Remember what you told me TicTac - I think sometimes our little bumps go a bit inactive from time to time because last week I had a couple of days of not much movement and then, like magic, he started kicking away again as normal. It makes you panic though, I know! I am sure it is nothing to worry about at all. I you don't feel ANYTHING by tomorrow I wiould prob ask your midwife - have you been using the doppler?

TicTac · 29/09/2005 11:06

Hee hee, I should listen to myself shouldn't I!!

The doppler is part of my nightly routine at the minute! still beating away. There is just something that feels so special about feeling her rather then hearing her! I might go out in the car later...that tends to wake her up! Am I a nasty mum to be??

3k · 29/09/2005 11:07

I've been the same with movement, mine moves more at weekends when I relaxed then I come to work and he goes shy!! (Can probably hear my boss and is scared like me!!!) Last night I was wondering why he hadnt moved all day then we had an active few mins and now quiet again. Someone told me to expect 10 kicks a day. Is this right or do you need to feel baby move around 10 different times a day to know things are ok. I'm sure this must be later on though????

Chloe & TicTac - thanks for your messages regarding feeling crap whilst pregnant, I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way xxxxx

TicTac · 29/09/2005 11:09

3k - that's what we are here for!

I thought the 10 kicks rule was later on too.

Chloe55 · 29/09/2005 11:15

My mum told me I should feel 10 kicks a day and I began to panic because I don't always so I think it must be for later TicTac too. I'm not worried at the mo providing I feel him at least once a day.

TicTac · 29/09/2005 11:16

Good plan Chloe. How is your list of pros and cons coming along?

Chloe55 · 29/09/2005 11:22

I've finished it and have been very diplomatic about the whole thing and included cons too! I have also drawn up a list on how can save money. Does anyone know if we will receive Family Tax Credit and if so approx how much if DH earns 25K and do I have to get a part time job in order to receive it. I am more worried about working to pay a childminder!

TicTac · 29/09/2005 11:27

Chloe - Your DH will get family tax credit and you will get child allowance. This is a great site for helping you determine what you are entitled to or not!!

Childcare and tax benefit allowances

Chloe55 · 29/09/2005 11:40

Thanks TicTac - that is a good sight and finally one using laymans terms!

Yay SC!!!! I'm having more girl days than boys lately, but have no idea really

Being miserable... I hated my last pregnancy. I had spent years wanting to be pregnant (I never dreamed of marriage, career etc... if we did the whole "what do you want to be when you grow up?" I always said "A mum"). I wanted the pregnancy as much as the baby. Then I had the hyperemesis, work went terrible (lost promotion due to pregnancy- regardless of what they said, got crappy bonus when I deserved more etc..), I crashed our car and damaged two others making me feel terrible with guilt, I slept constantly. I felt like I'd always longed to be pregnant, I wanted what the women in the magazines had, and I think (looking back) I was genuinely depressed.

As a result, as much as I wanted this baby, I was terrified about the pregnancy and all the feelings coming back. Luckily so far (apart from the milk allergy) things have been textbook, I'm starting to "bloom" according to DH, I'm looking healthier than I have in ages due to the fruit cravings, and I'm actually enjoying myself.

Sooo... I understand all the miserable feelings, and I can be a ray of light, that even if it stays blue for this pregnancy, the next one might be soooo much better

TicTac · 29/09/2005 11:59

Aww beautiful Flamebat! I keep being told I am "blooming" and one of my colleagues keeps telling me she never looked this good...then I look at myself and think....yikes!!! I look terrible but I do really love being pregnant despite how I feel some days. And I always have a smile on my face knowing what is happening inside my body!

Oh and I have to say it....I love the attention I am getting too!

flamebat · 29/09/2005 12:02

I love pregnant body. My tummy is all swollen, but with no flabby bits because the baby is stretching them out... my breast have always been big, but now they look like they have a purpose... my legs are looking slim partly due to the fruit diet, and partly cos the bump makes em look smaller.

Chloe55 · 29/09/2005 12:11

I have actually lost a bit of weight off my back/thighs and ass but I look like shit. I am regularly being told I look tired (DH tells me I look fantastic but I know he is lying coz he has to) I have massive bags and have exploded in spots and don't get me started on dandruff - what the? So to all you lovely blooming girlies - sod off!

I'm only kidding about the sod off by the way

3k · 29/09/2005 12:16

Ahhh, Thanks Flamebat. I do enjoy it most of the time but then when I'm doubled over with the ligament pains I'm just scared that something bad is happening to the little bubba. I'm trying to tell myself all the time that the midwife is happy baby is ok and that the consultants are happy too so I just need to relax but I am a natural worrier at the best of times so I suppose this is just me!! I was lucky in the first trimester, just felt tired but I thought that would all go and by now I would feel full of energy etc but that is not to be. I'm just trying to accept it now and rest when my body tells me too and put my feet up in the evenings and not rush about. Work is hard to get through sometimes especially when I want to put my feet up and sleep!! Maybe the third trimester will get better but I know I will be happy when christmas comes as not long to go then.

flamebat · 29/09/2005 12:17

Believe me - I still panic about pains too

3k · 29/09/2005 12:30

I'm feeling a lot better now - ta guys XXX

Tabs · 29/09/2005 12:49

Afternoon ladies - a real quickie from me. Still up to my eyes in dust. This 'holiday' has been the hardest work I've done in ages .

Will try and get on this evening to catch up properly, but a quick 'YEAH!' for spacecadet finally telling us about her little girl .

Hello just a quick one while im at work. I really want a 3d scan thingy but have no idea wheres best to go for one. I know they are pretty pricey so trying to shop around. Im going to the baby show and i was wondering if they might do them there???

Could anyone advise me on this? Is it worth it/how good is it/what if baby is facing wrong way etc?

Thanks in advance. Will check in occasionally whilst at work.

Chloe55 · 29/09/2005 14:25

Someone mentions further down this thread that they are doing face 3d scans at a babyshow coming up soon, can't remember who posted it now but it was also MUCH cheaper than the usual ones.

3k · 29/09/2005 14:33

Hi Mum22soon,

I am booked for a 3d/4d facial scan at the BabyShow. It is with Baby Premier and is £35.
