of comp winning, but still a big yay for you

Leg cramp - very common, eating a banana a day is meant to help, something to do with the potassium. When you wake up, try to stretch your legs with your feet pointing back towards your face, not straight away from you... it makes it less likely to happen.

TicTac · 05/10/2005 09:36

3K - Yes the pillow is full length. It must be about 4' long as it did legs, bump and arms last night and there still seemed to be pillow left over!

Chloe - I would get yourself to Costco hun! And yes, cramp can be really bad in pregnancy. It was one of the things my mum suffered terrible with all 3 pregnancies. I am not sure how to prevent it...is it not a salt thing??

I am out of the office until 15:30 this afternoon and then scan tomorrow!!!

My fingernails are growing at the speed of light at the minute...anyone else got this?

Frizbe · 05/10/2005 10:06

Tic tac, good luck for scan tomorrow!
3K, grrr so your the one whose winning all these things! well done hon! mind you I can't complain, we've gotten our money back from Tax Credits this am, hurrah, am momentarily rich!! must move it to a savings account pronto, or else will spend it on rubbish.
Righty off to finish painting the kitchen, did the celing last week, just waiting for Gran to get here, so I can do all the walls now = one clean kitchen, marvelous! just the utility, stairs (yeah righty) and dd's new room to do, once dh clears all his crap out of it!

flamebat · 05/10/2005 12:27

Two bouncy yay things - One... DD has 2 new words (she's been quite slow with speaking, but have always felt that she is good at other thigns so not worried too much) - Boy and Girl

AND - she told me that she is a girl, her teddy is a boy, I am a girl, and..... Baby is a girl I asked if she was sure it wasn't a boy, and she said "No! Durl" Just asked again now (about an hr later) and still girl.

Been worrying that she thought I was growing a plum in there (did I tell you all about the whole plums = babies thing???), so for her to give it a sex is sooo much more promising

flamebat · 05/10/2005 12:29

Ooh ooh and....

She joined in with Dora today She's always just sat and watched before, but we went to a friend's house on Friday and we all sat round and joined in (I think me n Hatty had more fun than the children), and today she joined in without me

My baby is growin up.

Whole sentences are starting too. On sunday we had "Me fell down stairsth, hurtsth me hair"

hotmama1 · 05/10/2005 12:37

Afternoon everyone - my dd is one today! Feeling all emotional - but probably pregnancy hormones?

Has anyone bought much stuff? - if this isn't your first baby. I haven't although I need to get a new buggy/furniture etc - I suppose I need to get a move on as only 16 weeks to due date.

Hope everyone is O.K.

flamebat · 05/10/2005 12:50

Awww, just had "My cry, my poorly" As nice as it is to see she is finally mastering speech, that is sad to hear.

womba1 · 05/10/2005 14:45

Good Afternoon All, great to be back but this is a real quickie as have to pick ds up from Grandma's.
But just wanted to say... can we add a girlie flavour to the stats!! Had my scan this morning and we're having a very long legged baby girl. Me and dh are utterly gobsmacked but beaming!
Anyway, will endeavour to catch up with you all later this evening and hope you're all doing great.
Love Womba x

3k · 05/10/2005 14:49

Hi All,

Congrats on baby girl Womba - this really IS turning into a girl thread.

I'm not so good today, feel hot, tired and drained and had lots of period type pains and pain when I pee again. Phoned midwife who was sure it was water infection returning but went to docs and this is not the case. Told to go home and rest so now feel really miserable as I feel AWLFUL today and there doesnt seem to be a reason for it. Got up at midday, now need to go back to bed! Is this normal!!!! Arhhhhhhhh!

Bewitched · 05/10/2005 15:00

Wow - another girl! Congrats Womba1.

Good luck with your scan TicTac.

Well done to flamebat's dd and happy birthday to Hotmama's dd.

Hugs to 3k. Hope you're feeling brighter soon.

Phew - worn out just reading about all the painting that Frizbe is doing!

Chloe - Grrr at IKEA - you're unusually quiet today - still fuming in a corner somewhere ?

Anyone know what happened to Barefootmama - she used to post loads but hasn't been on for ages now?

flamebat · 05/10/2005 15:43

Yay for Womba - got visions of a thread full of girls

Chloe55 · 05/10/2005 15:56

Congrats on the girl Womba - really pleased for you.

Not so pleased for a poorly 3k though .

Pleased and proud of me though because I gave IKEA what for and now they are sending me a cheque by post and I have arranged for goods to be delivered on Thurs at my convenience and they said even if the guy has to ride over on a camel in a sand storm he will make sure I get my goods!!

Tabs, I am unusually quiet because I have actually done some work at work today

Chloe55 · 05/10/2005 15:58

I heard that there will be a massive surge of baby girls over the next year for some reason. I'm gonna lock my son up until he is 30!

flamebat · 05/10/2005 16:02

Tis all very strange. I don't think my DD's prediciotn is solid enough to put in the stats

3k - just rest. You've probably just got a virus that will make you feel drained and sh*tty for a few days (don't you like it when I come on with good news for you ). Make the most of the time to sleep while you can without heartburn/peeing every 30 mins, and read lots. I'm jealous (not of feeling horrible ), I want time to rest without a toddler.

Frizbe · 05/10/2005 16:33

Agree rest up as best you can 3k, get better soon {{Hugs}}

Flame aww your dd's a sweetie, my dd keeps pointing at my tummy and saying sister, ss also agrees and thinks it'll be a girl, but I keep slipping up and saying he (but then I though dd was a boy, so who am I to say anything!) but we'll let you all know if we can next wed!!

Hotmama happy 1st birthday to your dd, have brought nothing for new baby yet, we're gona clear dd's old stuff out of the loft after her birthday in Nov, whilst re jigging her to a new room, and thus creating space for another baby, then we shall see what else we need, phew! I'm exhausted thinking about it....

Womba congrats on your girl too!

Well have finished painting kitchen, 100% better, so that's a happy me! and its now all wipeable paint, so fingers x'd if we sell during the next few years, will get away with a quick wipe over rather than a re paint! and still have enuff paint left to do the utility too (once we repair the hole in the celing where the bath leaked....)hurrah!

Have to say tho, left leg, pelvis thru bum to top of leg giving me gip today.....was my right leg last pregnancy, looks to be the other one this time...fingers x'd it doesn't go to both, or it'll be crutches for me...

Hope all else ok.

spacecadet · 05/10/2005 20:16

hi everyone, im posting a bit infrequently at the mo as we have started having work done on our house, what a nightmare..im worn out and stressed out..whose idea was it to have it done??...oh yes it was mine, the joiner came yesterday to replace all our internal doors, he was here for 10 hours! can he talk or what? i reckon there was 6 hours chat and four hours work! lucky he wasnt charging by the hour!, i escaped into the living room and put shaun of the dead on dvd on, only for him to come in there after me and start yapping!
we are having our old fireplace ripped out next..im dreading that! dh is reciting the computer in the living room so internet will be going off for the next day or so, while he wires up an extension, we are having a nerw kitchen which will extend into the dining room where the comp currently is, so from now on dh will probably moan if i go on mn in the evenings!
hope everyone is ok, havent had time to read down the thread, hope everyones scans have been fine, ive cauight the gist that we are fast turning into a pink thread!

spacecadet · 05/10/2005 20:19

hope you get better soon 3k.

Anyone who hasn't seen the other thread - Popadoplis is doing fine (Been worrying)... she's back at work on Monday, finally starting to enjoy her pregnancy. She had her scan, and... yet another girlie!!!!

3k · 06/10/2005 10:02

Hi Ladies,

I'm really peed off toady, came into work as my boss has been in India for a week and he is really arsey with me as I had a day off sick yesterday. I told him doc told me to rest but I still came in anyway as I know he gets the arse whenever I'm off (3 days in total this year which I think is good). I'm still feeling unwell and he then said "well if the doctor told you to take a few days off it was silly of you to come in"!!!! For God's sake!!! I cant blooming win. He apparantly wants to talk about sickness and timekeeping - I'm going to look for another job whilst on maternity leave, dont need this stress. I do think I have a viral infection or something, felt ok for about an hour this morning and now feel crap - really, really tired, and shakey. not sure what it is really.

Had our finance man round last night to sort a new mortgage out, we are hoping to have about £3000 in the bank which will help whilst I'm off on leave.

Chloe - hope you are feeling better soon, there seems to be a lot going around!!!

flamebat · 06/10/2005 10:09

GO HOME! If you're not there already that is.

3 days sick in a year is nothing. I was signed off for 6 weeks with my pregnancy with DD, plus random sick days before that (I catch everything going, and it normally hits me hard). I did have to have a "talk" about it with my big boss, he was worried I was unhappy in my job - I sat and looked at his big list of dates, and pointed to one near the start of the list and said "Well I fell pregnant there...." his wife was pregnant with bad morning sickness at the time, so he was understanding thankfully.

You should be in bed resting, being ill, and extra stress is not going to do your little baby any good at all. Go home, go back in on Monday happy and rested.

3k · 06/10/2005 10:59

I'm here unfortunately, he is being a bit quiet now. He knows he is out of order but cant help himself! We still havent agreed my maternity leave dates either which was one reason I wanted to pop in today but he keeps avoiding the subject. I will get him to commit to it as soon as he is in a better mood. He puts work first, family second, always has done and expects others to follow suit!!

Not feeling too bad, just really drained for some reason. Had a chelsea bun and a cup of tea so that may perk me up a bit

Bewitched · 06/10/2005 11:42

No talk of buns and nice things please. I put on 5 lbs this week, so need to start being good again!

3K - I'm still confused about your work situation. If you are self employed then who gives a stuff how many days you have off sick, as you don't get paid for them anyway! Get yourself off home and onto the sofa in front of the TV!

3k · 06/10/2005 12:20

He pays me for sick days though, it is like I'm employed by him and the self employed basis only applies for tax reasons. I get paid holiday pay too.
