Floozie- my right side never does drops only jets!

SilverSky · 17/11/2010 08:27

Can't see the hair anymore!!! Typical. Will mention to HV when she comes Friday. Or if it reappears will call sooner. There is always something to Worry about.

We are now feeding roughly 2 hrly during the day. The nights are bit longer. Last night was 11-145-530-8. Tho last night he went down happier after the feed rather than needing soothing. He virtually is soundo once you tuck him in.

I willl look into GroBags. I also gotta get sun blinds and a snow suit so I can walk the dog and take DS with me. Once I get the all clear!

Hermya321 · 17/11/2010 08:40

Silver If you're looking at Snowsuits look at these here. I've got one and I think they're fab. They're like a blanket/snowsuit. I bought mine off of ebay for half the price as well. Grin

Floozie Mine do tend towards the fountain like quality instead of the seeping variety.

Well done to those babies putting on weight, Sophie was weighed yesterday and is now 8lb 10 ozso has nearly put on 3lb since birth. She is a little small apparently in length but so was my ds :)

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 17/11/2010 10:29

Silver-the hair has probably worked it's way out. So long ad the eye is open, not testy or red it's probably long gone!

Foul weather today, I had planned to go walking and et some exercise but instead eating chocolate, drinking tea and feeding LO :) happy days.

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 17/11/2010 10:37

Testy? Teary!

SilverSky · 17/11/2010 12:00

Thanks H will investigate.

Thanks shells think you are right. I was worried he'd have affected eye sight cos I couldn't get it out. Ye is open and fine.

Currently waiting for him to drop off. He has spent most of the morning screaming his head off. Thought it was wind. He had some wind but then the only place he would settle was on the boob. Nightmare.

nymphadora · 17/11/2010 19:31

nymphadora · 17/11/2010 20:19

Yours! thurs 10:30 it's not on the website but look in 'book tickets'

Tyson86 · 17/11/2010 22:13

Wow thought i was the only HP geek, am booking tickets for 21.15 on Friday, sooo excited i cant cope, only going so late as dh home to look after the dc. Me, my mum and brother are going.

sam12 · 18/11/2010 00:03

Another hp geek here. I an going at 2015 on Friday- can't wait! First child free outing since dd.

Tyson86 · 18/11/2010 00:36

Sam12 cant believe there is so many of us, i am so excited, cant believe ive got to wait so long, was hoping that the inlaws would babysit but they are going away, HP is the best!

Xavielli · 18/11/2010 03:01

My HP tickets are booked for tuesday at 8pm! Ridiculously excited.

DS2 currently asleep on my tummy, trying to delay moving him as i know he'll wake up. BF not going well and think this may be the end of the road for us. Trying not to beat myself up about it. There is only so hard you can try i guess and at present neither me nor ds are getting what we need.

Hermya321 · 18/11/2010 08:26

Xav Don't beat yourself up about it, you need to do whats right for you both.

Tyson I bet you'd be surprised how many of us there are. I'm hoping I can convince someone to go with me next week. If not, I'm going on my own with DS. To hell with it! Grin

Nymph Oh I'm there!!!

Me and DS are off on our first more than ten minute car journey to go see my Mum. She rang me earlier this week and demanded my presence today so we can go shopping. I do love my Mum, but she tends to ere on the mindset that everyone else will fit into her plans come hell or high water. I can only fight it so much before I give in.

She is also quite quite mad.

My plan was to re read all the hp books before the film comes out- whilst my baby was happily bf sat in my finished and spotlessly clean house with the smell of delicious home cooked meals Hmm best laid plans eh? As it is i haven't even come across my hp books in unpacking or even had time to watch the films. Oh well am still excited Grin
Hermya hope that your trip goes well.

I am going to pop into work at lunchtime today to see everyone and show dd off

SilverSky · 18/11/2010 10:53

I think we may have colic. It's so distressing for all
of us. Don't know what to do for the best. Have given DS infacol last night and this morning. He didn't nod off til gone 2am. Was hoping to sleep when he does this morning. Let's just say there is no sleep going on in this house this morning. Just more screaming unless he is feeding.

I am considering a dummy if it carries on as he is so upset. He screams and screeches and thrashed his arms and legs about. Got HV tmw so will chat to her.

In the meantime, all advice is welcome.

DillyDora · 18/11/2010 11:39

silver so sorry love, that sounds familiar. DS screams mostly in the evenings, wants to feed constantly then yaks half of it up and has major wind.... We're trying infacol too - apparently it takes a while to work so keep it up. Feeling for you! BTW bf counsellor says it's normal for them to want to be on the boob constantly from 6-10pm.

Hermya lol at your Mum - mine is similar, hope the visit goes ok.

Sam12 you and me both babe! I really miss reading...

Sorry about the bf Xav but better to be happy and well fed/relaxed than try to bf for the sake of it.

Very Envy of the childfree HP outings, not sure I can quite manage that but I'll see if there's a parent and baby screening near us!

nymphadora · 18/11/2010 13:06

silver is there a homeopathic chemist nearby? I had homeopathic stuff for dd1s colic & worked v well

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 18/11/2010 13:41

Silver-I swear by infacol :) I'm also using a dummy this time to help dd sleep-not sure if it's diff babies or the dummy but she is calmer when having a fussy hour.

Has anyone shown you baby massage? Really helps to calm them down and with tummy ache. Try gentle clockwise circles over tummy, or flat of your hand making wide down strokes, or "I love you" which is a I down stroke on the right side of tum, then upside-down L wide down stroke on right, then upside down U (colon on right, so you are encouraging them to fart) use olive oil and gently stroke arms/legs/bum and each finger/toe.
My friend had a baby with colic and she said she tried everything-then it suddenly stopped at 10 weeks.
Her number one advice was to take turns inthe evening and get out of earshot of the crying so you truly relaxed-she used to hide under the shower for 40 mins lol Grin

I hope your hv has some good advice :) I hope it passes soon x

Xav-don't feel bad-you gave it a great try!

Hp fiends- not sure I'll make it this week but please report back!

We are doing well, dd is 6weeks tomorrow. Cant believe it. It was my milestone-I nonlonger have a new born.'such mixed emotions.'the main one is relief.'I had pnd kicking in by now with Ds (the blues never lifted, only deepened) and feel sontotally different. nymph I know you suffered, I hope you feel better too

Right, Ds asleep, time for dd and I to have our daily fix of the gene genie!!

:)

SilverSky · 18/11/2010 20:56

Thanks gals. Colic can feel pretty lonely. I have been reco'd a book and we're getting the Infacol in his system (currently half price in Sainsbugs) if we are still having probs then it's dummy time.

We don't have a homeopath near us but any tips are really welcome.

I don't know if my blocked ducts/poss mastitis has had an impact on his eating and has caused the colic. I don't know. All i do know is he is stuffing his face now and filling his nappy simultaneously. I spend more time wiping his butt and changing his naps than anything else.

Hi to all - hope you are all surviving. I am seriously craving sleep.

shieldbug · 19/11/2010 10:42

silver know how you feel on the constant stuffing the face or changing nappies front. At least it shows milk is going in! Hope the colic improves, it sounds rotten. I'm just waiting for Harry to get it as I'm sure it's fairly inevitable.

3 weeks old yesterday! seashells so glad to hear the pnd has been avoided so far- hope it doesn't make a reappearance.

My only chance to see hp is by going into Belfast and leaving Harry with the mil.Since this means I would be about 20 mins away I don;t know if I can do it or not. I think I would spend the whole film worrying if he was ok. There's no Mum and baby showings that I know of round here.
Must dash- Harry is calling!

SilverSky · 19/11/2010 12:09

Quick q: if he feeds for just ten mins on one boob and falls asleep. At the next feed do I put him back on same or other boob?

nymphadora · 19/11/2010 12:22

I go by how full I feel. If the first still seems full I carry on.

My optimism about my hips/knee was too early. Knee v bad last night :( ok this am & did school run but it's weak .got physio on tues but dh wants me to see private one.
