Just a new thread as I noticed we are near the limit (again)!

Need to sleep and PDR I have itchy nipples as well, I remember my tummy getting really itchy as well.

Need to sleep Mary was really awful tonight, not her biggest fan but feel a bit for her. Yet again dd1 beside herself at One Direction, although she was so tired she almost fell asleep, tucked up in bed now. Still having totally inappropriate crush on Aiden, it's the bracelets, eyeliner and psycho eyes, brings me right back to my teenage years Grin

WanderingSheep · 06/11/2010 23:10

Hello, hope everyone is well and having a good weekend! Is everyone enjoying the fireworks? DD had a lovely time at the firework display last night. It was very very wet and muddy but she thought that it was great fun squelching and splashing in her wellies then she kept clapping and laughing when the fireworks came on and shouting, "bang, bang, bang!"

Had a lovely day today, just DH and I. My Dsis had DD for the day so we got some Christmas shopping done and we bought our pram, yippee! Grin We've gone for the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette City Scape, and it was a good deal as it was ex display and included the rain cover! I really like it. It's easy to steer, well seems it anyway and feels better than the Hauck Jeep I had for DD!

Welcome to lgmum!

Does anyone else's kicks and movements sometimes feel like vibrations? Hmm I get a lot of vibration sensations in my pelvis and tickly feelings Confused and then suddenly she'll bounce on my bladder and I'll feel like it's going to pop! Weird!

I have no clue what I weigh at the moment. I'd put on a stone a few weeks ago although my growth seems to have slowed down, thankfully and you can still see my waist.

earlgreyismynectar · 06/11/2010 23:14

Hee hee wiggles! DD here is also a One Direction fan & she's only 4!!! She even pointed out her favourite one (Harry the heart throb I believe!) heck, didn't think the boy band thing would start this early! Yes Aiden is lovely & that pseudo intensity takes me back to my pseudo goth days but no, it has to be Matt, his voice gives me goosebumps! Shock oh & Rebecca too has an amazing voice. X Factor is the highlight of my Sat nights now!

Itchy tum here too, just have to expose it & scratch to my hearts content like a monkey.

Enjoy that doughnut 40 mmm! Hope tomorrow's better.

Great story GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave (or has the Proff returned?!) being stitched by torchlight in a powercut! Needs must! Keep Calm & Carry On!!

I've put on much more weight than last time Cler, not weighing myself (& attempting to block out what the midwife tells me). Hey ho, baby is happy & healthy for it, I'll worry about shifting it post birth!

Have a nice weekend ladies xxx

WanderingSheep · 06/11/2010 23:16

Aiden looked good in his eyeshadow last week!

angels1 · 07/11/2010 08:14

I missed MAry last night but did think the cardle-meister was good. And it was good to se Louis get out his famous rule book at Simon

earlgrey I must remember the keep calm and carry on mantra during irth - maybe I should get a big tshirt with the motto on to wear in labour in hospital Wink

Well I think Blush I could out do everyones weight gain (and now I feel really big and horrible). I weighed myself a few days ago and think I've put on 2 - 2.5 stone already. I know this is too much, but, still suffering with nausea (even though it's not as bad as first tri) and eating really is one of the only things that helps. I also ate tons and tons in first few months to help the nausea. sigh. I also try and tell myself some of it is water retention, which I have quite badly.

Had a bad day yesterday with nausea again - ended up going to bed as I felt so rubbish. But had quite a good nights sleep thank goodness so a little perkier today :)

Thanks for all your good wishes girls, we did end up going to fireworks after all and kids didn't even enjoy it that much! Anyway, the custard donut worked it's magic so thank goodness fir small mercies!

Today however will b different as am off to a holistic therapies fair (?!) and am having reflexology and also reiki which I am hoping will help the trapped nerve in my back. Also might see a medium! Am intrigued so haven't decided yet. Anyone else seen one?

Wandering, yesterday sounds lovely! Our ds1 think rebeccas singing is "gorgeous" , so cute

suzym1984 · 07/11/2010 09:11

Well, I may be in denial but I have not being weighing myself so no idea really! I would guess nearly a stone? Although I can still fit into my size 10 work tops so cant be that bad!

ledkr I have read some fab reviews about the oyster pram, and when we tried it in the shop I loved it!

wanderingsheep yes mine feel like vibrations sometimes! its very weird, maybe it's all the fluid?

Does anyone know what they will buy for their baby to sleep in when they are in their room? I had been fancying a rocking crib, but now I like the look of the co-sleeper cribs that fit onto the side of your bed. They look very good for breat feeding. Does anyone have any ideas?

Oh, and angels I have a bone to pick with you........ I CAN NOT STOP LOOKING ON EBAY!!!!!!! It is addictive! haha Grin

Hope everyone has a lovely day

ZeroMinusZero · 07/11/2010 09:15

Louis was 100% right to have a go at Simon for Kids In America, there isn't anything American about it, other than the word "America". I believe it was Simon who a few years ago chose a Keane song for 'rock week' Hmm

I had a good time at the local fireworks last night but almost collapsed on the way back due to joint pain and could barely get out of the car when we got home so I'm going to spend as much of today as possible lying down.

ZeroMinusZero · 07/11/2010 09:17

suzy we're going moses basket followed by cotbed. It will be a tight squeeze with the cotbed in our room but it will only be for a few months.

WanderingSheep · 07/11/2010 09:25

Morning!

Suzy, we had a Moses basket for DD which we will be using again but they tend to grow out of them pretty quickly, so I guess it depends on how long you want them in your room for. They recommend 6 months but DD was 3 months when she moved into her own room and I don't think the Moses basket would have lasted her much longer. I think the rocking cribs last longer as they're bigger and possibly sturdier. The side crib thingy sounds good as you wouldn't have to get out of bed to feed if you're breastfeeding Grin but I've never seen one so I'm not sure what they're like.

angels1 · 07/11/2010 09:27

suzy I have the ebay obsession - just - can't - help - searching - all - the - time - must - resist Wink

zero hope you're OK today with the joint pain.

We've got a cot and are planning on just using that from day one and then move her straight from cot to regular bed once she outgrows this. Have no idea if this is the normal or proper way though. A friend of mine says she might be able to lend me her moses basket but then I'm not sure if we'll have to get a new matress for it like you do with cots Hmm

40 I had a friend who saw a medium (actually I think she was a psychic - are they the same thing?). She told my friend amazing things about her she couldn't have known - like that she was planning a trip to australia and lots of other things I currently forget. She told her she would have 2 boys though and she's just had a girl...but then, she may well go on to have 2 boys in future. I have a soft spot for Derren Brown (who sort of does fake psychic magic type stuff)

suzym1984 · 07/11/2010 09:29

Thanks ladies, thats what has put me off the moses basket, that they grow out so quick. I fancy a crib of some sort, just rocking or co-sleeping? hmmmm, will have to do some internet research I think!
I really fancy the co-sleeper, but the thought of having to give up my bedside cabinet fills me with dread!!! Where would I keep my water, lipbalm, etc????!!!

WanderingSheep · 07/11/2010 09:33

Ooh, just had a look at those co sleepers and they do look good! I like the idea that the baby is so near but still has their own little space, iykwim and you don't have the worry of them falling out! Also good if you have a baby like DD, who didn't need to be cuddled to sleep but sometimes liked to be patted or her hand to be held, you would be able to lie next to them and do it rather than having to stand next to Moses basket!

suzym1984 · 07/11/2010 09:37

Exactly!! I love the idea that baby can see you and thought it might help to settle a restless baby. And would make breast feeding soo much easier, esp in winter when it will be cold to keep getting out of bed {lazy cow that I am}

WanderingSheep · 07/11/2010 09:39

Angels, there is no "proper or normal" way, just whatever you feel comfortable with! Smile

If your room is big enough to have a cot in, I see no reason why they can't go in it straight away. I think some babies like the fact that a Moses basket etc is small and more womb like.

WanderingSheep · 07/11/2010 09:42

I keep thinking about the fact that it's going to be cold when I have this baby too! DD was born in June and it was boiling so getting out of bed didn't seem so bad. I'll be dreading it in the cold .

earlgreyismynectar · 07/11/2010 10:14

I agree, I think some baby's feel more secure in a Moses basket, we had a cotbed for DD which would've been huge to her at first. I borrowed a beautiful old Moses basket for DD which has been offered again (I bought a new mattress for it). I had it next to my bed for the first few months which was great for breastfeeding in the night. I felt bereft when she finally moved into her cotbed at the other side of the room!! We kept her in that in our room for her first year. I loved the versatility of the Moses basket & would lift it out of the stand & have her near me on the sofa in the evenings (when she was very tiny). To be honest, your pram will be brand new & set up in the house & providing it has the traditional flat area for lying down (rather than a buggy style) then that too is great for them & it can be wheeled about & hood up etc! DD slept in hers for the first few days until I sorted out the Moses basket.

I'm feeling really crampy in my stomach which I've had in the morning before, think it's residual braxton hicks, anyone else? Also had the most horrendous indigestion / heartburn last night when I went to bed :( kept me awake for ages. Think I'll need to get something for it, Tums worked last time but I've heard Gaviscon is good though taking a liquid is less appealing to me! A few people have mentioned I'm carrying high so that could explain it. Have a great day ladies.

suzym1984 · 07/11/2010 10:23

Great idea about using the pram carrycot earlgrey, I ordered the carrycot attachment so will prob use that for downstairs daytime sleeping.

Quick question, as I am now addicted to ebay, should I concentrate on newborn or 0-3 mnths sizes? Dont know how much stuff to buy, as dont know the sex so have to buy unisex stuff.

Also, how much of each thing are people buying? e.g. how many newborn vests, sleepsuits, jackets, cardis etc?? and how many 0-3 mnths??

EEEEEK I am starting to get all confused now!!

suzym1984 · 07/11/2010 10:25

Meant to say earlgrey that I often get stomach cramps in the morning, no idea why?! Never any bleeding or anything and they usually just fade to nothing, so I'm not overly concerned. Sometimes I think it's due to slowed down digesive system.

ZeroMinusZero · 07/11/2010 10:38

suzy you may find 0-3 months a bit big for a new born baby but they will grow out of newborn stuff pretty quickly. I can't help you with numbers because we're not getting any clothes till the last minute as we're expecting to be given quite a lot by others. Am going to try to stick to babygrows for as long as possible, despite the fact that there are so many gorgeous outfits on ebay which are so tempting.

earlgreyismynectar · 07/11/2010 10:43

Ok suzym, maybe it is just slowed down digestive system, I'm not overly concerned as there is no bleeding but it is so uncomfortable & wakes me (no bad thing, I'll have to get used to that again!).

Yes Carry Cot, THAT'S the word (rather than "traditional flat lying down area" Doh) Hmm baby brain....

For clothes Suzy I would personally concentrate on 0-3 rather than new born, DD was 8.2lb and had a few newborn sizes on prob less than a handful of times. They grow sooo fast. Then again, if they're cheap - no harm, they will most def have been hardly worn.

smallblackflowers · 07/11/2010 11:00

suzy I had a bedside co-sleeper crib that my DH built for DD, and I didn't lose my bedside table either! I wouldn't have any other arrangement for DC#2 as I got so much more sleep than my friends who used moses baskets.

geekygiraffe · 07/11/2010 11:14

Morning ladies
We ordered the Cosatto bedside cot (thanks HiP grant - not gone in yet though - anyone know how long they take to process?). Wanted to co-sleep, but also want own space, and am scared of squashing baby! Seems a good compromise, and becomes free-standing cot when needed. Can sleep in pram carrycot overnight (mattress ok for it apparently), so we'll use that if the cot seems too big.
Less exciting are the aches and pains. Lower back hurts - think from standing at (amazing) firework display, and keep having cramps/period-pain on left-hand side of stomach. Assume is braxton hicks, but thought they weren't supposed to hurt? Makes me worry about how bad real contractions will be...
For clothes, am going minimal (there's a checklist in the rough guide to pregnancy), as can get more once baby is here and I know how big it is!!!

PDR · 07/11/2010 11:25

Is something like this a co-sleeper cot?

www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10751&langId=-1&productId=50033&source=froogle&cm_mmc=Froogle--Shopping%20Sites--CPC-_-Froogle

I quite like the idea of not having to get out of bed. If anyone has seen any others can they pls post a link?

I have a moses basket and am being loaned a stand but I could use this for downstairs daytime sleeping and then have the co-sleeper upstairs.

So many options...!

PDR · 07/11/2010 11:32

Just found this on my search for co-sleepers!
