Gosh - so much to catch up on as usual but too tired - will try to read through all this somorrow.
Know what you mean moomin and how can you tell if you're listening to the baby's heart beat or the pulse from the placenta?

Sarahmumtobe · 16/11/2010 08:41

Hi everyone, I've not posted for a while. Had a busy week at work last week and so spent the weekend trying to de-stress as much as possible so went back to my parents!
So much to catch up on, but so sorry yellowtomato I'll miss you posting, and take care. banana so sorry to hear of your nan.
nursesunshine really thinking of you-I def agree with the other posts here it sounds like you are better off without him if he is going to act that way.
I had my bloods done yesterday and got my scan date for 27th Nov. I'm having the combined nuchal translucency and blood test for assessing risk of Downs.
Still feeling sick on and off although had a window yesterday when felt fine and ended up spending far too much at Asda!

knackered76 · 16/11/2010 08:56

Morning all,

a quick fly by post as dh is taking the children to school this morning so I can sneak on before he takes the computer up for work! Have my scan this afternoon and feeling a combination of excited, nervous, worried and dread . .. what a fun filled few hours I'm going to have this morning!

Good luck to all of those who also have scans this today, fingers crossed for jumping beans :)

sasamaxx - it's really clear the difference once you've heard it. The heartbeat is really fast and the the pulse is the same as yours so much slower. Would avoid for the moment though, in a moment of madness I used mine this morning and could find nothing (not unusual at 11wks) so have now sent myself into that blackhole of doubt!

BarbieLovesKen · 16/11/2010 10:34

Hope everyone is well today.

Just a quick post from me too as am out to visit my granny etc..

NurseSunshine, am worried about you. How are you feeling today? you are definately not too negative to stay around here - thats the point of this thread. Please come back and have a moan if you need to. Am thinking of you.

Will be back later.

Good luck Knackered and Leroy for their scans this afternoon.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 16/11/2010 11:55

Hugs on offer here. Partly because I think some of you need them and partly because I need one.

Hope everyone's scans go well, I am actually counting the days (8) like a kid to mine!

Hope you are OK nomorechoc?

Dragging myself out of the house today for my 1st ever leg wax, I have always shaved as I couldn't bear to grow the hairs long enough to wax but seeing as I have been a sickly recluse for 7 weeks now they are long enough so I am taking the plunge. It can't be in the same pain league as fanjo waxing can it? And I am used to that now..sorry TMI at lunchtime!

MoogHasNoBrain · 16/11/2010 12:16

Hi ladies,

I ahven't posted for a week or so but have been keeping up wiht everyone's news.

Nurse how are you getting on today? I really feel for you as this is NOT what you need when you are pregnant (or any time actually) I hope you're managing to stay positive.

Knackered and Leroy good luck with the scans!

Well I had my booking appointment with the midwife which was mostly bloods and form filling. I mentioned wanting a home birth and they are supportive of that which is great. I also have my scan date through which is in 3 weeks time. Seems ages away but at least I have a date which I know some of you are stil waiting for. Must be frustrating.

I am 9+2 today and only symptoms are indigestion and soor boobs!

Anyone else due around 19th June btw?

sasamaxx · 16/11/2010 12:21

Ah - thanks for explaining that knackered

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

Hope you're ok nursesunshine

Leroy - should be 11+1 but we will see!

knackered76 · 16/11/2010 13:04

supersunny - hooray Grin Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 16/11/2010 13:04

I'm mostly okay to be honest. Just the constant nausea, tiredness and not being able to eat much getting me down. I've now started craving foods I know I wouldn't actually be able to eat if I had them in front of me. I've lost weight too!

That's great news SupperSunny Grin

sasamaxx · 16/11/2010 13:08

Supersunnyday - that's fantastic!!! Grin

cep · 16/11/2010 13:50

wow 720 messages already.
sorry if i miss anyone.

Banana - sorry about your nan.

nurse - sorry about your xp hope you're ok. i'll copy everyone else and say that it sounds like you're better off. Glad your placement went ok.

supersunny - that's great news so pleased for you.

i had my booking in appointment today, and apparently it'll be the dates from the 12 week scan that'll change my dates, at this point i'm still from lmp so yeay i'm 10 weeks this coming friday rather then 9 tomorrow. I should rcv my scan date during next week or so. Plus cause i'm overweight i should get another 2 scans so i get a total of 4. even if i do have to deal with the consultant again.

Sarahmumtobe · 16/11/2010 14:06

Congratulations supersunny that's lovely news!!!! Good luck to Leroy and knackered. I cannot wait until my dating scan now!

Mummynumber2 · 16/11/2010 14:21

Yay, yay, yay supersunnyday! That's wonderful news! I couldn't and still can't stop looking at my scan picture and also never thought I'd be in a situation where I had a 'normal' pregnancy.

Good luck with scans people having them today.

nomore I know exactly how you feel re sickness and not being able to eat. Have you lost weight because of throwing up or not eating do you think? I've been having a lot of lucozade sport (the fizzy stuff has lots of caffeine in it) so sometimes just get calories from that. I would say just stick to what you can eat and don't worry too much about eating balanced meals. But yes, hug!

8rubberduckies · 16/11/2010 14:31

Congratulations Supersunny, great news!!! I can't wait to meet my bean!

Nurse going to a Citizens Advice Bureau is a good idea. I work as a debt adviser for an independent advice agency, we are a charity who do the same as a CAB. Benefits / students are not my area of specialism, but I know enough to know that you will definitely get loads of help once you've had the baby, it may be a bit sparse before you start your maternity leave period, but not non-existent. One thing I do know is that you should be able to go onto the social housing list as high priority as you are pregnant and unintentionally homeless, now that you can't afford to move into your new flat and have to move out of your exisitng accomodation soon.

If you don't get the full advice you need or want any further information please do not hesitate to private message me. If I don't know the answer offhand I have the resources here in the office to look it up or ask one of my colleagues.

I feel absolutely terrible today Sad. The ms is back with a vengeance; I can hardly concentrate on anything it is so bad, and am sooooo tired. I know I've been this tired in the past, having been pregnant before and had a newborn, but it doesn't feel like any tiredness I've ever experienced! I am very anxious and teary again, but seem to have that more under control than last week. Maybe I'm having triplets Confused! Nomorechoc I will take one of your hugs please, reckon it'll help both of us!

Supersunny that is so lovely to read! Bet you can't stop looking at the photo :)

8rd maybe you are having multiples?! Ooh how exciting! Sorry about the sickness though (& for you too nomorechoc), I would have had to go off sick if I had been working this pg, can you get a sick note if it gets too much? I can actually eat a few hot foods now so am hoping I am coming through the worst.

Glad you got your days back cep!

leroy more fool him for missing out on the scan, I hope you have a wonderful time seeing your baby on screen x
