Amanda1 are you applying for the new 4 year course? my friend is currently in the 3rd year of it in Birmingham, reckons its great! another year and she'll be a doctor again!! (already has a phd in another subject, but got bored of research)
Yeahbut, congrats on your girl!

Oooh I'm jealous. I want to study

Its just not viable though - if we're leaving DD in care, then I should really be working. I might do teacher training when both of them are in school....

I have a poorly little lady here, temp up (although I think the thermometer needs new batteries - she's boiling, but her temp is saying 36.6), she came in to us in the ngiht crying that her mouth hurt, which I'm guessing is a sore throat. Looks like a day of calpol and cuddles for me.

I'm having a growth spurt - bump is aching sooo much lately, and is very tight. I had a very tight bump with DD too, so assuming I just grow em snug .

Scan on Friday, no flavours for me though.

Anyone else getting the horrible pain when you change sides in the night, bump suddenly flops down on the bed and you feel like everything is going to fall out of your side??? I've been sleeping with a pillow under it, but I move so much it normally ends up out of the bed by the middle of the night!!!

Yup - the no money/no debt situation would be better. Its one of these situations where we would be able to get by (because we are now), but that we will never get any further ahead/pay anything off).

Frizbe · 04/10/2005 09:03

Morning all, go for it Amanda!
Flame could you try doing something with the OU part time to get your oar into something as it were? you can do teacher training part time with them now!
Well bump is lively this am, have just had lots of nice lovely kicks or punches, not sure which!!

I am thinking of a career change too Amanda. I will either go back to vet nursing or I am gonna set up my own website regarding dream analysis as it has always been a hobby of mine but I don't know whether that idea might be a bit farfetched but I think it would be fun. DH is a little reluctant to unleash me in that area though.

Congrats on the little girl YeahBut.

Tell me about them horrible stretching pains in the middle of the night Flame - they're a killer, DH thinks I'm dying when I get them

TicTac · 04/10/2005 10:46

I am on the verge of tears at the moment..I hate the work I am doing at the minute, I feel of no/ little value and I just want to chuck all my toys out of the pram and walk. This is not a financial luxury I have right now!!!

TicTac has been really active for days but then there is nothing today...harrumph!

Chloe55 · 04/10/2005 10:49

Oh no TicTac, you sound very down this morning. I thought you quite liked where you work? Are they being shitty with you?

TicTac · 04/10/2005 10:58

They are not being shitty it is just the project I am working on is pointless! And as a result work is being generated for the sake of keeping someone in a job (and yes in part myself!) but I hate not being able to deliver and just dancing around the edges!! I am just finding it so hard at the minute...I just want to go if this is how it is going to be. DOn't forget we are also on the redundency hit list...which they will disclose Christmas week!!

Chloe55 · 04/10/2005 11:01

Oh dear - what a time to break the news to people. If you want to chat about it you know I am only on the other end of an email.

TicTac · 04/10/2005 11:05

Thanks hun but the other issue we have is they are currently scanning all email to ensure we are not discussing such things with the outside world...all very sensitive hence I am quite think on details on here! 27 people have been through the mill in one of our other offices already. They don't normally do this crap at my level but they will do "anything" at the minute to protect their own external image etc...Just crap for some of us in the middle of it all...

I am sure I will be fine tomorrow...just a very emotional day for some reason!

Will come to email to chat in general though

kando · 04/10/2005 12:01

Great news Yeahbut! If they've told you the flavour, hopefully they'll tell me too. All well here - I've got a real wriggler this time. Seems to be awake day and night - hope that's not a sign of the things to come!!

teuch · 04/10/2005 12:46

hi all - copngrats on the pinkness yeahbut!

Tabs, excellent update as always - no anomaly scan for me...no more scans at all in fact - if everything ok - so no flavour disclosure from this bump!

flamebat · 04/10/2005 13:54

Huge hugs and arghs for you TicTac.

Was driving round today trying to get DD to sleep, and was wondering what your ideal plan would be if money were comfortable, no debts etc? (Not lottery win amounts though)

For me it would be to go to uni once the DDs are at school (that's the 3rd time I've written DDs now - I'm gonna be sooooo thrown if this is a boy! ), study human biology, and then get a job doing some sort of lab research work that lets me keep child friendly hours .

How bout you?

TicTac · 04/10/2005 14:26

Hmm, either re-train as a midwife or set up my own property management company or even freelance doing what I do now!

Frizbe · 04/10/2005 14:32

Oh Tic Tac, damn anoying situation for you to be in, you have my sympathies.

Interesting one Flame, for me I think I'd carry on with what I'm doing now (self employed) but I'd do it in more style and become a big business! but with hours to suit me, so I could still have fun with the kids!! I'd also move to a nice house in the contry, get a few horses, a new car and have some nice hols!

TicTac · 04/10/2005 21:11

All very quiet on here. Is everyone ok?
Bagged a bargain in Costco tonight, bought a body pillow in feux suede ideal for pregnancy and nursing. Been looking for one for ages but not happy to pay £40 from the various preg magazines. Anyway, this one is gorgeous and was £15! Looking forward to trying it out later! Almost as tall as I am (don't get excited, I am only 5'2")

3k · 04/10/2005 22:29

Hello,

It is quiet on here today. I got honme to two letters - one from Pregnancy and Birth magazine and I have won some Bambino Mio resusable nappies!!! The other from The Caring Pregnancy Show as I have won some tickets!!! I think I might do the lottery tomorrow LOL

Are you all still getting period type pains? I'm still getting them although not too worried as I have had them for a while now.

I lost my nesquick today Took it to work to have some there and it has gone missing since. ~~I'm sure I brought it home but it is still probably on my desk!!! DH said I am definately getting worse with the pregnancy head!! Doesnt help my cravings for strawberry nesquik though!!!!

3k · 04/10/2005 22:31

Tictac - well done on the maternity pillow. Is it a full length one? I love mine, you can rest your bump on it and rest your legs when you get cramps in the night too!!!!

Off to bed now, will catch up tomorrow
xx

Bewitched · 04/10/2005 22:54

It has been a quiet day on here. Well my only news is that I have had a very itchy nipple all day! Just the one, but boy does it itch!!

(Tabs here by the way, with my halloween name)

Morning everyone,

I like the sound of that pillow TicTac - I bought one from Mothercare but it is not very big or girthy so I want another - a trip to costco is in order me thinks.

I got the worst leg cramp I have ever had at about 5am this morning and my calf muscle is still hurting to the point it is so uncomfortable to walk on it! I get cramp in my foot usually but not like this - is leg cramp common in pregnancy and if so can you prevent it?

I am so angry at IKEA today. I bought some stuff on sat for next day delivery, they rang on sunday to say they wouldn't make it would monday be ok? I agreed coz wasn't that bothered then they rang monday saying they had run out of time and that we would be their priority for tuesday eve. Guess what - no furniture and not even a phonecall! I am waiting for it to open to demand my money back and delivery tonight - I paid £35 delivery ffs!!!

ixel · 05/10/2005 09:30

Hello all. Thanks for all your kind things, but actually I dont feel like I've got much to moan about, even with all the illnesses etc!
3K...I'm having another scan at 34 wks to see the situation. Have a consultant appointmaent tomorrw to discuss all the other reasons why it might be a section again, so keeping fingers crossed!!!
