3k · 02/10/2005 11:05

Hi Frizbe, Hope you poor little girl is feeling a little better now and that you managed to get back to sleep.

Amanda how are you? I hope you are feeling better now and you too Flamebat. Update when you can.

DH has gone 4 x 4ing today, basically sliding around in the mud in a 4 x 4! Men eh!! I'm hopefully off to see a film later with a friend whose DH has also gone mudsliding.

Baby likes toast and damsen jam, just had some for breakfast and lots of kicks now!!!

TicTac · 02/10/2005 12:06

Hi 3K...I hope you have manged to get your nesquick!
Tictac has had quite an active weekend which is lovely..played a game with DH this morning, every time tic tac kicked me...I would poke him in the belly so he could at least feel a little more involved! Not sure he felt involved but made me laugh a lot!!
Right well we have Dad, Grandad and sister over at 2 for lunch so I best get off! Speak to you all tomorrow (maybe later).

flamebat · 02/10/2005 13:36

Any news from Amanda yet?

I'm ok - exhausted from the worry, but a wriggly baby and hurting much less.

Off to sit for the rest of the day doing nothing!

Frizbe · 02/10/2005 14:23

Amanda hope all is ok, we're all very worried about you xx

3k, thanks for thinking of us! dd is still not very well tho, full of snot...Have been to Next this am, (on a sunday, how stupid of me) have managed to buy a pair of green combat type trousers for me in maternity, and dd has a top with tights and some new pants, which she chose with cats on them, hopefully these will encourage her into using the potty!
Have to say am totally shattered tho, after getting up with her from 3.30am onwards today tho, she got up and stayed up at 4.30......and ss got up at 6, cause we were up with dd, am starting to think, oh crikey how will I cope, I know I just will, but am just sooooo tired now!

Tabs how did the party go?

flamebat · 02/10/2005 14:25

Not forgotten the bookend photo for you Frizbe... DH is just being awkward

Frizbe · 02/10/2005 14:27

Hey no worries Flame, whenever you get chance! think I'm gona try and grab 40 winks now, as dd appears to be up for having a nap! hurrah!

spacecadet · 02/10/2005 17:42

3k-apparently if you eat something sweet, the baby is more likely to drink more amniotic fluid, which means they prefer seet over savoury before birth, so your little one was probably enjoying a sugar rush!
amanda, hope all is ok.

Amanda - glad all is well with the baby. I had a low lying placenta with dd - it was right across my cervix so no chance of a normal delivery. I only found out 3 days before I had her by c section at 38 weeks. I was very lucky as it was only found out by accident - it should have been picked up at my 20 week scan! I think knowing is probably better although I didn't have the worry but at least if you have any bleeding you will know to get checked out ASAP and can tell the medics about it. Also are they going to check if it moves I thought that at this stage there was still time for it to move away as your uterus expands?

We have been to look at MPV's today - dh has resigned himself to the fact that we cannot fit 3 car seats in his beloved freelander and he will have to change it!! I think we have narrowed it down to 3 - the Citreon C8, the Renault Espace or the Chrysler Voyager. They are all big enough and have a 5 star safety rating.

Frizbe - hope your dd is feeling better - dd was up at 5.30 full of snot - she stands in her cot shouting Mummy nose!! not very easy to ignore!

Tabs · 02/10/2005 20:23

Evening ladies. Well the party was a roaring success! Thankfully the rain only lasted 10 mins and caught one set of guests before going again. The hog was lovely, the garden games for the kids went down well (garden darts and giant jenga), as did the new plasma screen, which kept them quiet whilst they watched Finding Nemo.

I'm officially shattered now though! Managed to be up for 22 hours in a row in the end, and then got up again at 8 this morning to finish clearing up and make breakfast for the group that stayed over. Now my only remaining task is to eat all of the leftovers!!

Amanda - so pleased to hear that there's a clear reason for your bleed. I too thought that they were supposed to rescan at about 36 weeks to establish whether the placenta had moved up though. Perhaps they just want to prepare you for the worst in case.

Frizbe · 02/10/2005 20:24

Ah Placentia Previa Amanda, they thought I had this last time, but re scanned me at 34 or was it 36 weeks, as per JuA are they not going to re check you again? Anyway, hope all goes ok with it, have they warned you they may hospitalize you with it before hand? hope they don't for your sake and your dd's {{{{Hugs}}}}

JuA you have my sympathies re dd! re the car's double check the Citroen, as someone told me the other day that you need specific car seats for them.....we're going to need a new car too, as with the new seat laws from next may, ss has to go back into a booster.....so will also need a car that does 3 x seats in the back....grrrr....good way of selling more cars isn't it.....anyway if I get around to ringing mothercare to check before hand I'll let you know!

Frizbe · 02/10/2005 20:25

Tabs cross post! glad the party went well, happy leftover eating!

TicTac · 03/10/2005 08:35

Just on the car thing we are going to need one too! I have a suitable company car but we bought a 2 seater sports car the month I fell preg! Even though we where trying we where not having any luck so decided to get the car anyway! So now, need to sell and get something sensible....

JuA · 03/10/2005 08:41

Dh bought a "What Car?" magazine and it had a supplement about buying family cars - not just MPVs but all sizes. I will check if that is the right name and let you know if it is different

TicTac · 03/10/2005 08:49

Thanks Jua...how is the twin bump growth going? Do you "feel" like you are having twins??

Chloe55 · 03/10/2005 08:51

Morning everyone,

Wow, you've all been busy on here over the weekend! I'm glad that he little babies are all healthy though - was starting to worry reading through all those posts!

My little one has been kicking loads this weekend - he kicks a lot if I sing - does this mean he doesn't like it?

Bought a chest of drawers for the nursery this weekend which is the first furniture I have bought and is being delivered today - can't wait to get started on the decorating.

TicTac · 03/10/2005 09:10

Aww Chloe..I had a really fuzzy feeling when you mentioned nursery, decorating and buying your furniture!

I have had loads of movement this weekend, been lovely!

3k · 03/10/2005 09:20

Morning All,

My little one has been kicking a lot this weekend, it's great!!!

Amanda - I also have a low lying placenta and they are going to re-scan me at 32 weeks to see if it has moved up out of the way. This apparantly was the cause of my bleed too but touch wood I have been ok since then.

So fed up being back at work today, I wish I didnt have to come back after maternity leave but have no option. I would love to re-train as a midwife but cant afford the 3 years training with no money coming in except DH and we wouldnt be able to afford to cope on that Looks like I'm going to be stuck coming in for my nasty boss who only thinks of himself!!!!!

TicTac · 03/10/2005 09:26

Oh 3K I think the dark mornings are making it so tough to get into work for! I start at 7:30 and finish at 3:30...I can't remember the last time I was in that early!!

Do you know when you are going to go on Mat leave for this little one??

3k · 03/10/2005 09:42

Hi TicTac,

I'm leaving on 5th January which will be my last day and the following week will be holiday as I then get half a months pay in January. I'm getting quite scared about giving up work as I know we are going to struggle and it is just 3 pay days a way!! GULP!!

Like you I leave at 3.30pm, I start at 8.30am though and dont really have a lunch break. I'm just bored now, my boss isnt the nicest person in the world and he is avoiding my maternity leave talk which I am going to tie him down to on Wednesday when he gets back.

TicTac · 03/10/2005 10:31

3K - you will still get your SMP though wont you? I dont really know how it all works..I just know what BG pay and what that works out to for me. Will you be returning to work or will you leave? Even if you are leaving is it not in your better interest to tell them you intend to return? I just know it works better that way for me (although I will be coming back, can't afford not to as I am the main earner!)

ixel · 03/10/2005 11:09

I'm still alive if you were all wondering
Just had a really bad week or so, so far too busy to come online unfortunately! Dh was stung by a wasp 4 times (he's allergic), then we all got gastroenteritis (including my Mum who was visiting for the weekend), and now due to the sting and the tummy and the stress, dh has come out with shingles. What a week!! Then it took ages to find out if the shingles was a threat to me or bump; the midwife asked the paediatrician, who asked the consultant, but should be ok apparently.
Then I was worried about the baby during the gastroenteritis... took 6 hrs to get an answer to that one, which was 'phone back tomorrow if not better'. Jesus! Luckily I had my 20wk scan 2 days later, which showed no probs with the baby... very wriggly and all bits are there that should be... but I have a low lying placenta. So thats another likely reason for a second caesarian, which I'm not too pleased about.
Then , finally, some friends of mine have had major emotional troubles, which has upset me too, and also means I may not have anyone to leave ds with while I have this one, so dh will have to stay at home and leave me to do it alone!
Other than this, life is great! Actually, I am feeling very calm at the moment. The baby has been kicking. And dh helped a guy who broke down on the mini roundabout on Saturday... no one else would help himpush the car, they just sat honking. I was so impressed with dh, esp as he's in alot of pain with the shingles, that I burst into tears, and he spent ages trying to find out why I was upset! Bless!
And my friend is 8 wks pregnant, after trying for 2 1/2 years, which is really lovely.

Chloe55 · 03/10/2005 11:22

God Ixel - sounds like you have had a real rough time of things lately! Glad you and family all seem to be coping well with all your ailments though Can't say my DH would offer to push the car even if he wasn't poorly - the lazy sod, but I won't even go into that one I have already made my friends ears bleed this morning with my rants - that's all I seem to do at the moment! Is ranting normal in pregnancy?!

Had a very scary nightmare last night and I am sleeping crap, I am so tired today. Told you I can't stop ranting!

TicTac · 03/10/2005 11:24

Blimey Ixel..you have it all going on!!! there are 2 other low lying placenta peeps on here so you are not alone!! I hope everyone comes round fit and healthy really soon!!
Did you find out what flavour baby you are having?
