I know your boss doesn't sound the most sympathetic Amanda but surely, given where you have just been over the weekend and the fact that you are bleeding through pregnancy then that, imo, is a bloody valid reason to go home and rest. Sod work - you're health is more important than your job.

Chloe55 · 11/10/2005 16:33

Gosh it's quiet on here today - are people actually doing some work? I have finished my figures so will officially have nothing to do again until this time next month at work which might be a godsend to some people but it just makes the hours go sooooooooo slowly. Daren't tell my boss though as he will wonder what the hell I have been doing for the past 12 months I guess he'll find out when I go on maternity!

Bewitched · 11/10/2005 17:17

Yes, very quiet after our little flourish first thing!

Amazingly I did actually have some work to do this afternoon, as we made a sudden decision to roll out one of my projects that had been on trial.
I guess with TicTac down in 'the big smoke' too, and Amanda hopefully resting at home by now, that's left us a bit short of chatterboxes! Flamebat is obviously still resting up and letting her food digest!

flamebat · 11/10/2005 17:39

Flamebat is STARVING!!!

Oooh, which come to think of it could explain a lot about DD's mood . She's poorly and grizzly... I had a doctors appointment that I came out of at 12.30 (nothing baby related), and I thougth I'd drive her round so that she'd fall asleep and feel better...

She woke agani as I tried to get her out of the car... I then spent ages trying to get her back to sleep. She is FINALLY asleep now, but I've realised that in all the sleep pleading, she ended up with a bottle but no actual food .

Frizbe · 11/10/2005 20:06

Flame oopse!

Chloe never mind, do I take it your not going back then

Bewitched was the poster at a posh hospital I wonder, the sort that'd have wireless internet connections! or maybe it was on a mobile?!

Yep you guessed correctly anyway, I've been working all day! including checking the state of a house I'm managing, as tennants moving out in two weeks....spot of work to be done, as you can imagine! ho hum...nothing too bad tho

Amanda hope your getting some good rest tonight {{Hugs}}

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 08:51

I won't be coming back here Frizbe, I honestly couldn't think of anything worse. I will need to go back to some sort of work though as we are not the Beckhams or anything, much to my disatisfaction .

Flame I spent last night at Frankie & Benny's and stuffed my face again I really need to assess my diet or I will be the size of a bus soon and won't be able to use the eating for 2 excuse come Feb!

I ordered my cot from Mamas and Papas but it won't be in the shop until 14 days, gutted! Call me naive but I thought we'd be able to take it home with us, never mind I guess I'm in no rush.

Hope everyone is well today x

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 08:59

Chloe - 14 days sounds good to me. The set we looked at in M&P was delivery for December when we looked at the beginning of August!!

I think that the one we are getting instead is about 8 weeks delivery, so I guess we'd better order it soon!

Frizbe - from what I know of the girl I doubt she was anywhere posh. Must have had some sort of mobile to work it I guess.

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 09:16

Wow! I guess I should think myself lucky then!

flamebat · 12/10/2005 09:39

I'm glad we bought all our baby stuff from babies r us last time - got it all on the same day! I would have been so impatient with waiting... February isn't the best time to be due when it comes to buying - you dip out on the sales.

Glad to see you're catching up with my eating habits Chloe . I need to start cutting back - I've actually lost weight on non-bump areas, but I doubt that it will stay gone for long with what I've been shovelling in, and since I'd been unhappy with my size beforehand, the more I can keep off, the better. My BIL actually noticed that I'd lost weight off my bum (only to be thumped by my sister for having looked at my bum enough to know the difference! )

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 10:04

Hee hee, I had lost weight off my bum and thighs but I think I am gaining it again now. My MIL said she could tell I was pregnant because my face has changed shape, which basically meant I have a fat face now in the nicest possible way! DH keeps going on and on about how he is actually looking forward to us going on a diet after the baby because we are both gaining unecessary weight which just makes me want to eat more out of spite! At least I am gaining weight for a reason! And I read that it is normal to gain between 10-14lbs at this stage which, although I lost 10lbs at the beginning, I have gained 14lbs since then so in theory have only put on 4lbs so I am quite content with that.

Wow! Where did all that come from

flamebat · 12/10/2005 10:08

LOL - I love the way we can analyse all this. I've put on 6lb in total... which takes me to about 14lb over my ideal non-pg weight. Does that make any sense?

If I were you, I'd put your DH on a diet now since he's so concerned, and eat loads of fattening stuff in front of him

Frizbe · 12/10/2005 11:03

Hi all, hope your all ok today, we're off for a scan this afternoon 1.45, so will let you know flavour if bump agrees!
Very proud of dd this am as well, she managed to hit the potty with a poo! well it was half in half out, but sooo happy! her 1st

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 11:34

Ah bless her, must say I am really looking forward to finding puddles and plops around the house when it comes to potty training

Good luck with your scan. I have my 3d/4d scan coming up in 6 weeks, very excited.

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 11:35

Good luck Frizbe! Let's hope that baby Friz wants to open his/her legs for the camera!
And well done to your DD - it seems an odd thing to congratulate on at the moment, but I'm sure we'll understand far better when our little ones reach that stage themselves!

Just checked my books, and I'm still 12.5lbs lighter that when I conceived. Would have been more but gained MASSES after DH's party. And if you think that your eating habits are odd, let me share with you that I had freshly made linguine carbonara for breakfast this morning .

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 12:18

Chloe - there's an eeyore toy for sale on the for sale boards in case you hadn't noticed!

flamebat · 12/10/2005 13:17

Ok. I dunno what to do.

For DD was bought a graco travel system - loved the whole thing of being able to just take the seat out of the car and stick it in the pushchair. BUT - its too big for our boot, and the thought of fighting it in there everytime with a newborn and a toddler seems like hell.

I'm planning to sling this baby most of the time, but not having used a sling before, I'm worried and want a back up plan.

Ideally I want a 3 wheeler travel system (with a swivel front wheel - can't steer them otherwise) for under £200, and it needs to squash fairly small - we have a fairly large boot, but only a smallish gap to fit it in to get into the boot (does that make sense???).

OR... Do I just get a pram type one (which I've always loved the look of), and transfer the baby from the car seat?

flamebat · 12/10/2005 13:17

Posting on main boards too

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 13:30

Thanks Tabs - I have posted on her thread.

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 14:30

GGrrrrrrrrrr - just tried to phone one of our local baby stores to get a quote for loads of stuff that we want, and obviously me leaving the phone ringing so long was annoying them, as I think they just picked it up and cut me off . Obviously they don't want the £2k I was going to spend with them then! The least they could have done was pick it up and say one sentence like 'I'm very sorry but we're all tied up with customers at the moment - could you call back in half an hour please'. Always get ignored when I go into the store too.

flamebat · 12/10/2005 14:31

I'd spend my money elsewhere.

Please help me with my pushchair issues I had one reply on my products version of it, but I didn't quite understand it

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 14:50

Unfortunately they're the only local supplier for the furniture, but I won't be inclined to buy much else from them.

Not sure I have much advice on your pushchair problem sorry. Found it hard enough picking for myself! The trouble with 3 wheelers is that they generally don't fold up especially small. Just checked out the Quinny Buzz as we had some friends at DH's party with one, and I thought it might be good for you, but it's too expensive (might have known if I'd thought about who the friends actually were!).

If you don't get any more responses on your other thread then it might be worth one saying 'small 3 wheel pushchair for under £200' in title, so that it will catch the eye of people who have experience of that sort.

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 14:55

I'm sorry Flame I am clueless when it comes to pushchairs, I'm sure someone will post something of some help to you.

Do you have to buy your stuff from this store? I'd boycott it if I was you. Saying that I bought a skirt from a clothes shop once which tore as soo as I put it on and they refused to refund me so I kicked up a big fuss refusing to ever give them business again and telling the shop owner that I would tell all my friends how crap he was. Wasn't long before I saw a bargain in the shop window and had to sneak in to buy it - I have no pride

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 15:01

lol Chloe! Only shop I buoycott religiously at the mo is Sainsbury's! Very long story but nearly involved police and me contacting press, so really don't want to ever set foot in their stores again if I can help it.

Chloe55 · 12/10/2005 15:39

Was that about the hole in the pavement outside the shop or is that someone elses story I read on here somewhere? I don't go to Sainsbury's purely because it is £10 for a pint of milk (ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little!)

Bewitched · 12/10/2005 16:12

No, that wasn't me. Mine was to do with a new member of staff refusing to take some oranges that were over a week out of date off me, when I had just done her a favour by removing them from display, which would have left them open to a big fine.
