Num Num NoMore put me down for a massive glass of red wine and a lamb roast followed by a huge chunk of crumbly stilton Smile.

Sounds nasty in the South East Shock.

VeryHungryKatypillar · 09/11/2010 16:45

Now that has made me very hungry, despite the sickness bug DD has given me. My mouth is watering!

Humania · 09/11/2010 17:21

Congrats to all with lovely news today - it's really put a smile on my face Smile

Well update from me - all was well in my scan this afternoon... spot on for dates at 9+0 and a lovely strong heartbeat. yay! Such a huge relief.

Still thinking of those going through anxious times x

What a great lots of posts, so nice to see those reaching the milestone, having positive scans and dreaming about their little bubbas, it is starting to feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel!
10 weeks for me tomorrow, waiting on scan date but I'm having a private one if it doesn't come through soon but very much looking forward to breathing a big sigh of relief when I see the 12 week scan! Positive thoughts all the way......

I've been having some dreams about the baby, a breast feeding one the other night was great. Anyone else dreaming about the little ones?

clench you must live near me, I'm in Sidlesham and had that epic drive through the floods this morning, it did amaze me that some people in their little hatchbacks thought they could get through two foot of water! I turned back as things were a bit crazy, got to work eventually but it was a mammoth commute!

mrsbigw · 09/11/2010 17:40

Lovely to see some happy news on here. I don't want to jinx myself but the sickness is definately easing off this last week (I am 10+5 today) & I am very glad. Am not questioning the reasons why at all am just praying it keeps on getting better as I am managing food again & managing bits of housework etc. For all you girls suffering I hope things will improve for you too soon.
Sleeping terribly though, can't get comfy, am having random nightmares. Thinking of investing in a pg pillow already.
Was feeling really large but went on a US website 'I am pregnant' here where they have a bump photo gallery, dont know if you guys are as nosey as I am but I feel quite small now, think I am going to carry my baby weight on my arse again lol!

misshoohaa · 09/11/2010 17:50

Wow mrsb good post, I don't really think I'm showing, baby no 1 though....
Best not be too much as getting married at Xmas and I HAVE to get in my wedding dress!

Anyone else showing much?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 09/11/2010 18:03

It just occured to me that I'm 8+1 weeks! Am having a long weekend at the inlaws and am all out of wack with days of the week. Still thought I was 7 and a half!

No noticable bump but my lower tum is definately getting tighter and slightly fuller.

yellowtomato · 09/11/2010 18:26

Evening ladies

I am 8+3 today and have a bit of a belly, mostly noticeable in the evening after food so maybe more like bloating? Mind you on the link mrsb put up there were some showing at this stage, very interesting.

So great to hear all that good news today, really has cheered me up. Just hope I can continue the trend on Thurs.

So nobody wanted to get into a nipple discussion with me? Very curious to know what other people's nipples are doing as mine are not doing anything! Or am I being too nosy? Grin

knackered76 · 09/11/2010 18:30

Evening all!

Hooray for the happy news today :)Unlike others, 8rd you are just making me feel queasy! Never have understood the desire to eat mould on cheese Wink.

minione - I might remember this wrong but nuchal fold scans are meant to take place between 11+4 and 13+6. Hopefully you'll get another one if that's what you want. Definitely check!

Well I cracked and told a close friend today, although to date that is still only 2 friends and dh so I guess I'm doing quite well :) She has offered to come to the scan next week if dh can't which is really nice of her (last time she looked after the children when I went and discovered I'd mmc so hopefully this would be nicer for her!).

mrsb I am showing but have taken to wearing zip up tops so actually it doesn't show unless i take them off (which I haven't for the last few weeks!). Needed to go and get another on incase people began to question my hygiene!

Well off to get the children down and then maybe have a curry, hmmmmmmmm Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 09/11/2010 19:04

Curry? (Boak) Bit jealous that you can manage it though.

Yellowtom Nipples? Sore, dark and getting bigger. Did I mention sore? Was hoping to hold off a few weeks on the maternity bra front encase boobs get even bigger, but actually will be buying some as soon as we get home tomorrow.

Gillzz · 09/11/2010 19:16

Hi all,

haven't posted for a while but been reading up everyday!

10 weeks tom and def showing 2nd baby though, trousers and bras don't fit!! just ordered trouser and bra extenders from amazon!

scan 2 weeks on friday soo nervous!

mostly every1 knows i'm preg as can't hold my water although haven't told boss she works in office and i work outside so only speak on phone!
xx

NurseSunshine · 09/11/2010 19:39

Congratukations to all those with good news and sorry for those who've been flooded. Sorry about your sickness Katerpillar, hope you're not too miserable.

Yellowtom my nips are definately up to something. The actual nipple-y bits have got bigger and sort of more substantial lol but no change in colour and my boobs aren't sore or anything. They are, however, of gargantuan proportions and I only have one bra left that I can wear now :(

I'm feeling good today as I had my booking app with the MW who was lovely. Very nice and supportive (e.g. I was worried she'd try to put me off having a home birth etc but she was great). Gave me loads of info about sure start which I didn't really know about, apparently they do pg yoga and have a doula you can speak to about the more alternative side of things, and about home births.

I'm being referred to the maternity mental health team which I'm trying not to see as a negative thing. Fact is, I am more at risk for PND so I do need that support there just in case.

8Rubberduckies, good link! I think it's really important to remember your common sense during pregnancy! The department of health assumes women are idiots and don't know the difference between a friday night binge and a glass of wine with dinner twice a week! I also think it's really important not to get your info from newspapers (they publish stories to sell issues, not for the good of the nation!) or google (as you don't know if it's a wholly reputable source) but from actual scientific, peer reviewed research.

I'll be getting a nuchal fold measurement at my 12 wk scan and they will calculate my risk of Down's Syndrome, even though I'm young. Not sure what I would do if I got high risk so I'll just have to hope I don't.
Is anyone else having nuchal fold or amnio or anything?

NurseSunshine · 09/11/2010 19:42

PS I went through my wardrobe today and took out an astonishing amount of tops and things I can't fit into anymore, mostly due to extra boobage. I'm not really showing as such, I just look bloated all the time. Can't wait to have a real bump!

NurseSunshine · 09/11/2010 19:43

Going to do this with it :D

petitech · 09/11/2010 19:57

Hehe great link NurseSunshine.
We had a private scan on Sunday, I didn't want to post anything on here as it didn't seem appropriate with lots of sad news over the weekend but I see this week has seen some happier times.
Scan was absolutely amazing, the nurse kept asking me to lie back down cos I wanted to see the screen more closely!
Feel v relieved although conscious that still not the safer side of 12weeks yet. Have the NHS scan in 3 weeks time will be 13weeks then.
Regarding the nuchal tests, does anyone know what the advantage of having the nuchal scan is over the blood tests?
For example could you have the blood test and then if you show as high risk have the nuchal scan thereafter or does it not work like that? x

knackered76 · 09/11/2010 20:01

Love that picture nurse :) Might get mine done as a weeble, or possibly a gold fish bowl Grin

yellowtom would love to talk nipples with you Grin but all mine appear to be doing is standing to attention a lot more!

nursesunshine - yes I'm having a nuchal and hoping there are no decisions to be made!

Curry was yummy . . . . . might even be able to fit some more in now seeing as I stopped eating a good 5 minutes ago!

NurseSunshine · 09/11/2010 20:09

That's awesome news petitech. How big was baby? Could you see it moving? RE nuchal fold, they do it in conjunction with blood tests. They take loads of info about you, inc age, lifestyle etc, and blood test results and nuchal fold and come up with a ratio e.g. 1:300. If it's 1:150 (still extremely low percentage) they call if high risk and offer you amniocentesis. You could just have the blood test if they scan at the wrong time (must be between 11 and 13 weeks) or if baby is in the wrong position. This gives a less accurate ratio and consequently 1:200 is considered high risk. hth

Grin at gold fish bowl knackered! What's the point of having a ridiculous tummy if you can't have fun with it?!

Am I being dim or has Moomin not been around for a while? If you're out there moomin hope everything's ok, if you posted an hour ago then ignore me and blame baby brain :)

mrsbigw · 09/11/2010 20:13

yellowtom my nipples are just plain old sore but I think they are probably beyond further change by now as they have been through it all before the poor things.

LOL @ the belly pic nurseS

knackered I need to stop wearing comfy trackies for the same reasons, I am usually quite smartly dressed but am looking more like a chronic drug user doing the school run, old tracksuits and same green parka coat a la Sajid in East is East. Its been a while since I actually wore my jeans or trousers though so I'm not actually sure if they will fit.

Nice to see everyone relaxing & eating well, happy days :)

knackered76 · 09/11/2010 20:30

MrsB lol at looking like a chronic drug user Grin Grin

sasamaxx · 09/11/2010 20:36

Welcome Jasmine

rubberduckies - great link - that cheered me up. I'm really looking forward to a glass of champagne on Christmas day.

MrsbigW - great site - made me feel a lot more normal with my big 10 week bump.
My MS is definitely easing this week.

Nursesunshine I always refuse the downs syndrome blood test thing anyway so don't get a percentage risk.
Most of my clothes are too tight already - but it's the general bloated-tummy area that's my problem.

Booking appt AKA mammoth question session tomorrow.

8rubberduckies · 09/11/2010 21:04

yellowtomato my nipples have grown back to breastfeeing size, are darker and a lot more sensitive. We're definitely missing a few familiar faces; moomin, barbie etc., where are you? Hope everyone is ok, and still thinking of you broughthimaround...

bananarama05 · 09/11/2010 21:21

Evening all,

Wow how busy have you all been on here today!

Feeling a bit better today, my lack of sickness is still making me a bit nervous but hopefully it's just time moving on.

On the nipple front, mine have just got bigger. I've only got two bras left too nursesunshine that I can squeeze into and am fighting the urge to buy any more just yet in case they're too small in 2 weeks! On the plus side was just about to get in bed the other day when OH declared "your boobs are bloody massive" .... that's as close as he gets to a compliment Smile.

I'm having a nuchal NS and I'm only 24 but think it'll just play on my mind if I don't so agreed to all the tests for everything.

Still waiting for my bloody scan letter grr, 10+3 and counting!

How exactly do you book a private scan and how much roughly are they out of interest??

Dinner time for me, chorizo and butter bean stew courtest of OH, lets see how much I can get through Smile
