.

Sarahmumtobe · 06/11/2010 16:41

Also welcome banana and argylesocks.I'm also a first timer and finding this forum really helpful support. Congratulations!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 06/11/2010 19:15

Broughthim around, so sorry about your visit to the GP, how horrible for you.
I hope it all turns out okay for you.

Welcome Banana!

Argyle- yeah I have had periods where I wee constantly.

Takethatlady, I recommend the lactulose, I had that when I got constipated during late pg last time around. That and gaviscon for the heartburn! Soon as I get my maternity exemption card I'm off to the GP to get both!
