Good lord 8rd that's terrible. Why on earth would she say that? Some people just don't think I guess. All I can say is try to ignore her. We know that mc's happen, it is desperately sad, but just because they do happen does not mean they're going to happen to us.

NurseSunshine · 11/11/2010 15:49

I also have pg related rage I think, as illustrated by the times I have ventured onto AIBU! I read a couple of posts on the thread you're talking about but am going to leave it there, what idiocy! I also don't feel qualified to comment and wouldn't want to acidentally offend or hurt anyone, though supersunny I'm sure you made some very good points.

Sorry everyone's worrying. I admit, everytime we have some horrible news on here it makes me worry anew, I keep thinking, I am young and healthy, have had no symptoms, but it doesn't really take away the worry. No-one else understands either, apart from other pg women.

takethatlady · 11/11/2010 16:07

You're right nursesunshine - at least we can all come on here and ask nutty pregnancy questions and nobody is insensitive.

Don't worry at all deepblue - you were so kind to me this morning. It was just what I needed! Sounds like supersunny is feeling like I was when I woke up. You should know supersunny that I woke up with no symptoms, felt totally well and not pregnant and had had a bad night's sleep with lots of worrying thrown in. Since then I found the percentages (1% mmc and most mc before 7 weeks) that knackered really helpfully put on here, and nearly threw up on the bus, and have boobs as sore as they've ever been. I also bought a preg test in Boots and did it in McDonalds while I was in town (Grin) and apparently I'm still preggo. Still going to do another one in a few days to check it's equally dark (some minds never rest).

Anyway, the upshot is we're all worrying, but every day we get closer to safety.

So so sad for yellowtomato

NurseSunshine · 11/11/2010 16:09

How many weeks are you takethat? Remember that HCG levels start to subside around 10 weeks (I think) so at this point you can have a negative test but still be pg. Which is why I don't want to do one atm. Well I do but if it said -ve I'd be distraught, possibly for no reason!

nursesunshine I'm only 7+4. Have my scan 2 weeks today and am just praying it's a sticky.

I know 2 weeks is not a long time, but I CAAAAN'T WAAAIIIT!

NurseSunshine · 11/11/2010 16:23

I've got two weeks as well. Am not only going to have bitten my nails to the quick by that time I shall probably have no fingers left!

Jealous supersunny!! Lucky you Grin

8rubberduckies · 11/11/2010 16:31

I haven't had a date through yet for my scan Sad

NurseSunshine · 11/11/2010 16:34

How many weeks are you 8rd? Was it you who was having trouble getting trhough to MW? Sorry I can't remember if it was or not.

takethatlady · 11/11/2010 16:36

It was me nursesunshine. She actually called me today to say I'm on the list to get a phone call over the weekend to book my appointment, so I have to wait until then! Hmm

Most confusing. But in my area you just ring the hospital and book your scan yourself, so I've already done it.

Lucky you supersunny!

8rubberduckies · 11/11/2010 16:39

No that wasn't me, I think it was Takethatlady? I am only 7+5, but docs think I am 9+5 because of a long cycle (I was charting so know when I conceived). They are going with their dates, I am going with mine, and we'll find out who's right at the dating scan Wink. I am not going to argue with them too loudly though, as I may get a date through for before 12 weeks this way Grin. Very impatient though and can't afford a private scan.

8rubberduckies · 11/11/2010 16:40

Cross post Smile

NurseSunshine · 11/11/2010 16:42

Oh that's good takethatlady, at least you haven't been forgotten anyway :)

Nice one 8rd if you end up "cheating" a little and getting an earlier one Grin I din't get my scan app till 10 weeks

mrsbigw · 11/11/2010 16:50

Hi all, I didn't want to post earlier but thought maybe its time now to share my good news. I had my 11wk MW appt today, she sorted my scan out for 24th Nov which I can just about wait for, but my good news is that I asked her to feel whether my uterus felt big for dates as it is much higher than at this stage of last 3 pg's. Anyway she said it is high measuring at about 14wks & she managed to find a heartbeat on the doppler & it was lovely to hear :).
everything feels very real now, I am wondering if my dates are correct but will have to wait to find out.
Hope this hasn't made anyone feel worse just wanted to show that there is light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

NurseSunshine · 11/11/2010 16:54

Oh wow that's amazing mrsbigw!! So pleased for you :) It must have been so good to hear your baby's heartbeat. Lovely news to read :)

yellowtomato · 11/11/2010 17:01

Thank you everyone for your kinds words and I am really sorry if my bad news has made any of you feel wobbly or stressed. The odds are in your favour, please try not to worry and I really hope that you all have scans and good news and lovely babies.

Of course I am feeling very sad right now but I still have my lovely DP who is being exceptionally lovely which makes me feel very lucky and loved. I am still young at 37(!) so will hopefully be lucky enough to have a successful pregnancy at some point.

It has been such a pleasure chatting to you ladies, I am very sorry to leave you and really wish you all the best

X

have just read the whole aibu thread. And i have to say i feel sorry for the woman. it was just a simple question which she got a load of serious abuse for. Don't get me wrong i obviously don't agree (as i had an early scan this time and know how much heart ache it can save.) it was a simple why do they? which was answered by incase it's an eptopic. But people started acusing her of saying it was a waste of resources and i don't remember anyone actually saying it was a waste. supersunnyday and mummynumber2 you both made very good points and weren't insulting to her either. I did find it very sad with everyone talking about their own experiences, still very raw for a lot of the people.

TTL so glad that your mw has finally made some sort of contact.

i feel oddly disappointed that my dates changed i know it sounds daft as it was only by 5 days but i should have turned 9 tomorrow butonly turned 8 yesterday now. feel oddly sad that i'm not as far as i thought, (does that make sense??)

takethatlady · 11/11/2010 17:39

Oh yellowtomato that's so lovely of you to say. Really really good luck for the future (whenever you're ready).

8rd I'm the same as you - the cycle I conceived on would have been 9 bloody weeks (usually they're 7 but it was post cp). So they think I'm over 12 weeks now and would have scanned me next week if DH hadn't had the nerve to go on a school trip, the bastard Grin

I love it how they just completely ignore you and go with their totally ridiculous method of LMP Grin. Especially as if you realis that in advance you can just lie. They'd rather believe a woman lying than a woman charting Grin. Nuts!

catherineps · 11/11/2010 18:32

That's wonderful mrsbigw :)

I am having the same problem as you had takethatlady - I think this mw has been on holiday (how inconsiderate!) and is now struggling to catch up with the back-log. Have been trying to ring for over 2 weeks now!

Have just been told that I have to write reports for my class BY MONDAY!!!!!!!!!! almost a good thing as I won't have time to worry about anything else.

thank you for a generous post yellowtomato - I'm so sorry.

cep · 11/11/2010 18:38

to add to my previous note about the aibu just talking to my dh about it and noticed the being expensive comment.

moomin156 · 11/11/2010 18:58

Oh yellowtomato i am so so sorry, i was thinking about you this morning and now feel truly devastated for you. Take care of your self xx

I again have no symptoms today and trying not to worry but on a positive note i have announced it to the world today even though i am only 9+4. Everyone was absolutely thrilled for me and have had so many lovely conversations. Thankfully not one of them gave me any horror stories and i now know they will support me what ever happens. For me i think it was the right decision, though i can completely understand while others will wait as long as possible.
